Math major here. Trust me, Math is about the coolest shit you can experience in your life. The problem is it takes a long time and training to fully appreciate its intricacies. I actually see it as an art, just like music.

I think it's safe to say that this is one of the greatest songs they have ever made.
Deftones have been around for over 30 years, and they have just released quite possibly one of their very best albums. I am truly in awe of these guys.

I just can't understand how they could drop such an amazing album and waste their time and resources promoting remixes from older songs (and don't get me wrong, I fucking love their older work for years and years) but I can't understand the way they work.
This is an awesome album that may be forgotten because of the way they are working this quarentine years.

@@Giofergom I agree with your sentiment. I also have to say that the remixes sound terrible to me. This coming from someone who has bought every album except Bored in the initial release. Maybe it's a nostalgia thing for the band because White Pony sounds dated and a bit immature to me. Especially considering how they've progressed ten-fold as a band in the following years. Every album that followed is better to my ears than WP. And I could argue that it is their "worst" album. Presently, Ohms is my second favorite album behind KNY. I have a hard time understanding their seeming lack of faith in themselves in terms of Ohms and how great it is. I'm not an artist so I will never be able to relate to the eccentricities of a band like the Deftones and how they perceive their own creation(s).

Am I the only one that thinks this is a top-3 best Deftones song ever? I’m a die-hard Deftones fan. I listened to this album non-stop for 3 weeks. I took about a 2 week break from the album and came back to see if I liked it as much as when I first heard it. This song is everything Deftones has worked to become. It’s heavy. It’s melodic and soothing. It’s definitely not something you’d hear on the radio. But it’s so Deftones. It’s so dreamy. It’s the definition of Deftones. I can’t express how amazing this track is. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted in a Deftones song

I'm glad I'm not the only person who has this kind of cycle with a new Deftones album. I'm relatively new to Deftones fandom, having hopped on board with Diamond Eyes, but every single album works like this: I listen to it for a few days, maybe a week, thinking "This is good stuff." Then I push it aside for a little while. A few weeks go by until one of their new songs comes on through my phone library shuffle and my mind is blown. It's at that point I know it's time to revisit the album, and THAT's when the full greatness hits me. I have no idea why this band specifically does this, but all 3 album releases I've gone through since Diamond Eyes (Koi No Yokan, Gore and now Ohms) have all played out in that exact manner. Even going back to White Pony did the same. It's almost like my brain has to take time to calibrate itself or something.
not gonna lie, I'm pretty sure I couldn't figure out a top 3 Deftones songs for my life, hell, maybe not even a top 10. but I feel you! this is maybe probably definitely my favourite on the album so far. it has everything I love about Deftones and it just gets better with each listen ughh ♡~♡

This song is about loving a person who’s toxic for you. Even when Chino sings of love in the chorus, the music is jarring and ominous. It conveys the paradox of such a connection: the beauty and the destruction.

Brings me back to an ex that was just pure sex, but nothing more. Explosive chemistry at its finest but nothing at the core. This song evokes that completely.

I agree, but for the structure of the music and bypass that sound follow. The sound itself is poor, cracked all quality that then put in production. It sounds artificial. It's just a point of view. The music itself is great. I'm a big fan of Deftones.

this might very well be deftones' best song. creates an atmosphere i have never heard in any song before. dense, aggressive, heavy, ethereal, cold, huge, dreamy, passionate vocals and lyrics (chino never disappoints) all at the same time. what's not to like? bone crushing riff and surreal synth. seriously, this is incredible!

This was the song that made me a fan. I had heard them before, I've known of them for years, but this song convinced me to listen to Ohms as a whole. It went on to become one of my top albums of 2020 and then I went to listen to the rest of their discography. Now, I'm a huge fan. This album is so absurdly good.
If you liked this album, I'd say you would vibe with their self titled album a lot. You can't necessarily compare it to this album but it has some awesome unique dark tones that I haven't heard since self titled release, well, until ohms hit

My top Deftones albums are Ohms, Koi No Yokan and Diamond Eyes with White Pony and the self-titled following very close behind!

I'm declaring OHMS Deftones best album to date. In fact, this may just be one of the best albums I've ever heard from any artist, period. Every lyric, vocal and melody is deliberate with a purpose. This may just be the best album my ears have ever heard.

Deftones is one of the few bands that build concepts on each album, through the melody, the setting, the lyrics, the artwork. Every album is an experience, and this Ohms has literally blown my head off. ‘Urantia’ with an addictive melody, ‘Error’ Rhythmically brutal, ‘The Spell of Mathematics’ my favorite Deftones theme so far (impressive), with ‘Pompeji’ I imagined spectres from another dimension enjoying the waters, ‘Radiant City’ with its head-busting riff and Headless with that SNW 2006 vibes concludes a perfect album in my opinion.

Hate to disagree but...... Expected more... All sounds the same to me.. Been a fan since day one and this album jus makes me sad... Not gunna jump on the wagon jus cuz it's deftones.. All the tracks sound the same man.. Im sure ppl will tell me otherwise but I jus cant do it

This is one of those songs that took me out of what I was doing. It has that hypnotic Deftones charm that I love.
Frank Delgado gave this whole album, and especially this song, such a cool windy/heady vibe with those crystaly echoes spinning heavier the more chaotic the rest of it is getting. I haven't been this in love with an album right away since i started discovering music decades ago. A lot of stuff I end up liking grows and changes, but these came right out bangin my ear pussies
