your the reason I started spey casting, haven't got one yet, but really looking forward to it. its kind of amazing how basic some fly patterns are and will still catch fish. thanks a lot.
Another awesome video! I really liked the fly tying demonstration, you should really do more. I've seen some of those beauties you tie. Or maybe a look inside some of your fly boxes, I think a lot of people are very curious. Again great video and can't wait for the next!
Hey Capt. Interested to learn more about your Rod, I thought you mentioned you built it and it was not that expensive. I love the color of the blank, and build my own rods as well, anyway you could let me know where you go the blank. Thanks,
Great tips there! I never bothered to bleed them out because generally when I fish i just gut them and they go straight to the grill, but that's good thinkin!
Hey captain I just moved to northwestern Washington state and I love salmon and I'm not quite sure how to fish for it with out fly fishing they aren't running right now and I've been watching your videos and you look like an amazing fisherman while I'm kind of amateur. I live next to the ocean and ever so often my dads friend catches a few salmon. I just wanted to ask if you have a way to fish for ocean King salmon with out fly fishing. Keep up the great work love your vids
Going down stairs to tie some pink yarn worms - "Quinn pink special" - will try them next March for baby tarpon in Mexico and let you know how they work.
Parodoxdesigns ,!having taken thousands of salmon in my day I would strongly recommend you bleed your fish right behind gill on the coller you can see a little dark spot poke in there not to far as to hit meat but that's where the heart lays and best way to get all blood out makes a huge difference also look into a salmon spoon as you can get rest of blood out by massaging it down when you clean fish
so im 14 and i dont know how to fly fish and i know that people fish for them with a rod and reel but im curious to know what rigs or lures i should use to catch them
I’m beside myself, I couldn’t find a child’s chair that looks like a cat, awesome man!!

all fish taste less fishy when you bleed them out, pulling the gill plates out with your fingers works well
Nice drum on the wall, I have family from that tribe.

Yo! Dont you get alot of snagged fish? (fault hooked) with that kind of setup in a dense run.
Going down stairs to tie some pink yarn worms - "Quinn pink special" - will try them next March for baby tarpon in Mexico and let you know how they work.
do you have a link for that rod setup?
We call it flossing or bottom bouncing with a different setup down here in the Fraser Valley...
flossing with a fly rod
You've never drift fished yarn and had a fish bite? You need to fish more.
What is the brand of rod and reel Capt?

another great video captain, question, why do they call you captain, were you in the military or something?
one more thing , i dont do this personally, but why cant you keep steelhead?
Because it is against the local regulations to keep wild Steelhead in rivers.
So Captain, did you go to Elphi? or Chat?
more videos soon?
lo at 252 he sez its a steelhead lol lol bet all the hipsters spilled their micro brew then lol lol lol great vid and informative
Awesome video! I wonder why you chose to live out that way? LOL kidding.. you make me want to change my life
Even up at the skeena always guys in the background.
Where are you fishing? The bridge by Walmart?
my daughter sais Rob Brice and captain underpants lol
If you hold them in the water they will bleed even more.
I'm having a hard time finding a childs chair that looks exactly like a cat and my salmon game is really suffering
we're going to have really poor sockeye numbers where I am from.
Red dead redemption 2
Oh and maybe a change in music to somethings less weird
It's normal music you fuckin zoomer.
@@bg8224 what's the name of the song?
Flossing is basically snagging
Man you have to hit the fish first on the head before your cut the gills!!!!
Shut up. He does how he likes.
Next time you watch this video realize you never killed the sockeye properly before you bled them out. How would you like it if they did that to you
that’s not even a sockeye...
Wes Cotttrill really what do you think it is
That's not sockeye.
that's a miserable way for a fish to die
he kills them by hitting them in the head.
The way to successfully snag a fish in the mouth ladies and gentlemen. Called flossing. Requires minimal skill, and no ethics!
