On the Akainu being stronger tip. Not necessarily...it was a ten day battle, so really it was a matter of endurance, not just strength. Two other possibilities...perhaps Akainu is the better tactician and had a strategy geared at winning. Second... maybe the fight was just a set up for Kuzan's undercover work to truly be believable. (Somebody has to be the strongest in punch manga, so likely Akainu is simply the stronger dude, but I like exploring other possibilities)

Aokiji telling Garp he keeps raising enemies is so true and sad. Dragon, Ace, Luffy, and now Aokiji. Everyone Garp is close to always seems to be opposed to him in some way. Must be hard
Imagine what a colossal headache Garp must be to Sakazuki. Not only did his son and grandson become some of the world’s biggest criminals, but now his protege became an Emperor subordinate
I think Garp's Wife was a Celestial Dragon.....maybe a Figerland so Shank is Luffy's grand Uncle Its probably why even the Gorosei though frustrated with Garp, Dragon, and Luffy wasnt doing anything beside that 1 low key assassination that didnt turn out well cause it cause it caused a perfect storm of faith, sacrifice, and the spilling of a "Lamb to the Slaughter to Assend to Monkey D Jesus(or Nikka in this case,Sun gods die at nightfall and ressurect at dawn)
Throughout Garp's encounter with Aokiji, he doesn't seem too pissed or sad. I think Garp knows whatever Aokiji is upto. Maybe he's working with sword and Coby leaked it
Garp is a hero because he never wavers in his strong conviction towards justice and the marines. He never fell to the dark side like Aokiji despite his personal tragedies involving Ace, Luffy and Dragon. Instead, he trains Korby to be the next generation of marines. He is also someone who is never driven by blind hatred in his profession. While he may dislike taking orders from celestial dragons, it is never his main reason for not becoming an admiral. He is just like luffy, wanting more freedom while still executing justice in his own way as a vice admiral.
@@doraemon61377bro is a fraud everyone who was close to him turned away from him and into pirates like dragon, luffy, ace, sabo, aokiji, literally let’s his grandson die in front of his eyes because his job is more important then that even though he’s old asf his last few years of his job is more important then his grandson, he’s a fraud turns a blind eye to all the bs the celestial dragons do like ohara buster, defended the celestial dragons and there slave games at god valley, he’s a bad person u say oh he doesn’t listen to the celstial and isn’t a lap dog but he still turns a blind eye to it and let’s them do whatever they want without even thinking of fighting back
I love the flashbacks and how we see Kuzan's punches getting stronger and stronger through the sound effects, and how him and Garp are having this slugfest now. It's really sad and tragic but insanely cool.
@@alvinip9128that's fair. But Rayleigh is around the same age as Garp and he stated that he wouldn't be able to fight the BB pirates back in amazon lily.
I really loved the moment young Garp dismissed Kuzan's request by saying he valued his freedom. Ironic, given his criticism of his son and grandson's career paths, but more proof that the Will of D is both inherited and generational.
He probably thinks their career path is criminal and hence the resistance. One Piece can be dense like that sometimes. Even if you just want to be free to travel the world, you are not a traveller, you are a Pirate! This mixup was made on purpose by Oda!
@kunalkashelani585 Oh I agree. It's like what Doffy said, as Liam pointed out: the circumstances of one's birth (cultural, socioeconomic, etc.) shape one's views. Since we still don't know much about Garp pre-God Valley, it's hard to say what exactly freedom means to him, but it's clearly based on a sense of organizational (read: governmental) right and wrong. But we know Garp's literal heavy-handedness as a parent/vice admiral and the subsequent hypocrisies of the government drove practically all of Garp's family away from his definition of freedom. Even, as we see now, Kuzan.
@@grayfoxpianist11 Yes, we can also see Garp not aligning with WG values from time to time by rejecting position of Admiral, disliking World Nobles etc. His mind is constantly on fight with himself!
@@daniyalashrafi314he literally couldn't have fought garp at all if he didn't have at least armament and observation. Most anybody who is going to put up even a bit of a fight this point forward will.
As a Garp stan, it makes me so happy to see him realized as the Hero he is and not just a title people online argue about whether is valid for him to have. Plus with how prevalent legacies and carrying them on are i really love how earned aokijis strength is due to the flashback. Perfect writing.
Maybe its odd but the strength of Kuzan didn't surprise me in the slightest. I am by no means a power scaler but I always figured both his Strength as well as his dexterity were top tier simply due to him riding a bicycle on solid ice between islands. That's gotta be a serious workout in itself.
Garp's son turns into a revolutionary, Garp's grandson turns into a pirate, and Garp's disciple finally turns into a respectable marine and good admiral but then he betrays the marine and joins the worst pirate in the world, F to Garp but we know he still got another disciple that is probably going to surpass him
Even though technically that is true, we all know the true villain is Navy and all his children and disciples are going to work together to end that. So, Garp actually raised true heroes!
