    Thank you for this video ❤ I have been using the Stephenson cosmetic base for my scrubs and I usually pay 12.50 for a 2 pound container. Do you think this is more cost effective?

    Hello Revega from Greece!
    Can I add some oils or butters and how many?

    This is fabulous! Looking at the final demo it looks like it stays soft. Does it keep the soft pillowy texture? One other question…instead of grating solid soap, could you hot process the soap, then add the stearic, glycerin & water as a final cook? Would that work…just thinking of eliminating one step 🤣. Thank you for sharing 🙏🏻

      It firms up a bit after a day or so, but how much depends on how much you whip in the first place. It’s similar to the pre-made bases.
      As for doing it via hot process, I’m not sure tbh. I would think it might interfere with saponification, so would say no you couldn’t do that way, but I don’t know. Best way to find out is to experiment :)

    So excited to try this! My only concern is that the stearic acid I have is granular in texture and yours looks powdery. Do you think it will still work?

    • @revegacosmetics
      @revegacosmetics  5 місяців тому

      I'd imagine so as long as it melts. I've not used the granular version, so can't say for sure. Maybe try melting separately before adding.

      @@revegacosmetics That's a good idea. I'll try that. Thank you.

    this is great, thank you! 🙏 ❤️ I’ve been looking for something like this for awhile, -as opposed to premade base. I was wondering, would it be possible to replace the stearic acid with something like cocoa butter? I do have stearic acid here, but I was wondering if I could maybe boost the emollient effect a bit. thanks in advance

      Cetyl alcohol if you want to keep it vegan, otherwise a very small amount of beeswax would also help

    I definitely need to try this myself have loads of soap shreds ( really bed ashing 😢),
    Do you think I could add some citric acid to reduce the ph?

    • @revegacosmetics
      @revegacosmetics  Рік тому

      You could, but soap is soap and naturally a higher pH, you could add some more humectant and an oil to moisturise more if you wanted. if you want a more pH balanced whipped product I’d go with my whipped soap/bath whip formulas instead.

    If you were to add Coco betaine, would you add that in the last part of the recipe or melt it in with the first part?

    • @revegacosmetics
      @revegacosmetics  Рік тому +2

      You could do either, but I think personally I’d add it to the end to avoid to many bubbles during the process.

    Actually, your "overwhipped" texture is the way I like it! 😅 Just a bit stiffer with more body!

    • @revegacosmetics
      @revegacosmetics  Рік тому +1

      Haha! Thank you, though I did overwhip too much as it was a bit crumbly to use. The other half was perfect though :)

    Unfortunately this recipe does not work.. I don't know what you have in your bowl but it's not that. I've used your formula exactly and its failed twice, no fluffy whipped texture, it's a weird texture and it doesn't bubble, I tested the bubbles on the actual soap before melting it all and it's definitely bubbly but doesn't end up that way. So disappointed with the waste of glycerin and stearic acid.

      Results will vary depending on the soap bars you start off with.
      Texture can change depending on how much or little you whip too. Sorry it’s not working for you.

      That is disappointing. If my cake does not work out I do not go to the person that posted the recipe and tell them that their recipe is crap. It's something that I did. This does work I've made it twice. Some people add 10% SCI and 10% bubble up or CocoB. Plus you can always remelt it and try to change it to your liking.

      Use dove or caress soap bars
