If you open an encyclopedia, you'll learn that there are different seasons in Jamaica and all your travel guides would suggest that the best time to visit Jamaica is WINTER. However, is it really true? This video will show not only what the best time to visit Jamaica is, but also why it is so.
We'll talk about dry season and rainy season and if there is really a difference between them. What about hurricanes in Jamaica? How often do they happen and what are the ways to avoid them. I will also share tips on where it's better to stay in Jamaica to avoid rain and when you should come to avoid crowds. Please watch this video if you wish to find the answer to the common questions "when is the best time to travel to Jamaica?".

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
====
My name is Irina Bruce. I'm originally from Ukraine, but I've been living in Jamaica since 2014.
I chose Jamaica because it is one of the best countries in the world, and yes, I had travelled the world for many years before I chose Jamaica as the place to relocate.
This channel is to share my experience of living in Jamaica as a foreigner and, hopefully, my tips will help other travellers who are planning their vacation in Jamaica.
Your channel is underrated! You need more subscribers!!! This is top-notch marketing for Jamaica. I see so many Jamaican UA-camrs with many subscribers and views and their contents are mundane, banal and lack creativity. I guess you have to start from scratch. I subscribed to your channel by just watching one video. Keep up the good work.
Thank you so much for your support! I started the channel only a week ago and happy to see that people find my videos useful! I currently plan to post once a week, but let's see if I can manage at least 2 videos per week. Once again, thank you! More cool stuff coming up soon!
She is rising and will grow rapidly. True what you said about the other Jamaican vloggers. I see that most of them are young and self centered. Irina is quite the opposite. she is sharing knowledge and information about the island. So far, the other two UA-camrs I see, who are on par with her are Kareem LaTouche from "Kareem's Quest" and Jamieson Daley. Only that Jamieson 's videos are more on the artistic and cinematic spectrum, but highlights the Jamaican experience non the less. I was telling her about that before. She is going to blow up rapidly. You just watch.
jamdawgutube I definitely have the same thoughts! This is awesome content!
COMPLETELY agree with your marketing remark, I hope this channel explodes. Have already sent links to friends in US/UK.
100% agree guys, i think she is fantastic, we love you dear keep up the good work❤❤❤❤❤❤
Honestly this young woman should be a member of the tourist board, she could contribute so much to their committee.
Am sure she has some connections to the tourist board...
Thank you for selling Jamaica in an honest way.
Not gonna lie. It’s like watching a well produced documentary. Uman bad yuh see!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
You are a good presenter of all aspects of Jamaica and you are doing a great job of exposing Jamaica to the world in a positive way.
I think that one of the greatest things about Jamaica is that you can swim in any river and dive in the sea and dont have to worry about snakes and things that can kill u. Ypu can hike in the mountains and ther are no wild animals to attack you. Jamaica is a blessed Island. Thanks for your expose. Professionally done.
we have Crocodile in the south of Jamaica at Black River and Salt River
@@Grogu-485 . That IS the truth. Most tourist don't get to see that beauty. The also miss out on places like Mandeville 😁
Wrong....sharks are all around the island. You cant swim any and everywhere. Crocs are also present where u least expect them.
@@NATURALMYSTICMK Crocs are ninjas of the water. I can understand why Egyptians worshipped them.
@@Grogu-485 But nobody swims in black river where crocodiles are. I saw a huge crocodile in milk river once
There is so many channel putting down Jamaica 🇯🇲 only speaking about the bad things that’s happening in Jamaica 🇯🇲 keep the good content coming 👍💕
Exactly
KINGSTON STANDREW that’s why I unsubscribe to is channel a long time ago 🇯🇲👍
I definitely learnt something new i.e liquid sunshine. I've never heard it before and I am Jamaican haha.
Ah, I see ))) I hope you also enjoy "top 100 things to do in Jamaica" video :) Thank you for the support of the channel!
If you work in any hotel on the north coast, you hear it all the time.
the term is actually wata sun.. wata sun is when it's cloudy /foggy and cool but it's not 2 dark or cold
@@psykloneja Yeah, I'm black American and I've heard that expression many times. It's pretty cute - just like Jamaicans call speed bumps "sleeping policeman."
I get to understand that there are a lot of phrases that are common to certain sections of Jamaica but not common to the larger Jamaica population. Just like how you have people in different parishes speaking with different accents and slangs.
Congratulations you have an excellent youtube channel. I´m from Venezuela and I´m going to moving to live in Jamaica. I think that your information is the best that I have seen during the last months.
