Thanks, Mark! Your video was exactly what my Digitakt needed. Instead of Alcohol Swabs I used small squares of kitchen roll (paper towels) soaked in alcohol. Luckily, I also found a scalpel blade at home, so I applied the same treatment to the button mechanisms just like you showed. It worked perfectly! Buttons 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 10, 12, 13, and 14 used to stick occasionally, but now they’re working like new. Huge thanks!
@@marksnelgrove Although Elektron's special polycarbonate dust covers for the Digitakts are quite expensive, I think they are a good investment. I am now covering my Digitakt whenever it's not in use.
I used your method, Mark, and, although I used diamond cleaner (as this is what this household has plenty of) instead of swibby swabs of alcohol, it worked well. So you made me a little bit happy. Thank you!
I just got the Digitone 2 and my trig 1 is already sticking. Any suggestions on tools to pry out the buttons that aren’t so sharp? 😅 Appreciate you tinkering with this. The other options to fix sticky trigs all involve taking the box apart and I really wanna avoid that.
Paper towel wrapped skinny screwdriver could work. If you have a car parts place near you they have little tools to pop off Body Work. They’re made of plastic so they shouldn’t mark the finish.
@ can’t say thank you enough man 🙏. I’ve been driving myself crazy trying to find the safest approach. Running to auto zone in the morning 🫡 will report with the results. I was about to go at it with a butter knife lol.
Very interesting... some of my buttons do the same and I thought it was the button catching on the side of the top panel? Thanks. I'll give it a go. I might try some contract cleaner spray 😃
@@santiagorulo I sent it to service, and Elektron sent in back to me fixed. Couldnt find any better solution... Just email them and ask for service prices, highly recommended.
How much you paid for a set , i'm thinking of buying anyverssary edition one to put it on a balck device lol Great video i wanted to know how to put them off , i learned in the process how to clean and about a typical problem i will certainly encouter with my syntakt @@marksnelgrove
Thanks for the demonstration! My newly acquired used Digitone is having severe double pressing issue. For example, a trig contains C E G B notes and a bunch para locks. When I keep pressing it and YES to audition, or simply trying to tweak something, a big chance is it is back to nothing, with no para locks and a single note C in it. Apparently it is being pressed twice in a flash and that equals delete and add a trig… This is driving me nuts. I will try your way and see if it could be easily fixed somehow.
@@24hardkor sticky buttons? This def works. Go ahead and try. My problem is the opposite... Overly sensitive. I will try this anyway when I get back from holiday next week

Great to hear. I’m curious to see if the Digitakt 2 ends up having the same issue.

Brand new Analog Four for me! Works well for note keys ;) Many thanks!!!
Thanks for the hint ! My Octatrack has a button in this exact same situation, will try that !

See my comment with a link to elektronauts. Fixed my DT nicely.
Can this be applied to Octatrack mki track buttons? My T7 is a bit unresponsive at the moment.
Hi friend, did you find any solution?, I have the same problem

Hey, where can you purchase key cups for Digitakt?
Hit up Electron directly. I bough new ones from them. Bunch of mine began to degrade and have that nasty sticky touch. All better now.
