“Could be easy fix if you know what you’re doing”
“Cheap, if it’s not gone by *4 days away* I’ll fix it/mot it and put it up for more”
Yep car warmed up .... easily fixable ....... in other words, owner trying to get rid of vehicle without spending more than it's worth. I was honestly looking at this tool but it just seems frustratingly slow to use. Thanks for the honest review.
I have the top don Topscan. Great bit of kit at a cheap price. £50 a year subscription. I’m happy.
When he took the hat off he disappeared 😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@TheShinnion John Cena would be proud
Just a convenient pocket version of the low end wired scan tool really.
As with anything auto diagnostics related, you get what you pay for.
Like you said, it's really a get you home tool in an emergency if the EM light comes on.
I have the Topdon Topscan and I think it's quite a bit better than this one, while still being very inexpensive. Looks the same size/shape. Does live data, active tests, most of the part replacement and reset functions dealer level software does and not only covers all the DPF stuff, but also the SCR system (which really surprised me). I have a Peugeot and have Diagbox/Lexia, but only really need that for configuration changes and proper freeze frame views (freeze frame is inexplicably bad on the Topscan, no idea why given how good the live data is), and for some tests where you need the full report / feedback (another issue with the Topscan, where you can't really see the full details of the outcome if some tests).
All in all, it completely exceeded my expectations and as a result, I rarely use Diagbox at all. The portability is unbeatable. I've had it nearly a year, and they keep adding functionality and fixing bugs, so I will definitely be renewing the subscription when the time comes.
Glow plugs an easy fix 🧐 if they came out like spark plugs and not Snap
Torque pro and and ebay dingle for a fiver will read most codes. A launch 129 evo is a handy carry in your boot.
@sliderdriver1 that is a good tool but some people buy the amazon version and it's nowhere near as good as the one from www.launchtech.co.uk
Great work, Jimmy!
Thank you! Cheers!
What am struggling to understand is how a main dealer reanult can't fix a Renault traffick with a check injection system put on a new turbo exhaust sensor oil sensor and egr gasket it's not the obd readers it's just the people using them lol
Service techs vs mechanics
Strange how it had plenty of Fault codes, but none regards Glow Plugs, which is what he claims it needs lol.
Did you buy it? (The car I mean?)
I want you to try the TOPDON AD800BT. does this do dpf resets also?
Will you be able to try the Vident iSmart 810?
I'd be interested if there was a Launch version of this maybe....
@chrisnewell-7758 as far as I know, there are no plans for one from Launch yet
Does it work in tunnels?
i have their previous dongle, and there were multiple updates over the year, and from my point of view there is not much new this this newer dongle.
this topdown is very poor in comparison to liftime long free updated Xtool A30m cost same or less and works just fine....
The cheapest bi directional tool that does most of what anyone would want is around £260. Anything cheaper than that and its almost guaranteed it wont have the features that are needed.
Which one would that be please?
hi, im interested, can you specify ? thanks !
Icarsoft cr pro
is there a subscription to use all the functions with carplan tool? thanks
Yes it's £50 a year subscription to use the software.
I actually bought the £60 one and was able to reset the Engine Management light for DPF soot Accumulation. It didn't actually reset it until I drove the vehicle a few miles after doing the reset.
You can also reset soot percentage to 0% by telling it you have fitted a new DPF.
It's paid for itself but I hate subscription fees 😢😢
@@stephenjones9153 I agree subscription is ok if you use the tool all the time, i have a more expensive diagnostic but its has free updates no subscription, i have four vehicles to look after and hardly use it to be honest, i would hate to have to keep paying when not using it.
Not overly impressed with that one...
It would be interesting to hear what you think of the Xtool A30M dongle if you could get your hands on one.
I just bought one ,it’s quite good actually, free updates for life .The only issues I’m having with ,is that when I try to do dpf adaptations to zero ,I keep getting message communication failed .Car is Audi a5 2017 tdi .Xtool was quick to respond, but slow to solve the issues .
If its not the euro tab 3 at 6k , its not good enough.
Ive got one of these, its crap. Topdon sent it as part of their beta test thing. I used it once or twice and it now sits in a draw unlikely to be used ever again. I cant see the point if it when they already have the topscan which is a very good tool for the money, does everything this thing does plus more and is significantly faster without all the gimicky stuff on the app. Just my opinion 😂
My thoughts exactly 🤣
Someone not as knowledgeable as you could be confident from it battery okay and it’s not going to overheat either. DPF lifespan of 190k isn’t bad. Only you know if was worth purchasing and fixing.
Not impressed with that, or any of the dongle tools I’ve seen.
It was actually not too slow and did everything the expensive scan tools do.
I actually bought the £60 one and was able to reset the Engine Management light for DPF soot Accumulation. It didn't actually reset it until I drove the vehicle a few miles after doing the reset and the Engine Management light then went off. It hasn't come back on over 2 months later.😊
You can also reset soot percentage to 0% by telling it you have fitted a new DPF.
It's paid for itself but they do charge a yearly software subscription fee.
Probably OK for Joe at home fir just over 30 quid Jimmy 👍
Not a very good tool , had one worked for a while the stopped, poor back up , don’t waste your money
Doesn't every tailpipe get sooty instantly?
No bud , euro 5 and onwards should be soot free
Hi Jimmy.
Could you please give me the address of contact number for 🙏 Launch dpf cleaner supplier in ireland 🇮🇪 🙏 🙏 Google failed to locate the O'brien supplier you mentioned.
Thanks a million in advance
I did give the official link to the official supplier in Ireland but Jimmy removed it for some reason.
@@davidoff59 youtube remove links due to spam
All good, apologies.
Launch Europe has a list of official distributors on its website.
Cavan is the only one showing in Ireland
Seems very slow .
Why remove comments answering a question and then fail to answer the question yourself Jimmy.
What comments? I didn't remove any
@@ORileysAutosguy down below asking for Ireland supplier. I shared the link from Launch Europe which showed official suppliers and it was removed. It showed one reply but the comment wasn't there
Google will have removed it. It's advertising.
@sliderdriver1 yes when I comment with Ken O'brien Launch Ireland number or email the comment gets removed
