Good question, the most favorite AND challenging part(s) are the hubcaps. Because I really underestimated the skills you need for doing that. Side fact: to make 4 hubcaps (2 big and 2 small) I made around 100 sheets that went to the waste bin until i figured out which technique it requires. Needless to say that these were my favorite parts when i was done with them, i was super happy and proud :-)
Great job. I doubt the original makers of that toy car believed it would be renewed and restored and still in use 100 years later. You paid homage to their work.
The notorious trio of the restoration world in youtube. The ones who are still too meticulous to their craft that their sandpapers and files are still being used when other channels, mostly all, are too lazy to even do. Says it all that the 3 of you are the real kings of restorations.
The wear on that toy and the questionable repairs do at least show that it has been a well-loved item with a lot of history. I also love that you guys all help each other out.
I am loving the more extended format of restoration videos recently. This toy was a large project to be sure and I especially loved the amount of work which went into the remaking of the tires! This restoration had all the components which make up a great video… powder coating, quality painting, “making a new one”, and the added bonus of collaboration with other UA-cam restoration masters! Well done Mister Patina!!
Comment to bump the algorithm. I bet that 3 or 4 generations of children played HARD on that tricycle. Now, several more generations can enjoy it. This was a very satisfying restoration to watch. I really enjoyed the painstaking detail work that you did. I appreciate the fact that as you restored it you also improved it because you could see the results of wear & tear over many years of use. I really hope that this tricycle is enjoyed by many children for another 100 years. P.S. That collaboration was SWEET!!!
Thank you very much JL! I totally agree, this car was used really hard, but, im sure that every kid that drove it, had a lot of love for it. If you check the wear in relation to the damages, they took really good care of it. Im glad you enjoyed :-)
Oh yeah soo oahead you row with your wrms which are a lot weaker than your legs and steer with your legs which are stronger and don't need a fraction of it's power to steer this is a woodden mallet with a steel handle 🤣😆🤣😆🤣😆
WOW! This is not a restoration anymore, it is a real work of art, a masterpiece! Not surprised at all that My Mechanics partnered with you and Dr Beer for this endeavor. You three guys are the best!!
This was magnificent. Your boys are going to love this. Not only a fun toy but restored just for them. The love you put into this is palpable and will always be with them. Excellent restoration, wonderful videography, editing, and sound. You make your shop look larger than it is!😁And I feel like I'm standing next to you. Thank you for sharing this with us all, thanks for being here.
I forgot to say that I love how you, Dr. Beer, MM all support each other so much. It's one of the reasons I follow you all. You all exemplify the best of humanity.
Ok, best collab ever. I've been watching all three channels for a while and it's incredibly awesome to see each of you making appearances in the others videos from time to time.
Awesome work, Mister Patina! 37:54 (enter my mechanics sentence here) 😆😆😆 It's really cool to see the collaboration between you guys! Your passion for restoration is clear. Cheers!
Wow. I’m not trying to take anything away from your previous projects, but this was certainly one of your most ambitious and well done to date- not surprising that it took you the length of time you said it did. And, honestly, I thought it would have taken longer. It was great to see Herr Dr. Beer and the incredible My Mechanics involved! I hope all involved have a Merry Christmas/ Happy Holiday and a safe New Years Eve. See you on the next one, sir.
Hello Mister Patina. Sure is a great video and restoration. And three Jedi masters all in one projet? Sure feel like an all star reunion. A big thank you.
Cooperation of The Three Musketeers of Restoration: one for all an all for one, always looking for perfection! Congratulations, this is more than great!
The Three Kings of Restoration with a present for us mere mortals - excellent job Mister Patina, truly... an absolute delight to watch a master at work.
That part was a real roller coaster ride. First gluing on the new rubber to the old tires, I thought that was going to be the "repair" and I was going to be disappointed. Then, I saw it was used to make a mold and I was happy again. Then, the mold was used to make PLASTIC tires and I was disappointed again. Until those were used to make another mold for the REAL fix, the new solid rubber tires! Imagine going through ALL of that trouble for ONE repair video! THAT is why Mister Patina is one of the best restoration channels on UA-cam!

As you should be, the technique used looks effortless for you, and produced amazing results
my favorite is the screws

It's great that you collaborate with other restoration channels. I know My Mechanics came to you for powder coating recently; what a great community!
You‘re right Chris, the scene with MM was done the morning after we coated his parts 🙂👍
Thanks for tuning in, I hope you enjoy the video 🙂
I always enjoy spending time with you.
Sure did! It's one of your best to date! I hope it gets a lot of views!
That is very well done
how much would have something like this cost back then?! it looks expensive
@@kirdot2011 oh, i couldnt find any information about the (original) price

I totally agree! Thanks!
My Mechanic just teleports to dented panelwork every night. There's not a single bent sign in his entire neighbourhood.
