For anyone stumbling upon this and attempting it onto a different scale here are the dimensions to cut for the rear door: front door length at rocker panel on real truck is 40 inches, divide it by your body scale to match up to your front door. Then the rear door at rocker panel is 32.75 inches on real truck, divide that by same scale as front door to get your cut line. Don’t forget both doors line up with no b pillar so you gotta include that rear cab section on the single cab to your measurement. 👍
This was like stepping back in time and looking at my dad's old truck. The ethereal music gave it a magic kind of feeling. Amazing build. This is super cool!
That axle launch felt like every project I have ever done. "I got this. Just let me handle this small crucial parrr.... OMG!!!! It's under the couch in the next county!".
@@turksandjerps Welcome! It's absolutely amazing and super cool! I also saw the post on Instagram the other day. When will this be given away? I hope I'm the lucky winner!
@@ClassicSteelRC I need to get a date figured out but it will be very soon perhaps within a week. Luckily you're already following me on there so keep an eye out.
That’s freaking awesome I’d been debating on doing the same thing but as a dually, might just have to actually do it now. Great job on that Chevy, thanks for sharing with us.
There was me thinking the truck body was stock and you'd made a demountable camper back for it. amazing work! It kind of reminds me of Rocinante but cooler looking.
Great work, it's mindblowing how much was actually involved in this and gives me a terrible pit of doom in my stomach thinking about tackling it. Loved the cats. Mek in the tire, genius - i don't know how many time's I've knocked mine over and ruined the counter and whatever else it touched. I watched it all, seeing a master at his craft vs how I do things is a joy. Thanks for making me feel like a complete n00b :)
It's not a lot of work, I just make it look hard. I'm glad people like to see the cats too. I love when they hop up and steal the show. I learned the hard way spilling my MEK. I'd say that tire has been stuck to that bottle for about a decade now and I haven't knocked it over since. Knock on wood.
@@turksandjerps Oh no you make it look like less work than it is lol. I recall seeing the tire/mek on your og builds but never appreciated as to why until a few tip overs and a decade later ha ha.
WOW!! I haven't even watched the vid yet, but that truck looks terrific!! Like you just bought it & too it out of the box like that! You've got some MAD SkiLz! Sub'd Rung!
dude you only have 8k subs you should have way way more as your contents awesome so loved how you transformed a nice rc into a out of this world rc , company's should take you in for the development team - beautiful Chevy my friend 🙂
Man I wish that was mine 😲 that’s some amazing work, you can’t even see a body line where you put them together! Where did you get those wheels? Great work 👍🏻
This came out so good. This is full of really great fabrication ideas. I admit I was surprised to see you add the roof ribs after some priming. Was it a detail you thought it needed after the initial styrene work or just something you like to add at certain points in the process?
Thanks! I primed before the roof ribs because I wanted to make sure the roof was 100% smooth before going any further. Consider it a guide coat to spot imperfections. It would be a lot harder to correct after the ribs were installed.
It was a couple hours of video footage I know that. Probably 25-30 hours of work. Maybe less. Some days I spend hours working other days it's a few minutes.

Good kitty. Nice truck.

Glad you enjoyed it!
You put the ribs in the roof! BRO! Next level build, you made it looks easy! Looks AWESOME!
One of those often overlooked things. I always do it. If I throw some unexpected detail on a build I can slack on another thing. It all equals out.
Such an impressive build. The pap cap is the cherry that tops this beauty. 👏👏👏
Thanks. Ampro Engineering did a great job on design
Your attention to detail is impeccable. The Headquakeesque video style is amazing. Chefs kiss!! Bravo!
My work pales in comparison to his but I appreciate your compliment

The skills you have sir! Amazing!!

Absolutely terrific build. I think I would lose it if my dog laid across my work bench like your cat did.
Thanks my friend. I’m pretty sure your dog is bigger than ol’ Charlie cat so I would too

Killer!! Only thing that would make it better would be dually fenders and wheels
Thanks but then it would be a dually which I don't like

You are a true artisan!! How long did that take from beginning to end?
14 minutes 50 seconds ☺️. Ehh a couple of months on and off for a total maybe 30 hours
Very nice. Now I see why it took so long. 👍
How fast does it go?
It'll go about 1.5 MPH down hill with a tail wind

I’m guessing you’re referring to the Proxxon pen sander. Just search for that on eBay or Amazon
@@turksandjerps That's the one, sweet thanks!
I'm guessing you didn't change the motor, does all that extra weight effect it's performance much? Very well done vid BTW.
Didn’t change motor. All in all there wasn’t much weight added. All pretty light plastic.
If you added up from start to finish, how many hours would you figure you have in this project?
It was a couple hours of video footage I know that. Probably 25-30 hours of work. Maybe less. Some days I spend hours working other days it's a few minutes.
