This is the band no one knew they needed until they heard it. This video taught how to garden my yard and though it disturbs my neighbors this is their favorite song for a year. They take the music seriously they do not take themselves seriously, is the reason we all love them. This Was gonna be the recommendation for when you ready to do a live song. You know what's coming? As I mentioned in your first reaction to EC, they were fantastic live, this song was awesome and of course the crowd went nuts for the techno breakdown and singing the "Dop-död-död-dop" part. I actually steered clear of any live performances as much as I could though for them so I could have that experience in person beforehand. That being said, after the music videos, I would definitely check some out.
Yeah - that's my plan. Knock out the list of OMV's that have been recommended and then watch some of the BTS stuff, docs, live etc. There's a LOT for me to get through so hopefully everyone sticks along for the ride 🚗

This was my first song as well. Was a random recommendation from UA-cam. It started out, I'm like okay... then it hits and I was speechless. Was the best feeling of my life from music. Now the closest I can get to that feeling again is watching others experience for the first time. And almost everyone is like "WTF is this? ... I love IT!!!"
From a views standpoint, I think this is still their biggest and popular song, right? I can definitely understand why. But I doubt they have a bad song so imagine any track they chose as the closer would send the crowd nuts!

I'm definitely more of an EC fan than of Babymetal, but I do enjoy both and their collab is something I suspect you will really enjoy. You've convinced me that I should subscribe, since I've enjoyed a variety of your reactions so far and look forward to more. Thanks for the entertaining reactions and commentary. If you want to get a little more out of your usual in terms of listening, I recommend trying the cover of Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters" by Voiceplay. Voiceplay is an a capella band (for the most part), but it is pretty amazing what they can bring to a cover like that and just how metal they can sound. If you end up enjoying that one, they have a really big list of songs to explore from almost every genre. They are also fairly theatrical, which tends to make their videos a lot of fun to watch. They also have a huge fan base with plenty of people who will appreciate your open-minded exploration of lots of different music. Also, no need to apologize for liking and preferring certain artists over others. Despite the fact that especially Dimash fans seem to have a hard time accepting that you, as well as many others, prefer other genres and performers over him, I really enjoyed the fact that you can appreciate his artistry despite not wanting to listen to him regularly. Keep exploring and you will find lots of great music to both add to your regular playlists, as well as to appreciate for the skill and artistry. I love Dimash's amazing performances, but like you, don't really have him on my regular listen rotation.

I've actually got my first ever BM reaction coming out on Thursday, so am excited to see how that one goes down 😁 I wanted to do EC and BM reactions independently first before I attempt their colab. But I can't wait to hear it. I've just done a little Google search and I've added Voiceplay to my list 👍 I love doing metal reactions, but it's cool to hear stuff outside of my comfort zone or which I may not listen to in my leisure. And sometimes I think it actually makes better reactions when you are summarising things you don't know a lot about, like when Rappers or Classical Musicians/Singers react to metal, or a Metalhead reacting to pop. I also like the idea (in my head, at least) of doing a reaction to say, someone like Dimash, and then his fans watch some of my other stuff and fall in love with Electric Callboy, for example. I know not all viewers watch all of my videos and are solely here to watch that one artist (because they are so fanatical they listen to nothing else), but I do get a kick out of knowing people have been turned on to something new by watching one of my vids.

If you want to see this song live, there are some live versions on YT. 🙂 Otherwise there are so many songs to react. From the 10 songs of their album "Tekkno" 9 have a video clip. I recommend for example "Everytime We Touch", "Tekkno Train", "Spaceman", or their collaboration song with "Babymetal" "Ratatata", no necessarily in that order.

