Great reaction! CMIYC surely is one of my favorite BABYMETAL songs (top 5 at least), and I also love the choreography here. It's so much fun and so energetic. "Karate" is a great choice and it's one of the songs I prefer the music video. "Awadama fever" is also amazing and very very catchy.

The cutest and heaviest song of all time. The dancers play a big part in this song which makes it more fun. Tokyo Dome is a blocking nightmare. It is from a limited edition DVD and they will guard that viciously to the point the producer and the BabyMetal security goon squad will show up at your house and beat you up, LOL. Awadama Fever is a great song and not covered enough, it is another fun song. Some critic called them bubblegum metal, so they wrote Awadama Fever which is about chewing bubblegum, "Ah Yeah! Fly off, chu, chu, chewing gum! [Oh yeah.]".
Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 Whereas current main band has been American Kamis since 2019, this original Japanese Kamis have been supporting BABYMETAL from the almost get-go. (Their last performance was in January 2023). Now I have enjoyed concerts by the original members. For example, on Sep 28 I went to see a concert of Kari Band organized by the 6-string bassist, BOH. (not Kami. "Kari" is a pun meaning "tentative, temporary, provisional") The two Kami Band are both great with virtuosity and have been supporting the girls like Samurais and Knights, both masked. The first BABYMETAL music video I watched is Gimme Chocolate. I was immediately hooked because it's a hard heavy song with three cute young girls singing and dancing a totally different song that made me confused. The musicians in the video are called Bonametal because they are dressed in skeleton suits. They are not really playing live but the large audience reactions seem real. There's also live versions with the Kami Band that are absolutely amazing. I suggest you watch more of their earlier music and live videos. 🦊🦊🦊

It was held on December 21st 2013 with her actual birthday being the day before. They couldn't afford a fuill-time band yet so the OG Kami Band only played the last 4 songs live with the girls. The video is approaching 200 million views . If you want to see a song with an intro from Kami Band East, I recommend Rondo of Nightmare from Budokan Black Night 2014. This is the original Kami Band, and Mikio is the first guitarist on the opening solo of this reaction. They started wearing masks in 2019, with the addition of Kami Band West (the Americans).

When they started their 2019-2020 world tour, wich was more extensive than what they did before, they apparently decided to hire musicians that can be more exclusive to Babymetal. The Western Kami band members are Chris Kelly (g), CJ Masciantonio (g), Clint Tustin (b, all three were formerly part of the Star Wars cover group Galactic Empire who were supporting Babymetal in 2018) and Anthony Barone (d, Shadow of Intent). In 2023 Ryan Neff (b, Miss May I) joined when Clint was not available for the US leg of the tour and for the 2024 summer festivals. The latest addition is Matt Deis (b, All That Remains), he played recently at the Okinawa show and is apparently doing the Latin America shows as he posted a picture of his arrival in São Paolo. So far we don't know if the Eastern Kami band will make a return in the future. The masks were also introduced in 2019, one of the reasons might be that western musicians vusially don't fit into the lore, another reason might be that they want the band to be more anonymous. Sadly the masks limit the interaction with the girls and the audience.
great reaction Abi-Metal, the Big Fox Fest was Yui's last performance,and the last time this song was performed, so it is quite special, and the Tokyo Dome version, is a choreo nightmare, where the girls are far away from each other, other notable versions are Budokan 2014, Wembley 2016, Legend 1997, because of the words and choreo, they don't perform this song anymore, the riff can't be lost to the world, they must re-work the song, I wish they would, so we can feel the thunder of that riff again, especially if they play it on 8 and 9 string guitars(thick thunder) all of the Kami guys have been wearing masks since 2019, they only way to tell the difference between them is: their body types and instruments, and the East Kami band is very rare lately, Not since Jan. of 2023. We really don't know why, and Team BABYMETAL ain't talking, a popular theory is the East guys don't want to go overseas on long tours anymore, they were originally brought into the team to give the band legitimacy, which they did, but they were so loved by the fans that it is hard for us to let go of them, but life happens and we must move forward, in a perfect world they would be older versions of the originals, but we have the results of this life happening, and the girls don't need any legitimacy anymore, all they need is a band talented enough to keep up with them, so I would suggest "Yava" double reaction, the first one being from Big Fox Fest 2017 and Legend MM 2024, both have a Kami intro one for the East and one for the West or a rarely seen video from Legend Metal Galaxy 2019, Day One, the East Kami band wore their white robes with the masks, because both bands played together on stage for the last song each night.
Yes, the first guitarist was Mikio (R.I.P.). The older songs were often more lively with more energetic choreography, and most of the lyrics were more child-oriented (wanting chocolate, and in this case playing hide-and-seek with an ogre). This added another layer of uniqueness in the metal scene. As the girls grew up, the lyrics got more serious and the music reflected that change. This is why most people ask reactors to start from the beginning and watch the girls and the music grow. But each chooses their own path, and I respect that. The Japanese Kami band did not wear masks and always wore face paint to signify "ghostly" ancestors (which is what Kami means). When the Western Kami was introduced, they wore masks, partly to hide their identity so people wouldn't notice when there were changes in band members (fans still noticed though). I have two suggestions: 1. So about the Babymetal Reactor Resource, in all of their videos they have a link in the description to a video without the logo, from outside UA-cam though, because they are often not safe from blocks. They did play CMIYC at Tokyo Dome: they played the first 2 albums full, apart from "From Dusk Till Dawn"! There is the whole Tokyo Dome concert online, obiously not on UA-cam Karate is a populare choice, the one i suggest is the live at Download 2016! Awadama Fever is Awesome, one of my favourites!!

