Garp was basically saying if they ever get in a situation where they're overwhelmed that they should just leave him behind. He is a real hero
Even more than that it shows he knows his bone headed pupils will absolutely try to rescue him regardless. When he tells Koby not to second guess himself I thought two things: first, I read it as "This no time for your bs Koby, I said do it" and second, like Kamina from Guren Lagan, Garp basically told em believe in the you that I believe in
Garp reminded me of the old man rule in anime ( they are over powered )
thats pirate code talk right there
he said so much more than that.
this chapter completed the set up for the final war.
It's the original idea behind one piece, what Oda always wanted to arrive at.
IT TOOK 20+ YEARS TO ARRIVE HERE!
there is the world government led by imu and the 5 stars, who want to keep the world as it is.
there is dragon with the revolutionary army, who want to change the world right now
there is now koby and the "good marines", the heirs of Garp's will, who are sacrificing the present for the best future possible for everyone.
Then there are the emperors
the old school, honorable, yet spookily ruthless and scheming red hair pirates, who want to fulfill a 20+ year long plan.
the new school of the blackbeard pirates, hardcore cheaters with a big dream, ready to anything to see it fulfilled.
the cross guild, which demonstrated that a new power is already possible and rallied tha masses permanently destabilizing the world.
and finally the strawhats, which embody something entirely different, a new type of dream, the great change the world needs.
(we still don't know luffy's exact dream)
MAJESTIC SET UP, MASTER ODA.
He didnt "basically say" it, he literally said it.
Koby and Luffy teaming up to fight the black beard pirates would be this generations God valley incident
Coby Vs Kuzan incoming ? Two former students. Leading to Aokiji’s betrayal . (titanic fell to an iceberg)

@@Ragul1245 I would think a team up with the revolutionary army would be better for a fight against imu

That line and panel turned me from a fan to a super fan of Coby. This whole sequence gave me Kamina and Simon vibes from Gurren Lagann.
Garp was the only one on the island that wasn’t surprised at Coby’s strength. Lol even Coby was surprised.

@@1rrel171 We wll see, only time will tell. I think its gonna be more like Garp/Roger but who knows at this point. (I personally think Garp, Roger, and Whitebeard were all on the same level)
A great way to interpret Conquerors haki is that instead of “One in a million being born with it” you could say that “One in a million people end up with the will to achieve it”
I like this significantly better and it removes any potential plotholes with introducing future conqueror's users.
Yes. I was just thinking this exact thing watching this video.
It also makes more sense as to why more people in the late game have it. They aggregate to the top because of their strong wills.
Very nicely put
I’ve been saying this for years!! Everyone “has” conqueror’s Haki in this world, I think it may be connected to df and how dreams become reality, but only a few have the will strong enough to actually exhibit conqueror’s haki
It's funny how helmepo threatened to shoot coby with a gun way back when, but in this chapter he takes a cannon ball for coby.

I think he is 100% dead. His smile fits way to much, if you consider how members of the D clan die.

@@Colaschnittchen They make that smile when they think they are about to die, not because of of some advance knowledge. I could see this being like Luffy's smile in Logtown. He smiled at death, but was saved/not killed in the end. There are many characters who have been frozen by Kuzan and been ok.
@@ColaschnittchenNot necessarily, Luffy smiled at Loguetown but he was saved after all
Marines are definitely a threat now, before now they were neglected, but now in the final saga they are on the spot light which I just love! Oda is on his A game!
Any one piece reader knew this from the start only the agenda pushers didn't want to admit this
Disagree with this. Corrupt marines should not be as strong as luffy. Especially not Koby.

