The sea enclosure is meant to be open! So you can see the animals in their “natural” habitat. The boat is to go out, would usually have a glass bottom, and see all the fish in the ocean
zoo is looking good! don't really like that rock thingy around whales, I think that boat is there to go whale watching far away from the coast but I might be wrong. :) would love to see more detailing in the time lapse!/
The Services ..Police, Garbage, Fire Trucks at the Zoo have to drive all the way down to the Subs to turn around. Might want to make the Street in front of the Zoo a Complete Circuit... Where it Splits, connect it there where you put the service road 29:03. Unless the Service Vehicles are making a Sharp U-Turn to get back to their stations?
You need to put a slip lane so when the emergency service vehicles go respond to something at the zoo, they are able to stay on the loop and head back to their station. Loving the zoo btw!
I think the sealife enclosure is meant to be native wildlife and like a glass bottomed boat tour type thing so makes sense in open water.... also if you're planning on putting enclosures on the island that sealife one would be perfect
You should put a dirt road that leads into the zoo and place the Cable car on that and place a small dirt road on the other island which "pretend" to be a dirt path and place a cable car there.
for the maintenance for the zoo, you should move the start of that road to the 3 way intersection just a bit up so they dont have to go all the way around the one way
That view from the houses by the waterfall, overlooking the ocean, the city, and the future high density part... damn that's expensive land lol and you should turn one of the quarters in the zoo into a lake for future water animals!
James I must say you are an amazing artist! I've tried to do what you do in both Cities Skylines and the Sims to no avail. You should be proud of your work!!
I think you get a water/tourist exhibit, I think that would be really nice on the island. When you placed the crossing at the zoo the cars started parking on the road again. Apologies if you change it after I have said, still 10-11 minutes left of the video. :)
You can use that road you used as that service road near the zoo to put the cablecar station on. And than you can continue that road into a pathway on the island.
Your problem with lack of workers can be solved by making sure that the land value is high enough that the industrial buildings upgrade to a level where they will hire educated workers. Level one buildings needs uneducated workers, which you don't have and i believe that you cannot force the game to make them by expanding your residential zoning. The reason is that people will automatically get educated unless they maybe live like really far away with no public transport.
you should do a botanical garden in the zoo! the building is cool and it fits the amphibian and bird house + a lot of zoos have botanical gardens inside them
BingBong I don’t know what city Zoo you’ve been to? But the in3z I’ve been to don’t have any massive car parks....in fact the amount of parking he currently has seems pretty average
Two-Face I have been to city zoos before and they had huge parking lots. Smaller zoos anyway had smaller parking lots. It makes sense to have lots of parking lots for a city zoo since more people r in those areas.
Why not put a freeform key/dam thingy around the water animal enclosure and then put a pathway over the key? Could look nice! Also I think this zoo could use a ferris wheel. Guests can get on and get an awesome view of the ocean, zoo and the city in the distance. Oh and a bridge to the little Island!!
I love what you did with the monorails (and what you're planning)! As Leopolis said, look at Chongqing for inspiration/validation. Have you considered extending Seven Mile Beach to the zoo? You may not be able to do much with it, but it at least gives the appearance of being longer? Anyway, a lot of parks do have "pristine" areas that are less accessible, don't they?
Japan has a lot of monorail lines - a few of them do go underground for short distances through hills, but I think they're hanging style monorail rather than the straddle style monorail.
The big hill behind the zoo traffic oval should be apart of the park too just by way of pedestrian path. You could make it into one huge zoo/nature reserve/ botanical gardens park taking up the whole peninsula. It would really look good to if the city was looking over it across the other side of the water
Roman fort/castle on the hill by the zoo, yes? Could even make it a park and charge a small admittance for it's upkeep, much like medieval castles in the UK.
Heya have you considered instead of a big bridge across the bay have a ferry service that stops at a zoo side gate so you can get straight from the other side off the bay straight to the zoo via a side entrance?
I’m pretty sure a mass transit monorail to traverse mountainous region was proposed in Denver Colorado back in 2010. So it might not be as far off as you think.
Your cities look so much more "realistic" than other city-building UA-camrs that I watch. I think I need to adapt your style in my own cities! (BTW, you need to add this video to your PARK LIFE playlist.)
i really enjoyed this episode! you did a great job with the residential mountain area and the zoo is coming along nicely too :) can't wait to see it with all the landscaping!
