SLIPKNOT Vermillion Part 2 Composer Reaction and Dissection The Decomposer Lounge
Aloha :) Sorry for the energy drag but today was a bit, well, you know, sigh...... But without a doubt, by the time I got done with this track, yea, floating. Have a great weekend - AWWWRIGHT!!
Thank you Geebz! I'm so glad you stuck it out for part 2. And I'm glad you enjoyed it as much as we all do 🙂
Thanks for doing this man. Such an awesome pair of tracks! Have a great weekend.
Have a great weekend !!!
No worries, don’t trip. Always enjoy your reactions and knowledge. Glad you liked it
You're the man, Geebz! After watching you do part 1, I desperately wanted you to experience part 2. One of the best Slipknot songs, and heavier than some of their heaviest bangers! How about that Mellotron section! Ugh! So good!
Everyone always recommends Snuff for the softer Slipknot, and it is a great song. But for me, this song is the best Slipknot ever did in this vein. Just a sublime combination of arrangement, lyrics, vocals and performance. It's just a totally different vibe from what they normally do. And Corey just outdoes himself here. Great reaction, Geebz. Thank you, brother. Mahalo! 🤙
Snuff is just so raw dude. I think there's a few lines in that record, that just so many people feel.
Though I'm old enough to remember, pre snuff, vermillion 2 was always the go to for softknot
it's my fave too
Circle is another good one too
Big fan of Zzyzx Rd from Stone Sour for the same reasons
@@Leftylobber Zzyzx Rd is awesome. One of my favorites from Come Whatever May. CMFT is a beast.🤘
This song was my soundtrack to my divorce. I can't listen to it without crying even though it's been like 15 years. Thanks, Geebz.
You're not the only one.....
Same
15 years?..
As a die hard Slipknot fan, looking back at when this album came out, 1st glance I was so disappointed, and now being the man I became to be, I completely understand it!
it was my very first slipknot album so i immediately loved it and wanted to get the two prior albums instantly. weird to get to know a band achronologically. had that with quite a few bands at that time like metallica and korn
I love this album. Especially since Corey's point with his vocals was that he could write without cussing. Big f you for what he was hearing about all the swearing. And it's an amazing album.
You know this song is about murder right?
Same. Iowa was and still is one of my favorite albums ever, and when Vol.3 came out i was like "here we go! One more great band sold -out to Pop", but nowadays i do have a very different look at it and Vol.3 became one of my favorite albums they have. They were in a place where they just needed to do something different (kinda like Led Zeppelin did with Led Zeppelin 3) and i'm glad they did it... it really grew on me (like Led Zeppelin 3 did).
@@jerrytipps9278 ok?
Opeth’s album Damnation is literally all songs with this kind of feel. Really good to listen to in rainy days
Agree
Part 1 was the frustration of being with a person who's bad for you, part 2 is about being depressed that you have no idea what to do but stay with them. A lot of singers who sing with rage also tend to have just as much sadness. Linkin park has the little thing that give you away, korn has daddy, metallica has fade to black. Also i don't think there was a bass but a cello and a piano but im probably wrong.
Makes me smile seeing how elated it made you listening to this.
I will always say that this is the best soft song Slipknot has ever written. Just another reason I think that Vol. 3 is their best work ever. Every song is just perfect.
Hey brother, whatever’s going on, I hope things get better! I usually don’t comment on videos, but I been following your channel for quite some time now. I’m a big fan of your reactions and connect with the way you breakdown the music. I would definitely love to hear you breakdown more from Mudvayne - L.D. 50. I think you’d really enjoy it. I’d specifically love to hear you listen to “Prod”. It’s beautifully arranged and has many types of elements that you’d like! Take care, brother!
Thank you, Michael :)
I 2nd Prod. Such a carefully created and aggressive song. Always has been my favorite track on L.D. 50.
I love watching your facial expressions while you listen! If you are digging this vibe, I recommend you listen to Slipknot's "Circles" and "Snuff". Worth a listen, if not a reaction video!
Circles yes great song and nameless is one he should check out
Circles and Danger, Keep Away.
@@OTProd very good choice too
Still here Geebz! Good call doing this song while part 1 is still fresh in your ears. Slipknot has a lot of diversity in their songs. Not a stupid heavy. Although the heavy is my favorite
Slipknot is one of the most diverse bands out there IMO, from Vermilion pt 2 to (Sic) to Danger - Keep Away to Unsainted. One of the many things that makes them great.
205k subscribers in 1 year is fuckin mental Sir👏🏻
This song gives me chills everytime.
If you like this, you might like "circle" and "danger keep away". Both from Slipknot.
Some of the stuff that Corey Taylor does with Stone Sour, another project of his, is lighter than Slipknot and you might enjoy it. Thank you for all of your reactions!
