Holy cow. Outstanding intro. I love this model. Doors AND trunk. One of the most animated models they ever produced. The doors were sealed for the Superfast run. Kevin is out of control, Marty. It's time to put your foot down and get him into a 12 step program.
My wife doesn’t get why I watch your videos so much. Your channel is a break from all the other “noise” in life, your voice is relaxing, and the sprinkling of humor is perfect! Thanks for all the videos!
I had 100's of these cars when I was young. All of them are now gone. Although I would have loved taking the time to restore them now. I'm 55 now. Amazing work Marty!!!
@@MartysMatchboxMakeovers Well, I do build a model from time to time, wish I had all of the ones I had a a kid. I'm sure I had some rarities back then. I may look into it at some point. I just sold a truck I spent the last 15 years throwing money at, it was such a money trap. I have a airbrush and the know how. Thanks for your reply..
I've got one of these models but it's blue. Marty's dad jokes are the best. Love the strategically placed skull and cross bones, and the guinea pig eating neighbour. Car restoration is awesome too.
Number one reason I watch your channel is because of the builds. A close second is the headlines of the papers you line your booth with. One of the first things I look for when you start painting. Those are great....
I remember being a kid and i watched an old program where this British bloke bought old well used rusted cars and totally restored and repaired it! I used to sit paralyzed to the TV watching even tho I had no idea what’s happening of anything about cars. Thanks for bringing that feeling back with you channel man!
Nice restoration! When I was a kid my buddy kept his matchbox and hot wheels cars perfect, rarely even touching them. They were beautiful! I on the other hand spent countless hours playing with my cars making engine sounds, crashing them, painting them, very few survived unscathed. No regrets :-)
Second that, It was cool to have "mini Marty" point out points of interest. Adds a little something that the other model car restoration channel don't have.
Great job Marty, you're the KING of the matchbox restoration guys. Watch you all the time. I enjoy your humor and the fact you're not afraid to try new products and methods. Keep up the good work. Best wishes to Kevin and the Mrs. Dennis
The model looks like it was just taken out of the box! I love how you were able to put yourself in the video looking over the car and diving it. You have real talent . Thanks for sharing your method of how to make the tool for reforming the mushroom head.
Although I am not into the car collection or restoration hobby, I really enjoy your videos! You also share tips that can be applied to other crafts as well! Keep up the awesome work!
This and a Greyhound bus were the first two Matchbox vehicles that i bought with my own pocket money. We were on holiday near Loch Lommond in Scotland. To see you restore this car is a great pleasure. Nice work.
Suffering from Marty withdrawals (as usual) I watched this again and was just as transfixed as I was the first time out. I absolutely love the background music, which I have downloaded and is now the background music for my life.
Wow Marty you've really lifted the production quality of your vids!!! Not that they were lacking before (ha) but some of your speed changes and fades were very impressive, not to mention that intro which was by far the best from anyone! Thanks mate and please keep it coming. :-)
Awesome video Sir. You did a great job restoring that car! I also loved the green paint. Beautiful finished product. And the comedy was hilarious! Keep up the great work! Thanks for sharing
Marty, always enjoy your restoration videos. Hope you had a pleasant vacation. I really liked the intro, very clever, hope you use it more. And, omg, Kevin had me literally laughing out loud! Cheers from Upper California, USA.
I haven't seen a video I haven't liked Theres funny clips with Kevin and Marty.accidently drinking brake fluid. The best thing I enjoy is how good he knows his equipment and the knowledge he uses.Great work sir!
Fantastic special effect to blow the car up to your size... nice video work! Nice to see Kevin again.. even if he having too much fun. After seeing your success with the Tamiya acrylics, I am about to try some out in my trusty Iwata.. on a NOS vintage 1950s Revell 2 ton Chevy truck kit in 1/48
Your methods work well on full-size cars too. I used your aluminum polish technique on my cars headlamp lenses and it brightened them right up, looking like new.
Amazing - so good to see this antique brought back to life again. I have so many of these old cars like this. Sometime I need to start thinking about restoring them. Your vids are a great inspiration and I am appreciative of your sharing your techniques for mushrooming the axle ends and all the other tips.
Glad to see that you're now marketing the hats and mugs with your MMM logo. I've noticed the mugs in past videos and was quite envious as those are actually my initials. I ordered one of each. Thanks!
Guinea Pig , yummy! It tastes just like chicken! I love the green screen opening scene and driving away at the end!!! You are often imitated but never duplicated. Great restoration too!
Yes, first you give a thumbs up, then watch the restoration. Resting assured that Marty's narration &satisfying steps will once again comfort & entertain. The windscreen came out wonderfully. Very interesting effects & editing. By the way, Cooey is the name of roasted Guinea pig. My spelling could be off. Supposed to be quite delicious. Learned that from "Archer".
Again a great video! When I was a little boy I dreamed of owning such a Mercedes. Years later I could drive one for an hour. Sometimes dreams come true, although just a little bit, I was happy with it. Greetings from old Germany!
Your videos are a special highlight for me every weekend! If I should ever own a Mercedes Benz (great or small) that has to be restored I send it from Germany to you. Nobody does it better 👍😁...!
Really liked the intro. When I was a kid I used to get my face as close to my 027 train as it went by. Wishing I could ride in the cab. Car is excellent.
Love the life size walk round and laughed out loud at the look on the Koalas face! Great makeover as ever. Keep up the work and hopefully this can become your full time gig.
Great vid! When I put them back together, I usually place the spring into position, that slides in effortlessly, and after I click the doors back into place one by one. Great job here, waiting 4 the next one!
Marty gets a like before I even start the video
Me too!
Same here. I missed my dose of Martys Matchbox Makeovers!
Agreed! 👍
Mee too
Always! 😁

