Asmon/Zack is one of the most honest people on twitch. If you say his company fucked up he will do everything he can to rectify it just like LTT would with the screwdriver
@@caladonn2659 I like the c+b logo, if starforge is still around when I need to replace my quarantine computer, I’ll definitely consider. Actually if they just have logos I can stick on, I’d buy one
Imma be honest, I've never watched your channel before but seeing the way you handled linus' honest review of your PC, you handled it so graciously. I love that you admitted to the few mistakes and even took action to bring the issues up with the other creators. Most people would have gotten defensive about critical feedback but you took it in stride and are using it to improve your product. I can't praise you enough for how you reacted. Well done!
Linus was incredibly fair & honestly your system came out fairly unscathed. Just look to his past “Secret Shopper” series to see how bad system integrators can actually fuck up.
yeah, totally agree the secret shopper series could be a mandatory watch for each employee of starforge, would probably actually help them avoid some pitfalls/mistakes of other system integrators as for the ltt video, i would have loved to see them put the starforge customer service on test with a simulated fault like a loose ram stick or something (like they did for the secret shopper series)

I'm with you there 1000%, peeling the plastic film off new electronics is one of the finer things in life. I would be disappointed if I opened up my new PC only to find the plastic films had already been peeled off. It's also proof that the parts are brand new.
Damn genius 1. Gets a review from LTT that gives constructive criticism as well as points out flaws with companies product. 2. Live streams a reaction video with millions of views on top of a video already with millions of views. 3. Can now take the Review back to their company and fix the problems. 4. Gave the company a far better representation than the launch from what I gather. and a hilarious video to boot Absolutely loved it GG's 👌
I doubt people saving up for months to buy ~2500 dollar or euro and not build something themselves but go for a prebuilt, gonna love to check stuff they might not have a clue about what goes where. So instead of maybe have to go through an install of Windows, they have to check all cables and what not. They also have to check whether promsied parts are in there. Yeah, what a win!
PS, yeah, he owns up, but as long as he sees the W vs L as equal, the actual critic might be lost. You need like 15 W for 1 L for a product like this. It's a prebuild, anyone with knowledge would go for ordering parts they need and maybe upgrade certain items for the future. I would be so angry when finally getting a package and then some serious issues. Why was noone with actual knowledge showing people how to build? And it's not a 1 sample thing, the sample was ordered for a test and it had problems.
@NLX78 i can see where your coming from because it is a bit of a hassle checking the wires and making sure all components are there but then again if you aren't checking to see if your product is in good condition and has all components regardless of what you buy and get shipped then isn't that really on yourself, especially if that product is faulty and a simple check when it arrived could have saved you a headache or two :) P.s my comment was more towards the ingenuity of the advertisement of the business rather than the product itself
Dude took the criticism like a champ and owned up, but melted down at the dickrocket. Much fun was had and I wish the Starforge Team all the best buildin up!
Tbh, if he was in charge of it and took it personally knowing he’s as immature as a kid like he implied with these kinds of jokes, it shows how dedicated and serious he’s taking the job if he melts down trying to perfect even the branding so he 110% took some of Linus’ critiques to the others about the quality after this, that’s a good owner right there imo.

Linus didn't ask for a 3rd insert. He meant that the water pump head is RGB, So if you had made the inserts clear where there is colour the end user could change it to whatever colour they liked with the RGB software on their computer
Yeah those deep cool castle coolers come with like a mirror puck and one other, I forget. Those weren't included with it, but instead just the custom pucks.
That AIO puck should be clear acrylic with the logo printed on it, so you can shine the light through it. Then you'll only need one puck, and the colour can be changed via RGB.

'being open' ? So just saying the bad stuff happened because of other streamers, is being open? these are only individuals who try to be a company together, while still being individuals. They should held eachother responsible
Well they have to be now as they got shit on for trying to silence criticism at the start by banning people and then going on the offensive with some silly slideshow presentation on Emiru's stream making out like all the critics were dumb. They focused on the small minority of people comparing their prices to DIY, when a lot of the criticism was down to their prices and specs being worse than competitor pre-buits. They then reduced the prices and increased specs so were obviously wrong in the first place.