{Time Stamps} 7:26 ||part 17|| ~ Don't forget to finish connecting those roads. (Just in case u forgot) 27:41 ||part 18|| ~ The Cable Car idea is really nice and some people bellow in the comments have some really neat ideas on how to get it to and through the zoo. ●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●● {My Ideas and Tips} •Many parts ago you said that you had a bunch of beach decorations for ur beach. You can decorate that for a future project for the city~ •I was also wondering if you were gonna be building an airport? I wouldn't use a huge bridge tho. It would take away the scenery. 《LOVE the city so far!》
You should of put the zoo on the hill, cause in case of a tsunami it would seem realistic too, and it would add that maybe the land where u put it is reclaimed land.
You said you could not tunnel the monorail. Did you try tunneling though the mountain with the road w/ the rail line , maybe if that goes through, you might get the monorail to go through, and have a road go through it as well.
For the cable car system in your zoo, you can place a little road and dont connect it with anything then your zoopaths, then also dont need to make a bridge to that little island.
Hi James, I know you probably won’t read this now but the MOM now is actually pretty stable and easy to use. It’s actually probably more stable than mods like 81 tiles... it also looks really awesome in game having the metro train above ground... 🙂 anyway, love the city so far!!
I don't know why it's like that but you should move your motorway where the industrial is. Move it towards the sea (remove the curve) & then use the motorway as a barrier between industrial & offices/commercial.
Hey, Flabaliki, in his Seenu series, Strictoaster had the same problem with rocks drooping into water and causing that weird texture glitch that you're experiencing in the Marine Life portion of your zoo. It took him a few episodes to overcome the issue (so, likely a month or so, but) he eventually came up with an asset (functions as a building, just as do the rocks you used) that would rectify your problem with that water glitch perfectly. You can find his asset here: steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=908908336&searchtext=dry+rock All the best! Keep up the great work, mate!
Aren't zoos typically away from every city life because uk they wouldn't want animal escapees to be near any city life? Idk about any other country but in my country, they take more safety precautions.
You could do a tunnel for the small island so you could use the cable car and only let service vehicles use it and the tunnel connects to the road at the zoo entrance
Hey James, this part is missing from your Park Life playlist and didn't show up in the sidebar after part 17 so it was a little confusing to find, just letting you know
In New Delhi India we have a complex metro(subway) system which is underground halfway and halfway works like monorail(somewhat as it's on bridge) and it's all connected and cool as you can see metro trains going around. So we can pretend that your monorail is somewhat overhaul subway😊.
Hey James, just wanna let you know that this part doesn't show up in the playlist - had a moment of major confusion when I went from part 17 to 19 and the zoo suddenly was completed, it took me a while to realise I had skipped a part :)
Do some carnival like games at the zoo and a Ferris wheel near some water so people at the zoo can ride the Ferris wheel to get great views of the zoo and the rest of the city from the zoo.
Me, totally not screaming at the screen, "James, have the sealife bit on the tiny island. PUT IT ON THE ISLAND JAMES!"
Agreed, and they could use underwater nets as fencing to keep the rays in.
I love how the hillside area turned out! I can't wait to see what the Zoo looks like when you're done decorating it!
Gotta say, my favourite attraction at Wallaby Zoo has to be the Elephants that half buried in the sand at 36:04
I think the sealife enclosure is meant to be native wildlife and like a glass bottomed boat tour type thing so makes sense in open water.... also if you're planning on putting enclosures on the island that sealife one would be perfect
You could do a hotel area down by the zoo and make it a proper tourist area even maybe one on the little island
I think you should put the sea animals enclosure in the island and without the rocky fence around it! We could pretend there’s one underwater!
You should put a dirt road that leads into the zoo and place the Cable car on that and place a small dirt road on the other island which "pretend" to be a dirt path and place a cable car there.
for the maintenance for the zoo, you should move the start of that road to the 3 way intersection just a bit up so they dont have to go all the way around the one way
it might be a good idea to build an airport soon to allow more tourists able to visit the city.
You should add the old zoo building from before Park Life somewhere around the zoo.
ooh or the panda sanctuary
your commentary on the revolutionairy animal sounds was HILARIOUS. Loved this vid!
As other suggested, you should add the Panda Sanctuary somewhere across from the zoo since it would blend in together.
That view from the houses by the waterfall, overlooking the ocean, the city, and the future high density part... damn that's expensive land lol and you should turn one of the quarters in the zoo into a lake for future water animals!
Couldn't you place the sealife on thr small island
7:24 Well, let me introduce you to the "Chongqing monorail system" in China!
Feel free to Google it
Also, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!
And you!!✌️
thank you!
Gwen S why are you saying thank you
James I must say you are an amazing artist! I've tried to do what you do in both Cities Skylines and the Sims to no avail. You should be proud of your work!!