@@dandyman204bartolomeu died?
I think my favorite part of this chapter is Koby’s internal monologue right before he punched Pizarro. He looks so much like Luffy in that panel and I love it. Koby is Him
I honestly liked Koby's name for his attack. His first major step as a character was being honest in the face of danger by telling Alvida what he really thought of her. He was also the only one who had the courage to tell Akainu to his face that continuing the battle was wrong. Koby's honesty is a reflection of his intense will, and now that will is reflected in his attacks. Great character development.
The "I-Have-No-Regrets" Impact.
I hope Viz goes for Honest Fist, sounds cooler to me than Honesty Impact
It also just fits that even as a big-time hero, Koby is still too humble to try to make his attack names sound badass.
Koby's character development is like the MC of typical shonen manga. It can be made a whole seperate manga circling him
"A powerless wanna-be hero gets trained by the top hero to become a powerful hero himself?"
Is that Koby or Midoriya?
@@koldraiynedownskayle5744 you tell me which came first?
Garp holding off half of a Yonko crew, the half that
also has Aokiji nonetheless. People need to realise
just how damn impressive this is. Holding of an admiral level character is an immense feat alone. Rayleigh holding off just Kizaru was legendary & fitting of a man of his stature who hadn't fought in 20 years.
BUT... Holding off an Admiral level character AND half a Yonko crew single-handedly WHILE ALSO doing serious damage to them is absolutely unheard of. On top of the damn fact he's also protecting others which makes things even more difficult! This is more than fitting for a man who was in the original Top 3 with Roger and Whitebeard. Garp is an utter monster
I agree with this copy pasta
Yeah he is strong, but imagine Kaido being in Garps place there. Literally killing the entire Blackbeard crew

Coming to think of it.. Coby along the story has been an extremely pure hearted kid put into a lot of traumatising moments in which he had to choose to act in order to protect others. Thus, him awakening different kinds of haki (first observation as mantra in Marineford, and now CoC) is just proof of his pure character and strong will.
I agree. Of all the characters coby seems the best intentioned. He has as big a heart as any member of the straw hats but seems to lack any kind of selfishness. Humble hard working and determined.
He doesn’t have coc
@@strawboyhawkins3 i mean we saw black lightnings specific to CoC infused attacks when he threw that punch. This seems to be the general consensus among the community, but we can't be sure ofc
CoC build is neccessary for endgame. So everyone need to activate this skill tree asap. I can't wait for sogeking returns with his majesty CoC
This is also why honesty is the perfect theme for Coby to have. Everything he can do now, he learned by pure, honest work.
It also explains Garp's galaxy theme to me. He has been the hero of the marines for half his life, a larger than life figurehead. But like a galaxy most of this title feels empty to Garp because he had to team up with a pirate in order to take Rocks down.
man, this run of chapters of cutting away from the straw hats has been absolutely jaw dropping. Can't wait to see whats gonna go down on Egghead. Ive been a Koby fan since I started the manga, so seeing my boy do so well is so rewarding.
What I like in this chapter is that it shows that koby is not a rookie anymore but became a real menace for even the big pirates. It is really surprising to see him becoming so strong in juste 1 chapter but personally it makes me happy to see that koby is not a forgotten hero

I'm still holding out hope that Kuzan didn't actually kill Garp so that Teach could still use him to replace Koby as a hostage for his Hachinosu Kingdom plan, but really, Blackbeard would just be handing the Five Elders that one good reason to justify finally getting rid of Garp that they've been wanting for at least forty years - that no Marine is ever worth granting a pirate the legitimacy of the World Government. But what happens when the Government abandons Garp? Does Teach make the call to try kidnapping a Celestial Dragon? There's no way the Five Elders would sacrifice one of their own to deny Blackbeard, right? I mean, they'd probably just defer to Imu, who would probably tell them to abandon whoever Blackbeard kidnaps.

I think on of the most impressive (and also terrifying) things about Koby is his rise of power in such a short time. He's only been starting his training for 3 years, 3 YEARS!!!
Everyone else has had a 10+ year headstart, yet he's gotten this far in only 3? 🤯

