Sorta wish I had married an ENFP rather than an INFP who loved her ENTJ brother more than me and abandoned me without warning after 5 years of marriage. It perhaps is rather interesting to hear what an ENFP thinks of INTJs generally.

  • @GyroLamb

It's weird if you have just met an INTJ they can seem super plain and simple. But then you find out that they have like 10,000 thoughts going on in their mind and are thinking WAY ahead it can make them very mysterious and intriguing. They're basically always thinking ahead. Constantly. Like even if they don't want to, they just do it naturally. So you probably will only really know like 1% of who they really are. Which makes them interesting and a challenge.

Sometimes those thoughts are and can be a curse. As a real INTJ ( tested by a psychologist) I allow my thoughts to overpower a moment, and it makes me appear aloof around other people.
I have even been accused of just walking away from people in mid conversation without saying anything. Lol. Which, I don't mean to do so, it's just...I'm consumed by my own analyzing thoughts on what the person is saying to me which usually has no substantial weight in interest. Or I'm analyzing the underlying real meaning of what they're saying and concluded it to be bullcrap.
Co-workers compare me to a cat. Lol.

    • @MaryVanRooy

Haha yeah it's almost like their own secret language or something... sometimes I feel like INTJs think they are much more intellegent than the general public (which they usually ARE lol!) and therefore they almost seem smug when others don't comprehend their humor!! It makes them feel inferior! (All my own perceptions of course! When I observe 2 of my brothers who are INTJs!) but I do feel smug too because I usually understand their humor whereas most OTHER people do not get it!

You are quite self-aware. My INTJ friends fit this list to a tee, except perhaps for empathetic. I know they are empathetic, but they are only empathetic to a chosen few, it seems (i.e., "empathetic" would not be one of the first words used to describe them by acquaintances, where as I and other INFP's have been described that way even upon initial interactions).

these are kinda middle of the ground words, that one could apply to a lot of types..not really specific. It just matters how people define them. People like Mary like INTJ's for those more specific INTJ things which are not "universally positive things", but are actual TYPICAL things that other types may dislike. It's all about opposing forces with attraction *in* MBTI and while ENFPs are extremely lively, kinda youngish in behaviour, somewhat naive, the INTJs are the opposite with being are more oldish in behavior, take life extremely serious, are way more about work than play etc etc....those are specific things

I made only two friends in three years. I'm pretty picky about friends, they have to be as intellectual as me or more, funny, interesting, and give me something in return, I don't usually stay friends with people who don't give me any profit, I don't know how else to put it without sounding like a total jerk. 🤣

INTJs have worked hard in building themselves up through severe adversity. There is a reason why there are only so few of us in this world. It is not a shallow confidence like most ESTJs or ESTPs have. "Wow this person is so weird. Just like me. But in a completely different way but I get it and understand. I can appreciate this" I think thinking along these lines are common to both INTJs and ENFPs when they have an encounter.

Antidepressants brought color into my black and white world, like apparently I can be quite bashful when people actually "get" me. As an INTJ I can say that I’m completely objective driven. “Live in the moment” is completely alien to me. I like to travel so long as it parallels an intellectual pursuit or a historical interest but I’d never travel somewhere just to experience a new culture or a new area(unless I thought that might benefit one of my objectives). Of course, life experience plays a huge role into how these cognitive stacks function in a real world setting so I can’t speak for ALL INTJs.

  • @FrenchCelt
    @FrenchCelt 6 років тому +45

I think another aspect of the INTJ that might appeal to an ENFP is our willingness to entertain those zig-zag ideas of yours (even if we don't seem like it on the outside, we're paying close attention and mulling them over), where others might only humor you superficially when you gush them out rapid fire. We'll listen to the ideas and one or more will ping our introverted intuition and that starts the mutual brainstorming that quickly gets very deep. And because we share extraverted thinking, we have a mutual fluency in that regard, which speeds up the development of those ideas even more. The ENFP can feel validated by the INTJ's interest in what they say and think, and since they're taking our own input very seriously, that is also validating to the INTJ, and the two can easily become wrapped up in a dizzying display of intellectual attraction. The only caveat is that the INTJ can be very dismissive about those ideas they quickly assess as lacking promise, which isn't meant to be taken personally, but the ENFP usually does take it VERY personally. I've developed more tact over the years, but sometimes I still lapse and forget that my bluntness can seem hurtful to others, even though I totally didn't mean it that way.

