The most attractive quality I value as an intj is loyalty. Most of the things I do and like others to do go against the mainstream or popular narrative. So when I see someone sticking with the unpopular , often with my suggestion as apposed to what they have been spoon fed through media and close minded individuals. This shows that they are willing to go against the ideas that were forced on them by the other sheep. More on that note , Knowing that a person is reliable and has that steadfast and unwavering quality towards you is really good.

  • @Alex-up9dj

The qualities that I find the most attractive are definitely self sufficiency, self improvement and the will to push yourself for more despite the odds. I also usually have very low expectations (or even no expectations at all) of people, I think this is probably an INTJ thing. Due to this, I've rarely ever felt disappointed of someone before. I'm perfectly self sufficient, so whenever I hear someone saying "omg I don't think I would be able to live without him/her in my life", I'm instantly disgusted. This might be a strong reaction but this is honestly what's going through my mind. With time, I'm learning how to be more mature and understanding regarding the way other people are wired but I know this is not something I could ever find attractive. Nothing excites me more than self-growth, improvement, learning, all of this just brings me this sense of satisfaction and achievement on such a deep level, nothing else can make me experience something similar. Everything else feels kind of dull or empty; I could be doing something else for fun, have a good time and a nice memory of it, but a part of me would still feel a lingering sensation of emptiness, like what I just did didn't bring me anything meaningful. So if I ever were to meet someone with those qualities (never did yet), I think this person would probably be the most cognitively attractive person I would ever get to meet.

Pride. Pride is what I find most fascinating. Because there is no group who has more self-confidence and pride than INTJs. Yep, people are predictable. If you can see the patterns of past behaviour, then you can predict future behaviour.
Intuition knows the majority of people do not change. They do not have a growth mind set, as they prefer to be in their comfort zone. This makes them predictable.
The people who show my intuition to be false, who do change. Wow, that is so amazing and attractive. The drug addict who stops taking drugs etc.

For me, this can be actually considered a bias like any other - to suffer in order to change and improve, again and again. It forms a loop, basically the same expected pattern, just with INTJ flavour. The exit, I think, is to suffer to transcend it and realise there is nothing to be improved upon (aka unconditional awakening) but... that brings me back to my bias ;)

I'm an INTJ and I did that. That by which I mean in high school I was alone in class and was shown some explicit stuff by a group of humans that affected my psyche and mental control.I lost the ability of my mind that seeked pleasure and comfort. As an INTJ I could see the problem and needed a way to go against the mind to take charge of it. thanks to Nofap, team fearless and discplinary actions like working out, no sugar no unhealthy food based diet, no bad habits of any kind.I managed to stop it from taking over my mind but not completely. Its hard with relapses and requires consistency and repetition.
Unfortunately since my problem is linked to sexual pleasure. I had to completely distance and cut off women from my life because they seem to be toxic and prefer hanging out with the same human boys that got me into this mess in the first place. Girls with their skimpy outfits is a trigger that's best avoided completely.
I hope that one day I'll be able to find a safe space where I could get back to interacting and building relationships with women that are good and have character.

what i think you are getting at IS well-roundedness. most people realize what theyre good at and/or comfortable with and; they just, simply do that thing without ever really challenging themselves.
BUT, someone who truly seeks to be a better person recognizes what they are poor at and, they seek to improve those lesser developed qualities.
AND, in improving those lesser qualities, they raise themselves as well as the rest of humanity overall with them.

  • @LimQingQing

This is pretty intriguing... Listening to it, I wonder why I feel ticked with some of the things you said.
Maybe because I'm one of those who heavily rely on past experiences (yes, Si-dom here). Sometimes, if I often recall one particular event as something that made me "as I am now", most likely is because it greatly shook everything I previously knew and believed for so long, so that it suddenly changes the way I think, behave and make decisions.
I agree though, that change and growth is an eternal, lifelong process, since I never know what life's throwing at me in the future. And, if I have to say, one of my INTJ friend is very amusing in her natural tendency to pull me towards uncomfortable, albeit necessary, new methods and approaches. It sometimes tire me out, but I do see the positive purpose behind it, so trying to understand and open up to her perspectives and ideas is still giving me delight.

At my internship, a few years ago, I co-facilitated a DBT group for people suffering from addiction and mental health issues. By the time they got to the DBT group, they were further along in their recovery so there was also a lot of opportunity for growth. DBT is all about the experience of discomfort and using it to grow. The transformations you would often see were remarkable!