I mean the is the "HERO OF THE MARINES" lol
@@Ginglover9000I'm like 50-70% certain that is what Oda is planning.
I actually think that moral lesson flashback was for Kuzan. What if he is willing to abandon the "old man", meaning the current marines, for a better future. I still think he is a spy playing the long game, waiting for that one key moment to turn the tables. Sacrificing his image, being called a traitor is something he is willing to do if that means he can achieve his goals. That in itself is noble. He does the dirty work, what needs to be done. Not a lazy justice, but a long, silent, arduous justice.
I also feel Kuzan is playing the long game
This color spread is one of my favorites. And I love that you can tell that it’s not only the East Blue 5 but the East Blue 5 from Arlong Park. Maybe ever. This did not feel like a death for Garp. It felt like the setup for another Luffy rescue mission. But I'm going to predict this rescue will be successful because the rest of the Straw Hats will be there. And he won't be fighting against other Marines as we say in this chapter, they’re reticent to go against a Yonko.
Helmeppo and Grus are perfect sidekicks for Koby. Helmeppo had the lowest bar to clear but my favorite line was when Garp and the three of them are left behind and he complains about being doomed and how he should've left with the others. But he didn't, he stayed with his teacher and peers even tho he was scared.
And Grus makes up for Kobys bleeding heart, showing he is more able to make hard decisions. Plus seeing himself as a rival to Koby even tho he is technically higher rank than Koby is a really neat dynamic. He knows Kobys strength better than Koby himself. Overall the whole SWORD crew is fantastic and you can see how Koby is the glue of the team
Helmeppo, Koby, and Grus are a power team
SWORD monster Trio?
@@koldraiynedownskayle5744 I believe Helmeppo and Grus more or less mirror Zoro and Sanji and while Helmeppo hasn't shown much, he did attack Zoro that one time which is ballsy. Also he was the only one other than Grus to stay behind with Garp and Grus so while he has Ussop syndrome I think Oda has been implying he is quite strong since he has been trying to keep pace with Koby
The colour spread sanji was super innocent looking despite not being such an innocent man
That trade absolutely makes total sense. Obviously BB would rather have a valuable individual like Koby over some throw away grunts and a big ship he's never gonna use. Plus BB does whatever intrigues him and I can't imagine he would pass up the chance to test Kobys assumption about his own value to the Marines. That's the strength that comes from holding all the cards, you can pretty much do whatever you want.
My personal interpretation of Conquerer’s Haki has always been that it’s directly tied to Ambition. Other types of Haki can be simply taught through techniques and instruction, but CoC required that extra but if oomph that is an inherent part of your personality, and thus you cannot simply learn it, you have to have the right mindset, thus creating that illusion that you must be born with it.
I don’t think Koby was born with much of anything. But his raw ambition in trying to train and meet Garp’s expectations is what allowed him to unlock it.
If a chapter has me making loud exaggerated noises to express the action on thecpage it's a 10/10 Koby and Garp had me going insane.
For someone like Garp, I reckon BB pirates will go all out with a grand display of his execution. That would send quite the message to the world if they did, and would be a perfect way have an all-out war begin, given both the Marines and Luffy have big stake in this situation.
Well yea but they dont really have a way to keep him in check unless they want to execute a block of ice which well wouldnt make even as much as half the impression

I think Island Island fruit works kinda like Hawkins' giant strawman works. It just the "doll" this time is the island.
It makes sense I suppose, there's got to be a trade-off because otherwise the island fruit seems like a way more powerful (in terms of area of effect) version of picas fruit: so it seems that yeah it is an upgraded version but that comes at the cost of taking on physical damage from the island
THANK YOU FINALLY, I’ve always been a believer that coc is an ability that can be awakened rather than just having to be born with it because it never made sense to me that with all the ambition Zoro had he never used it and the when he showed it in Wano it seemed more along the lines of hose Luffy learned to use adv armament rather than when he awakened his coc at marineford, it’s so nice to finally hear a content creator share the same belief
My thoughts on conquerer's haki: even if you are born with it, you still have to awaken it and the absurd levels of will and single-minded dedication required to do so is why there are so few users. There is probably a large fraction of the population walking around the One Piece-verse capable of conquerer's but since the conditions of awakening are so extreme, it remains inert
I think awakening Conqueror's is mostly about ambition. This is what Oda has been hinting all along.
Obviously the whole training, dedication, blood sweat tears, hardwork, fighting to the death etc.. are also factored in as major triggers, but most importantly, one needs to have an ambition to awaken their Conqueror's mindset.
@@nwing07__ exactly- personally I think this is the first time Coby has been able to to do it kinda like when it auto-activated for Luffy during the summit war