Gr8 point. F to Garp is spot on imo! Garp is a gr8 mentor in terms of making his pupil strong. But he sucks as a mentor psychologically and emotionally imo. His son is revolutionary, there must be a story there. He wants his grandson to be a marine so he leaves him to be raised by mountain bandits. His main student of many years becomes traitor and BB pirate.. Koby means so much to Garp bc he represents a chance for Garp to finally be successful at producing a strong student that is also committed to Marines since it seems Aokiji is no longer on the path to be hero of justice
I started making my cosplay of him back when he was just a wandering robin stalker but, now his stocks are way up and i don’t know if want that attention lol
I like the meta humor of Pizarro trying to be the narrator at the end, saying "The Marines were tragically defeated by the Blackbeard Pirates!", which actually raises more survival flags, because only Narrator-san can determine who won the fight, just like the Worst Generation vs Beast Pirates/Big Mom
Thats a really great point, narrator-kun has the final say(except the one time luffy had narrator plot armor) cuz the egghead incident overshadowing garps death's doesnt make sense if garp really does die here since the events on egghead is something they want to cover up luffys actions now that they know hes awakened nika nika fruit and both situations on egghead and hachinosu makes the marines look weak or pathetic. Perhaps morgans would rather spin the egghead news than the hachinosu one and the news of garps death gets buried on page 10 lol
I rewatched the first couple episodes of the anime yesterday. And went back and saw Coby when he was introduced at the start again. And I shed a tear at how far he’s come.
Invisible fruit would probably give them an advantage against observation haki. The brat on whole cake island slipped a dart past two advanced observation users because it was completely silent and she wasn’t being actively observed
Shiryu probably has the counter to CoO without even Invisibility, there could be ways to be undetectable to CoO, with invisibility he became basically untouchable unless he stabs someone and they catches him through his sword stab like Garp did. It made no sense for Koby to not sense getting attacked when he can sense people underwater sending torpedos, and Garp should be able to block or punch Shiryu if he sensed he is going to attack but get stabbed instead
@@timurjack8773 To be fair for Koby, his issue is more he was distracted with what he thought was a hostage, while also fighting the whole island. Observation Haki has been shown to have one real big counter to it, one that Luffy even takes advantage of with his Snake Man form, to much information. Koby was having to deal with pirates pretty much on all sides, his own heroic instincts telling him to rescue the hostages, as well as trying to avoid collateral damage from Garp's fighting. Just like how Snake Man counters observation by attacking from so many directions, one can't hope to perceive and dodge them all, the chaos that is the battle field offers that same effect. It's not a perfect counter as a more skilled person could overcome it, but certainly something that can be taken advantage of by someone like Shiryu would could use his fruit who can lower his observable presence during a fight with so many obvious threats around.
I really don’t see Garp dying. Blackbeard could use him as the bargaining tool to become affiliated with the World Government. And you could still have Koby develop with the loss of Garp without killing him.
This could be setting up Luffy's fight against Black Beard to rescue Garp. That would be awesome! It would be a second chance for Luffy to save his family and make sure what happened to Ace never happens again. Coby could also team up with Luffy to fight Blackbeard's crew tracing a parallel to Garp and Roger teaming up against the Rock's pirates on God Valley.
Yup exactly koby can still develop with a captured garp as koby will still feel guilty and go training arc, garp also doesnt need to die to bring luffy, dragon and the marines down on Blackbeards head, luffy is gonna clash with BB no matter what and Dragon is busy with the WG. Blackbeard would kill his captains first to apologize b4 he let the marines destroy his pirate island and his plans
Reading this chapter the first thing I thought of wasn't how scary this was for Garp but rather how much this reminded me of what we were told about the Rocks Pirates. I think it was actually this channel that first said the idea that stuck in my head that the Rocks Pirates was a crew of all Captains and hearing the lines of some of Blackbeards men really make me think about that. I can't help but assume that all of these people, Shiryu and Avalo for example are giving me vibes like they will do anything to be big dogs and that the crew, while working together, are still at each others throats in some way and it really makes me think that a second God Valley moment is fast approaching as the series is coming closer and closer to an end
If they capture Garp and turn him over to cross guild for the bounty it could lead to yet another rescue the D arch. Alternatively maybe Buggy and Garp bond over Roger. Or maybe him getting captured is all part of the plan for sword. So we have reasons to kill and not to kill but there are death flags so...
@@stephenjames2159i got a feeling Kuzan is actually trying to remain undercover in the Blackbeard Pirates so he’ll either try to capture or falsely kill Garp to earn Blackbeards trust and maintain his cover while trying to save Garp. However, I truly believe that despite his efforts, Blackbeard is going to be the one who kills Garp for two reasons, the first is to make the WG/marines look really bad, damaging their public face because they failed to support him in saving a hero to the public aka Coby. The second reason is that Right before arriving, Blackbeard managed to get an even better bargaining chip than Coby or Garp…Princess Vivi. Remember, Imu told the five elders to retrieve, not kill, Vivi by any means necessary!!!
