My grandpa is 82 and he's a Slipknot fan. He was in his fifties when he first heard Metallica, and it struck a chord with him, and he's been a fan of metal and rock ever since. We're born on the same day, so for my 21st birthday and his 75th, we went to the Download Festival together.

That question about chester got my back up, Corey had the best answer To that question, Chester wasn't a coward, he just grew tired of fighting his personal demons, and Corey is a legend for defending Chester that way
Corey has bipolar disorder and has attempted suicide multiple times, so he knows that pain and knows that anyone blaming the death on anything other than an illness just doesn't know what they're talking about.
Also, this is not the first time he had Chester's back- about a month before what happened, a quote Chester gave in an interview was taken out of context and was made to look like Chester has no respect for his fans, which got a lot of people to be mad at him- and Corey almost immediately defended Chester on Twitter. They had a little back and forth about it, you can view it on Chester's page!
If any linkin park “fans” say that Chester was cowardly they are not true fans

I'd say it's more about personal beliefs, but I get what you're saying. If you read the lyrics and understand them, there's no way you can frown upon suicide.

I say that with great pride. Actually he's from my hometown Des Moines Iowa. Where he grew up was like 2 miles from my house. I glow with pride . Iowa is very proud of him

There's no discussion, king is throwing questions written by someone else and doesn't even listen or care for the answers, often cutting Corey and jumping from a subject to another without any connection
mouloudo yep, i noticed that too.
That's how Larry King interviews. He asks questions and lets the interviewee speak. Most people are not used to it these days as every interviewer and journalist puts their biases and opinions into the interview, but LK just asks questions. Journalists used to focus more on those they were interviewing or the story they were working on, not their own opinions like everyone cares about now.

Corey is the best and he is soooo damn funny.
I met him at a meet and greet and his care for each and every person there was touching. Although I was too nervous to say anything or even look at him but he spoke to my husband and was so lovely. I think he’s one idol you don’t have to be scared to meet!
He's change his views over time with age and success and family and well life basically lol. But yes he's awesome in person I met him when he was touring w Stone Sour last year. Great Person and could easily chat with him for hours

I first got into Slipknot as a middle school kid almost 18 years ago... what a relief to hear Corey speak like the intelligent and sophisticated person he is.

I'm 31 and love metal music but only in last few weeks got into slipknot. The band fascinates me and corey is a great frontman and very likeable as a person. Also very intelligent and collected
I also enjoy heavy music, but never dared listening to slipknot until almost a week ago. I'm really liking their music and Corey's vocals.
You should read his seven deadly sins book, he talks about his life and how each if the sins fit into it

He is sad, I was devastated when he passed, I can't imagine how somebody that close to him felt
well hes lost 2 friends due to suicide now. So i can imagine this keeps hitting him like a brick wall.
everybody's heart was broken millions of Hearts were broken my heart still broken. Can't imagine how it felt to someone that really knew him personally Chester just made us feel like we knew him personally he was just that kind of guy. I pray that he's in heaven looking down on us & rocking out with best up there. Mostly I hope Chester found peace and he can smile and mean it. We love each love and we miss you so much. And thank you Cory for always speaking so respectful of him and loving him
Depression is a mother fkr. I was diagnosed bipolar 2 years ago. I believe I had it all my life. It was just hiding under me busying myself with raising kids. Now they're grown up, depression attacked me with vengeance. I wanted to die. Even my wife doesn't get it which is fine bc I'm lucky bc I'm taking treatment for it seriously and it's working. I'm still here. You'll never hear me call a suicide victim a coward. I get it in spite of me being a survivor.
Corey is such a genuine, down to earth guy that does crazy shit in bands and I love him he’s amazing

I really wish Corey would do a lecture on his thoughts and feelings, like in colleges. He's very bright and forward thinking and I enjoy that.

Sadly some people dont understand its a real condition and not just in your head, its real struggle and its hard to get help because Most people dont care about anything but themselves
I also don't understand where he got the idea that a lot of fans said Chester was a coward. Of course, some people say that, but I talk with LP fans all the time and can probably count on one hand the number of times I've seen people say that (which I think is mainly due to the amazing work his widow and bandmates have been doing educating people about depression).
I think Larry King was just projecting his own twisted views, and tried to mask it by saying fans said that.
@@Ariel_thenotsolittlemermaid Unfortunately, for people that have been affected by others suicide, it can be seen as cowardly. Granted, unless you have been in a situation where you feel like there is no escape, you don't know what it is like, but there is always someone there for you, be it family, children etc. Suicide takes all of them out of the equation, and doesn't take into consideration the fact that your pain and suffering is now going to be felt by even more people. Selfish is the more appropriate word than cowardly, but I can see where he is coming from.

Two people in tune with the audience, and each other. Larry King asks the questions we'd like the answers to. Corey Taylor, through his personality, writing, and his music, allows us to enter into his thoughts, to better understand his, and our world. Brilliant interview!
Larry had the empathy of a stone. The way he asked Corey about Chester, and even after Corey had just said he was a close friend, geeeeeez.

@@kevinwilson455 completely right, I was lucky enough to see Lincoln Park in there prime, Chester and Mike were incredible live, same sounds as your favorite cd. I ended up getting arrested and thrown in jail, right before a Metallica arena show, its still one of the biggest regrets of my life.

His music has had such an incredible impact on my life. Just saw Stone Sour in Bristow VA. Keep Rocking Corey! Totally agree about conversation. As a history teacher myself, there is very little problem solving going on in schools today when Google/social media has all the answers. Face to face is the only way to truly understand and make changes to what is happening in the world today.

I like Larry as an interviewer, he always seems to bring about the best out of people.
Larry King is actually a pretty terrible interviewer. He just reads the questions, hears the response and then asks the next without reacting or diving deeper. It’s quite jarring and doesn’t feel like fluent conversation.
Thought that the whole way through, Corey's really polite and socially aware luckily. I'd imagine it could be really awkward and uncomfortable to watch with other people.

Coming from the UK I don’t know much about Larry King, but it feels like he doesn’t really care about the questions he’s asking. They are just written down by someone else
The first several hundred years of his career he was pretty engaged (see his riveting interview with King Charles II in The London Gazette 24 November, 1670) but this last century or two he's just gotten lazy.

Jonathan Gray it’s a different interview style, less formal. They’re limited to their 30 minute slot, which is why Larry is abrupt and moves on quickly. He’s also an interviewer that knows people wanna hear the interviewee talk, and the lack of engagement is actually him letting the guest talk (most interviewers have a nasty habit of interrupting and talking over nowadays)

I'm late to the party but I'm still gonna respond:
Many of the things people see as political really aren't political. A political question would be "How much money should we invest in fixing streets?" not "Should group X get full human rights?". I don't like the idea of approaching the issue of marginalised people not having full rights from a moderate/balanced perspective, because in most cases that would just result in holding up the status quo.
So yes, middle ground is a good solution for political problems, but not for human right problems

Those Chester questions were really uncomfortable, didnt need to be asked.

This was really wholesome to watch for the first time, R.i.p. Larry. Also Corey is such a genuine human being. From defending Chester to his political stances and morals. What really got me were the giggles from the staff in the background @ 19:55 concerning the nude stunt.
