I'm a Marine Corps machine gunner veteran and when I first went in, we were given a familiarization fire (fam-fire) of the M-870 shotgun. The instructor said the 12 gauge pump had an international sound language with the pump action. No matter the language, most people know that sound and will turn and choose another direction. This bad-ass little weapon from Henry should have the same effect on any dumb-ass home intruder when they hear that lever action. Nice job, Henry!

Alan does such a great job reviewing these guns. I’ve talked with him on the phone and he does such a wonderful job in explaining things and giving one a real idea of expectations. I also really enjoy the super slow motion on the action when firing the gun. I am really looking forward in visiting the store and meeting him in person. Thanks so much for taking the time in doing these videos. I know how much the setup and breakdown is involved with video shoots.

I'm a liberal and I ain't afraid of semi and full autos being pulled out the market. Every man, woman and young adult should own a lever action rifle. No terrorists, authoritarian military army or police state can defeat the people with these big boys. Take out snipers and distance shooters with 45 70s, take out front liners with 30 30 and tactical specials, then go around clear up the traitors left agonizing on the floor and their shitting leaders close range in the head with this good boy Henry axe.

@@thewatcher611 Why a full auto. I like all lever action rifles. I'm sure that we could have taken out the soviet union before its demise sneaking an equal amount of military personnel using lever action rifles just to prove how handy they are. Just good tactical drills. 45 70 taking out bad guys and staying behind a bit protecting the ones going in ahead. Then 30 30 and specials lever actions taking out dudes inside the soviet bases in close contact battles. if you ran out of bullets pull out ruger new vaqueros in each hand and when you run out have a partner to cover you while you reload. if you want a harder weapon just add a granade launcher to a lever action or might as well bring out the bazookas.

    • @mendozaconsultation

Nothing wrong with a lever action but, with a pump, you stay on terget better because your finger, stays on the trigber. With the lever, you have a tendency to SLAP the trigger when acquiring the site after every shot. And your a FOOL or a LIBERAL ,one of the same, if you think that your going to out shoot someone with a semi auto. Unless your super proficient or a pro shooter with that Vaquero or Lever action.
      P.S.
Unless you have been on the Barrel end of someone's gun, keep your Opinions to yourself, or at the least, think before speaking. Fear, panic, tunnel vision, heart raises, sweat all contributes.

It’s a great gun, and as you say, it’s a lot of fun to shoot. I’m in a wheelchair and while I love my 12 gauge it has become harder to handle the weight as I’ve aged (70 now). My wife can handle this as well and that makes it a go to for home defense.

    About the price.
This is a fully made in america warrantied firearm from a legacy company.
    Its a specialty design.
    And its a quality piece.
I see how people are saying its a little high priced but its really not that high.
Its a firearm you will likely handdown to your child or grandchild someday, so i mean i guess it just depends on how you are looking to invest.

If it also chambered 45 Colt like the Judge or Governor does then it'd be well worth it. As for having a purpose other than fun to shoot, it would be a good truck gun for close up vermin. Especially if they find a way to chamber 45 Colt. Out in the bush where I live I can think of plenty it'd be good for.

  • @Harleylovinchelley1

I'm thinking this would make a great home defense piece. Short enough to maneuver through tight spots, but big enough to be easy to hang on to and powerful enough to be effective. You could load it so the first one or two have bird shot and the rest are 00 buck in case the intruder didn't get the message. Then if there are more of them, you have a great club for whacking the daylights out of them.
I really like my Henry .22 golden boy and the 30-30. The lever action is silky smooth.