@@stephenjames2159 Buggy and co have other issues the last chapter before this one said something along the lines of "S-Crocodile is on empty bluff island" which means cross guild is currently up against a seraphim
I like the idea that he freezes him, and Garp willingly lets him do so, then at a pivotal moment Kuzan unfreezes him and they both take on the BB pirates
I refuse to believe that kuzan wiould allow him to die. I still believe he's in deep cover kinda like how itachi was. There's no way he lets his Sensei and young Marines die.
Garp getting stabbed reminds me of whitebeard getting stabbed. It was the moment when the legend became mortal and the enemy understands he can be injured.
The paralels with the paramount war is insane, from certain panels to a lot of relationships within the fight. A betrayal, a backstab (or more like front skewer), the rescue of a son-figure, the deformation of the land they are on, and so on, so on...
It really broke my heart when Kuzan was Garp's student, but in the end of that Kuzan became a pirate and joined even probably the worse of pirate groups, where Garp is forced to fight his own student that has went rogue.
Even if Kuzan is playing double cross, there is definitely going to be a point where Blackbeard reaches peak of his power and does heinous things before confronted by Luffy. He will have still directly played a part in getting BB to that point.
I don't think Garp will die until we see all three members of Monkey D. family standing together, it`s will be one of the most epic moments of all one piece
I think Garp is still a 5 Crown opponent even event if only 50% of Prime as that means Garp is still is 50% power of the Roger and Garp tag team that took down Xebec,Whitebeard,Kaido,Big Mom,Captain John,Shikki, and Wang Zhi........and could go toe to toe with Roger(still a Monster)
@@fazlymawlabasyar3209I might just have too much hopium, but I don't think Garp will die. Not now at least. I think he will be badly injured and can't really fight anymore after this. But not dead. His final words on the chapter and Pizzaro's "celebrate too soon"-vibe speech make me feel that something will happen and Blackbeard pirates will fail. The only time I can see that Garp will die is if Blackbeard himself come in. Tho it seems he is somewhere else now.
@@justawanderingoldman7699I personally Don’t see why he would die rn. Kuzan told BB Koby wasn’t the best bargaining chip. You know who is the best bargaining chip though? I wouldn’t be surprised if this whole situation was planned by Blackbeard just to get to Garp. The only thing is I’m not really sure how you’d keep Garp imprisoned
A mate of mine and I think the Justic line is also going to reference Kuzan not letting Avalo Pizzaro destroy the Navi ship, as they made sure to let us know there were civilians on board. A way of saying that Kuzan may have turned but he has his sense of justice. It would be weird with his massive epiphany at Ohara when Akainu wiped out that boat of innocents, for him to let it happen again. He isn't an "ends justify means" dude. So even if he does kill Garp, I think its good character development and keeps us guessing on his true motivation is he stops Avalo. Also, "Freezing the giant" (soft Saul callback).
Either Garp dies on Hachinosu, or he loves and escapes only to succumb to his wounds on the ship. So unlike Marineford at last, Garp died knowing Koby and the slaves are safe. Maybe like with Whitebeard we’ll get a flashback to a younger Garp either when he agreed to team up with Roger, or maybe something silly like where he got the idea for the Fist of Love he uses on Luffy from. I’m guessing his dad did it to him and he’s only trying to pass it along.
I can definitely see Garp being captured here. Blackbeard was looking for a bargaining chip in Coby, the future hero of the marines, but gained the ultimate bargaining chip in the legendary hero of the marines. I feel like Garp is way too valuable to BB and Oda alive
Garp isnt the type to be captured, I just cant see him in that kind of position. Hes more the type of character to die fighting than being captured. Being captured is a level of humiliation that Garp would never experience
A lot of things after the timeskip are parallelisms of things before the timeskip, and this reminds me of Ace vs Blackbeard. It also adds up with the Egghead Arc, being a parallelism with Sabaody Arc, and maybe the Elbaf Arc, possibly being a parallelism of the Amazon Lily Island Arc. Maybe Garp will not be killed, but publicly executed by the Blackbeard pirates, like when Ace was going to be publicly executed by the Marines, but this time instead of the Marine executing a pirate, it would be Pirates executing a marine. Luffy would want to go and save his grandpa, the Marine would want to save their hero and the maybe Dragon would want to save his father or help his son, maybe. This would end up with all these factions going to Hachinosu and starting a war bigger than the War for Marineford, as the narrator has told us many times. This could be the last big Arc of the series. This is just a theory. A ONE PIECE THEORY. Thanks for reading.
Luffy's strength doesn't just come from his devil fruit. You can see a lot of pre-timeskip examples of luffy's raw strength without using any sort of stretching mechanics. While hypnotized he ripped the front off of a ship and used it as a club. When fighting Belemy he threw a punch directly down without first stretching it back. While fully compressed in Water-7 he shoved two buildings apart. Dude is a physical beast - devil fruit or not, and now we know why.
