    Not to be weird but I just love your bowls and plates.

    Love it when you do plant based dishes. However, the meat ones are super tasty according to friends and family and I do need to cook for them every now and again 🧑🏽‍🍳

    Wow, so close to Italian bean dishes. We use Borlotti beans a lot. We would add celery at the beginning for Soffritto (onions, carrot, celery). We wouldn't use cinnamon. I always add Calabrian Chili to my bean dishes. I'm going to try adding lemon, it sounds delicious.
    I have Cannellini beans soaking tonight for a bean soup tomorrow.
    Love Tùrkiye and it's foods. 🙏🏼❤🕊

    As a Greek I am astounded about how similar our cuisines are. This is one of our favorite mezés which we make with giant beans (jíjandes) with cinnamon and celery but without lemon and chili. Your channel is dope, hungry man!

      I am astounded that as a Greek you’re astounded at the similarities. Did you forget the 500 years of ottoman occupation?

      Similar? Almost identical. 😅Also "Barbunya" and "Pilaki" are Greek words.

      @@guneygacka774 Yes brother. BTW 'barboúni' in Greek is a fish - cod. And 'plakí' is a dish cooked in tomato sauce ;-)

    I like how you explained why you might want to skim off the foam of the simmering beans.

    I’d to pause and rewind when he added honey and then cinnamon. Was not expecting those ingredients. 😮Love your videos.

    Thanks for your recipe 'barbunya pilaki'! It looks super delicious.
    As I know, for Istanbul-style' barbunya pilaki', a green bell pepper may be added without cutting while cooking, and then it needs to be removed while serving.

    Any chance you'll make Iskender soon? I've been looking for authentic recipes everywhere and they're all so vastly different from one another.

    • @HungryManKitchen
      @HungryManKitchen  2 роки тому +2

      Yes, but it would be a simplified version as it requires a vertical rotisserie to make a real Iskender. I have an easy doner recipe, I am planning to build on that to make an easier version at home with it's unique sauce, pide and sizzling butter ;)

    I purchased this dish at a Turkish restaurant near me. The sauce that the beans and other ingredients were in was frothy. Is this normal?? It made me question as to whether it was spoiled or not.