Thank you! I really hope you find this channel useful since I'd be also sharing info about living here. Are you going to run your business in Jamaica?
@@JAMAICAWITHIRIE No, I´m a medical doctor. I´ll work in a private hospital there but your videos are very useful to know about Jamaica.
@@rauljgarcias Yes, medical doctors are always welcome, and especially now! Awesome!
The answer may be long but the first and more important reason to explain our economic disaster is economic and political SOCIALISM planes apply for the government in the last 20 years.
@@rauljgarcias Venezuela will recover and become stronger than ever. Welcome to Jamaica sir
You are working on me slowly but surely
So greatful that u chose to live here, I am 35 years old n out never cross my mind to go to another country... I kno am in paradise n am not going nowhere
Your videos are probably the most informative videos of Jamaica that I’ve seen. I’ve learned more from you than I have in my years being born and raised here! Great video
been to ja more times than i can count, but learned alot from watching this. thx
Awesome! Glad you've found it useful! More coming up. Thank you for your support!
Great you really know what you are talking about
I've been to Jamaica in June, July, November, December - pretty much every month of the year. Never had bad weather - sure it rained (more like showered) but it was over in about 20 minutes and that just made it more lush and beautiful. Hopefully, I'll be back in back in November for my 65th birthday.
Oh my god, I'm so happy to read your comment, because I'm going to jamaica this June, and I was so scared that there is a lot of rain in June.
@@levochance01 Hi Levent, you might want to check the weather before you depart. But like I said, I've been to Jamaica all times of the year and it usually showers for about 20 minutes to half an hour and then it's just sunny and beautiful again. I've sat in the ocean with the rain pouring down on me and just enjoyed Mother Nature's liquid sunshine. The water is so warm that you don't feel unsafe or anything. Jamaica is beautiful, the people are warm and welcoming. Make sure you drink a few Red Stripes, have some jerk chicken for dinner and ackee and salt fish for breakfast. Buy only real Jamaican gifts (buy your rum at the airport - otherwise you will have to check it into your luggage) and just enjoy the Caribbean sunshine. Like they say in Kingston, "take care and walk good."
@@soulshadoww55 thanks a lot soulshadoww!!! 🥰
Hello, and thank you for your comments! I’m deciding if September or October would be a great time to go.
@@blessedgjh8027did u go in September please tell me how the rain was since that's hurricane season
Irina, you have such a pure aura and an equally beautiful personality. Binging on your video, Blessings!
Thank you so much! 🤗
Lots of the Diaspora, love to go home at Christmas time for the weather, rum cake and Sorel ! Ha ha 👏🇯🇲🇯🇲🇨🇦🇨🇦
Nice video with good advices! Our decision to visit this country at the end of January was based on some ridiculous reasons namely my boyfriends birthday, my birthday and of course .... the Bob Marleys birthday. We should really think it over one more time :-D
Hello Irene I'm a tour operator in Jamaica and I do enjoy your vlogs keep up the good work yehmon☺️
Big up irene nuf love yuh ha prmote da islands blessed
Your videos are very informative and engaging.🙌🏾🙌🏾💕💕💕💕💕💕
Thank you! :)
Wow I have pictures at the same spot at Doctor's cave beach in July 2019. I stayed at the Deja Resort just across the street. I had an amazing time!
"Deja" is one of my sister's name lol
As a Jamaican living abroad. You have seen more of my island than I have 😳. I left JA at 15 yrs old. You are truly enjoying the island the way it’s intended (for yourself & not how the media portrays it). Short term goal of mine is to engage more with the island and go off the beaten path and explore the beauty the island 🌴 has as well as its history. AMAZING 😉 videos, glad I stumbled onto your page. You have a bonifi fan girl.
Where do you live now?
That’s what I say too, I have a great time no matter what time of the year I’m there. I want to experience the climate year round. I have never visited in Christmas though because the tickets are always sooo expensive. 😊
Jamaica appreciate you you're doing wonderful things in Jamaica and we love and well you in all aspects.

JAMAICA WITH IRIE 🇯🇲

You do great blogs Irina. Keep it up and welcome to Jamaica again.