A fun fact, Babymetal is playing the Knotfest (Slipknot's festivals) shows in South America soon, if not already. Yesterday, it was announced that Knotfest is coming to my home city (Brisbane, Australia) in March next year and the tickets go on sale Monday 21 October. Babymetal is in the festival lineup, so guess who is buying tickets on Monday haha.

Kami Band (kami being god or spirit) are the gods of guitar, bass and drums summoned from the dead to support BABYMETAL in the Metal resistance ... thus the corpse face paint and traditional white burial robes. The white robes were replaced with black in December 2017, the masks replaced the face paint in 2019. Both Kami Bands East and West dressed in black with masks from 2019 through to January 2023 (that last time to date that the Kami Band East appeared). The Kami Band West has been ever present since April 2023. The Reactor Resource has clear videos for you to watch as well as the ones with the logo that you can post. You can use the clear versions and add your own filter if you prefer. 'Catch Me If You Can' is the best metal song about playing a game that's a sort of cross between tag, blind man's bluff and hide & seek I've ever heard, but translating Oni as Tagger in the subtitles is a little misleading. It is the perfect mix of the two extremes with the brutal instrumentals and the sweet vocals - and the game they are playing, they're playing with an Oni👹 (a sort of Japanese ogre popular in regional festivals and used specifically to frighten children ... and the idea of that probably amuses me a lot more than it really should 😁). The growling vocals (they are mostly anonymous and, as you know, on a backing track) are the Oni asking things like "Are you ready?" and the best response has to be "Maada da yo" (No, not yet) while doing a running away from an Oni dance.🏃♀🏃♀🏃♀👹 'Awadama Fever' is a great song, so yes do that next, it doesn't get nearly enough love or reactions.

Great reaction to a great version of the song. The O.G. Eastern Kami band (in the makeup) are a band of incredible virtuoso musicians. It's one of the things that first hooked me on BM. The Western Kami band (in the masks) is, of course, also great but I have a bias towards this version of the band. Drummer Hideki is a double bass machine, guitarist Ohmura can shred with anyone, there aren't too many metal bassists that can play like BOH, and Mikio has rapidly become one of my all time favorites. Also, not wearing masks gives the Eastern Kamis a better chance to interact with the crowd - which they do often and with apparent glee. The "Awadama Fever" linked in the comments is a bunch of fun. @@Abigirl_Reacts IMHO this is the reason why the masks were introduced. I was introduced to BabyMetal here (UA-cam) through reactors doing videos of the 2014 through 2017 live shows. I was imprinted with BabyMetal = Su, Yui and Moa + the Kami band (one unit with 7 members). This was not what Kuba/Amuse intended. They didn’t want the musicians to become as important as the ladies. The trio started with backing tracks mimed by actors in skeletal costumes. That obviously wouldn’t fly in live performances for international audiences. Simply dropping the ‘BabyBones’ wouldn’t have worked much better as you would have the young ladies performing solely to the backing track-not something western festival goers would stand for. (I’m referring to rock/metal festivals, not pop performances.) Personally, I think they lost their way (or at least, lost me) in 2017-18 (which is funny, as I didn’t ‘find’ them until 2022), when Yui took a leave of absence (made permanent in 2018) and Mikio died. I’ve got their first 4 CDs and the concert videos for the 2014 Budokan Red & Black Night, Tokyo Dome Red & Black Night, and the 2016 Wembley shows; they’re in frequent rotation (the CDs on my iPhone and the concerts on my iPads). I do love those ‘early’ performances, but the current stuff just doesn’t interest me. YMMV.