I find self-knowledge attractive i.e. when people understand their limitations and when they are not obsessed with something that is considerably better than themselves.
I find it attractive when people know what they can and what they cannot do.
I find it attractive when people are attracted to people who are similar to them and in similar situation as they are.
Basically, I find it attractive when people are comfortable with who they are (regardless of who they are in reality.)
The number one quality that I find attractive is self-respect.
You cannot successfully change yourself towards the better unless you previously understand who you are in the present.
I also find people who want to cooperate (and thus divide labor) more attractive than those who don't want to cooperate and who want to be independent (i.e. do everything on their own.) This is quite simply because independence of that sort is an unrealistic goal. Independent thought is very attractive, independence of the absolute (or merely close-to-absolute) kind very unattractive.

Exposed to violence from early in life, enacted it out through childhood/adolecence.
Saw two people punching eachother in the face (One knocked unconcious) the first time I had experimented with psychedelics, It disgusted and confused me (psyde note: psyche meaning the mind/delic meaning to open: Greek)
This caused a complete paradigm shift and life changing epiphany. Suppose thats an example of how one experience changed not only the way I saw and approached situations but the trajectory of my life.

I feel that I am of little consequence unless I am helping others with no expectations. What does that T stand for in your mind? I am somewhat new to this MBTI thing. I am a 51 year old male INFJ 4w/5 which I just found out a year ago. So for 50 odd years I slogged through life thinking I belong to another world. In my experience prior to MBTI, there are two types of people. Selfish and the selfless. The latter is the rare people as the vast majority of humans are quite centric in their views. I have the ability to look through others eyes and I don't expect anyone to change except by their own effort or need. I don't accept the stereotype that INTJ's are incapable of helping others when there is no personal gain to be had. I really don't like that concept that people can be like that, but over 50 years that seems the norm. I am literally trying to learn about the other groupings, if I am misguided let me know. If I offended you please forgive me. Keith

As an INTJ, seeking some sort of self-growth at most times, yes! I can go all the way with you there! We can help each other grow! It’s why I’m researching all of this because my lesser functions are important to me. And seeing someone else try to improve with us is beautiful! It’s hard, but your videos are helping me isolate my issues and while I might not be there, I am getting there. I am seeing that a majority of my issues come from willfully ignoring my tertiary and inferior functions. It’s just so hard for me to unwind and relax because it’s a waste of valuable time. But, I’m learning it’s necessary to keep a balance. Thank you for all you do. Also, hello to Fi and Se as I have had beer and contemplate the deeper meaning in my cognitive existence and betterment. I feel like most people usually choose different activities during this time. Such is life. Lol 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hopefully your perspective is shared more widely by those of all types who have sufficiently matured (granted, INTJs hold independence in especially high esteem).
Those who have the humility to see their own faults and the constitution to resume working on them after each relapse are very attractive to me (INTP Male) too. The more cognitive functions a person develops, the more resources they have at their disposal to not just survive, but thrive - it's logically the best thing to do.
In a society at large which seems to encourage people to be servile and comfortable, seeing people who liberate themselves is a joy.

What you want demands frequent ego death, the next most frightening thing after biological death. To get a sense of the pain, kill your own ego with this exercise: go out with someone you don't admire and spend one hour listening to her, while trying to explain her reality as consequences of feelings, not thoughts. BTW, this necessity you feel is similar to the anecdotal "feminin" desire for "masculin" divinity in being free from death. Develop your empathy: (0) practice identifying the positive that comes with each negative you see (e.g., messy, but creative; pedantic, but reliable, etc.); (1) establish a plausible causality based on their personality; (2) see it through their perspectives; (bonus) look at it through "the eyes of love" (come up with a benevolent alternative explanation for the seemingly bad behavior (e.g., the mother saying that her son will be a detective when he picks the nose in front of visitors)).

I know someone that was vulnerable with me when they first met me, they were in a tough spot, they asked for my opinion, and they came back and said “Your opinion helped me make this big choice because you made it make sense” then they grabbed those situations by the balls and turned their life around in about a month. They refused to stay down or mope, they just acted to change the situation, had a plan A-B in case the situations did not go as planned and did not get discouraged the first time something didn’t go as planned. It impressed the HELL out of me.