Thank you so much 🤗
Lol I learn so much from your videos, I feel like a tourist
2020 is the most rain I’ve seen during the rainy season 😅
I know, right!? )))))) But still, we have at least half day sunny, then about. 1hour rain, and then sun again. Montego Bay. Where are you?:)
That's what make jamaica beautiful don't you see it in the video. Whenever it rains the place turns green it's like jamaica is doing a transformation or replenish it self. And it's all natural not man made. Well I'm here and when ever it rains i feel gooood
@@JAMAICAWITHIRIE montego bay. And where i work i can predict that the rain is coming
Kimberly Stewart, for me, it's a long time seeing it this much now but where I live it rains.
Yes Indeed, i've been traveling to Jamaica back and forth now for 5 years and one of my friends who's lived there his entire life have told me Heavy and more frequent Rains in the winter time are believed to be attributed with Climate change.
@jamaica with irie as a proud Jamaican i must thank u from d depths of my heart for calling Jamaica so Great to the would try ur honesty had spoken alot of volume in ur vídeos and i do apareciste i wish more of my country ppl would apareciste n share ur vídeos much love from yaaaaaad.🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
Hi Irena thanks for letting me know the best time to visit Jamaica I didn't know.
You are the best no one else ever and I mean it ever do a good presentation like you you do it best
Thank you for your help in helping me decide on a holiday to Jamaica, been in october before and hardly saw any rain but wanted to visit in may but was worried about the rain
Planning my wedding in Jamaica in 2023, I was worried about the weather, but I’m so excited. Thank you so much for the information, very helpful!
I am so happy I found your video it was so informative. We have booked for September/24 for 11 days. I was worried about the rainy season. I feel better. Thank you
What were y'all doing alone in the rain???!! 😆 I can tell you not only love the weather but nature as well. Have to mention that in 2004, Hurricane Ivan (one of Jamaica's worst) also devastated homes (although not as much as Gilbert) and you'd probably remember when Matthew nearly hit us in 2016, we got a lot of rainfall! Amazing video Irie!!! Keep posting whenever you can!!
This is good education for those who are not familiar with any knowledge of sweet JAMAICA 🇯🇲🇯🇲👍🏿
Good info Irina
Thank you! :)
Iriena stay irie love your spirit or in ja we say vibes
Thanx for informations 👍
Thanks for giving Portland props! The fact that it has not been developed by the large European chains only adds to its beauty. Perhaps the distance from Mobay has also helped protect it?
On the south where I live less rain fall
Ir you are one of the greatest person every come to jamaica love you god bless
Thank you! I am coming to Jamacia for the first time in October. A friend invited me to stay at her aunts home for her mothers 90 th birthday. I am now excited! Thank you for putting my fears to rest! 😊
You know Jamaica more than a Jamaican do! Love it
thank you sweet beautiful lady for sharing this video with us bless up
Thank you! 🇯🇲
Needed this cause I’m going in a week and it’s saying rain EVERYDAY but 85 and periodically isn’t bad so thank you
We will be going back from the UK for the fifth time at the end of this month to bloody bay Negril I love snorkel in the warm waters We have been different times of the year the we have noticed not much difference in the weather except it is a bit hot in June on some days you may get a thunder storm in the afternoon but it soon drys up the first time we went was 2006 in October and it was one of wettest months ever recorded that year but coming from the UK the was lots of hot weather In between we started going to Cuba after that but we got a dog and we could not go anywhere for 10y we always said we would go back and the first time back was 2018 after I retired then are holiday was cancelled 2019 because of covid but we are trying to make up for it now and going back twice a year
Thank you. I have my honeymoon set for September and was worried about the "rainy" / hurricane season. But not anymore 🥰
What were your dates, and how was the weather when you went?
My in-laws were there on their honeymoon during Hurricane Gilbert! Talk about a disaster. And yet, here we are about to head to Negril on our honeymoon next week. Wish us luck and sunshine!
You debunked the myth, and gave good tips.
Another Great and informative video, Amazing attention to detail in every way, I'm totally hooked and will share this content with friends and family, Jamaica 🇯🇲 is loving you for it ❤❤❤
Ah, so kind of you! Glad you like the content!
Irene I just wanna know who does your editing because it’s on another level 🔥🔥🔥
You should be minister of tourism. I like the fact that you are unbiased in your opinions. You clearly have seen the potential of this place and it's people.
I was doubting of going in september but was always scared of hurricanes and rain…thanks I think I’m going to book and just go in September! 👌🏼👍🏼😆
How was it ?
It pisses me off a little that this Lady comes to Jamaica knows so much more that people who born yah. Love the info. Keep up the good work❤
This women’s Jamaican - must be. So much love for the island.