Kawaii Metal at its peak! One of my favorite song for sure. Though there are 2 version of Kami Band (East and West), the masks are not technically signifying the different bands. It is just the more recent look of Kami Band. Kami band originally use face paint and white robes, then they changes to black robes in 2018, then eventually starts wearing masks around 2019, when the western Kami Band were introduced. But if both versions of Kami Band are to appear at the same time, the East Kami band would wear the white robe with masks to differentiate them. Which they did in early 2020. Since you mention some Kami band intro, and already saw "Awadama Fever", I would suggest going with that. It has the same energy as "Catch Me if You Can". "Tagger" should be ogre as it is in the other parts of the song, they were mimicking the ogres (I think) with the creepy hands at the break. Big Fox Festival (2017) was Yui's final appearance. Just to let you know, she wasn't in top form in this show. Her movement was very stiff and there were fewer smiles than usual from her. Catch Me If You Can at Tokyo Dome was done differently. Since it was on a round rotating stage, all three girls were spread out to different parts of the stage. I think it's best that you saw the traditional choreography with this one. My favorite version of this song comes the Metrock outdoor festival show from 2015. In fact, that show is the one most fans will recommend to new listeners. The crowd is something else at that one. There are a couple songs from it on UA-cam to pick from but it would be better if you could react to the whole show (~40 min) if you're up to it.

you are correct, Kobametal found the very best talent for the band. However, what sets them apart from all competition are the girls/women. More credit should be given to Koba for his orchestration of all of this. And you’re right, Yui and Moa did look a lot alike, that was one reason they were chosen for the band. Also, Yui and Moa tried out for Sakura Gakuin as a duo, and they were best friends as children, leading me to think the loss of Yui was especially painful for Moa.
Great to see the old kami band in action - I prefer unmasked personally - WAY more interaction with crowds and girls. good reaction to a really fun track!!. You'll probably see the most insane choreography with their younger stuff - they're usually "perspiring" rather much at times - and it's brilliantly frenetic :P Oh - Awadama Fever is wonderful :)

If you plan on doing Karate, normally I would recommend the official video, one of the very very few times I will with Babymetal, however, if you do a live version. Generally the most requested performance is the 2016 Download festival version. Some of that may be due to the history of Babymetal and Download (Notably between one of Download's promoters and Babymetal). To explain that, I believe after Sonisphere, fans were wanting to know if Babymetal would be getting booked a spot at Download, the promoter, Andy Copping essentially stated that there's a time and place for Babymetal, however Download would not be it, even going so far as to call them a Japanese fad. This led to them crashing Download in 2015 with an invite from Dragonforce to play a song during Dragonforce's set. Then in 2016 they were back at Download but with an invitation to the play on the main stage.

Don't get fooled, CMIYC is one of the most beloved BM songs. Unfortunately it haven't been performed since Yui left, I feel like it's one of those songs that reminds people of the original trio. I think now that BM is back as a trio they will eventually perform it again but if Moa slide under Su now she will throw her into orbit. But believe me, the crowd will go CRAZY if they perform it. This particular video is not very youtube friendly, Fox Festival 2017 didn't have a good camera angle in my opinion. There is the Budokan 2014 ( a blast ) and a very well done compilation around that you can react and post on youtube. I personally feel kind of sad and happy at the same time when I watch CMIYC because of Yui but it's a super heavy song song about hide and seek and I love it. Great reaction again

