Thank you for getting around to this one finally. Definitely a really catchy song. Despite the serious and dark lyrics, it's very easy to get moving to the beat. If I recall this was one of the first songs Nico was on after he joined the band, when they still went by their old name Eskimo Callboy before rebranding. ECs more serious side is an acquired taste for some. I love it all. Great reaction again.
The name change was finalized in March of 2022. So Hypy Hypa, Hate/Love, MC Thunder II, WGTM, Castrop X Spandau, Pump It! and the seven official Hypa Hypa alternatives were released under the old name. Spaceman was the first release as Electric Callboy. The first Spaceman trailer even shows the "reboot" of the previously released albums & EPs, if one looks to the screen on the screen attentively. They rebranded completely, changing the titles of all content on their channel but of course did not alter the videos themselves. Hate/Love was the follow up single to Hypa Hypa. In the bts/ making of for the latter one, Kevin mentioned they completed filming the video for Hate/Love the day before they started with the Hypa Hypa video.

I just love it and whenever I see them live it's that song I escalate to the most ^^ If you want to listen to other amazing but serious songs I highly recommend "Mindreader"!!

E.g. you can react to a song without copyright strikes or something like that under these and that conditions. How it is now, it feels very arbitrary. I see no pattern which songs are get blocked an which don't.
Nobody ever says it, but both this and Mindreader seem to be about toxic relationships, even violent ones, and showing that men can be victims of that too. So that's probably why he is all bloody and scarred.
I'm glad you were able to work around this one being blocked. This was early in Nico's time with the band, so, as you noticed, it still has the embedded reference to their old name, Eskimo Callboy. I think you are getting pretty far down the list of recent music by EC. I don't think you have reacted to F*ckboi or Arrow of Love yet, and those are both good and I think you will enjoy them, even though Arrow of Love doesn't really feature the band appearing in the video, it is fun and much more of a recent feel to it than the earlier MC Thunder videos. So, despite not getting to see the band, I suspect you will enjoy both the sound and story of the video. F*ckboi is a live collaboration with another band, and the video is pretty much just a performance, though with quite a bit of energy.
I was always under the impression that they allow reactions, many reactors said that after contacting EC their channel got "white listed" and there were no more copy right issues. As long as it is a reaction and not a re-upload with facial impressions and occasional laughs. They have reacted to reacts in the past and never complained about it. But maybe that has change recently or they are just too busy. Have you tried contacting them about your reactions?
Firstly it seems they're much more relaxed right after a new song release - so most reactors should have an easy time getting reactions up for that very song on the first couple of days right after its release. Then there seems to be a group of popular reactors who did successfully get in touch with EC to lift copy right issues and get them kind of "permanently white listed". But I guess there are just too many requests by reaction channels out there now.
Maybe it really depends on the popularity of the reactor to get this special treatment or its just the sheer amount of messages that they get. Sadly I have no non-public email where you could try, I would suggest trying to contact them directly via twitter or instagram. But it might be better to ask for advice from other reactors, as I understand it the reaction community is not very competetive but quite welcoming.
Ah, back to the more serious stuff by EC. I can't believe you still haven't done MINDREADER...that's so strange, all reactors try to avoid that song as long as possible, but when they finally do it, they suddenly have a new favorite 😂
If you haven't done so, and want to see more backstage stuff with the bad, their tour manager does roadie vlogs on YT. His channel is @TankTheTech and it's awesome! He started out reacting to EC along with other bands and then became their tour manager. The Vlogs are awesome if you want tobsee how the band acts and what goes into the show. He wears a Go-Pro during the shows to see it all.
There are always idiots who don't understand how difficult it is to beat the copyright stuff moaning about pauses and graphical overlays and so on for all reactors. Just one of the downsides to doing this!
Some publishers are so much more strict than others. It's hard to really get a gist of things when everyone is so different but I'll get it eventually!