In 4:00 , i think there is an explanation why black beard exchanged all marines by koby. He might've known that koby is Garp's protégé and wanted Garp to go after him so he could get a much bigger fish to have an even higher bargain power
But then are the Five Elders willing to play ball? They're the ones who'd have to approve Hachinosu as a World Government affiliate. There are too many reasons that even Garp is worthless to Teach! The Marines are the stated public face of the World Government, so they would have to declare that no Marine is worth bending the knee to pirates. Not to mention this is a golden opportunity to dispose of Garp once and for all. He's defied them for 40+ years, and he's just been defeated, so they can finally cut bait with no regrets. Plus, if the Government welcomes a nation of pirates now, who knows how many countries will lose faith in the World Government and throw their lot in with the Revolutionary Army's war effort?!
Koby definitely has conquerors. The will to master himself has made him a conquerer in his own right. Its crazy to see how much he has grown as a character.

I think you hit the nail right on the head. I found myself rooting for Helmeppo during this bit on Pirate Island and like you said I guess it's because he is definitely the Usopp of the group. I think my favorite part overall though was after the joke with Grus earlier Garp not only said it to them but all the Marines on the ship that they are the future of the Marines. Was this his plan all along if Ace and Luffy had become Marines would he have given the same speech to them eventually as he passed the reins down?
The whole "only some are born with Conqueror's Haki" might mean that only some are born with the will necessary to manifest it. Anyone *could* manifest Conqueror's Haki, but few will have reason to grow strong enough to do so.
I am still not sure if we should immediately assume that Black Lightning = Conquerors Haki just from the fact that it also appeared when Ulti was charging up for an attack
This is something NO ONE seems to remember. Heck black lightening was even seen with Pan when he was attacking Oven 😂
Yeah it would make no sense for him to have it tbh I’m not even sure garp has it

Because even though they are enemies, i do believe that Luffy loves his gramps just as much as Ace and Sabo. And i do wonder so what Dragons feelings will be here, as we know basically nothing about their relationship.
Now we see Koby as the potential rival to Luffy similar to roger and grap. I think Koby will need alot more feats to compete with gear 5 luffy.
I hope he combines advanced haki with rokushiki
@@calebsolonas6085 in my opinion galaxy impact is just a coqueror infused rokougan
I’ve been saying for years that Koby was going to have Conqueror’s Haki. What I think gets unederplayed by a lot of people is the fact that Koby’s story has always been a parallel to Luffy’s, just on the opposite side of the law. Their journeys began together, they entered the grand line, they both grew as people at Marineford and changed the course of history with their actions despite the fact that they both should have been far too weak to make a difference, both also really began to awaken their haki at the same battle, and at the end of the story, one will be pirate king and the other will be fleet admiral.
Helmeppo-Coby friendship is beautiful. And it all started with Helmeppo putting a gun (Or a weird hammer spring contraption. Depends on what you watch) on Coby's head.
Another cool thing that could get overlooked is how the Island Island fruit seems to work, or at least differ from Pica's stone stone fruit. Pizzaro got hurt when Garp and Koby hit the parts of the island he was having immitate his body, like hollywood voodoo. It might be because they used Haki, but Pica could only be hurt by hitting him IN the stone, Zoro had to cut Pica's stone into bits to narrow down where he was and keep him from escaping and then attack him, because Pica was puppeteering the stone, while Pizzaro seems to have a deeper connection to the island- which makes sense since he seemed to have a sense for the entire island like it was his body but Pica's actions were more like wearing stone like shapeshifting power armor.
So the stone stone fruit seems to control less matter- not much less and pica can move it around so its just as good at terraforming just taking a little slightly longer- and potentially has better defenses because your own body hidden in the stone is the only part that can be hurt, While the Island Island fruit seems to control more, and give you more awareness of the land you are controling, at the cost of a deeper connection, which might be limited to Haki based attacks but maybe not. An advantage to that is potentially the effects could go both ways, letting weird biology quirks or special techniques affect the island, or even make it possible to treat parts of the island as your body for the purposes of Haki. Imagine someone using something like Sanji's Diable Jamble, or Luffy's Red Hawk with the island fruit, a flaming punch or kick the size of a mountain
Yup, I knew this outcome was coming for Garp. The moment he set foot on the island to rescue Koby. Main reason because of the old GL saying. "Like poetry it rhymes!" Everything happening here with the Blackbeard Pirates feels like it is setting things to be similar to what happened years ago in God's Valley with Garp and Gol D. Roger taking out the Rocks Pirates. Luffy and Koby are going to be the ones to take out the Blackbeard Pirates! With the ending of this chapter with Garp going out with a smile, Oden style. Leaving the future up to Koby and the young sword marines. What a badass way for a legendary hero to go out!
I really don’t think Garp is dead.
1. His status is MIA, and knowing how much Oda doesn’t like killing off characters, I think MIA is a hint for future events.
2. Kuzan did the same freezing on Garp as he did to Jaguar D Saul. And interestingly, Jaguar was revealed to be alive because of the freezing 1000 chapters later.
@@yanyanzhang5813 True, that also a possibility. We know both Perona and Moria are probably still on the island. So I would agree death isn't 100% knowing the writer's history. I would note though Oda recent Arcs. Because after the Wano Arc there were a lot of confirmed deaths to characters after that Arc. It made sense for Oda to do this from a writing perspective. I guess my overall main argument is that if Garp is confirmed dead here, it would make sense from a writing and storytelling perspective.
@@WolfmanVsVampire Oda didn’t confirm many deaths though? He said one character MAY die. And I’d bet money that the character is Shanks.