Heya LiJo, glad to see you still actively posting. I always love the stuff you put out there. In this video you ask a question about humans, or as you used to say, other humans. Which was basically why do 'other humans' have this seemingly unconquerable need to rely on other people for various aspects of their life, learning, growth, etc. You mention that it feels like cognitive weakness, though you cringe at putting it so bluntly.
I think I have an answer for you, if you'll stick with me on this. All of the four elements of an INTJ are entirely cognitive. As opposed to the polar opposite the ESFP which are entirely social. That means that from an ESFP's perspective everyone one else has this annoying tendency to overthink everything. And so too, an INTJ has the perspective that everyone else has a tendency to over feel/socialize everything. Does that make sense? It is not cognitive weakness that drives a person toward social interdependence. Just as it isn't being anti-social for a person to be driven toward more cognitive pursuits. It is an element of their personality that drives them in the direction they choose to go.
Also I'm not sure if you know this or not, if so please forgive me for covering this. And I'm not one hundred percent assured that this is correct. However it fits so well with my observations that I think that it is pretty accurate. Introverts are introverted due to an over sensitivity to acetylcholine, a reward endorphin. With this being on sliding scale where the more introverted a person, the higher the sensitivity. In extroverts, or mid range 'other humans' the reaction to acetylcholine tends to be weaker than to dopamine, the other reward endorphin. Acetylcholine it is believed, or perhaps proven, I don't actually know, to be strongly associated with memory. Or to put it another way, any strongly introverted person, can from memory manifest the biochemistry needed to feel happy spontaneously. With no more effort than recalling a fond interaction. As INTJs, I think we learn early on how to harvest this response naturally. We lack any of the more socially focused traits as featured in every other personality type on the planet. And as a result, I think it's only natural that we default to what works for us. Speaking in aggregate of course.
However, this isn't true for everyone else. Once you introduce even a single socially focused personality element, the response to social interactions will be naturally overwhelming by comparison. This is due to empathy. Empathy is the single defining behavior differentiation between reptiles and mammals. And I'm sure you can surmise the various physiological reasons for this. And so it's only natural to conclude that we, as human beings in aggregate, are heavily weighted towards social behaviors. In fact, for any personality, that has any social element of the ESFP, empathy becomes the primary way in which happiness, or to put it more clinically, emotional self regulation, is made manifest. As an INTJ, this was a very hard thing for me to get my head around. What do you mean no one else can do what we do? It seems almost incomprehensible. But it is unfortunately for us INTJs a reality of our world.
And so in closing I'd like to say that what really gets you feeling steamy. Are basically other INTJs. Thanks for reading my thoughts on this. Ciao for now, and I hope your day treats you well. And if you've read this far I challenge you dear reader to the following: #endhatrednow

Very nietzschean 🙂. This might be THE ONLY long term trait that makes a human being attractive. I’ve also come to this conclusion. But there is also a multiplier to attraction value here, which is innate talent in that person. What I found paradoxical though is that by seeking pain for the desire to grow I developed in time no desire for pleasure and comfort at all and even avoid it by habit. Also when I do find a person attractive due to their drive and relative hight innate talent, I deconstruct their path to their success, emulate it, surpass it and therefore find it no longer attractive or “magical”. Which is just sad in the end... It’s a byproduct of never admitting or succumbing to defeat. Unfortunately love is admitting defeat in some way I guess, or at least passionate love is...

If music and art is what you’re good at, then you have those for a reason no matter what anyone says, therefore, use them. Try finding some books, podcasts, and other things to answer your questions, motivate you, help you know your worth, and help you practice your skills. Find yourself. Ask yourself the big questions, if you know what I mean. Never let negative people intoxicate your life. If you love doing something, do it. I like that too. People that throw themselves against difficult, uncomfortable things that can change them is amazing to watch. Seeing someone overcome self imposed adversity is an attractive spectacle. As a heterosexual INTJ man, the thing I find most attractive is that quality. But I set a gauntlet for them to run through. I enjoy seeing them pass the benchmarks as they go. The first thing I notice is your integrity. I get along with people that can make decisions and stick to them. I like people who can make up their mind and decide things for themselves. Not only that, I like to see them stand for it. Speak out and stand firm even if they stand alone. I like people that lead by example. They live what they speak and believe. Fickleness and mercurial attitudes are a huge turn off for me. If people want to be close associates with me, then I need them to find their way into the center. I put up obstacles and tests so I can find out quickly how the people around me really are. The most attractive thing for me is witnessing someone accomplish that task. Social interaction is an opportunity for me to design and erect this construction I've developed in my mind.
