I grew up at 12 years old shooting a single shot 410. Loved that gun! Shells were cheap. No choke necessary. Great gun. This one is awesome because hardly any kick at all. It'll pattern all by itself. Good teaching weapon too.
@@deathbymazda during the height of the pandemic they were going for $1400 no joke. Too bad I never could sell a gun. Especially going into the Biden administration. Oh man, can't find these barely anywhere. GunBroker but they go from 9 to 1100 EZ it seems. Finally found one , only one, the other day and a Gun Shop. For like 960 then 7% tax.. tempted, tempted, but couldn't do it. But then just found one online today for 850, eight bucks shipping to its sister store near me, and no paperwork fees. Still quite the penny, but this thing looks pretty cool. Pretty unique. Now if I can find 410 shells.
Beautiful shot gun, well crafted and made in the good ole U.S of A. I Don't need the larger bore shot guns, just need it to scare off the feral pigs that dig up the farm and this 410 shot gun is perfect . Now all I need to do is save up the $970.00. Yeah, a bit expensive but,I'd buy it.
I’m new to the Henry camp with the recent purchase of a side gate 3030. Henry’s product and service is nothing short of five star. What separates a Henry firearm in the price range between a marlin and a Mossberg is the quality difference which is not even comparable.
Good Time to Put some money away for your Gun Fund! or as I call mine my "mad money" jar. I don't spend my pocket change it all goes into the Jar occasionally I add $10 $20 bucks.. Takes a bit longer but worth it
I was super excited to get one and I believe I was one of the first. It’s already back at Henry customer service though. I bought it for a small game backpacking gun but it shoots too high to be able to “aim” with the sight bead. 15-18” high at 25 yards, 6-8” high at 15, and 2-4” high at 5 yards. We’ll see what Henry does or not
Sorry to hear that Aaron. It has been my experience that Henry not only backs their products but also offers top-notch customer service. They should make it right. So far we have sold two Henry Axes and both serial numbers were in the lower 300 range. For what it's worth, I find that short "pistol grip firearms", such as the Henry Mares leg, Mossberg Shockwave and Rem Tac-14s, etc., all tend to shoot high when aimed as one would normally. Not sure, but I would guess it's because since the weapon is not anchored by shouldering, our trigger hand has a tendency to be lower than it should be while we aim like it's a long gun. Thank you for your comments and watching our channel!
It's Awesome and I want one. But I am waiting for Henry to come out with Version in Brass, like their other nice shotguns. This one looks like a stepchild.
Now all I need is a leather jacket and a chopper (with a leather holster on the side) and then i'm all set to ride into the sunset and onto the appocalypse
USA#1 !! Steve McQueen had a western series called Wanted Dead or Alive. He carried a similar gun like this one that holsters on his side like a hand gun. Awesome looking and told everyone he meant business.
Steve McQueen carried a "Mare's Leg" Winchester Model 1892. It was a modified Winchester made special for the show and according to sources, if you could buy the original one, it would run well into the six figure range.
A bit too expensive at the moment. Great Video! I love Henry firearms I wish I could afford to buy more!! However, 650.00-700.00 is a bit much! I have a Golden Boy 357, 22 Pump, Henry Lever Action .22 with a Trump 2020 serial number.
It is a quality looking piece for sure , but other than self defense what is a practical application for this ? Small game would really be a challenge. They would be better off to offer a standard stock as an option so it would be easier to hunt with.
You need a long coat and a big hat to carry this one off. Not a look I could keep up for long on the streets of southern England. Great looking gun though, regardless of what is for....
Very nice, but what's it FOR? Yeah, I know, it plays on the appeal of the old Mare's Leg lever action that's been floating around Hollywood for 70 years, and appeared in dozens of movies we all saw as kids. But what does it *do* that something else won't do better?
Damn shame I cant get it into Australia, I would definitely have this for household protection. When a person reaches his dotage years one feels very inadequate to be able to protect ones family and there could always be a need!
Very smart to copy other and well tested brands and put on a loading gate. All of the other Henry’s comes without. If you by accident should come to loosing the the tube rod - now you can do emergency loading true the gate.
Sir, I do not recommend that. Doing so will make this firearm a short-barreled (NFA) shotgun which requires a Federal tax stamp to own legally. This model is not a "shotgun" by ATF regulations, it is a "firearm" and must remain in its original manufactured configuration to be legal, unless the proper tax stamp/paperwork is obtained.
Glad it is a dedicated shotgun, the 45/410 has its place but smoothbore is the best for shot. Perhaps Henry will offer it without the side load gate. A great, nostalgic feature it is but this adds to the cost and is not necessary.
So, what is it’s recommended use? 410 is low on lethality, but 5 rounds is good. 15 inches will diffuse in a short range. Probably best as a bouncer’s bar fight stopper?
MSRP = $970, street price is around $790-ish if you can find them. Henry does offer a Mare's Leg belt holster for $152, but I'm not sure if it will fit the Axe model. Contact Henry to verify fit.
Nobody needs anything, it's a want issue. I want one because I see the practical application it will serve for me. I must have a LTC for pistol carry but I can strap or vehicle carry without with this. Plus close quarter defense with this would be a dream.. five rounds of 00 buck.
I wonder if they ship to NY. As of now...you can’t even buy a .22 bullet from an internet sales company or person and have it shipped here!!! I’d be out of this rip off state in 5 minutes if we could, but we’re a small family now and we’d mis our granddaughters just too much! That’s the ONLY thing that we’d miss!!! The Governor is almost single handedly RUINED this once great state! Not even Cuomo’s father was this bad!!!

I love it too it is so cute you got a holster for it like Johnny Yuma magazine tube what a great idea don’t have to spring load every cartridge

I know. So unique, twice as much as it should be probably. But wow. It would be kind of neat

With the Henry Axe I would feel very safe
That thing is COOL! One in 20-gauge would be just the greatest. It's illegal in Ohio, however, just like the Shockwave and Tac 14.
Why 20...as a scatter gun 410 is enough
Martin West .410 might be enough, depends on threat and distance.
Martin West I consider 20 the minimum size for a shotgun, .410 is pretty disappointing in pretty well every way to me.
Cool

Where can I pick one up?
Purchase, that is.
Going to be hard to find for a while until production catches up with demand.
Will it fire a 45 long colt like other 410/45 do?
No, Henry states it only fires the 2-1/2" shotshell