Sengoku and the other vice admirals showing up: "LEAVE YOUR FUCKING HANDS OF OUR HERO" and then sengoku just buddah punches pizzaro so hard in his stone face we see the actual pizaro flying out of the skull
@@jakoblent4694 Im pretty sure that Sengoku got weakened by time like Garp and shouldnt be able to fight like on his prime. Though he can be menace if he still can use advanced conquerors haki coating (which Blackbeard doesnt have) on pair with his OP devil fruit.
I can really see the influence Garp has had on Luffy in this chapter, and I wonder if it’s in dragon as well. That unwavering spirit that moves them forward regardless of what the odds are, or the pain.
With Garp,2_rear Admirals,2 Captains,a few Commanders, and whatever the hell Bogart is there is definitely a plan and contigengy plans Coby would be unaware of Garp,GRU,Colby, and Helmempo were the diversion team Kajaku says they are ready to set sail but Pizzaro sees a Ship(the one that was in the Plazza) already out at Sea and Garp's fall back orders is to run to the Coast with Gru putting in work instead of making his Golem Army.........very suspicious indeed My guess I'd the ship at Sea is a Golem, the Ship in the Plaza is a Golem and the Distraction crew got fast swapped with Golems right after Garp and Akoiji punched each other
I knew that garp will die back when Sengoku said “where’s garp he really wanted to taste these rice crackers.” Which is a way to feel extra sad for garp in hindsight.
I knew that you'd mention the "son" part. So, Shiryu. I want him to get some permanent damage from Garp. It'd feel weird if Doc Q or anyone else just brings him up to full strength quickly. Even if he's not in his prime anymore, him hitting should have a lasting effect. And since the Island itself can easily be repaired it'd feel so unfair if Garp dies and the "only" thing he leaves behind is his will.
I was just thinking about how far Helmeppo has come, awesome to see him get the recognition. Also, while watching I'm usually on a drive home from work, doing dishes, or playing on the computer.
I agree Garp won't die. Only a true main antagonist should kill someone so close to Luffy. So for narrative purposes it ought to be Blackbeard. But I give it better than even odds for him to lose and get captured.
Three things: 1. The epithet "Lazy justice" was only acquired after the O'hara incident, implying that he was indeed very active before this moment. (I believe it was "Burning Justice" before, correct me if I'm wrong). 2. With the fight with Akinu, what always impressed me was not the fact that Sakazuki won, but the fact that Aokiji lasted 3 days against someone who had the clearly superior devil fruit in terms of compatibility. This told me that Aokiji must be more than the powerhouse devil fruit user that we've seen so far. Although at this moment it also makes me think that all the admirals must be pretty good heavy hitters with Haki to compete with the top of the world fighters regardless of if they showcase their devil fruits more. (Also, regardless of if you like them or not popularity wise). 3. This is just personal preference, but it's been heavily implied that Aokiji was Sengoku's pupil and i think i would've preferred it to play out that way. Not that he couldn't have been both their student but that it feels like we hear less about Sengoku than Garp so more backstory on him and Aokiji would have been nice imo. Plus, it just makes a nice dichotomy between Koby and Kuzan with Garp and Sengoku.
"You have a habit of raising enemies" hit me really hard, almost as hard as the Garp and Kuzan hit each other on the following page. Also, to answer your question I often watch these videos while cleaning, playing a video game, or sometimes just while I'm eating.
Another minor thing this chapter does is set up Pizzaro and Shiryu as the top dogs of the crew (along with Burgess), so I’d say that these guys are gonna be opponents for Sanji and Zoro respectively ( with Jimbei taking on Burgess)
I think there's a pretty high chance that Garp will die, but I feel like Kuzan himself doesn't want that. It'll either be an unfortunate consequence of him seeking his own justice that will fill him with sorrow, or he'll be completely livid from inadvertently playing a part in his death. Also since you asked, when I watch these videos I'm usually either playing a game on the side like Master Duel, or just eating dinner at the end of the day :)
@@timurjack8773 garp repeatedly said to luffy & ace "you're gonna become a great marine one day!" He wants to have a protege, that's why he's very protective of Colby, willing to risk his life to save him, calling him "future of the marine"
My 2 thoughts on this were yep Garp let Shiryu stab him or it'd have just bounced off armament haki, as good as Shiryu is, if Garp is defending against it, I'd presume he's got some of the strongest haki in the series. Second thought, whether Moria helps the marines or Blackbeard pirates or himself, imagine if he takes Garps shadow and swallows it himself
I most usually use these videos as a sort of opposite bedtime story. Rather, a wakeuptime story. As I get my clothes gathered and my jewelry on for the day. It's either GLR, Ohara, or BDA Law (and sometimes all of you) providing me one piece knowledge in the mornings.
I really loved the short scene were garb and aokiji were punching ships, when they first started garp punch was the loudest but with time aokiji punch got on the same level Also i feel bad for the blackbeard pirate because even IF they kill garp the headline on the news paoer will still be the egghead incident wich has yet to play out

