I built a 12S fpv miniquad that runs at 50 volts and sounds INSANE

  • So I was out running the other day and i had this crazy idea - what if I could take some components that I had lying around and make a drone that could run off of 12s, instead of just the measly 6s that they currently run on. I wasn't sure whether or not it would work, and I knew there would definitely be challenges to making it not blow up on 12 cell voltage (that's 50v). It turned out absolutely insane and I'm stoked to share it with you!
    Shout out to ‪@quadmovr‬ who somehow managed to drop a video on the same freaking day! (i filmed this yesterday) • 12s on 5inch | a quick...

      Try out some 6.5mm or 8mm Bullet connectors instead of xt60, I'm genuinely curious how many more amps you can pull or even if it will improve in efficiency.

    @NURK FPV just use a regular buck converter. You can adjust them to any required voltage. I use them to drop the 24 volt 3D printer power supply voltage down to run 3-5 volt components. You just use a milti meter and adjust a potentiometer screw for required voltage. They are super cheap on Amazon. I usually get a 6pk. they always come in handy somewhere. AWESOME idea BTW lol...MORE POWER!

    Instead of regulating down from 12S, why not tap the center wire of the 12S series plugs and run all the flight control of the bottom 6S (between ground and center)? That way you can use all regular 6S wiring except for the ESCs, which maybe you can just wire straight to the battery terminal or a separate PDB.

    Nice build, but to be honest for 12S its really slow. Try with higher kv motors and better batteries. What is the Amp draw on this monster at full throttle? The main problem here is that quad is to heavy and bad aerodynamic. Even 6s quad can easily outrun it. I would love to see more 5" 6" 12s videos. Keep the great work bro.

  • @jorgeneo560
    @jorgeneo560 3 роки тому

    doing a quick math a 5 inch prop at 15000 rpm is almost 0.8 mach at the props tips, that is the most efficient point, beyond that you need exponential power to gain more speed, becouse drag increases exponentially too, and not taking in account that for going faster the kwad fuselage has to tilt increasing the frontal area and creating more drag, and in certain point prop will explode, theres no so much real gain in speed, thats why almost no propeller aircraft could breake sound barrier too,the only bad ass thing with that setup is acceleration

I have 4 28-26s 1100kv engines that I want to build a little 6s rig out of. I’ve never built one though. I have a HSKRC QAV250 FRAME on order. should I run a 4 in 1 esc or separate escs? Also need GPS because I have bad luck with flyaways. Any information for a novice who is about to tear up something would be helpful.