I've actually been thinking about the whole sexy ladies thing in their videos, and why it doesn't come across as sexist or exploiting to me. Yeah, of course, sex sells, and who doesn't like to look at a stunning person, male or female. I think it's a mix of different factors with EC. They present themselves as dorks and goofballs with their (intentionally) ridiculous wigs and outfits. In contrast to the attractive women, they look even goofier. Also, in all their videos with attractive women, the women look like they could easily kick their asses if they wanted to (especially in Pump It). If you know of them in real life, you know that they absolutely would kick your ass if you didn't treat them respectfully in real-life situations. So, that adds to the impression. In addition to that, while they interact with the women in some videos, it's never sleazy or very physical. Hell, Kevin and Nico have more intimate physical interactions in some videos and on stage than with the women in the videos. And the way the women are inserted in the videos, they just have fun, too, just looking great while doing so. Now, goof vs hot chick isn't a new concept, it's pretty much every 90s/early 2000s sitcom. But the difference is, in the videos, they aren't fawning over the EC guys, they aren't the price at the end. They're just doing their thing and from a narrative point of view, it looks like if they hadn't crossed paths with the EC guys, they'd have fun while being fabulous just the same, just without them. Also, while many lyrics in many songs are sexually charged, often not so subtly, the narrative isn't "Uh, look at me, I'm the greatest stud in the world, I can take all of you, at once, for hours!", it's more like loud cheesy pick-up and flirt lines that let them look like dorks or even, let's say, not that great. At things. See Tekkno Train. I suppose that creates songs that are sexual but in a fun, non-horny, non-threatening way and that makes them, well, fun.
It's gotta be "Pump it" next 😂 seem to be the trinity of reactions and then you can move on to "Tekkno Train" and "Every time we touch" (yes they covered that banger) I prefer their heavier stuff like "MC Thunder" "Crystals" and "Parasite" and even "MindReader" Welcome to what I call Millennial Metal. A mix of metal and the dance music from the late 90's!
You minght try "Nanowar of steel". Another band with lots of humor. Metal band doing very funny stuff. Very vell thought funny stuff. Maybe "Norwegian Reggetron" for start? Or "Valhalleluja"?

@@melvinthinks they are this weekend starting the last stint of the festival season with 5 more European festivals, then they will probably spend some mote time working on a next album since they have been touring almost non stop for the last 2-3 years. And preparing for their own festival “Escalation Fest” in Oberhausen next 1 Februari 2025.

I've actually been thinking about the whole sexy ladies thing in their videos, and why it doesn't come across as sexist or exploiting to me. Yeah, of course, sex sells, and who doesn't like to look at a stunning person, male or female. I think it's a mix of different factors with EC. They present themselves as dorks and goofballs with their (intentionally) ridiculous wigs and outfits. In contrast to the attractive women, they look even goofier. Also, in all their videos with attractive women, the women look like they could easily kick their asses if they wanted to (especially in Pump It). If you know of them in real life, you know that they absolutely would kick your ass if you didn't treat them respectfully in real-life situations. So, that adds to the impression.
In addition to that, while they interact with the women in some videos, it's never sleazy or very physical. Hell, Kevin and Nico have more intimate physical interactions in some videos and on stage than with the women in the videos.
And the way the women are inserted in the videos, they just have fun, too, just looking great while doing so. Now, goof vs hot chick isn't a new concept, it's pretty much every 90s/early 2000s sitcom. But the difference is, in the videos, they aren't fawning over the EC guys, they aren't the price at the end. They're just doing their thing and from a narrative point of view, it looks like if they hadn't crossed paths with the EC guys, they'd have fun while being fabulous just the same, just without them.
Also, while many lyrics in many songs are sexually charged, often not so subtly, the narrative isn't "Uh, look at me, I'm the greatest stud in the world, I can take all of you, at once, for hours!", it's more like loud cheesy pick-up and flirt lines that let them look like dorks or even, let's say, not that great. At things. See Tekkno Train. I suppose that creates songs that are sexual but in a fun, non-horny, non-threatening way and that makes them, well, fun.

@@melvinthinks Sorry, so used to stirring up both my English, and Welsh friends that it just flows out these days without a second thought. lol That said though, EC are an amazing group. I don't think I've heard a song from them that I have not liked. There's a couple that I've thought they were meh, not bad.... but I don't think I've disliked anything by them.
I've only done two videos so far, but they've been one of my favourite discoveries on the channel! Can't wait for more.