@angumakifor2355 wrong he's in this very chapter on page 4 dumbass he's only been named in the anime but he's shown many times in the manga stop spreading misinformation
I still really wished Gard had 4 crowns instead of 3. Him and Sengoku alike due to their reputations and long service. The current admirals could stay on 3, while Sakazuki being current Fleet admiral will have 5 crowns. This would be great as it indicates Luffy still has room to grow before reaching Garp status, and Akainu having 5B bounty gives him same pedestal as Roger and WB.

I know! it gave me the same feeling of doom I had when Whitebeard was first stabbed. I don't want this big loveable old fart to die 😭 I was really hoping for a reunion between him and Luffy 💔
Garp addressing Koby as the "hope of the next generation" gives me the idea tha Oda might find a way to add another timrskip to get everyone to their max final war strength or mini time skip/ flashback
I don’t think Garp is going to die, I think we will see an admiral of the purple variety with one of the five stars since we know teach is on the hit list, and where would you first search for an emperor of the sea? No better place than there main base. I have a feel Garp will be Reprimanded for this in a vary serious manner.
Garp is definitely waving a few flags this chapter. He's hitting all the major beats that Whitebeard did at Marineford. I don't want him to die here, though, and that's mostly because I don't think there is enough of an empathetic link with Koby (like we had with Luffy) to make Garp dying feel like it's fulfilling a greater purpose in the story. I would need a little bit more before now from Koby, or maybe how Garp's death effects Kuzan would be enough, but it just doesn't feel like the right time with the right audience for Garp to die.
@@axethical That's probably because Kuzan got a bit soft, and couldn't land the final blow, meanwhile, Akainu remained indifferent and saw it through the end.
How Garp with Kuzan trained was beastly af and how much Garp is doing at the same time is crazy but damn they're throwing hands while Koby not looking too hot here plus Prince Grus made me laugh some also Shiryu that sneaky rat bastard
I still am holding out on the idea that Dragon is not Garp’s biological son even if Garp calls him “son”. Dragon just looks WAY too much like Xebec for them not to be related. I think whatever happened in God valley, the resolution must have had something to do with a compromise of adoptions. Roger adopting Shanks, a (possible) celestial dragon, and Garp adopting Dragon, a (possible) son of the worst pirate
I never thought Aokiji would be physically that strong goes to show how much more stronger Akainu's gonna be, this does Ace a bit of justice because a lot of people think he's weak.
Aokiji went toe to toe with Akainu for 10 days against the counter to his DF. I think the current Garp is a powerhouse, but his stamina is declining at his age. It just seems like the BB pirates are an overwhelming force now that Garp is injured. Lastly, for the longest time, I thought Aokiji was a double agent, and if he is, he is really playing the part. Aokiji punched his mentor in the face as hard as he could and watched him get skewered in the gut. Great chapter!
One Piece is simple with power levels. If you are a strong devil fruit user, you automatically are strong physically! Remember how much punching it took Luffy to bring down a mere Ceaser Clown? If you are strong physically, you will be a strong devil fruit and Haki user. Big Mom and Sabo are good examples of this! Even our SH trio got very strong at haki very quickly because they were strong physically!
“I have failed you Aokiji, I have failed you” “I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THE WOLRD GOVERNMENT WERE PLOTTING TO TAKE OVER” “Aokiji, Emperor Blackbeard is evil!” “FROM MY POINT OF VIEW, THE WORLD GOVERNMENT IS EVIL”
Pretty sure that when Garp gets stabbed by Hiryu, Hiryu was already looking for openings to hit Garp; so when Koby got distracted Hiryu was already aware Garp would step in between. Hence 'he was aiming for me"
I don't think we'll see Garp die, lose most likely, but not die yet. I feel there is one last good moment of Luffy confronting him about the events of Marienford, as well is probably the one person who could give us actual answers on what happened at God Valley. Though if the next chapter is a flash back to god valley, well so long Garp.
It’s funny seeing Pizarro pulling a Pica moment with the giant stone hand in the final double spread. I also noticed Tashigi looking over in that direction. She’s no Zoro so we can definitely say she won’t be slashing the hand into pieces. (Even though we all really want her to)
@@JustDrew1176 yeah that's a deeply personal problem between luffy and sakazuki. sakazuki remains the only one who completely broke luffys will. this fight is bound to happen!!!