1:58 I feel like most people in that position would realize that a baby really doesn't take up much space and you could probably get all 3 on the boat
I don't know about everybody else, but the one thing that I'm worried about the most that still hasn't been resolved is Moria. If Blackbeard persuades Moria to join him or just takes his Shadow Shadow Fruit, then I could see the Blackbeard Pirates doing some major mental damage with a little bit of grave-robbing and resurrecting Ace as an obedient zombie (and Garp if he does die).
i never really thought about it, but koby having COSK hake makes soo much sense
Giving Koby advanced CoC out of the blue like this really does take away from its legendary status. It’s supposed to be so hard to master that even most of CoC users cannot use the coating as per Kaido but Koby can use it just after training on a battleship.
But his training is training on battleship 200x harder than any normal human can. And punching battleship itself already an inhumane act. If that's not a really top grade willpower, I don't know what can be one. Haki is all about willpower. Not individual strength. So if a weak person has a big and daring ambition, and that person still strives to achieve it even if they know that they are weak, I guess they will have strong haki too. I think this is what Oda want to be the main morale value of his story. Not every people are born the same. Some are stronger, some are weaker. But even if you are weak, if you never give up and keep chasing your dream, you might grow and reach your dream someday. Or you might grow and achieve something that you have never even imagined that you can before.
@@justawanderingoldman7699 When compared it to the likes of Kaido, Shanks, WB, GR and other legendary characters, that feat of punching battleship alone does not seem impressive since other people have been shown to obliterate battleships with ease throughout the series.
I remember when I first started watching One Piece, never did I expect Koby to have a piece in this story. I figured he would just be a fanboy and you'd see him maybe when we got those flashbacks to his old town cheering him on. Then we got training episodes with him meeting Garp, following that into seeing him again after Enes Lobby etc etc. I can't stop looking forward to just how far forward Koby is progressing, with him being in command of all the marines at the very end. I would love to see a team up of him and Luffy rescuing Garp as sort of a second chance for Luffy and for Koby's name to become even more insanely known.
Dang next week we not only get the Strawhats back with the ominous incident in the manga, the anime will also be super hyped with the drums starting. I'm so exited! 🤩