Especially Hideki the drummer who would make faces at them trying to get them to laugh. They were really cohesive as a band with a very cool vibe about them. Hi Abi! *first of all I wanted to make this comment as a donation in your Babymetal De4th(BMD) reaction but the option to donate doesn’t appear there don’t know why, I make you the donation in this video but all the context please take it as this was in your BMD reaction.* I’m glad you have finally dived into the Yui era, and now you’ve finally met one of their best concerts ever even if this one is and old one(it happened in Dec 2013) I’m going to tell you an important detail for your future reactions, please save it somewhere so you can remember it easily. Most of the songs from the Yui era due to the time the vids are a bit old and with not the best video quality, but fortunately nowadays there are some UA-cam channels that have enhanced most of those old videos to the 8k quality(in some cases there’s no 8k but 4k), in this case this performance you can find it in 8k so you can experience the vid at the max possible quality, in that video you’ll be able to see Su’s tears when she’s getting tied to the cross(in the Akatsuki unfinished version 90% less blue you’ll see her dropping those tears), and the same goes whenever you want to react to any of Yui era songs, when you go to look for them to react make sure to type 8k or 4k at the end of the name of the song and you’ll get the best quality video for the song you’re looking for, for example “Babymetal Megitsune 8k” of “Babymetal Headbanger 8k” etc. And now that you watched this version of Babymetal De4th you may want to watch the version with your favorite one Momo ❤️ as you’ve been explained they started using this song as opener in all of their concerts, I don’t want to put a link because Ty removes my comment, but try to find this with this exact name *“Babymetal - Babymetal De4th +intro (PIA Arena 2023 Live) Eng Subs”* it’s located in the “for the fox god” channel and hope you can gift us your reaction 🦊🤘 Two more things: You were asking which song was played before this one and the song is *“Akatsuki unfinished version”* the best version of that song is the one played in Budokan 2014 Black night but when you plan to react to the unfinished version of legend 1997 concert I recommend you to look for “#BABYMETAL - Akatsuki - Unfinished Version - 90% Less Blue Edit” that’s the exact name of the song, you’ll notice it says 90%less blue and you’ll wonder what does it mean, well, when you watch that specific video you could watch in your own free time the “normal” version of the song and you’ll notice the difference, the difference is that in that concert they used a ton of blue lights that made it almost impossible to notice what’s going on on the performance to us as expectators. That’s why we respectfully suggested you in the early days to dive into Yui era so you could understand the importance of those songs made in memory to him. I'm very excited because Babymetal are finally coming to my part of the world next week for the first time. I have tickets to all the S. American shows,both headlining and Knotfest shows. They just announced Knotfest shows for our fellow Kitsunes in Australia for early next year. They've been very busy since returning from their hiatus last year which means the "chip parties" show no signs of slowing down 😂
They had two kami bands, the east one (for shows in Japan and Asia) and the west one (for tours in Europe and the United States). Currently they only have the west kami band, they are all Americans and they are the ones who wear the masks. Agree entirely with your comparison between CMIYC and Tales Of The Destinies - this one is fun, rocking, it's one of the songs that got me into Babymetal in the first place while Destinies is (frankly) prog trash best left to the likes of Pink Floyd, lol.
I don't know if this is true, but I suspect something like it is: Some of Babymetal songs are partially made to prove a point, I think Tales of the Destinies is a fantastic song, that is also a statement to detractors at the time who claimed they were fabricated, fake, and similar. One of the most complicated and technically perfect performances ever, it is a statement. They use masks now so they can switch musicians without people noticing. I think the studio didn't like them getting recognition....and again, use the videos with the most views. They are the ones that sound and look the best

@@Abigirl_Reacts Fans tend to idealize the "original" lineup, formed indeed by Japanese musicians. The fact is that many musicians have played with the Kami Band during all these years. Some of them are incredibly underrated. They initially wore white robes and corpse paint, depicting the "god" or spirit" of each instrument. In 2018, they changed to darker robes. In 2019 they started wearing masks. Later in 2019 a second set of the band was added, formed by American musicians. At this point, both sets wore (usually) darker robes and masks just as we see them today. The eastern musicians played for the last time in January 2023. And I said "usually" just because the two shows I mentioned they played together in early 2020 are the exception (with the Japanese musicians wearing white robes again only for these shows). I like to consider only one band: the current, the musicians playing at each given moment. E.g. if I watch a show on Blu-ray from 2014, that's the "current" band. By the way, the members of the band have never been announced by their names officially. Also, they don't mention their work with BABYMETAL on their social media or anywhere else. Except for BOH (the bassist here) for some reason. The fans always know who they are, recognizing them by their tattoos, their general appearance or even by their instruments (yeah, we can do that!). I appreciate and respect every musician, even when it goes not so well (yes it happened). And I don't like when people criticize them just for not being the "original" lineup. Those same people have probably never seen them live anyway.
Mikio - Orange Guitar - Also called "Sensei" by the other members of the Kami Band, because as Boh puts it in a post, Mikio "was a walking musical encyclopedia" Ohmura - Glitter Guitar and long tongue Boh - Bald, Bassy Goodness! Hideki - Drums All amazing Sessions musicians.. masters at their craft. For me, Boh is still the best bassist Babymetal ever had. Had a very distinct sound and always could be heard.