I'm so interested to know Kuzan's true motives now. I don't believe he's truly on Blackbeard's side, but he's willing to possibly kill his mentor to solidify his place. He gets more and more fascinating every time he's in a chapter. And the way he told Garp that he seems to raise traitors/enemies before punching him was fucking _cold._ Pun not even intended, that was a harsh line.

we should not forget that Luffy was thrown into a forest by Garp, when he was a Child and not able to controll his powers. So Luffy learned as a child to fight those animals with his pure strengh and later on he learned to controll his fruit powers. we should not underestimate Luffy. you can also see that strengh of his in Wano Prison, when his fruit powers where canceled and he solely worked with his muscles
I really hope Garp doesn't die at least without Luffy meeting him again. Luffy would be heartbroken. He may fear his granddad, but I'm fairly certain he loves him as well.
I really can’t see Garp getting killed, if that does happen… it would leave me with buckets of tears 😭😭😭 even if it had a greater purpose 😢 I do see where you’re going with this and i like what you’re thinking! Keep up the good work! Btw i like to watch your video’s whilest smoking and relaxing when back from work.
I feel like it would be a shitty move to kill Garp here. It might make sense as a motivation to Coby or something, but it would be really cliche. (I.E. Jiraya, Hiruzen, Yamamoto, lots of other old guys who were super strong dying without really doing too much in the grand scheme of things) I also don’t think Aokiji should be evil or actually on BB’s side. It would make him seem shallow and petty that after losing to Akainu, he goes and joins the very embodiment of the thing he hated as a marine, a true pirate who kills whoever he likes. Aokiji is the one who saved Robin and wanted to save the other refugees on O’Hara, spared the strawhats, saved Smoker, etc.
Imagine sakazuki coming from inside the ship, saying i am only here because my daughter told me to (hibari)... And then goes Saving everyone but garp still dies
Something that was not mentioned in this video is the setup at the beginning with Battleship Bags foreshadowed the clashing and that the flashback actually shows Kuzan's subtle progression: It goes from pow to thud to BAM like Garps. Coby was useless in the chapter which I find fustrating, but you know he's soft heart and that almost got him killed. I'm just assuming that either his O-haki is low or bc his guard got lowered so did his O-haki and that's why he couldn't read the deception. I find it funny that after they clash Garp is just laying on the ground like "Ugh that's incovenient"
Answering the final question, while I listen I am usually drawing or working in my webcomic, gotta have a lot of content to listen when you draw for hours. Hell, I even listened to almost the entire Reverie.
Dude admirals are below yonkos that is why Oda introduced God knights. Aramaki piss in his paint because of Shanks and garp can beat Aokizi if it was 1 on 1 . Admirals are below yonkos that is why their bounties are 3 billion berries . To take out single yonko they use full force of marine and even then they weren’t able to save marineford
People have been sleeping on admirals, period, not just since Wano. They're definitely not Yonko level but they're fairly close. Of course Ryokugyu ran from Shanks. He expected to fight one weakened Yonko crew, not the weakened crew AND a fresh Yonko crew. He's not stupid. The community is dumb tbh. On the one hand, people say Akainu could beat Kaido, which is the most stupid shit I've ever heard and on the other, they say admirals are frauds, which is also pretty stupid.
@@chilpeepsoda introduced the god knights because the marines will no longer be funded by the WG because of akainu if both of them seperate the WG would need more people
@@chilpeepsthe admirals have 3billiom berries bounty for multiple reason firstly the cross guild don’t have the same amount of cash the WG do to spread around secondly a yonko’s bounty isn’t only determined through strength though strength does hold some factor the main factors are the sheer amount of man power they have which is why mihawk has a 3.5 billion berries bounty whilst shanks has 4 billion also law and Kidd have 3billion berries bounty does that mean they are equal to luffy?
If Garp does die, then I would like: - Luffy to realize that he took his grandfather for granted just how Boruto was wrong about his dad. - The SH & the marines to join forces to avenge him regardless of the risk. - Those who were close to Garp to feel sorry for Luffy & Dragon, and allow them to give Garp the burial he deserves.

@@jakoblent4694 With Luffy as an Emperor, I believe he should receive the same special treatment Shanks has. And being Garp's grandson may help him with that.
I recently saw a theory from a UA-camr (I forgot which one😅) who said aokiji could betray BB because of the way BB pirate commanders are named (Ten Titanic commanders) and because of Aokiji’s devil fruit, and as we know in real life the titanic was sunken because of an iceberg so i’d say pretty good theory.
*Luffy* didn't count Garp as his family / nakama while crying about Ace before the timeskip, so I can't imagine how much this would impact him and the Mugiwara crew... But, for *Coby...* now Garp's death would _really_ break something inside of him.
I actually think Kuzan is stronger than Sakazuki, devil fruits removed. Think about it. Sakazuki had a huge advantage with his DF, basically the perfect counter, and Kuzan still managed to almost win and push the fight to 10 days long. Its like Kuzan chose scissors and Sakazuki chose rock and Kuzan still managed to almost win 😅
I like to think that Sakazuiki actually “lost”. Aokiji dropped his guard at the last moment when Sakazuiki seemed to give up only for him to grab his leg, snaching the “win” in a dishonorable way.
I'd imagine he'd angry that he wasn't the one to do it. His failure at Amazon Lily, his failure at obtaining Law's Devil Fruit, and now a missed chance to beat Garp.
I think the story might take a turn like the past in the coming chapters, where a pirate (Present=luffy, past=roger) and a marine(present=koby, past=garp) join hands to defeat one evil pirate(present=blackbeard, past=Rocks D xebeck). it just seems very plausible considering "legacies" in one piece