@@Victoria_Viray the Manga will be on a break next week. I don't care that much for the anime :)
@@steffenk1371 oh no. 😢
There's a very similar vibe between Garp and Jiraya i'm feeling, both of them raised pupils who'd eventually "kill" them and their final pupil was the one that ended up carrying on their will.
Future Admiral Koby's mantra will be "Honest Justice"
Koby is the grandson Garp really wanted. I'm not saying he doesn't love Luffy, but Luffy is breaking rules, yet still dealing out justice for no reward. Koby was the perfect mold Garp wanted to shape, and this moment in the manga shows that his teachings will live on in the next generation and hopefully under a true Marine captain getting justice done for people, and not just to keep face.
My Observation Haki is tingling. I feel like Oda is foreshadowing again "A baby and a Old man are stranded on an island full of fierce Beasts, Your on a boat that hold a maximum of two. What do you do". What if...Xebec saved Shanks by placing him in a treasure chest and the *FIERCE BEASTS!!! Was Roger and Garp. That chest was soon acquired by the Roger Pirates, During the Valley incident.
These chapter review videos are always the highlight of my and my husband’s week! Love this one!!
I love that Coby having conquerors haki is a thing now! At the very least he is partnof the discussion
''Kuzan is a f*cking asshole" that's what my mind was screaming when finished reading the chapter.
Kuzan saying that Garp has a habit of raising his most formidable foes and then Chad master Garp replying with "you're expelled, you dunce!!" Was my favorite mini moment of the chapter, and I wonder if the original Japanese text as even more connotation and depth, as it often does.
Koby stood up to FUCKING AKAINU, fully prepared to die for his defiance! We should all feel STUPID for ever thinking he wasn't a Supreme King!
I'll do you one better.
Koby calmly negotiated with blackbeard and then called him delusional to his face with no fear despite being surrounded by him, his crew of notorious impel down criminals and an ex admiral.
Koby, stared down bb, one of the most powerful and dangerous pirates in the world without even flinching.
I feel like Oda hasn't locked in what he wants to happen to Garp, hence the "missing in action", but him getting detained rather being executed is him willingly letting himself be detained
It wasn't in this chapter, but I feel the need to point out how poetic this whole fight was.
At the beginning of the battle Garp told Kuzan that "Those who are indecisive are weak", a direct call back to his own weakness in Marineford.
And now, Koby's decisiveness is what allows them to escape, while the "weak" Garp sacrificed himself to let them go.
Regardless of if Garp dies or not, this is a perfect pass of the baton, it really hits how Koby "surpassed" his mentor in spirit with the contrast between Garp's indecisiveness and Koby's determination.
From years of watching One Piece, If I do not see Garp's Corpse, He is not death.
Considering Garp's importance to series. I believe they would not have left his death to suspense.
Its baffling to see koby go from a chore boy to a pink haired garp
First Kid, then Law and now Garp. Oda really likes getting rid off these 3 000 000 000 men during the Egghead Arc. Makes me wonder who will be next. Luffy? Kizaru?
None of them are probably dead, especially kid and law
With Aokiji’s expression upon Garp’s apparent defeat and you saying that the Blackbeard Pirates should now trust him, I get a mild feeling that this was a SWORD related plan somehow
Maybe Blackbeard initially took Coby because he thought he could turn him. I mean, taking one of the up and rising officers who is already known as a hero and that he's worked with before (for survival, but still), would be a huge shock to the Marines. Of course, it failed because Coby is a good bean of a marine, but Blackbeard likely thought he had a chance at it and hell, why not? In the case Coby doesn't cave and join his crew, he can always be used as tradesies (though, afterwards he learned that he could not, in fact, use Coby as tradesies). Makes sense to me.
Black beard is actively creating ALOT of enemies that he really shouldn't be missing with ( Dragon, Luffy, Sengoku, and by extension all their followers) i really hope it comes crashing down on him all at once...
Keep up the great work and videos Liam
koby feels like the MC of the marines, what a true marine is all about.
Imagine just opening this video 1 year later and the first thing you hear is "He could pull down his pants and turkey slap vice-admiral Yamakaji in the face"😂😂😂😂😂
If black lightings equals conquerers then Ulti has been using it for headbutts (she wasn’t)
That's not the only indicator though. Aside from the black lightning, he was able to destroy the hand without touching it and actually hurting pizzaru himself.
@1rrel171 armament haki can do similar people are jumping the gun about coby having coc which is just not the case
@@dazel3412 by your logic, garp was also just using advance armament right? Because he's basically did what koby did just the previous page.
@@1rrel171 if you look at garp attacks you will see that the black lighting followed through with the attacks and you had very long lighting trails also the sound effects that followed
Coby advance armament first stage to attack without touching and the impact of that fist cut right through the hand
@@dazel3412 it is basically the same thing from them moving towards pizaru, preparing attack with lightning on their fist and hurting pizzaru.