As an INTJ, I find ENFPs very attractive. Opposite polarities on their intuition (Ni vs. Ne) with matching judging preferences (Te and Fi) in different places in their cognitive stack (complementary) means instant chemistry.

Because (sharing field notes here, all from my viewpoint) what they feel it mostly isn't love, but admiration.
Actually, sometimes they adore you like their personal god, and HOW can you take seriously someone that adores you...?
      Also, daddy issues magnet.
And if you have trouble finding someone, the main trick is to bite the bullet and socialize enough to be seen, i know, feels like a waste of time but the failure of not having a nice pet to cuddle with is worse.
Feeling you're aging and not finding a partner that's up to your "seemingly basic standards but somehow too hard for most" is way worse than going out and let them see you a little bit.
      Also, don't chase.
Don't chase, interact, engage, check if it's a suitable partner or at least useful person. Let them do the legwork, meanwhile you can work on your psychoanalysis skills or something.
      You don't hunt, you're a trapper.

I can say that I had a girlfriend who is ENFJ and I discovered the strong combination of when her feelings overwhelmed her because of a situation we both were in I was not struggling with feelings (because I'm not as much attached to feelings as she is), and this enabled me to encourage and be a support for her. The feelings would hit me a later point and at that point she had dealt with her feelings and was able to help me. (y) The thing with having a hidden side is also very true. I open myself up more to people that I'm comfortable being around and that I know very well.

I'm an INTJ, and I have never, ever had a problem getting a girlfriend. Why? Because I was pushed very heavily into being an extrovert growing up, so i picked up a lot of extrovert traits. I played a shit load of sports growing up, and I always had the confidence to just be myself. If you're an INTJ, remember that you need to also be physically fit, and have social skills, to get a girlfriend. If you're so introverted that you have crippling social anxiety, then you have no reason to ask why you're not getting a girlfriend. As an INTJ, MY ADVICE IS "FIGURE IT OUT." INTJ'S are good at learning new things because we focus and learn well. We are scientific minded people. Learn how to be a better introvert, or learn to live with yourself. It's an easy choice to make, friend.

Love this cute, bubbly girl. Often, extroverts deem us as boring, nerdy, don't belong, but I like me. I never knew how girls see me on a deeper level...cool! I never knew in what ways I'm liked. Thanks!

Everything that you have commented about what makes INTJ attractive is what most of the world has said are unattractive about them lol.

Me and my Fiancé have been doing personality tests all week and have discovered that she's ENFP and I'm INTJ. It now makes a lot of sense why we get along so well, it always puzzled us how two very different people "clicked" so well.
We push and encourage each other to do things in a way that is just right for us respectively. She just seems to know what to do and how to say it, to get me to push my boundaries, we have both changed our careers since being together.
It hasn't all been plain sailing though. My coldness is something she has really struggled with and we have two very different approaches to arguments. We continue to work on that and we're getting better at it. Now during fall outs, we just have to remember how each of us processes and evaluates information and I'm pleased to say it's working. I have to say that I'm usually the one in the wrong though but she does appreciate that I'm willing to accept that, even if it does take me a day of thinking to realise it.
Great video though, gives me a bit of a confidence boost and does explain why people seem to like and are drawn to me, even though I make no effort in return. I have a lot of acquaintances but a very number of people who I call friends.

Gotta love the random voice changes for emphasis. Do ENFP realize they're that cute or is it innate?

Whoa, I am flattered 😂 I think most of what you say is true and the thing about me (or it can be for other INTJs too) is that I'm actually an introvert but I love talking, especially about certain subjects that I love... I also like meeting new people and just sharing stuffs with them, I think INTJs are one of those introverts who are actually talkative, but when I'm alone I can adjust pretty well, like I enjoy being alone, in fact I need some alone time or "me time" cause I just like to zone out and plan some stuffs or just think about something or learning something by myself, I guess INTJs are eager to learn, that's why they know about a lot of things from different subjects... Anyway, thanks for this video, it makes me love being an INTJ even more

We are very unique in the sense that we are like no-non-sense talk.. Avoid Gossiping... Like to look for nitty-gritty and not shallow

I just took the "test" about a month ago, and have been watching almost every video I can on the subject of INTJ personality. I was very surprised to find so many about why we are "attractive". It's nice, but I also find it odd.