This is actually really great for Starforge... Linus is clearly very well trusted in the community, and this kind of information and criticism going straight to the CEO and the rest of the company is something other companies would pay millions for in product reviews and consumer satisfaction data. Nothing but a big fat W here.
The ONLY real problem with LTT is his UNASHAMELESSNESS of CONSTANT HAWKING of his OWN products that now sometimes eats into whatever he is doing to the 25% mark of the entire segment! At this point I myself have UNSUBSCRIBED HIM for this VERY reason some months back. He seems MORE interested in doing this than actually reviewing things now a days. And that's another reason that I like Gamer's Nexus as well, they show ONCE their main sponsor at the VERY beginning and MAYBE their own thing WHILE doing whatever is the subject of the day is. Then it's ALL about the subject at hand... PERIOD!!! LTT frankly is more interested in HAWING CRAP than doing real reviews - it's like this for YEARS now and frankly I think the ENTIRE fan base is FED UP with LTT for this VERY reason!
@@timbaumann9046 I always find it funny when someone's in the minority, yet says something like "ALL of his fans are fed up with him". In fact, for most fans the LTT Store segues are kind of a running joke.

The balls on this dude to watch this live on his stream. Linus will absolutely light you up if your product sucks. Getting a relative W from the tech GOAT is fantastic for them.
As stated by others, the CPU waterblock is rgb, all you need is to supply 2 pucks, the first one completely clear and the 2nd one clear but with the Starforge logo etched into it. That way with the custom Starforge puck the logo will show no matter what colour they set the back light to.
It boggles my mind that I'm a complete novice in the grand scheme of PC building compared to guys who have experience in previous businesses that built and shipped PCs and even I was like "why the fuck didn't they just include 1 etched clear cap and 1 plain cap?".
Y'know. it's so like Asmon to take every single criticism on the chin, address them for the most part and then continue, not getting mad at anyone anyone in the company, or mad at Linus, or trying to brush off his criticisms at all. Asmon is a very intelligent man. I've said it in several comments. He has this constant awareness of what to say and what not to. This video was really interesting to watch for that reason.
Not taking any respect away from Asmon, he's a favorite, but this is just called being an adult. It's just becoming more rare as people behave more and more like children, especially internet personalities.
Can I just say I appreciate that Asmongold, immediately recognises they messed up and was like "Okay we need to fix this right now". It is the advantage of having twitch streamers as the face, in that they get the good and bad, so try to deal with it ASAP. Props to you.

I’ve never watched a streamer have such a human reaction to something. It wasn’t full of over the top reactions that didn’t need to be there, and it wasn’t dismissive of the criticism that was given. By the end I felt so happy for him because he seemed so happy that his company succeeded. Needless to say I loved the video.
My favorite part was how he took the “penis rocket” reaction. He should make a new gpu block cover that has squirts coming out the top, just for Linus.

This was an extremely positive review by LTT, out of all the prebuilt PC companies I've seen him review I think only ibuypower came out about as well as this. Most had at least one major issue to be addressed but there were only really a few minor ones here. Not what I was expecting at all.
And honestly, minor problems are ones you expect from a new company. These sort of QC items are just a matter of updating a few small practices rather than having to overhaul any major component of the company itself. If they keep it up, then it's mostly up to their marketing and sales.
@@GreenSlug420 Obviously people are willing to spend the additional money on having their PC prebuilt, otherwise these companies/services would no longer be provided/exist. Having this kind of quality check for your business is priceless. Because customers are often a angry about deficiencies, but do not communicate this to the company, or it seeps away in some underpaid hotline. It is important that criticism reaches the people who can change something.
I'm a long time LTT watcher. The start was rocky but they seemed like honest mistakes - Furthermore you corrected the important ones, this is rare lol. Proud to be a fan of yours. -Edit: definitely a pen*s rocket
They're not honest mistakes. These are mistakes that are never suppose to happen especially when there's suppose to be a QC process after the build. Power connections/power related connections have to be seated properly and correctly. What do you think would happen if this PC went to the average consumer who doesn't know anything about the workings of a PC? A customer spends over $3k for a PC shouldn't have to start trouble shooting their PC as soon as they unbox it. As a business you're wanting low/avoidable customer support call ins and returns.
It's not an honest mistake that they're now giving you a grade better GPU and current gen intel. They bought the old 11th gen for a deal probably and were maxing ROI. @@slimeshadetree13 TBF, 12 year old Timmy probably won't. If they order it it's with their parent's money and the parents should be expected to set the system up.

