What fun to see a freshly restored milk truck. I had one as a kid, and recently acquired one to add to my collection. I’m old enough to remember the milkman delivering our milk in glass bottles using a wire basket. Mom would bring out the empties and bring in the new ones.
Your newspaper stories are wonderful... who gives you the inspiration for them all...? P.S... Keep up your excellent work... reviving these old favourites brings much joy to everyone...
Hi Marty, Another great restoration. ..I too was born in 1962 & remember milk floats with their milkmen delivering the early morning milk to your door..Red top, Silver top & the full cream Gold topped foil capped bottles, The term milk float was usually referring to electric purpose built vehicles that used to float along quietly at dawn so as not to wake up the neighbourhood. This commercial vehicle had a normal engine & would have been used for delivering milk to more rural homes that had a distance not suited to electric floats. Keep up the good work, Kevin was great..

HI Marty. I still have over a hundred Matchbox and Hot Wheels cars and trucks my brother and I had when we were kids, and they're stored in blue Matchbox carry cases in the bottom of my hall closet. This video came up in my feed today and I recognized the milk bottle truck right away. I remember it was the pale green, however for some reason I painted in a dark green metallic colour. Great work on the restoration. Thanks again.
Marty, my 10 yo and I watch your makeovers religiously. We drop everything as soon as we get an alert that you've posted a new video. Laying down some great memories watching him crack up about your wife's toothbrush and Kevin the koala and all the other jokes you slip in. I also enjoy the nostalgia of seeing you give these old beauties new life. (I also had this milk truck as a child. :-)). Thanks for your great videos!
Marty, that was a great clean up. Loved it especially as I drove a Commer milk tuck briefly in the late 70's - pride of the fleet she was not by then - especially after the battery boiled up! That might haven't been a disaster but the battery was under the driver's seat! Congratulations your work made me fond of the old truck ---- well almost!

Another superb restoration! I had completely forgotten about the little cow decals - I have one of those trucks right in front of me, and it has nothing on the doors. Maybe some had them, and some didn't.

Crackin job. I remember the milk man days . We used to run after him for ice chips on a hot summer day. Kevin deserves a treat.