This was a great model from Matchbox, with all it's things! - Kevin can be a problem at the moment I think he is growing up now!

Joe, I think you should take up a new hobby and order some trashed cars from ebay to fix up. It's great fun!

I didn't realize Marty was so small
Matchbox Garage in the words of Sheriff Buford T. Justice: “You sounded a lot taller on the radio...”
That was mini Marty
Yes, Marty is HO scale, but just as likable.
Perfect comment 👌
Are you inferring that i am a homosexual?
Number one reason I watch your channel is because of the builds. A close second is the headlines of the papers you line your booth with. One of the first things I look for when you start painting. Those are great....
The detail Matchbox put into the door interior is amazing. People talk about German craftsmanship, this takes second to no one.
Lesney were peerless

Another 20 minutes well spent. I'd go for merchandise that says "I'm Happy With That"
I'm happy with that idea!
and some that just have " KEVIN! "
I'd buy a cap with that printed on it.
It makes me happy to see these old toys restored to their former beauty. Taking something old and damaged, making it nice again.
I was having a bad day today, but this has really cheered me up. Thanks Marty, excellent video. 👍🙂
Aside from not having all of the tools that you have, your presentation appropriates the process in such a simple and inviting manner.
Awesome job! The special effects at the beginning made me smile. You rock! Kevin clearly needs a month in rehab.
Another excellent restoration from the man from down under
Oh Marty you blitzed that scaling! Well done
Nice video Marty, Funny as always! Is the life size inspection going to be used in another video?
Second that, It was cool to have "mini Marty" point out points of interest. Adds a little something that the other model car restoration channel don't have.
I'd love to see more of that in the future too!
Great Restoration
brilliant as always 🚦🚘
Definitely should be used in more videos. Makes for some added comedy
Indeed, well done on the car and the video.