You can use that road you used as that service road near the zoo to put the cablecar station on. And than you can continue that road into a pathway on the island.
You should build a wooden bridge over the waterfall !!! Maybe make it a little park?
Your problem with lack of workers can be solved by making sure that the land value is high enough that the industrial buildings upgrade to a level where they will hire educated workers.
Level one buildings needs uneducated workers, which you don't have and i believe that you cannot force the game to make them by expanding your residential zoning. The reason is that people will automatically get educated unless they maybe live like really far away with no public transport.
I think he said last episode that he actually has a mod to where people will work anywhere so education doesn't matter.
Oh, well that is a good point, and then my suggestion probably won't work ;)
the wall around the sealife enclosure doesn't look very good in my opinion, I think you should remove it or make it a lot smaller
I thought maybe it works like whale watching, so no enclosure needed.
I would be furious about this normally, but he said he was doing some beautification in a stream so I’m not bothered. I’m sure he’ll address it.
it's doggy just placing something on the one side of the zoo, and about the island, it's not a bad idea to turn it into a combined national park.
You should build a small lake in the zoo and then put the aquatic center inside of it
i just **love** how fast he built in the first portions of the episode, it **almost** seems like he's time lapsing!
you should do a botanical garden in the zoo! the building is cool and it fits the amphibian and bird house + a lot of zoos have botanical gardens inside them
Consider using a unique building, maybe a statue, at the zoo or just more around the city in general.
Would be really cool to have a massive carpark, like you would see at a real city Zoo, Maybe in the middle of the two roads...
12:22 In that circle make inner circle and in the middle put some statue, fountain etc.
Nvm
The "fence" you built around the seahorse enclosure could also be done by placing a road (or maybe even a pathway) in ground mode in the water 😁
Nicholas M very good idea..
There doesn’t need to be a fence there anyway, it should be open to the ocean
Why not put a freeform key/dam thingy around the water animal enclosure and then put a pathway over the key? Could look nice!
Also I think this zoo could use a ferris wheel. Guests can get on and get an awesome view of the ocean, zoo and the city in the distance.
Oh and a bridge to the little Island!!
Love coming back to your videos every now and again. They're so chill
Name the zoo : Zoobaliki
Flabazooki
It already has a name
Yeh but for a better name
VerTechFR It's not though. Wallaby Zoo is a great name, a nod to James home and a common zoo animal.
The circle with the cross in it of paths in the zoo (with the plazas) makes sense as it's the symbol for Earth
All these mountains and stuff really makes me miss terrain tools in Sims 4 very, very much.
you should use cable cars to connect the mountainous areas cuz some cities also use it as a public transportation system :)
Japan has a lot of monorail lines - a few of them do go underground for short distances through hills, but I think they're hanging style monorail rather than the straddle style monorail.
About garbage at the zoo, you can turn on the recycling on park policy.
The big hill behind the zoo traffic oval should be apart of the park too just by way of pedestrian path. You could make it into one huge zoo/nature reserve/ botanical gardens park taking up the whole peninsula. It would really look good to if the city was looking over it across the other side of the water
How about a ferry service direct across the bay, between the zoo and the main beach / amusement park.
I think that a had watched too many of your videos because when I'm playing Cities Skylines I talk like I'm making a video :D
Possibly on that little island and have it as a car park
Awesome episode, really like everything you've done here.

