    Hi, first thank you for the review it's presented very clearly and thorough. The 689BT is really impressive tool on it's price range and I'm on it. What I didn't see is the abilty to reprogram or coding sub systems in the powertrain incase of replacments: such as Transmission, Dual clatch, Injectors, Turbo, Throttle, EGR, sensors (CKP,CMP and others..) etc. Is it possible? Thank you

      You're welcome! Ah yes the scanner does have coding and learning capabilities. They are accessible via the diagnosis module or the maintenance module (feel free to jump to the section you want to see using the video chapters). Just keep in mind that being able to activate a learn or code a specific component varies from vehicle to vehicle. @AlexAutoFun  3 місяці тому +1

      Hi S! It's going to come down to what the scanner will be used for and what vehicle(s) it will be connected to (basically which communication protocols are needed, specially important if you need CAN-FD or DOIP support). So I would start by checking to see if your vehicle(s) are on the list of supported vehicles, then checking if the function you need is supported by the scanner. Then I would consider any special features like, AutoAuth SGW, free updates or subscription based, what addons are supported, if you need OBD support and and finally you would want to consider price etc. Cheers!

    • @AlexAutoFun
      @AlexAutoFun  2 місяці тому

      Hi Richard! Ah yes while the scanner support IMMO access being able to add a key will depend on how many keys you have, if your car requires a new pin code, if you are adding a new key fob or a used one etc. In some cases a dedicated IMMO tool will also be needed if you are trying to re-use a previously assigned key fob where you need to make it "virgin" again using the dedicated IMMO tool, or if you are trying to clone a key outside of the vehicle (and other locksmith level functions). Thinkcar does accepts VIN numbers if you want them to check if it will be able to perform the function you need. Cheers!

    Can this scanner can read the original mileage of the car to know if its tampered or not? Thank you

    • @AlexAutoFun
      @AlexAutoFun  3 місяці тому +1

      Hi J! Ah that can be tricky. If the mileage has been modified, it may have been modified in multiple places making detection difficult if not impossible in some cases. However yes on some vehicles where the mileage is stored in several places, and not all of them were updated, that discrepancy could lead a mechanic to suspect something is off (but again unfortunately if there are several mismatching numbers, the real number may be unknown). There are also other ways to determine if a ECU has been manipulated, they are more complicated and require specialized software but they usually only reflect that a change was made but not what the change was.