I think is a comeback to the people who said they are making bubblegum music or something like that. The cutest and heaviest song of all time. The dancers play a big part in this song which makes it more fun. Tokyo Dome is a blocking nightmare. It is from a limited edition DVD and they will guard that viciously to the point the producer and the BabyMetal security goon squad will show up at your house and beat you up, LOL. Awadama Fever is a great song and not covered enough, it is another fun song. Some critic called them bubblegum metal, so they wrote Awadama Fever which is about chewing bubblegum, "Ah Yeah! Fly off, chu, chu, chewing gum! [Oh yeah.]".

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。 Whereas current main band has been American Kamis since 2019, this original Japanese Kamis have been supporting BABYMETAL from the almost get-go. (Their last performance was in January 2023). Now I have enjoyed concerts by the original members. For example, on Sep 28 I went to see a concert of Kari Band organized by the 6-string bassist, BOH. (not Kami. "Kari" is a pun meaning "tentative, temporary, provisional")
The two Kami Band are both great with virtuosity and have been supporting the girls like Samurais and Knights, both masked. For other info, you have already got it from comments by Grington300 and road-runner.

The first BABYMETAL music video I watched is Gimme Chocolate.
I was immediately hooked because it's a hard heavy song with three cute young girls singing and dancing a totally different song that made me confused.
The musicians in the video are called Bonametal because they are dressed in skeleton suits. They are not really playing live but the large audience reactions seem real.
There's also live versions with the Kami Band that are absolutely amazing.
I suggest you watch more of their earlier music and live videos.

It was held on December 21st 2013 with her actual birthday being the day before. They couldn't afford a fuill-time band yet so the OG Kami Band only played the last 4 songs live with the girls. The video is approaching 200 million views . I would recommend reacting to videos from this show, especially this version of Headbanger with the Kami Band and Babymetal Death, both versions of these songs from this concert have become iconic BM performances with the Kitsunes
If you want to see a song with an intro from Kami Band East, I recommend Rondo of Nightmare from Budokan Black Night 2014. This is the original Kami Band, and Mikio is the first guitarist on the opening solo of this reaction. They started wearing masks in 2019, with the addition of Kami Band West (the Americans).

@@Abigirl_Reacts All the Kami band members have other projects going besides Babymetal. When they started their 2019-2020 world tour, wich was more extensive than what they did before, they apparently decided to hire musicians that can be more exclusive to Babymetal.
The Western Kami band members are Chris Kelly (g), CJ Masciantonio (g), Clint Tustin (b, all three were formerly part of the Star Wars cover group Galactic Empire who were supporting Babymetal in 2018) and Anthony Barone (d, Shadow of Intent).
In 2023 Ryan Neff (b, Miss May I) joined when Clint was not available for the US leg of the tour and for the 2024 summer festivals.
The latest addition is Matt Deis (b, All That Remains), he played recently at the Okinawa show and is apparently doing the Latin America shows as he posted a picture of his arrival in São Paolo.
So far we don't know if the Eastern Kami band will make a return in the future.
The masks were also introduced in 2019, one of the reasons might be that western musicians vusially don't fit into the lore, another reason might be that they want the band to be more anonymous. Sadly the masks limit the interaction with the girls and the audience.

great reaction Abi-Metal, the Big Fox Fest was Yui's last performance,and the last time this song was performed, so it is quite special, and the Tokyo Dome version, is a choreo nightmare, where the girls are far away from each other, other notable versions are Budokan 2014, Wembley 2016, Legend 1997, because of the words and choreo, they don't perform this song anymore, the riff can't be lost to the world, they must re-work the song, I wish they would, so we can feel the thunder of that riff again, especially if they play it on 8 and 9 string guitars(thick thunder) all of the Kami guys have been wearing masks since 2019, they only way to tell the difference between them is: their body types and instruments, and the East Kami band is very rare lately, Not since Jan. of 2023. We really don't know why, and Team BABYMETAL ain't talking, a popular theory is the East guys don't want to go overseas on long tours anymore, they were originally brought into the team to give the band legitimacy, which they did, but they were so loved by the fans that it is hard for us to let go of them, but life happens and we must move forward, in a perfect world they would be older versions of the originals, but we have the results of this life happening, and the girls don't need any legitimacy anymore, all they need is a band talented enough to keep up with them, so I would suggest "Yava" double reaction, the first one being from Big Fox Fest 2017 and Legend MM 2024, both have a Kami intro one for the East and one for the West or a rarely seen video from Legend Metal Galaxy 2019, Day One, the East Kami band wore their white robes with the masks, because both bands played together on stage for the last song each night.
Yes, the first guitarist was Mikio (R.I.P.).
The older songs were often more lively with more energetic choreography, and most of the lyrics were more child-oriented (wanting chocolate, and in this case playing hide-and-seek with an ogre). This added another layer of uniqueness in the metal scene. As the girls grew up, the lyrics got more serious and the music reflected that change. This is why most people ask reactors to start from the beginning and watch the girls and the music grow. But each chooses their own path, and I respect that.
The Japanese Kami band did not wear masks and always wore face paint to signify "ghostly" ancestors (which is what Kami means). When the Western Kami was introduced, they wore masks, partly to hide their identity so people wouldn't notice when there were changes in band members (fans still noticed though).
I have two suggestions:
1. Ijime Dame Zettai live at Sonisphere (which is from the festival that was so important for reasons that will be explained when you do this.

