    Great vid Captain! Nice to see a video that doesn't feature a bunch of pro staffers all decked out in the latest most expensive Simms gear. Real people fishing real places and funny to boot....minty mcminterson! Lmao! Can't wait to watch the rest of the series!

    I’d cut off a three fingers on my left hand to go fishing with you guys. (Middle, ring and pinky on my left hand, so I can still strip fly line) it looks absolutely amazing. I love trout fishing, the outdoors and now this channel. I was looking for a good fly fishing channel. And boy did I find one. Thanks for the great footage Captain Quinn, keep making it. More angles, more trout, more fly fishing.

    What gram weight or Spey rods are you using? This looks like the size of river I'd fish in Scotland. Always get the impression that North Americans fish a good bit lighter than is traditional over here. I think that's a good thing.

    Question about the way Roberto is playing those fish, I've always heard rod tip up when hooked up to a fish, why is his so far down? Is he trying to steer the fish into the shore? thanks

    what type of rod and reel do you suggest?

    • @TheCaptainQuinn
      @TheCaptainQuinn  5 років тому

      depends on the fish and the river - 8 weight for bigger water and bigger fish, you can generally go to lighter rods in smaller water with smaller fish but you might want to keep a heavier rod when fishing big fish in small water so you can handle the fish...

      does it have to be a spey rod? Is there any advantages to them or would a regular 8-9Wt fly rod work?@@TheCaptainQuinn

    • @blacktailbowhunter0135
      @blacktailbowhunter0135 5 років тому

      Caleb deGroot But yes, your #8/9 single hand will work fine for areas with room behind you for casting. (Its how they did it before spey rods were invented) ;)