I was hoping you'd be able to check this part II out. It's so worth hearing the whole piece, both movements.
this song hits me hard every time. if you want another soft slipknot song, i'd highly recommend Snuff. a real heart breaker
Chills even after all these years. Every damn time. This was the album that showed me that slipknot had another side. This and Danger - Keep Away. Chills.
This is too me, the most emotional song by Slipknot. I love that they did 2 versions of this song and each one stands alone.
So glad you did part 2, love this song
Thank you so much for doing this!!!
Thank you for doing pt2!
I want to thank you for doing this. I can't count the number of times in high school when I was depressed that I would listen to this song on repeat, trying and failing to conjure up a reason to live. The loneliness crushed me and I connected a lot with the lyrics, because in my head I thought that if I had someone to love, to live for, that I could drag myself out of that pit. Eventually I did and I'm happily engaged, and reflecting on this song and this part of my past impresses upon me how quickly things can change, how fast your paradigm can shift when you finally look past yourself. Again, thank you.
Your connection to music, your understanding of music and bands exploring different thresholds of their skillset, and your sheer joy listening to it inspires me as a musician (drums) and music lover myself, as well as just a human being. We can all learn something from watching you listen to and talk about music. Keep going. Much appreciated, liked and subscribed.
My wish came true! I'm so glad you enjoyed this song.
Stone Sour, his other band has another stand out, no-one ever talks about song in Zzyzx Rd. One of my top 3 by them.
I love your channel man, so glad I discovered it. Thanks for being a real one
Love your videos they make me think of the song as another thing
I too had a long day. This was a great track to see you react to. Love it.
Soooooooooooo glad you did this. Glad it helped your day. Peace Love and Harmony
Woohoo double uploads! You’re spoiling us
I love hearing your input and breakdowns of a lot of my favorite bands, keep up the great work and congrats on one year!
This broke and mended my heart that you did this song. Thank you.
have an awesome weekend, my brother ...great track
The videos for both parts are awsome
so glad this came so soon. made for a great friday night reaction!
Thanks for what you do! Good luck with the surgery!
After seeing your reaction to Pt. 1, I feel at peace seeing you do Pt. 2
Hahaha just watched part 1 perfect timing all right!
This was a chill but oh so superb reaction, thank you for doing this
One of Slipknot's essential songs in my opinion. This song as opposed to their vast catalogue shows the greatest reach of their musical contrast.
Like you said in so many words, buried in their ethos is this vulnerability, a part of their archetype that makes the brutality if their music feel human and relatable... Inside of the rage at it's core is a damage that we all share to some degree.
Always here mate.
Great album and great track selection, doing 1 and 2 back to back. Keep up the great content and hope for a speedy recovery for you man!
Happy one year Geebz 🎊
We enjoyed your reaction to this musical number. We are glad you enjoy it as much as we do.
Was hoping this would be coming, Slipknot brings back fond memories from high school
Awesome content! One of my favorite new channels I've discovered! Rock is my favorite genre of music, so hearing you break it down is really interesting to me.
Was only a matter of time !!! Awwwright!!! I'm still here!
🤟😎
It been fun going through this journey with you, Vermillion pt2 is such a beautiful song and to see your real time reaction just gave me chills because you get it. Thank you and good luck with your surgery!
Such a beautiful moment. Mahalo! Merci beaucoup Geebz.
Thank you for doing this one. Such a beautiful song. This is my favorite video you've made. Keep it up my chap🤘🤙
Wow I'd never heard this before. What a track! Gorgeous.
Love that you've gone for this one, VOL3 is such a great album. If you havent done Snuff yet its well worth it.
Early Saturday morning became more pleasant with this video. Thank you 🤗☕
I can tell that shoulder kills you brother. Thanks for sitting with the pain and still delivering good content man. I really appreciate it.
Keep up the great work. Much love from 🇨🇦 AWWRIGHT!!!!!
Dude you came back!!!! Awesome, awesome, awesome. Great choice bud.
I'm glad u checked this song out..one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard 👍
You make me remember why I love the things I love so much.
You're reaction to when the Bass washes over you, happens to me everytime. Love this song. So well put together.
I vibed with low energy vibes, happy to enjoy the video
One of my favorite songs of all time
Thanks Geebz
Great reaction to this beautiful song. I really enjoyed hearing your breakdown, and seeing how much you enjoyed it. 🖤🤘
Not many have your deep love of music. I see it! I share it. Thank You!
Love it 🤘🏼😈❤️
The video is really intense for this one. Bloodstone mix of this song hits hard. Cheers, happy Friday 🍻
Man, I don't know how anyone can really listen to that song without getting a little misty. Been a long time favorite of mine and it made me pretty happy to see how much you enjoyed it.
