Blackbeards original DF is definitely a mythical Zoan. Now that that statement got your attention, it would probably be a kraken or something. This would explain why BB gave Shanks that weird 3 pronged scar. He has a guantlet like cats claw weapon with 3 blades. As an adult, he carries 3 guns, with his beard being kept in 3 braids and also has 3 skulls on his jolly roger. A hint to BB already in possession of a DF that granted him the ability to stock 2 additional fruits. This seems like a more rational explanation rather than BB getting the darkness Logia and then enacting his plan to betray Whitebeard. This would explain BB's ability to have multiple DFs as well, if he had found/been given the Kraken Mythical Zoan, it's special ability could be the intake of 3 overall fruits Since Octopi possess 3 hearts, Oda can equate this to BB having his soul split into thirds, with each being able to wield it's own individual DF. This could make BB the most dangerous person on the seas, being a Mythical Zoan that possesses both Logia and Paramecia powers. It would be vastly simpler to sit back and cruise on Whitebeards crew if he can not find the Darkness Logia. Because the Darkness Logia is the key to his plans, it allows him to steal DF abilities and also nullify DF abilities from DF users. Being a Zoan, even a Mythical Zoan, does not guarantee one victory. Kaido is a gigantic dragon, yet he was on a crew that rivaled Kaido's crew. So the risk of enacting his plan isn't worth it unless BB knows for sure that he can get his grubby little hands on the Darkness Logia.

And the long range communication could be a huge boon as well and allow a level of communication and coordination that exceeds what your enemies are capable of.
Your wrong about the forest fruit being bad at sea. Wood floats and he can control it. What stops him creating some kind of nature boat? Using it for offence and defense... like the rubber fruit (gear 2 and 3 AND 4) its all how you use it
i think vascos natural opponent would be jimbe, considering how fishman can control water, vasco can also light his liquor on fire.. maybe he’s too weak for jimbe but i think there are parallels that should not be ignored
and i think the mochi fruit isnt super confusing, he can turn his body into mochi but he isnt always mochi itself, when van auger shot ace his body is technically always fire, right? so it passed through him without ace having to use his power, but kat has to will his body into being mochi. i think crocodile stating that he reflexively turns his body into sand through training has been retconned as the series has progressed. kats awakening turns the environment around him into mochi which is the signature characteristic of paramecia awakening.
luffys fruit turning his body into rubber all the time is a characteristic of a logia, though this may also apply to the diamond fruit of jozu as well. but he doesn’t need to be hit with haki to be damaged, but haki is the only way he can feel pain, along with heat as seen with his fight with enel. luffy also has his gear 4 hybrid form, and his gear 5 awakened form, which is characteristic of zoans, although you don’t normally have to be awakened to achieve the full transformation as luffy. when he is awakened he also turns the environment around him into rubber which is characteristic of a paramecia.

In my understanding this is what is happening . Sugar cant live forever , her devil's fruit just changed her DNA so as to never allow puberty to hit , this kinda makes sense with our understanding of how fruits change the users Lineage factor (DNA).
So it's not a case of the fruit changing her as an organism on a fundamental level by giving her the power to undo any genetic damage and/or to replicate cells perfectly . That would be something more akin to the ope ope no mi , this is would really be "not aging".
But sugar is not that , she just can't become an adult , which is not the same as not aging , growth and puberty are not directly caused by getting older, it's a a whole physiological process , it's triggered by hormones and controlled by genes , it's something that is coded into us and is something out bodies are actively implementing , we don't get taller because our cells get older , we have a specific hormone that controls that .