LOL! I needed this today. And keep an eye on Kevin, he's running with the wrong crowd.
Marty, you never disappoint me. You are HILARIOUS with your light bulb... and the liner paper in your paint booth! Thank you!!!
Brilliant use of green screen. Love it! Here's a couple of extra thumbs up👍👍🏻👍🏽

Oh wow! - Such great feedback! - Thank you so much for this comment, it really spurs me on to keep going with my restoration channel!
Very creative, funny and a delightful trip into the restoration of the Mercedes....thank you for all the work and enjoyment you bring to us Marty.
Awesome video Sir. You did a great job restoring that car! I also loved the green paint. Beautiful finished product. And the comedy was hilarious! Keep up the great work! Thanks for sharing
I love Marty's little Easter eggs and jokes he throws into his videos. Makes them all the more enjoyable.

I like that you laid out all the pieces after disassembly.
Bloody brilliant. I was pissing myself inside the first few seconds!
❤️❤️❤️We love Kevin’s funny & hilarious misadventures❤️❤️❤️!! More please
HA ! A Matchbox car you can actually drive ;). Thanks for another great video.
This guy is hilarious, just love the ongoing story with Kevin and friends. Thanks for the the laughs Marty, very much needed these days.
I'm 15 and to be honest I'm more into car restorations and building my model junkyard than xbox and games
Why are you telling us this?
Im 14 and im too
The life size inspector is BADASS. Very original. Love it
#IHWT
Thanks to your makeovers, I get to see how much detail the vintage matchboxes had. As a kid, I never noticed. :)
Top job Marty! Good thing Kevin's not a Dropbear lol.
Marty, sir, you are such a romatic. I love your little stories at the end of your videos. Thank you.
Hi Marty, do you save or look out for those crazy headlines on the newspapers in your spray booth, i really enjoy seeing them lol
So do I, I'm still baffled where he finds those... Maybe he creates the headlines himself?
I've read it's a newspaper from UK, a real one that uses to put this kind of headlines :)
I'm pretty sure they're real.
He makes them up. If you look at a few of his past posts you can see where the headlines are cut around the edges.
@@phatkatracing im sure you are right lol. 👍😊😂😂❤️
I love all your handy hints, especially the the axle head reformer, i wouldn't have thought just spinning would have done anything, magical.
Ha ha you cracked me up thank you for the video can't wait till the next:-)
Your methods work well on full-size cars too. I used your aluminum polish technique on my cars headlamp lenses and it brightened them right up, looking like new.
That model Matchbox must have the most number of parts for sure.....15 parts in total.
Somewhere, perhaps in the great beyond, the old folks that built those toys would be thrilled to see your loving care on these beat up old beauties...
Another top video Marty.........not sure why the handcuffs are in your shed but hey ho each to their own.🤣
Karl Newsome along with the BDSM mask
Was about to ask about them too but then saw this comment. Between this and the nails last time, I worry. :/
Mattube1964 wonder if it has anything to do with the UK trip ..... BDSM tourist?
Aside from the Guinea pig incident this is So relaxing and satisfying. Thank you!
Excellent vid Marty ... thanks ... so Kevin’s on the sniff ... I have to warn you, I actually sold him a bag of magic mushrooms ....

