1:40 The intro has a four bar structure, with 6/8, 6/8, 5/8 and 6/8 bars. Most people (even professional musicians) are unable to grasp the time signature of the intro at the the first time. Even though there was a "break" in the middle, it was actually a very elaborate (pre-recorded) orchestral interlude with woodwinds and strings.

Abi, you know, you're right...I've never actually realised that Marko was higher in the mix than Floor, considering that he is, as it were complimenting her vocal line. Well you learn something every day.

Greetings Abi. Many, including myself like to think of Marko as Floor's vocal match made in heaven. Unfortunately, Marko resigned from Nightwish on January 12, 2021 via an online open letter. Just Google Marko Hietala resignation letter. There you will also see the band's response. About the voice levels... Youre funny! lmao Youre the first to ever say that about Marko. If it helps, Marko is a hell of a singer and is in 2 bands named Tarot and Northern Kings while in Nightwish. He still plays with them. He also takes lead vicals for Nightwish in a couple songs he wrote; "The Islander" and "While Your Lips Are Still Red". Other songs, however, do have his volume level to match Floor's because that's how it is meant to sound. So it's not the loudness of his voice or an unfortunate mic level mishap. Yeah, it’s not that Marco is projecting louder than floor. I mean I’m sure at times he is louder, but it’s for a purpose and there’s definitely times when floor is louder than Marco, but it’s never a competition between these two their voices together which I’m sure you’ve heard are just phenomenal and both of their voices together are already greatly missed and that’s no deep dark secret.

I am not disturbed by Marco's volume. The idea of the song is, everything to the max in a big way, the drums, Marco, Floor, everyting. You would be right to be disturbed in the pop setting. In metal, the maximum noise is a quality in itself.

I don't think Floor is bothered by clapping audience. She has earbuds in and she usually only links in with the sound of the drum and the base in her ears. The rest she knows by heart. To put it consise, she does not hear the audience, and she does not hear half of the band. At least that is what she said in an interview. She is very precise with the volume of the earbuds in relation to her own singing. You will see her correcting them physically and electronically multiple times during a concert. Fun fact, the guitar player (Empuu) once disconnected her earbuds during a concert leaving Floor helpless. She took revenge the next concert by putting apple juice in his Corona beer bottle that he drinks during the concerts (he hates apple juice).

Marko's parts are fairly brief in this song and I don't find they overpower Floor at all - Marko is more than an accompaniment, he's a fabulous singer in his own right, it's just that in many of the songs, the parts written for him are not as long. It would be a bit odd for those brief parts to be low in the mix - they've clearly made a choice to mix it in that way (Nightwish is very deliberate (in a good way) with their soundscapes) and it's probably done that way to build the emotional response they're looking to project.

Again, the music was good.
