Really mate this video is really helpful keep them simple I've been struggling with this shit for ages everyone says flick the rod with a slack line this was seems alot easier makes so much sense really awesome video mate from 🇦🇺
Captain. thank you so much for teaching this method. You don't even know how many countless videos I have watched to learn to walk the dog but still not managed to master it. I will try it next time at the beach.
Thanks very much for the simple explanation. I was racking my brain trying to make sense out of other techniques for walking the dog on other videos but this one looks very easy to do and I'm going to try it. I mostly fish in the ocean and hoping to get more action from top water lures since I've been skunked the last couple times I went to the beach and casted from shore using sinking lures.
Your welcome! The great thing about guiding all these years is that you get really good at explaining how to do something. Its really very easy to walk the dog, its mostly in the steady reeling. Good luck and early morning is the time for the best topwater bite, Fresh or Salt water. Capt Eric...

Seems that helping clients for over 30 yrs has allowed me to explain a concept or tackle selection that makes it easy to understand. Its part of the my job everyday, glad I could help be sure to subscribe, the first new videos will be hitting the channel in about a month. Capt Eric...

Hi Mike - Basically its exactly the same as with a spinning reel. Often casting rods can be stiffer in the butt section and that can cause you to pull harder than you need to when reeling. Also be careful if you are using a hi speed gear ratio reel. They can make you retrieve the lure faster than you should on some occasions. Also always make sure you are using a mono leader or straight braided line. Fluro sinks like a rock and can cause the lure to sink if you let it sit for a few seconds, so watch out for that its easy to forget! If you have any other questions