The 410 is what I started my kids out on because they were very young, no kick. Moved to .22LG then on to bigger, stronger, how to brace against something. I now teach each grandchild at same age their dads were. Teach kids young, remove the forbidden taboo & your kids will not have reason to sneak around or horrible accidents happen. I was raised around all types of firearms, was nothing for a uncle come back from hunting, prop whatever they'd used in a corner & yes loaded. More unloaded assumptions cause more accidents than loaded. I taught my boy's young because several cops even back then told me where you live I hope you always have & carry. If we get a call it's going to be at least 40 minutes but probably longer response time. I started thinking about if someone broke in what would happen to my kids if I didn't make it, what if it's more than one? I taught them everything possible from loading, loading, bracing, which to best use, to clean them. Both are very capable of putting food on the table for their families. I slept with a loaded pistol under my pillow. My kids was taught just as we were as kids, they knew it was there but never once touched it. This new taboo is bad for our kids & grandkids. Every Sunday, holiday, ect was at my grandma's, it was nothing to have 1w, 15 ➕ ➕ plus kids running around or through her home, never, not once was the first of us kids get in trouble trying to sneak to touch & if you were 4 or 5 when a uncle came in hunting he'd say come on let's get this ready for dinner. Just please start teaching your children. Firearms aren't the problem, never has been. Problem is what evil that person holding it has in them. The mass shootings in schools these kids or most were on prescribed Rx meds that specifically state do not administer to people under the age of 18, yet they were & not just one rx but several, doctors ignore warnings that state giving to under 18 can be dangerous, side effects unknown. Ignorance is a huge issue not firearms. Kids social skills went out when people started buying 5 & 7 year olds cell phones, never outside to meet or play with neighborhood kids, video games took the place of being out playing, feelings can't be hurt & no child learns how to lose because we have to make sure each get trophies. Kids must learn young how to deal with losing or by the real world comes into their lives working they haven't the first clue how to deal with real life. Could go on. But it's already too long a comment.

@@iankiller1 Yes I have, I own a historical one, and I inherited one of the newer ones from a family member that passed. I have several guns in my collection that dwarf the cost of these rifles, which are nice, but in honesty if you take a 500 dollar Rossi, spend an hour or two polishing the internals, you end up with something in the same league, maybe with slightly less good wood.
these rifles are not practical hunting tools, not practical fighting tools, not practical sporting tools, not practical self defense tools. At the end of the day that leaves them in a niche of "fun to shoot", and for 1000 dollars I can find a lot of things much more fun to shoot...or pay more and buy something of real historic value.
As a collector, shooter, and sportsman there are simply better values then the price gouging that Henry offers. Not every rifle can be a six figure collectible, but for four digits one can find some fun and fine historic pieces, or buy a much more functional for a role modern weapon.

One of the most arbitrary laws here in the US, would definitely be my first to get rid of due to it's pointless nature. If someone wanted a short gun to "conceal" they would get a pistol right? Government is pretty dumb sometimes.

    • @2spooky4me96
      @2spooky4me96 4 роки тому

Kaden Wallis haha yeah, we have more than our fair share of arbitrary firearms laws up here to, just not the "short barrelled" garbage law. If the firearm has an operational (can be fired while in that formate) over all length of 26 inches or more it's considered a standard rife or shotgun, if it's under 26 inches it's considered a handgun (different rules/laws apply). There are many exceptions though such as the mares legs that are under 26 inches are still considered rifles or shotguns not handguns under our laws. Hell, they sell (no joke) 12 gauge 3 inch mag break action shotguns (double and single) with 8 inch barrels! You can buy it like any other shotgun with a full rear stock and on the shelve beside it they sell a production pistol grip for it. If you install the pistol grip it's a handgun, leave the full rear on it a regular shotgun lol. Same as folding stocks, If it folds and can fire under the 26 it's a handgun but install a rivet to prevent the fold (or telescopic) and the same firearm is a standard rifle or shotgun, literally 30 seconds with a file on the rivet head would change its legal classification , just completely arbitrary...

If you are going to get a 410 shotgun know that 410 ammo is typically more expensive than 12 gauge. I would recommend getting a MEC 410 shotshell press. It will pay for itself within a few hundred rounds.
I'm reloading buckshot, three 000 with a velocity over 1700 feet per second for 37 cents a round material cost. Compare this to a buck to a buck fifty for defensive rounds from the store if you can find it. It's a shotgun (technically a non-NFA 'firearm', but we all know it's a shotgun), and nah. A fun novelty, but not really a viable defensive weapon. I guess loaded with like #4B it might be pretty effective, but being limited to 2 1/2" shells makes ammo selection pretty bad. You can do a lot better.

Love lever guns. I’ve a Marlin 45/70. I’ve a short 870 12g shotgun. I’ve extensively simulator trained with the 870. This is not my personal deal. I want to not only aim at what I’m shooting, I need to account for my round in front of and behind the target. I don’t like this concept. It is a close quarters home defense weapon only but even then if the whole pattern doesn’t hit its mark a neighbor might be at risk through a window or a child in the next room through only two half inch layers of rock. Knowing what you want to destroy and concentrating fire to stop the threat is essential.

There are a lot of really cool 410 guns out there and 410/45 LC combo guns but 410 is really difficult to find, if there were more ammo options available I would have purchased at least a couple chambered in 410 but as it is today I think it would be a struggle to get affordable ammunition.