Great video
On the Akainu being stronger tip. Not necessarily...it was a ten day battle, so really it was a matter of endurance, not just strength.
Two other possibilities...perhaps Akainu is the better tactician and had a strategy geared at winning.
Second... maybe the fight was just a set up for Kuzan's undercover work to truly be believable.
(Somebody has to be the strongest in punch manga, so likely Akainu is simply the stronger dude, but I like exploring other possibilities)
Garp Wont Die he will suffer something far worse been shown how he and his so called justice started all of this and how he is on the wrong side.

real change, real justice only happens when people take seas the wheel of fate with there own two hands, you keep claiming justice will previal and how your a force for good, you have always been on the wrong side as wile Roger, the old man, your son, your grandson and your former student are out there making a change what have you really done, nothing.
you stopped rocks and that was about it and even then how much was more roger than you, then you sat on your leash watching idly as roger changed the world, watched as ace was executed, watched as whitebeard reignited the spark, watched as dragon and luffy are challenge the false gods to a fight, all you do is watch while true legends change the world.
and now you can see your true idle self i think its time for a public execution.

It’s so sad to think about, considering Garp’s death might be by the hands of his own student.
Then you come to find out none of them became actual enemies.
That’s why Koby is such a prized student with a pure heart wanting to be an admiral
Garp giving me Star Wars vibes with students becoming evil.
Garp's situation is the definition of "You have to win every time. We only have to win once."

I really loved the moment young Garp dismissed Kuzan's request by saying he valued his freedom. Ironic, given his criticism of his son and grandson's career paths, but more proof that the Will of D is both inherited and generational.
Underrated comment

Maybe its odd but the strength of Kuzan didn't surprise me in the slightest. I am by no means a power scaler but I always figured both his Strength as well as his dexterity were top tier simply due to him riding a bicycle on solid ice between islands. That's gotta be a serious workout in itself.
Leg day everyday
I’ll say this now in the one piece world you don’t be an Admiral by being weak.
Garp's son turns into a revolutionary, Garp's grandson turns into a pirate, and Garp's disciple finally turns into a respectable marine and good admiral but then he betrays the marine and joins the worst pirate in the world, F to Garp but we know he still got another disciple that is probably going to surpass him
Don't forget that Ace also became a pirate
Yeah your disciple joining the crew of the people who were the reason the person who you considered your grandson must hurt
Black beard is far from the worst pirate
Aokiji really became what nobody expected
Edit: I am not saying he is a villain its just that he is unpredictable

i still believe he's up to something
He became his destiny

I feel like that's gonna backfire
As I said on another comment, Pizaro's last speech sounds like a "celebrate too soon" moment ngl.
I rewatched the first couple episodes of the anime yesterday. And went back and saw Coby when he was introduced at the start again. And I shed a tear at how far he’s come.
It really is stupid beautiful. Odas love for his characters is next level.
This chapter does a lot for those of us in the “the admirals are underrated” camp. Thank you Oda!
Ace mad af watching Garp do everything to save Koby
He should have been a marine then, not a donut.
I really don’t see Garp dying. Blackbeard could use him as the bargaining tool to become affiliated with the World Government. And you could still have Koby develop with the loss of Garp without killing him.
yes
I think this will happen in the background like ace was handed over to world government.
That's a really good point that I never thought of.
I agree. I think BBS plan will go ahead the same just with Garp instead of Koby

However, I truly believe that despite his efforts, Blackbeard is going to be the one who kills Garp for two reasons, the first is to make the WG/marines look really bad, damaging their public face because they failed to support him in saving a hero to the public aka Coby.
It so sad to see that everyone (almost) that Garp mentored has turned against him
Probably because Garp was wrong. Old codger should have realized that by now.

Luffy still needs a direct reason to fight BB, and kidnapping Garp+Coby would definitely do it.

Luffy's strength doesn't just come from his devil fruit. You can see a lot of pre-timeskip examples of luffy's raw strength without using any sort of stretching mechanics. Garp,GRU,Colby, and Helmempo were the diversion team
Kajaku says they are ready to set sail but Pizzaro sees a Ship(the one that was in the Plazza) already out at Sea and Garp's fall back orders is to run to the Coast with Gru putting in work instead of making his Golem Army.........very suspicious indeed
My guess I'd the ship at Sea is a Golem, the Ship in the Plaza is a Golem and the Distraction crew got fast swapped with Golems right after Garp and Akoiji punched each other
I knew that garp will die back when Sengoku said “where’s garp he really wanted to taste these rice crackers.” Which is a way to feel extra sad for garp in hindsight.
Actual he said he wanted him to try a new flavor of crackers but I know what u mean bro
Can't wait to see Sengoku's cup cracked and their photo fall off the desk.