i really enjoyed this episode! you did a great job with the residential mountain area and the zoo is coming along nicely too :) can't wait to see it with all the landscaping!
You should put a hospital on either side of the new town/district so that residents have quick medical access especially on those hilly roads

Jack P.: Yellow Cab for life!

can you build a small industrial town in the middle of the map and then connect with trains
Hi James, I know you probably won’t read this now but the MOM now is actually pretty stable and easy to use. It’s actually probably more stable than mods like 81 tiles... it also looks really awesome in game having the metro train above ground... 🙂 anyway, love the city so far!!

There is a sort of monorail in California that runs from a parking structure up a huge mountain to an art museum at the top.
maybe a ferry on the island and another entrance

All the best! Keep up the great work, mate!
Calling it Wallaby Zoo is sort of like Werribee Zoo, which is an excellent Safari-style park outside of Melbourne.
you should also build a Beverly hills in the hills
Wolfi von Teichman that sounds stupid
The Skytrain in Vancouver, Canada. Goes up and thru a mountain!
I love the lil elephant that glitches through the ground with its butt I the air! At 36:05
Yaaaaass, my suggestion won. I have named a thing. My mum will finally be proud of me
You’ve got to get rid of those rocks and that raised sea enclosure it looks so bad, and how would the boat get in and out?😅
Aren't zoos typically away from every city life because uk they wouldn't want animal escapees to be near any city life? Idk about any other country but in my country, they take more safety precautions.
You could do a tunnel for the small island so you could use the cable car and only let service vehicles use it and the tunnel connects to the road at the zoo entrance
20:26 oh my god did anyone else see that amazing flip
You should put a statue on the small island, and fence on the zoo
Build a penguin exhibit on the island.
You should name the the residential Wallaby Hills, so it kinda seems like the zoo and hills are together.
Hey James, this part is missing from your Park Life playlist and didn't show up in the sidebar after part 17 so it was a little confusing to find, just letting you know

Check out Chongqing China high capacity Monorails. Plenty of hilly topography being traversed...
build a passage thru the aquatic life so that waterflow is not stagnant..
The more toilets the better in my opinion, nothing worse than going somewhere and needing a toilet then walking forever to find one.
The Bronx Zoo in New York has a cable car system as well
Innertuber40 why do you keep talking about things in new york
V3X Same as how James gets inspired by his home city, this game often makes me think of where I grew up as a kid
Haha, look at the elephants at 36:01. They sunk into the ground when he adjusted the hight.
Try to download a pathway with a nice bridge form for the zoo
freedom for the whales
Just a heads up, this episode is missing from the Park Life playlist. Love watching your cities grow!
Those sound effects belong in surreal memes
People parking on zoo road again after you put a crosswalk also could you add more parking lots?
Hey James, just wanna let you know that this part doesn't show up in the playlist - had a moment of major confusion when I went from part 17 to 19 and the zoo suddenly was completed, it took me a while to realise I had skipped a part :)
Walibi is also a rollercoaster theme park in the Netherlands.
Do some carnival like games at the zoo and a Ferris wheel near some water so people at the zoo can ride the Ferris wheel to get great views of the zoo and the rest of the city from the zoo.
this video isn't included in the park life playlist! i almost missed it doing my catchup
How can I find the that map on steam? I really like it
I used the mod metro overground and now i can't load my city any more. How do I do ? 😣
San Diego Zoo uses a cable car for mass transit and i think thatd be a good idea
He legit just built Dubbo, 😂😂 with the other main city being like Sydney or something.
Where's the boat gonna go lol?
36:08 elephant's head is stuck in the ground.
Use a ferry from 7 mile beach to the zoo and then just have another ferry that only goes from the main zoo to the little island.
that bit of water is too small lol, it would take longer to dock and undock the ferry than actually travel across to the island
Alright, but a ferry from 7 mile beach to the zoo is still workable and cool
Should make a monorail line to 6 shaped line like oedo line in tokyo
