This album holds a special place in my heart. Not only is it a masterpiece, it was released on the same day my first son was born. Because of COVID, they wouldn’t let me in the hospital for the first 5 hours of my wife’s labour because they didn’t have enough rooms to admit her. I sat in my car nervous, excited and angry all at the same time. I listened to this album on repeat until my wife got a room and they let me in. Thank you Deftones for consistently getting me through some of the biggest challenges in my life.

I have to comment again after actually listening. My best friend took his own life in January. Every time I’ve seen Deftones it’s been with him. He took me to my first Deftones show. I remember when Diamond Eyes came out and how much it meant to both of us to fall in love with that album like we had ones before. The first single on this album about killed me ... the lyrics felt like I was talking to him/writing to him. This one just gives me goosebumps. I feel him listening to this album as it slowly releases with me and I know he’d love it too. This album means everything to me this year. A devastating year that’s just about destroyed me. I just needed this. Thank you.

Deftones somehow manages to stay deep in their roots after more than two decades and still keep it fresh. With other bands you can tell their core sound starts to drift after a while... deftones goes even deeper. Legends
Definitely, it seems like most bands from all over the alt rock umbrella in the nineties have been selling out, but these guys know how to keep it fresh while retaining that classic sound (trying to forget about Gore though)

I discovered Deftones at 10 years old when DBZ released a movie that featured “Change”. I used them as my guide to heavy music, and they’ve been one of my favorites ever since. My brother took me to my first concert 4 years later, I got to see them play at Family Values along with many others. I am fucking stoked that I can sit here at 28 years old with this absolute slapper of a song, and hearing my 6 year old daughter tell me she wants her first concert to be Deftones. A whole generation later. 🤘🏻

dont expect that sound at all. Its really good tho. If I had to make comparisons id say tone and style its very much like diamond eyes or koi no yokan records which I think is great! Now to compare to a song from one of those its very much in the vein of poltergeist as far as the way chino does a TON of that scream/yell thing he does on the verses. Overall fans are going to dig it! Chorus wasn't my favorite ever but need time to let it marinate! Im pumped because the first single worried me they were ditching the sounds they cultivated on DE and KNY but thats def not the case. It seems we are in for quite a diverse record!

Very, very few musical artists can go 25+ years at this sustained level of excellence. It's been a ride that never disappoints. I always laugh at the dumb recommendations music services give me based on Deftones. They aren't part of a genre. They are the genre.
I agree. I also feel the same way about Gojira, they have changed so much in 20 years but you can hear that their sound is still the same and they never dissappoint.
I think Koi No Yokan is one of their best albums, but I found Gore to be a disappointing album, and both of the singles from their upcoming album have disappointed me.

sounds like the ppl around you suck, all my freinds listened to this band going through highschool 2012/2016.
Deftones somehow manages to stay deep in their roots after more than two decades and still keep it fresh. With other bands you can tell their core sound starts to drift after a while... deftones goes even deeper. Legends

Definitely, it seems like most bands from all over the alt rock umbrella in the nineties have been selling out, but these guys know how to keep it fresh while retaining that classic sound (trying to forget about Gore though)

I think Deftones is the only band I that I've continuously listened to since middle school up to now a 31yo
I discovered Deftones at 10 years old when DBZ released a movie that featured “Change”. I used them as my guide to heavy music, and they’ve been one of my favorites ever since. My brother took me to my first concert 4 years later, I got to see them play at Family Values along with many others. I am fucking stoked that I can sit here at 28 years old with this absolute slapper of a song, and hearing my 6 year old daughter tell me she wants her first concert to be Deftones. A whole generation later. 🤘🏻

dont expect that sound at all. Its really good tho. If I had to make comparisons id say tone and style its very much like diamond eyes or koi no yokan records which I think is great! Now to compare to a song from one of those its very much in the vein of poltergeist as far as the way chino does a TON of that scream/yell thing he does on the verses. Overall fans are going to dig it! Chorus wasn't my favorite ever but need time to let it marinate! Im pumped because the first single worried me they were ditching the sounds they cultivated on DE and KNY but thats def not the case. It seems we are in for quite a diverse record!

Very, very few musical artists can go 25+ years at this sustained level of excellence. It's been a ride that never disappoints. I always laugh at the dumb recommendations music services give me based on Deftones. They aren't part of a genre. They are the genre.
I agree. I also feel the same way about Gojira, they have changed so much in 20 years but you can hear that their sound is still the same and they never dissappoint.

I think Koi No Yokan is one of their best albums, but I found Gore to be a disappointing album, and both of the singles from their upcoming album have disappointed me.
@@filmnmusic1 Ohms is pretty good. Genesis is the first track on the album and honestly I haven't been a fan of the first song on their album since Diamond Eyes. But usually the rest of the album is pretty great so well see. Either way, Deftones is bae

Man, it's been 2 years I've been listening to Deftones now. Yes, I do regret finding it so late but as now I've found. There's no going back. The only band which makes you feel different. There's just no comparison. They are elites at what they do. Also, how happy I was about Genesis release & yes, it's been on repeat since I've heard. Thank you, Deftones. ❤️

Intro sounds like white pony, the big riffs that follow have self titled vibes with a bit of Saturday night wrist... and the chorus/verses are VERY much akin to that of Gore.. quite the recipe there Deftones 🤘🏽🔥

I've been rocking to the Deftone since late 1995. I heard "Bored" on a local radio station in Boston. The next day drove to Newbury comics,bought Adrenaline and have been one of my all-time favorite bands since.