Mmmm. Guinea Pig.
The crap that gets written about in the tabloids is quite remarkable.
This is my favourite episode so far. Thanks Marty and please keep making them.
Anybody else notice the handcuffs? (and.. uh.. gimp mask? o_O)
Deemal Atapattu I think he puts things in background just to see if anyone notices. LOL
@@harryballzack The handcuffs have been there for a few episodes, but I think the gimp mask is new.
Isn't it a mask from Tokyo Ghoul?
Glad to see that you're now marketing the hats and mugs with your MMM logo. I've noticed the mugs in past videos and was quite envious as those are actually my initials. I ordered one of each. Thanks!
i’m surprised that kevin is a baking soda addict
He actually throw a party in Marthy bathroom and all it's guests use it.. can you believe it ?! Naughty koala (*_* )
probably, who knows? all we know is that we found them as is
we all love baking soda *plays music
Another great Makeover. Always love seeing the crazy funny newspapers titles.
I don't fancy gripping my shaft with Emery paper
If your buffing your tool then the grit side goes outside.
I know. And then the shaft is rotated at 2400rpm.
Hah! Perfect timing. I got to this comment exactly at that point in the video.
Marty ... the intro with you AND the car - IN SCALE - was TOO COOL! Well done! Cheers!
Hahahaha Kevin on the baking soda!
Looked like a scene from The Hangover.
I KNEW Kevin would get into trouble while Marty was on vacation
Oh my God that was the coolest intro ever with you standing around the car like that!!!!!
I was just trying something new, but many people liked it . Thanks BRS RC.
Kevin's been into the baking soda! Oh no! How will you make sure things are securely stuck together now?
Simon Rafe he must have found the UA-cam $$$$ account.
who was Kevin's friend that was passed out?? did his mom get a call!?
francis ottoo dead hooker ? Maybe Marty covered up a crime here for his buddy
Great restoration of a beautiful car Marty. I don't blame you for taking her for a drive.
neighbor from hell ate my guinea pig. wtf? 🤣🤣
Marty, You were my inspiration to start making renovations of diecast models, Thank You !
Keven a bit of a party animal and on the yahoo dust
NONSENSE! That was just "baking soda"! Hahahah.
Happy to see this model, one of my all-time favourites.
Mask and handcuffs near the drill press?! 😂🤣
That's Marty.....handcuffs, mask, nails ,shoes,....more to see than just a makeover..
I love that it's not just any mask but a Tokyo ghoul mask.
Guinea Pig , yummy! It tastes just like chicken! I love the green screen opening scene and driving away at the end!!! You are often imitated but never duplicated. Great restoration too!
I think you don’t want to know what Kevin has been up to while you were in England!
Your videos are the best!! Thanks for putting all your fun on the internet for all to enjoy.
Love to watch your videos but I have question, why you don't paint the tail lights of Matchbox cars you restore?
He tries to stay close to the original, unless it's a custom restoration. Most matchbox cars did not have painted trim, iirc.
What an adorable and creative presentation I can't believe more people don't do this for the scale
That was mighty big of you to take on a model with so many challenges.
Yes, first you give a thumbs up, then watch the restoration. Resting assured that Marty's narration &satisfying steps will once again comfort & entertain. The windscreen came out wonderfully. Silly Kevin, with all the glues and solvents around... and he's snorting baking soda! Great video as usual, loved the mini-Marty inspection.
Love the special effects and commentary! Thanks

And dancing Marty is worth the wait😁😁😁
Really liked the intro. When I was a kid I used to get my face as close to my 027 train as it went by. Wishing I could ride in the cab. Car is excellent.
The walk around inspection was hilarious!
Kevin had a PARTY!!
Injecting yourself in the final product is pretty slick. Like that.
Nice effect standing next to the car! Oh and the car looks great!
Love the life size walk round and laughed out loud at the look on the Koalas face! Great makeover as ever. Keep up the work and hopefully this can become your full time gig.
Green screen shots were brilliant. Didn't see that coming. Poor Kevin. 🤣
One of the best castings Matchbox made.
Great vid! When I put them back together, I usually place the spring into position, that slides in effortlessly, and after I click the doors back into place one by one.
Great job here, waiting 4 the next one!
Never thought of that might try it next time. Actually I was s**ting myself thinking I was going to ruin the paint on the doors!
Gorgeous model and a beautiful restoration as always.
A Sunday Afternoon a drink and relaxing to your video it doesn’t get better than that Marty.
Glad you liked it Lance!
Probably your best video yet Marty. A joy to watch 👍👍👍
Thanks Bruce, so glad that you enjoyed it!
Another great resto job and video. Also, you're quite the dancer.
Absolutely fantastic video. Really enjoyed this