Those lightning you mentioned was probably some inconsistencies because it was a colored panel. Even if it's true, you can't compare the result of the two attacks, Garp has been using acoc years while koby just did this attak probably the first time. But the way it was set up leading towards hurting pizaru was clearly indicator of advance conquerors.
Garp told Coby never doubt yourself in battle. Rayleighs words to Luffy was “to never doubt that’s Power” Once Coby got rid of his doubt he showed his true power.
I wonder how Pizarro will look after Koby kicked his island form ass
Hey GLR, I just need to shout out your artists because they are great, especially the one who does the mix between sort of chibi and regular. The live action Luffy in this style at 1:08 shows how great they are as an artist. And the Koby artworks as well. Superb.
Oh! Thank you so much! I'm glad that you like them I will continue to effort so that GLR has quality illustrations!
was that conqueror's haki? I thought it was just armament... and then the hand was just pushed backwards with the punch, so it made contact and then the hand just bolted backwards. The arm looks like it's hitting Pizarro's face.
Also when Burgess and Sabo fought in Dressrosa there was black lightning coming off of their punches so I don't think that only Conqueror's haki has black lightning
It’s just arms Haki HES JUST BEING BIAS and saying it’s conquerors before confirmation he need to leave SANJI out of this
Kobi was riding with straw hat before zoro. His friendship with luffy is part of the reason Garp trained him. Remember at that time only Garp knew his grandson saved this young kid who wanted to be a marine. Kinda like luffy was like I’m a be a pirate grandpa but here’s a marine for you.
4:00 what are you talking about lmao BB himself gave the explanation:
he wanted to use Koby as hostage so the the WG would recognize his kingdom
The wimpy attack name is very much in character with Koby's chaeacter. Definitely something Koby would come up with in the heat of the moment.😂
Concerning Haki, wasn't it advanced armament that allows them to attack without touching the target? I mean, Luffy told Kaido near the end of their fight that Hyogoro had taught him how to attack without making direct contact. And he taught him advanced armament, not Conqueror's.
I think Advanced Armament Haki is the one that grants the traits of "ignoring external defense" and "attacking without making contact", but the power boost itself is much smaller compared to Advanced Conqueror Haki. However, advanced Conqueror lacks those 2 special traits by iself.
After all, I don't think we ever saw Yamato attacking without making direct contact (trait #1), and she was also unable to remove the exploding cuffs by herself (trait #2) despite having advanced Conqueror's Haki, while we know for a fact she lacks advanced Armament.
Luffy was simply using both against Kaido. The raw power given by advanced Conqueror, but with the 2 special traits given by advanced Armament on top.
So while I do think it's pretty likely that Koby was using Conqueror's Haki, I don't think him not touching Pizarro directly is what suggests it. I think that's just how his technique works, we know characters can use long-range Haki attacks without it having to be advanced Conqueror's.
This is why it's very difficult to tell in the manga.
Black lightning has this curse of being inconsistent.
Oda should have made a thin black lightning as advanced Armament.
Then a thick black lightning for advanced Conqueror's.
Give us something to differentiate the two Oda wthhhhhh!!
also the nine red scabbards produced black lightnings while fighting kaido. Sanji did it too in the past
what ryo or advance armament does is instead of condensing haki into the fist when they punch is, they release the haki instead. Now imagine if you pour conqueror through that punch instead. Thats what advance COC is.
@yvesnerona13 It's not that simple though. We never saw Kaido or Yamato hitting their opponents without making direct contact, even when we know they're were using advanced Conqueror's Haki. This only happened for Kaido when his advanced conqueror's attack collided with Luffy's own advanced conqueror attack. Ie, a conqueror clash.
While Luffy could attack the opponent directly (no clash) without making contact, and the difference between him and those two is that he also knows advanced armament.
Yamato being shocked that Luffy could use Haki to take off her cuffs, and Kaido himself being surprised about the 9 scabbards being able to hurt him (when he knows they don't have advanced conqueror), support the idea that there's these 2 traits that ONLY advanced armaments has, not Conqueror's.
But of course if you know both, you can apply these two armament traits and use Conqueror's Haki at the same time.
The point is Liam was saying since Koby's attack didn't make contact, it had to be advanced Conqueror's. That's not really true. You can do that with advanced armament alone. Adding advanced conqueror just makes the result even stronger.
@@jackjacques7495 Liam is right, You basically saying that cobys Advance armament puch does more damage or equal too than garp COC infused puch? no right? it wont make sense. What will is if that puch is coc coated. given that it clear both requirement it is safe to say atleast that it was a coc punch rather just plain armament.
Imagine if Koby stayed with Luffy instead of going to the marines
He probably wouldn't be as strong as he would now.