A fun fact, Babymetal is playing the Knotfest (Slipknot's festivals) shows in South America soon, if not already. Yesterday, it was announced that Knotfest is coming to my home city (Brisbane, Australia) in March next year and the tickets go on sale Monday 21 October. Kami Band (kami being god or spirit) are the gods of guitar, bass and drums summoned from the dead to support BABYMETAL in the Metal resistance ... thus the corpse face paint and traditional white burial robes.
The white robes were replaced with black in December 2017, the masks replaced the face paint in 2019.
Both Kami Bands East and West dressed in black with masks from 2019 through to January 2023 (that last time to date that the Kami Band East appeared). The Kami Band West has been ever present since April 2023.
The Reactor Resource has clear videos for you to watch as well as the ones with the logo that you can post. You can use the clear versions and add your own filter if you prefer.
'Catch Me If You Can' is the best metal song about playing a game that's a sort of cross between tag, blind man's bluff and hide & seek I've ever heard, but translating Oni as Tagger in the subtitles is a little misleading.
It is the perfect mix of the two extremes with the brutal instrumentals and the sweet vocals - and the game they are playing, they're playing with an Oni👹 (a sort of Japanese ogre popular in regional festivals and used specifically to frighten children ... and the idea of that probably amuses me a lot more than it really should 😁).
The growling vocals (they are mostly anonymous and, as you know, on a backing track) are the Oni asking things like "Are you ready?" and the best response has to be "Maada da yo" (No, not yet) while doing a running away from an Oni dance.🏃♀🏃♀🏃♀👹
'Awadama Fever' is a great song, so yes do that next, it doesn't get nearly enough love or reactions.

Great reaction to a great version of the song. The O.G. Eastern Kami band (in the makeup) are a band of incredible virtuoso musicians. It's one of the things that first hooked me on BM. The Western Kami band (in the masks) is, of course, also great but I have a bias towards this version of the band. Drummer Hideki is a double bass machine, guitarist Ohmura can shred with anyone, there aren't too many metal bassists that can play like BOH, and Mikio has rapidly become one of my all time favorites. Also, not wearing masks gives the Eastern Kamis a better chance to interact with the crowd - which they do often and with apparent glee. The "Awadama Fever" linked in the comments is a bunch of fun. @@Abigirl_Reacts IMHO this is the reason why the masks were introduced. I was introduced to BabyMetal here (UA-cam) through reactors doing videos of the 2014 through 2017 live shows. I was imprinted with BabyMetal = Su, Yui and Moa + the Kami band (one unit with 7 members). This was not what Kuba/Amuse intended. They didn’t want the musicians to become as important as the ladies. The trio started with backing tracks mimed by actors in skeletal costumes. That obviously wouldn’t fly in live performances for international audiences. Simply dropping the ‘BabyBones’ wouldn’t have worked much better as you would have the young ladies performing solely to the backing track-not something western festival goers would stand for. (I’m referring to rock/metal festivals, not pop performances.)
Personally, I think they lost their way (or at least, lost me) in 2017-18 (which is funny, as I didn’t ‘find’ them until 2022), when Yui took a leave of absence (made permanent in 2018) and Mikio died. I’ve got their first 4 CDs and the concert videos for the 2014 Budokan Red & Black Night, Tokyo Dome Red & Black Night, and the 2016 Wembley shows; they’re in frequent rotation (the CDs on my iPhone and the concerts on my iPads). I do love those ‘early’ performances, but the current stuff just doesn’t interest me. YMMV.

