      Yeah it must have been so long using steel for that, i would have used aluminium

    • @rickbrasche8781
      @rickbrasche8781 9 місяців тому

      I was going to also say that fabrication and shaping of the dome really made this a "next level" restoration.

      Brazing might have been a better solution than ARC welding with preheating and slowly cooling in a fire blanket or sand.

      I’m not too sure, but it looks like a kind of sequoioideae wood (sequoias) or a sapele. Would need them to confirm 😅

    Excellent work and beautiful finished product, as always. Reminded me of living at my parents’
    home: my mother used an antique coffee grinder which was mounted to the kitchen wall directly below my bedroom. Spent much of my childhood waking up to the sound of my mother grinding her morning coffee beans directly below my head 😂

    • @webtoedman

      Coincidence! My son recently told me that when he was a teenager, the sound of me grinding coffee in the morning meant that he had to finally get out of bed if he wanted to get to school on time.

    Alors celle-là je la mets dans le top 5 de vos restaurations... mention spéciale à la reconstruction du demi dôme manquant. Et il est vrai que ce n'est pas si fréquent de trouver un moulin à café au mécanisme aussi compliqué, avec tout ces renvois d'angle...
    Le résultat est magnifique. Merci infiniment.