So, im 41 and have been a console gamer my whole life. Mainly Xbox but own Nintendo and Playstation too for the proprietary games that are not on Xbox. Imagine if they bothered to edit it so it only includes what he directly addresses and addressed in a meaningful way instead of including all of LTT's video.
I agree having the customers peel off the stickers and plastic is a good idea, for two reasons: 1) it increases the feeling that they're receiving something "new", and 2) it has the pleasurable sensation (asmr) that Asmongold mentioned.
I would say on the outside is good for a peel for the customer. But internal parts should be pre-peeled. Most average consumers won’t want to open the system to peel each and every part.
True but Linus was mainly referring to the ones on the inside because they require the customer to open the PC, and people who buy prebuilts are often not comfortable or experienced enough to do that properly, most of them are just going to literally plug and play. That's why Linus said that, otherwise he likes peeling too.
when you know how to build a system its already really hard to see the value in a prebuilt. For him he knows how to build one and spec one and he knows it better than basically any one, so for him the whole thing is probably hard to see the value in.
1 Win for 100 faults..."Asmongold TV i'm gonna clip that win"
@NLX78 i can see where your coming from because it is a bit of a hassle checking the wires and making sure all components are there but then again if you aren't checking to see if your product is in good condition and has all components regardless of what you buy and get shipped then isn't that really on yourself, especially if that product is faulty and a simple check when it arrived could have saved you a headache or two :)
P.s my comment was more towards the ingenuity of the advertisement of the business rather than the product itself

As a guy who used to make custom computers for people as well as doing repairs. Linus is very good at his job and pretty fair in his reviews. That said, building computers and shipping them is very hard to do and ensure the cables always arrive connected.
This has been an eye-opening, refreshingly transparent, and honest reaction to criticism. I legitimately hadn't heard of this company before today, but now I just wish them nothing but success.

Well, they're "minor" issues to people who know how to fix them themselves, but to people who don't know about PCs, this can cost tons of money and time to resolve. You're not going to succeed being sloppy.
These issues are minor because they cause no real problems, not because they are easy to fix

@@AnimeBeefRandoms Huh? The only serious issue were the cables that weren't seated properly, all of which is covered under their warranty.
Especially since they apparently have such tech savvy workers. Think that those ppl would know a computer the internet called out for being shit, is in fact shit.

I disagree. 12 year old Timmy shouldn’t have to open up his pc case to peel the sticker off. What they should do is leave the wrapping on the case so you can peel that off
@@slimeshadetree13 TBF, 12 year old Timmy probably won't. If they order it it's with their parent's money and the parents should be expected to set the system up.

Josh Strife Hayes would like to have a word with you.
Imagine if they bothered to edit it so it only includes what he directly addresses and addressed in a meaningful way instead of including all of LTT's video.
I like that pretty much the only things he staunchly disagreed with are the plastic peeling and the dick rocket logo design.
I agree having the customers peel off the stickers and plastic is a good idea, for two reasons: 1) it increases the feeling that they're receiving something "new", and 2) it has the pleasurable sensation (asmr) that Asmongold mentioned.
Thats why you also hear Luke in the back saying he likes that they were left on lol
Except for the average purchaser of a pre-built system will not open it. Having the peal on the outside is important.
I would say on the outside is good for a peel for the customer. But internal parts should be pre-peeled. Most average consumers won’t want to open the system to peel each and every part.
People who buy pre-build will not likely open the case at all... :)
True but Linus was mainly referring to the ones on the inside because they require the customer to open the PC, and people who buy prebuilts are often not comfortable or experienced enough to do that properly, most of them are just going to literally plug and play. That's why Linus said that, otherwise he likes peeling too.

Yeah as a long time Linus watcher I'd say Starforge has some real staying power. He can be brutal on some of these pre built systems. Nice job.
when you know how to build a system its already really hard to see the value in a prebuilt. For him he knows how to build one and spec one and he knows it better than basically any one, so for him the whole thing is probably hard to see the value in. The value ofc is that they don't spend hours building the pc, they have a warranty and customer support and didn't have to research anything.
@@colamity_5000 Long time Linus watcher as well. Linus also has experience in running a SI when he was working at NCIX, so he does have industry experience albeit some of the info he has (eg. Windows license stickers) is dated. Although if Linus did not see the value in pre-builts, the secret shopper episodes wouldn't have existed in the first place.
@@colamity_5000 I don't think knowing how to build a system makes you not see the value in a prebuilt. It only takes a little bit of critical thinking to understand that not everyone will want to build their own. The thing that learning how to build your own system does do is it allows you to see all of the mistakes these companies often make. So, if anything, someone like Linus is THE guy you want to review a prebuilt computer.
@@philj8205 I'm not contesting he's the perfect guy, I'm only saying why he always seems so unimpressed with prebuilts. While he obviously conceptually understands everything I'm saying, you can tell just by his general affect that he basically doesn't see the value proposition in prebuilts.