Kawaii Metal at its peak! One of my favorite song for sure.
Though there are 2 version of Kami Band (East and West), the masks are not technically signifying the different bands. It is just the more recent look of Kami Band. Kami band originally use face paint and white robes, then they changes to black robes in 2018, then eventually starts wearing masks around 2019, when the western Kami Band were introduced. But if both versions of Kami Band are to appear at the same time, the East Kami band would wear the white robe with masks to differentiate them. Which they did in early 2020.
Since you mention some Kami band intro, and already saw "Awadama Fever", I would suggest going with that. It has the same energy as "Catch Me if You Can".

(East, Japanese players) Kami band, no masks, West (Non-Japanese). Boh, master of the 6 string Bass Guitar. "Tagger" should be ogre as it is in the other parts of the song, they were mimicking the ogres (I think) with the creepy hands at the break. ( look up Japanese story about red ogre and blue ogre, why kids are playing with them).

Big Fox Festival (2017) was Yui's final appearance. Just to let you know, she wasn't in top form in this show. Her movement was very stiff and there were fewer smiles than usual from her.
Catch Me If You Can at Tokyo Dome was done differently. Since it was on a round rotating stage, all three girls were spread out to different parts of the stage. I think it's best that you saw the traditional choreography with this one.
My favorite version of this song comes the Metrock outdoor festival show from 2015. In fact, that show is the one most fans will recommend to new listeners. The crowd is something else at that one. There are a couple songs from it on UA-cam to pick from but it would be better if you could react to the whole show (~40 min) if you're up to it.

you are correct, Kobametal found the very best talent for the band. However, what sets them apart from all competition are the girls/women. More credit should be given to Koba for his orchestration of all of this. And you’re right, Yui and Moa did look a lot alike, that was one reason they were chosen for the band. Also, Yui and Moa tried out for Sakura Gakuin as a duo, and they were best friends as children, leading me to think the loss of Yui was especially painful for Moa.

Great to see the old kami band in action - I prefer unmasked personally - WAY more interaction with crowds and girls. good reaction to a really fun track!!. You'll probably see the most insane choreography with their younger stuff - they're usually "perspiring" rather much at times - and it's brilliantly frenetic :P Oh - Awadama Fever is wonderful :)

If you plan on doing Karate, normally I would recommend the official video, one of the very very few times I will with Babymetal, however, if you do a live version. Generally the most requested performance is the 2016 Download festival version. Some of that may be due to the history of Babymetal and Download (Notably between one of Download's promoters and Babymetal). To explain that, I believe after Sonisphere, fans were wanting to know if Babymetal would be getting booked a spot at Download, the promoter, Andy Copping essentially stated that there's a time and place for Babymetal, however Download would not be it, even going so far as to call them a Japanese fad. This led to them crashing Download in 2015 with an invite from Dragonforce to play a song during Dragonforce's set. Then in 2016 they were back at Download but with an invitation to the play on the main stage.
That download festival seems pretty badass!

Don't get fooled, CMIYC is one of the most beloved BM songs. Unfortunately it haven't been performed since Yui left, I feel like it's one of those songs that reminds people of the original trio. I think now that BM is back as a trio they will eventually perform it again but if Moa slide under Su now she will throw her into orbit. But believe me, the crowd will go CRAZY if they perform it. This particular video is not very youtube friendly, Fox Festival 2017 didn't have a good camera angle in my opinion. There is the Budokan 2014 ( a blast ) and a very well done compilation around that you can react and post on youtube. I personally feel kind of sad and happy at the same time when I watch CMIYC because of Yui but it's a super heavy song song about hide and seek and I love it. Great reaction again

This is my favorite version of the Kami Band,they were very interactive and playful with the girls during concerts. Especially Hideki the drummer who would make faces at them trying to get them to laugh. They were really cohesive as a band with a very cool vibe about them. I’m glad you have finally dived into the Yui era, and now you’ve finally met one of their best concerts ever even if this one is and old one(it happened in Dec 2013)
I’m going to tell you an important detail for your future reactions, please save it somewhere so you can remember it easily. Most of the songs from the Yui era due to the time the vids are a bit old and with not the best video quality, but fortunately nowadays there are some UA-cam channels that have enhanced most of those old videos to the 8k quality(in some cases there’s no 8k but 4k), in this case this performance you can find it in 8k so you can experience the vid at the max possible quality, in that video you’ll be able to see Su’s tears when she’s getting tied to the cross(in the Akatsuki unfinished version 90% less blue you’ll see her dropping those tears), and the same goes whenever you want to react to any of Yui era songs, when you go to look for them to react make sure to type 8k or 4k at the end of the name of the song and you’ll get the best quality video for the song you’re looking for, for example “Babymetal Megitsune 8k” of “Babymetal Headbanger 8k” etc.
And now that you watched this version of Babymetal De4th you may want to watch the version with your favorite one Momo ❤️ as you’ve been explained they started using this song as opener in all of their concerts, I don’t want to put a link because Ty removes my comment, but try to find this with this exact name *“Babymetal - Babymetal De4th +intro (PIA Arena 2023 Live) Eng Subs”* it’s located in the “for the fox god” channel and hope you can gift us your reaction 🦊🤘