Years ago if someone had asked me what I think of Koby and Helmeppo I would have said that they are just one note side characters who we would never meet again, but boy was I wrong. To think that Oda would turn Koby into such an important person is just amazing. Also I never saw it coming but I'm glad Oda made Buggy into a Yonko he is my favorite character in the series and like Koby he has come a long way.
Honesty impact is a very fitting name. In the beginning koby was impressed with luffys strength. But luffys honesty is what inspired him.
Corbys advanced Busoshoku Haki is pretty strong I don't understand why so many think this is conqerors haki!
Ok so this is what you need to do. Re-read the chapter and look at the black lightning effects when he charges up and when he punches.
@@courtneystern7216 when this is Advanced conquerors haki than this is the number one ass pull in one piece history

Feels like Koby has unlocked Advance Conqueror Haki. So if Koby has it most probably some of the Admiral also have it.
That's not how it works thou
@@courtneystern7216 Then how? All I saw was that Koby destroyed the hand without even touching it.
I have not heard anyone talking about the potential for shadowing for Kobys type of justice. I think Honesty Impact shows that Koby believes in Honest Justice. This would fit perfectly with his lesson in not all pirates being bad, as well as the actions he took to stop the War in Marineford after Aces execution. He stood his ground after accomplishing what the Marines had set out to do and advocating for ceasing the war since they accomplished their objective and that it was wrong. Would love to know your take on this my brotha from down under 💪🏽😁
If all of this has been going on for the past 10 chapters, does this make you wonder, on how long have the Straw Hats have been fighting the Seraphim for?
Koby doesn’t have the conqueror haki
Garp isn't dead. He's the new bargaining chip for BB to establish his island under the WG.
Similar to Pedro, Garp may have been beaten, but he won the fight completely
Koby legit had the biggest glow up in the entire series.
When I first read the words ''Everyone retreat from Hachinousu!!'' I was like ''Damn, I guess this is it for that old man.''.
I feel like the best way to describe conquerors haki is an embodiment of the summation of ones will and ambition
As a long time Koby fan, this chapter made me unbelievably happy. Shout-out to Grus and Helmeppo, too!
I keep thinking back to that infamously bad screenshot of the 4Kids dub where Helmeppo is holding that weird spring-loaded hammer to Koby’s head, and now here we are twenty-something years later and those two absolute losers are unironically two of the coolest and most well-developed characters in the entire series. You love to see it.
Helmeppo's growth can't be ignored lol.
Honesty impact have me instant nostalgia vibes. Threw me back to kobys face when luffy calls him a cowards and says he hates cowards.