Best reaction channel ever. Hands down. No debate.
You're freaking awesome and it really shows how much effort and thought you put into these videos!
Cheers from Switzerland
Aloha! You say you needed it but I needed this reaction! I saw them live last weekend at Knotfest and they played Vermillion pt.1 live. This song has been stuck in my mind and I'm glad to see you react to this! :D
I still think it’s cool that the song sounds like Slipknot while being so clean. After all these years, I still get chills
Wishing you we well asap! See you soon, buddy! 🥳🤘
One of my faves for sure from Slipknot's discography
Don't think that we've ever seen you enjoy a Slipknot track on this level. Great breakdown man.
My dude. Happy Friday yall
It's so cool watching your reactions to songs and how honestly you get into it. :) My music taste is pretty odd, I love slipknot and a lotttt of wayyyy heavier bands too, quite a few of them you've reacted to already, but I also love more chill, verging on psychedelic sounding rock, one of my favorite bands in the world is built to spill, I would love to see you pick through their song velvet waltz. Probably one of my favorite songs to come out of the 90's indie rock world. Period. Hope you get the chance to when you can :) thank you for putting your time into doing these
This song is beautiful
I really wish slipknot did more of this. Stone sour is not the same vibes ~ but I love the emotions in this song!
I love enjoying hearing music as a guitarist but hearing your thoughts beyond the basics of guitar + music is great to hear about
Dont have an insightful comment, but I love you dude! I've been with ya since close to the beginning, and you really relieve stress for me. Keep doing what you're doing man. We love you
Slipknot has been a part of my life since I was given their free Hot Topic demo before the first album dropped. Powerful, great music cuts through the noise of life and leaves a mark on you and Slipknot has always had that ability for me. If im angry, theres a song for that, if im sad theres a song for that, if I feel like conquering the world theres a song for that, and if I just dgaf that day theres a song for that. Glad you have been able to enjoy them!
Good luck on your first step towards becoming the 6 million dollar man with your shoulder repair
I am sorry for, cause you feel bad ! I hope you are well soon !
This Video very good ! Greatings from germany ❤
I've written music my entire life and I've always loved arranging little tricks on the background. This album has always been my favorite Slipknot album by far, but for some reason only just now as I was watching you listen to the song I really heard the beautiful gliding background vocals behind the phrase "when she makes me sad". I mean of course I've always heard it but this was the first time I really _listened_ to them. Wow.
Watching your journey through the second half was a treat. One for when you come back; Bother - Stone Sour. I think you will enjoy.
On a melancholy Friday night a song like this harkens back to the somber past … One of my favorite songs from my karaoke days is “Through Glass” by Stone Sour (another Cory Taylor project) another emotionally charged lyrical song in this vein … truly a master of what I call “modern metal power ballads”
So glad you enjoyed this song. Slipknot showcase such a broad range of emotions in their music. If you liked this i think you should definately check out Circle from the same album. Different themes but similar composition.
This is worth it. Your process is legit. Surf the wave under you, there's always another forever.
...thanks for this vicarious journey...we're here for it...
...knowing this is your first taste of this side of theirs...shame that some dismiss it on surface...
I made an mp3 of pt 1 and pt 2 as one track, and that's all I listen to now.. . 👏 👏 👏
Hey Geebz, I'm a long time follower of the channel- I really enjoy getting to hear you discover and dissect music that I love, its like sharing it with a new friend and getting to hear their reaction. I'm an Aries as well (April 19) and a long time metal head. Really hope that you get better soon after your surgery and that you hit up some more Trivium on your channel- would also love to hear you review some Killswitch Engage, Code Orange, and Metallica. Keep doing what you do!
I love the strings toward the end of the song. I don't know if it's just a technique, but it sounds like the track is backmasked. So rad.
Every one of the heaviest metal bands have at least one ballad type arrangement that will crush your heart and soul. And they almost always end up being a fan favorite.
This and danger keep away always made me get down to earth when i had depression.
Im playing catch up.. About 4 days behind & I saw PART 2.. Wow.. Thanks .
One of those soundtracks that helped me thru life.. Any who.. A little FYI on this album.. Some one told Corey he couldn't sing an write a song without swearing.. So that was the intent on this album..
This song always makes me cry. My unicorn girl lives in Vermillion, Iowa. Tracy.
Circles is an amazing one
This is my favorite Slipknot track for sure
You gotta react to The Chapeltown Rag, Geebz. Great channel and video.
their third album has some incredible more quiet songs.
circle and danger - keep away are also worth checking out
Slow Slipknot is my favorite Slipknot for sure. They write some of the most beautiful and surprising stuff.
