While i generally prefer dlss, cause of superior image quality from what i have seen so far, i cannot stress how amazing fsr is as an open source tool available on any gpu. Heck you could probably use fsr + fg on a potato. Intel xess is also damn nice, but it´s not as common, providing usually better image quality than fsr while being a bit slower. FSR is the second wind for a lot of "older"/mid range gpu´s (or not enthusiast level gaming laptops) that would otherwise struggle to run games decent with high details or even at all.
I noticed something interesting. DLSS uses much higher Vram than FSR but DLSS uses much lesser CPU than FSR. I dont know what to make of this, thank you for reading my comment.
dlss and fg is far better , fsr looks really blurry and kills all the immersiveness and the input lag with fsr fg is way more than dlss fg . i agree nvidea is expensive and overpriced but that doesnt make fsr any better or even close to dlss . dlss looks like native , barely any shimmering i ever noticed . Games like dying light 2 with dlss fg actually looks even better with dlss due to its clean and sharper image . AND the people who judge fsr vs dlss by watching it on yt😂dude on yt i=dlss performance and quality looks same
Generation from amd gives a higher delay, this is quite noticeable + it has some problems with the uniformity of frames, as a result, generation from nvidia feels much smoother, even if the FPS is 10% lower. Well, plus, the quality of the generated frames is better in nvidia. The topic for the future video is to measure the delay with generation from amd on an amd card against generation from nvidia. No one has done this yet, except for the Digital Foundry in one Immortals of Aveum game.
when df were testing fsr 3 in immortals it was one of the first games to implement fsr 3 and it was kind of broken. I'm pretty sure there's no huge latency problem now. It's probably as bad as with dlss (or better bc better performance)
@@HardwareLab I personally compared the generator from amd and nvidia on my 4070, and the delay was much less with the generator from nvidia, especially noticeable when turning the camera with the mouse. I wouldn't use an amd generator in any game, it was noticeably worse everywhere.
@@aedra1008 thats because dlss fg auto enables nv reflex. Frame gen from fsr actually better for input latency. It is just reflex, that helps a lot to drop latency.
Your test method is flawed. When you use DLSS upscaling at the same time, it competes with DLSS FG for tensor computational resources. If you want to compare FSR FG with DLSS FG correctly, you have to use no upscaler for both test sequences.
@@user-suzie1818 dlss frame gen requires dlss upscaler to be turned on because it is based on the same data structures and fitted in the same pipeline, so your only option to “disable” upscaler and play with dlss fg is dlaa (which is a temporal aa, no different from dlss reconstruction aside from render and output res, but it does exactly the same thing). It doesn’t apply to FSR frame gen in theory and you can use it with whatever you want, but in most of the games fsr reconstruction or anti-aliasing (similar to dlaa) is still mandatory to use fg due to a developers blocking it
@@HardwareLab What are you talking about? DLSS Frame Generation does NOT require DLSS upscaler to be turned on. I don't have the games you used in this video, but I do have Cyberpunk 2077 and Witcher 3, and they both have the DLSS Frame Gen feature that can be toggled on/off independently from DLSS upscaling. It does not require DLAA, either.
@@user-suzie1818 are you sure about that? In Cyberpunk you definitely can’t turn on frame generation without dlss, I can’t find any test like this. In any of the games tested in this video it’s true as well, never saw anywhere dlss framegen without dlss reconstruction
@@user-suzie1818 I’m pretty sure in this case it just applies DLAA because that’s how it works in the rest of the games. And yea at least tested games require dlss for fg to work
no bro , amd should be ashamed . fsr is way too shitty , people are d riding amd bcs they made it available to all gpus. amd knows its market share in GPUs is very low and is decling a lot so they decided to gain some publicity by introducing amd fsr for all GPUs but its super bad
The Funny thing is. 4070ti and above have bether framegen inset of more gpu power ... what makes no sense to use DLSS... DLSS is good for low end cards not every one how has a 4070tisuperultra +++.
That is expected. Higher tier cards have more tensor cores, which are responsible for all AI tech. But you are wrong about DLSS. 4070 Ti is not fast enough for many games, depending on the resolution. It is a mandaroty to use DLSS at 4K in modern big games with this card, for example. Also if you are using RT, DLSS is needed as well, sometimes even at 1440p. Plus, some people have high refresh screens and it is impossible to run all games, say, at 1440p/120fps even on 4080, let alone 4070 Ti.
Nice uplift on the video guys. Glad to see more from you.
Top notch editing excellent work

i don't think u should look FSR/DLSS FG from a FPS point of view its more of a GPU/Visuals point and it also depends on the game u are playing