You were asking which song was played before this one and the song is *“Akatsuki unfinished version”* the best version of that song is the one played in Budokan 2014 Black night but when you plan to react to the unfinished version of legend 1997 concert I recommend you to look for “#BABYMETAL - Akatsuki - Unfinished Version - 90% Less Blue Edit” that’s the exact name of the song, you’ll notice it says 90%less blue and you’ll wonder what does it mean, well, when you watch that specific video you could watch in your own free time the “normal” version of the song and you’ll notice the difference, the difference is that in that concert they used a ton of blue lights that made it almost impossible to notice what’s going on on the performance to us as expectators.
And one last thing, now that you dived into Yui era you got to know the original Kami band and specifically Mikio Fujioka the one who passed away in 2018, the girls composed 3 songs as a tribute to him, that group of songs is called “trilogy of light”. When you didn’t want to dive into Yui era I was afraid that you watch to those songs because you wouldn’t have the same effect and respect by not knowing who Mikio Fujioka was, now that you know him you could watch the trilogy of light. That’s why we respectfully suggested you in the early days to dive into Yui era so you could understand the importance of those songs made in memory to him.
There are some other awesome songs where the Kami band shines like “Rondo of Nightmare - black budokan 2014” “Akatsuki from Budokan black night 2014” or “Ijime,Dame,Zettai from Sonisphere UK 2016” “Yava in 2017” “Headbanger from legend of 1997” the last 5 songs of that concert were played by the official Kami band, those are almost the most iconic songs where the original Kami band plays, you can enjoy them there, hope you can bring us more Babymetal reactions Abi take care 🤘🔥

I don't know if this is true, but I suspect something like it is: Some of Babymetal songs are partially made to prove a point, I think Tales of the Destinies is a fantastic song, that is also a statement to detractors at the time who claimed they were fabricated, fake, and similar. One of the most complicated and technically perfect performances ever, it is a statement. Most of their songs, like this one, are just for the pure joy of making music that mixes elements of jpop and metal to make something cool, fun, and while still brilliantly well performed that isn't so much the point.

Tales of Destinies was a one time demonstration that they can handle such stuff, but neither the girls, nor zhe band was thrilled.

They use masks now so they can switch musicians without people noticing. I think the studio didn't like them getting recognition....and again, use the videos with the most views. They are the ones that sound and look the best

@@Abigirl_Reacts Fans tend to idealize the "original" lineup, formed indeed by Japanese musicians. The fact is that many musicians have played with the Kami Band during all these years. Some of them are incredibly underrated.
They initially wore white robes and corpse paint, depicting the "god" or spirit" of each instrument. In 2018, they changed to darker robes. In 2019 they started wearing masks. Later in 2019 a second set of the band was added, formed by American musicians. At this point, both sets wore (usually) darker robes and masks just as we see them today. The eastern musicians played for the last time in January 2023. And I said "usually" just because the two shows I mentioned they played together in early 2020 are the exception (with the Japanese musicians wearing white robes again only for these shows).
I like to consider only one band: the current, the musicians playing at each given moment. E.g. if I watch a show on Blu-ray from 2014, that's the "current" band.
By the way, the members of the band have never been announced by their names officially. Also, they don't mention their work with BABYMETAL on their social media or anywhere else. Except for BOH (the bassist here) for some reason. The fans always know who they are, recognizing them by their tattoos, their general appearance or even by their instruments (yeah, we can do that!). I appreciate and respect every musician, even when it goes not so well (yes it happened). And I don't like when people criticize them just for not being the "original" lineup. Those same people have probably never seen them live anyway.

Hi, great reaction. Yes, the guys with the mask are the Kami West and the guys with the face paint are the Kami Est. Awadama Fever is a great song. I think is a comeback to the people who said they are making bubblegum music or something like that. Karate is a legendary song by Babymetal sooner or later you will listen to both of them, there is no wrong choice with BABYMETAL