@@prophetthedon4154can you explain me?
Lol he's not gonna die here. Kuzan will save him for the long run.
Garp will not die or lose this fight. This will be the first big loss for the BB pirates.
Why u think so?
Technically Jesus B in dressrosa was the BBP first loss (impel down doesn’t count since BB was in the process of recruiting)
I agree Garp won't die. Only a true main antagonist should kill someone so close to Luffy. So for narrative purposes it ought to be Blackbeard. But I give it better than even odds for him to lose and get captured.
@@bearzerger i think thry cutting limbs off him
Magellan one shotted all of them lol
Three things:
I also just dont see Aokiji punching a ship everyday, where as someone like Koby has that determination.
I believe it was 10 days. 3 days was whitebeard and Roger. 5 days I believe was Jinbei and Ace fight.
@@coronbrown9238 ok
@@barodrinksbeer7484 I can agree with that, but here we are. Author says
"You have a habit of raising enemies" hit me really hard, almost as hard as the Garp and Kuzan hit each other on the following page.
Also, to answer your question I often watch these videos while cleaning, playing a video game, or sometimes just while I'm eating.
Another minor thing this chapter does is set up Pizzaro and Shiryu as the top dogs of the crew (along with Burgess), so I’d say that these guys are gonna be opponents for Sanji and Zoro respectively ( with Jimbei taking on Burgess)
idk pizzaro isnt really set up as a top dog imo - i think hes going to get stopped by kuzan next chapter and we see that he can be taken out easily
Garp has some incredibly bad luck. His son, grandson, his rival's son and his best student became his enemies. I don't know how he keeps up
coincidence? i think not, i think garp largely teaches the importance of freedom
Whitebeard wanted a family and he got it. Garp only wants a son instead he made enemies.
Who said Garp wants a son? He didn't even want an apprentice, Aokiji forced him into it, Garp basically didn't care them until he got old
@@timurjack8773 garp repeatedly said to luffy & ace "you're gonna become a great marine one day!" He wants to have a protege, that's why he's very protective of Colby, willing to risk his life to save him, calling him "future of the marine"
When you've been waiting for a new chapter for weeks then Oda hits your anxiety with a galaxy punch that you can't even turn to the next page. 🙃
The Blackbeard crew fight more like traditional pirates than any other crew, they're so damn sneaky and shameless lol
I really loved the short scene were garb and aokiji were punching ships, when they first started garp punch was the loudest but with time aokiji punch got on the same level
Also i feel bad for the blackbeard pirate because even IF they kill garp the headline on the news paoer will still be the egghead incident wich has yet to play out

Don't worry garp isnt finished yet hes still taking on admiral level hes a beast
He has to die to give rise to the next generation.
Just like how Whitebeard die and broke the floodgates to the Worst Generation
Garp addressing Koby as the "hope of the next generation" gives me the idea tha Oda might find a way to add another timrskip to get everyone to their max final war strength or mini time skip/ flashback
Right, I've often thought there would be another time skip. But it seems less likely the further we go on.

Every time you called Prince Grus "Gru" I pictured him as Gru more and more and I want that as a graphic in your videos now.
Crazy thing that we ain't even see their awakening yet, which they 99% most likely have
Much more ?
Aokiji and akainu are equals clown
And thus darth kuzan was born, well kuzan would technically be a gray jedi at this point
This is actually PERFECT
Pretty sure that when Garp gets stabbed by Hiryu, Hiryu was already looking for openings to hit Garp; so when Koby got distracted Hiryu was already aware Garp would step in between.
Hence 'he was aiming for me"
Shiryu*

At this point I am loving the idea of jango and full body to pick up the battle ship training to impress hina. They have the best bromance.
we should not forget that Luffy was thrown into a forest by Garp, when he was a Child and not able to controll his powers. So Luffy learned as a child to fight those animals with his pure strengh and later on he learned to controll his fruit powers. we should not underestimate Luffy. you can also see that strengh of his in Wano Prison, when his fruit powers where canceled and he solely worked with his muscles
Who forgot?

Clowns. You both need Jesus
This one would be reaally interesting. Sakazuki being tsuru’s son in law
I hope Kuzan keeps getting moments like these to shine because people have been sleeping on the admirals since Wano.

I assumed BB was going to beat Garp and mock him by saying how he defeated Ace
I'd imagine he'd angry that he wasn't the one to do it. His failure at Amazon Lily, his failure at obtaining Law's Devil Fruit, and now a missed chance to beat Garp.
