I looked at the weather)) Yeah, you have cloudy weather with rain for the next few days. But from afar it always seems that there is always sun in Rio)
Thank you, I didn't chrome it, I just washed it and wiped it with polish. At the moment, I don't have the opportunity to do chrome plating in my conditions.

I also greet you. 1. Program - Photoshop (you can use any graphic editor, raster or vector, it all depends on what file format for printing the employee of the printing center asks you for) 2. Laser ultraviolet printer, the printing method is called "UV DTF" printing on transparent film.

Wahnsinn - was für eine aufwendige Restauration von diesem Schätzchen aus '81 - damals war ich 12 Jahre alt, wo das Gerät erschien! Mein Abo hast Du definitiv! Herzliche Grüße aus Deutschland😊
Did you notice it´s all metal parts? Good old times... :) 45 years later the MoS2 grease they used at assembly seems to be in good shape, also it´s a miracle all the belts seem to be in good condition.
Thanks. The spring that is under the capstan wheel was attached to the upper clamp plate of this wheel, I installed this plate at the end of the assembly and attached the spring at the end, perhaps this was not captured on the video. The clamp roller was quite soft and elastic, rotated well without slipping while pulling the tape.
Buen día . Excelente video gracias por publicar. En el minuto 42:55 derrite un liquido parecido a cera de velas ...que es? Y para que sirve en las placas?. Gracias.
Thank you, I’m glad you liked it. Yes, that’s wax-it’s used to coat parts of the circuit board, wires, and exposed inductance coils near the tuner as an anti-vibration measure. I removed the wax because I don’t like desoldering capacitors covered in it. Instead, I reinforced the necessary components with hot glue. It’s not essential to coat half the board with wax in this case.
I was talking about chrome plating, is that what you meant? If you are talking about the white markings on the volume scale, it was in the video, then it is UV DTF printing.
@Repair3R no worries about one year. The model came out 1981 but production date was one year later. You can see this in one of the parts you restored, there is a stamp with the date. 😃 Happy new year!

Thank you so much for your kind words! I’ll consider adding more details about the products and percentages in future videos. As for spare parts suppliers, I often use a variety of sources depending on availability. Already working on a new project, thanks for the feedback )
It was easier for me to remove all the wax than to pick at it later while desoldering the components. Especially since it only needs a few points there to eliminate vibration (reinforced with hot glue). It is not necessary to pour wax on the half of the board, it is just easier, pour it all over and the job is done.
Is it safe to polish a deck head? I've heard from many vintage audio repair technicians that doing so is more detrimental than beneficial. And that a new head is better, if you can get one for the model you restored that is.
Some heads are very difficult to polish and are better left unpolished, such as glass-ferrite heads. There are also heads where the gap between the magnets has a conical shape, and polishing can widen this gap, causing the high frequencies to disappear. The head I polished has a consistent gap depth of about 1 mm, so considering this, it will be perfectly fine.
Now the standard is 230 volts +-10%. But unfortunately this tape recorder is old equipment and I would try not to use it in a 240 volt network, better through a stabilizer.
@@Repair3R i'm pretty shure it will work just fine. I live in Germany and i also tinkering around with a lot of old Hifi-Equipment. I never experienced something exploding. The only Time when i bumped into the Case of "too high Voltage" was a Sony Belt driven Turntable from the Neighbor going slightly to fast due to a unregulated Motor Circuit. He had that Player in the Basement for almost 30 Years and after the increse of Voltage the RPM were over the Pitchable Area. He lovered the Pitch Jog to -10 and even there it was to fast. I just grabbed a Watchmaker Screwdriver and went down to the Motor-Potentiometer and leveled it down. Everything else i know (and i know a lot) is just running nicely.
As an option, perhaps you can additionally protect the insides by installing a linear stabilizer type 78.. But I think you're right, nothing terrible will happen to it.
My friend, allow me to disagree with you. The antenna was replaced with a brand-new one. As for azimuth (oscilloscope at 10,000 Hz), speed (tone at 3,150 Hz), wow & flutter (3,150 Hz - 0.3%). I adjust everything. However, I don’t think it’s worth showing, I am not being looked at by service center employees! If viewers are interested, I will include it in the video. Regarding the magnetic head shown in the video, it can be polished. It all depends on the material the head is made of and the depth of grinding, which is influenced by the type of gap whether it’s conical or parallel (the change in playback frequencies depends on this)
One of the most impressive vintage electronics rebuilds/restorations I've ever seen on here. Spectacular work.

Good work I love seeing old stereos get a second chance at life
I was enjoying while watching this video. Pure relaxation for me.. 😊
It was in very bad condition (and the price was high for something so broken), now it's perfect ! Amazing skills.
That was a very clean and precise restoration. Never seen someone re-laping the record playback head before. Keep up the good work.
Thanks, my friend. Not all magnetic heads can be sanded, there are nuances, but it’s a reasonable option if replacement is not possible.

@@Repair3R White marking for the volume. So it is made by UV DTF printing. I will remember that. Thanks for your support.
Mind boggling! This was amazing, better than factory. The voice over at the end made me jump! How long did that actually take you?
I can't say for sure. Everything could be done faster, but I spend little time on it in a few days, since it is not my main activity.
Hi..May I ask where you got the inscription stickers from??
You are very good i enjoyed it !! thanks!
