I bought it in my local shop, so I don't have any good links. (And I just don't want to throw random links) Just one important thing to look when buying that the button must be water and dustproof. If your button is like mine, it makes no difference how you connect those wires (they only need to briefly touch each other to activate the lock)
@@Work_G I assume with a 30mm button you ould you use sealent. What would be your go to for that? Anything that wouldn't seep out? Also, when you activate the wiper at the stalk by the steering wheel it doesn't pop open the glass does it?
@@Residew May be o ring, or still same sealant and just clean up nicely. When you activate rear wiper motor, it will work and spin freely, glass opening has nothing to do with it
Did you ever do this yourself? If so what are the dimensions needed? I love the concept and I was surprised to find a video on what I thought was such a specific idea.
Do you have some links to buy the button? Does it matter where to put negative and postitve? Nice tutorial 🙌🏻

I want to do this so bad. Any dimensions for the button and washer?
Hole in glass is 30 mm wide, see what you can find, ideally you could put only button that could fill all the space

That a cool but is the bottom water proof when it rains
Yes it is IP67 (if I remember correctly) This is my second winter of driving like this and I have no problems with snow, rain and dirt
What happens when the car is locked with the key and you press the button, does it open or not?
It won't open when car is locked. It works just like original button
whats the dimension of the button thread (wiper hole)?
thanks
hole in glass - 30 mm
How thick is the spacer
Sorry I didn't write it down and I don't remember it now and there's no way for me to measure it. Its like 8 - 15 mm
Is the button a latching or momentary please
for this application button must be momentary
Motion sensor button be better, like Airport toilets
But can it handle rain and snow?
@@Work_G they're a sealed unit as you don't press it
@@5tevenH Ok, I get that, but if they are motion activated won't they activate (and release the lock) from snow layer?
@Work_G well no, because the button only works when the car is in use.
Can you please share the 3D print file? 😁
I would if I could but I don't have the file
@@Work_G i could make it myself if you would share the dimsensions for it.
@@akselsm417 Now there is no way to accurately measure hole in glass without removing it, and buttons can be different sizes

Paint the button black
Great idea it probably would look even more sleek 👍
