you should do a video on how to paint your non-dominate hand because people always ask me how I do it and I don't know how to explain it to them. Thanks love you so much
I would really love to see the “posture” of you when you paint your nails. If there could be another camera filming you painting your nails that would be great!! Couse I’m struggling in what is the best position or angle to paint my nail.
hey I've found that it's easier to use a small angled liner brush to clean up cuz the rounded one can mess up the sides more because it's not straight across.
Definitely need that dehydrator every time I do my nails they always chip the next day, thanks for all the tips, I love doing my nails but I feel like I never paint them right so I only like to do distressed nails since they can be messy looking and no one would know if you really messed up.
+Mimi Iman I love the dry brush/distressed look though! I think that you can probably do more nail art than you think - how about in between manicures, you take a bobby pin or a pencil and try doing some easy designs on your nail (like polka dots!) and see how it goes?
Kelli Marissa I used to do my nails all the time but then I bit them (worst habit) they did grow back but I got rid of all my nail polishes when I moved this year a lot of them were old and I want to start fresh. So pretty much I have to start my collection back including tools but I think I'll take the bobby pin tip and do my nails today. Thanks 💖
Started bing watching your videos since i started doing my nails with regular polish after getting a gel alergie)): I am happy I can still have my nails done and beautiful!!
if you use the right amount of nail polish - not too thick, this often means you'll need a couple coats for lighter colors - it shouldn't take too long, maybe like five minutes
Wow! Wish I had seen this a long time ago. I was doing ok with my mani, but mostly because I did a lot of clean up. But after watching this, minimal clean up and took me 25 minutes! 🤩 beauty. Thank you so much! Keep on doing these kind of videos! 👏👍🏻
great tips. For newbies, I think it's important to note that pure acetone is really harsh. so, it's not something that you should use to remove polish, a lot. Acetone for natural nails works great, too. pure acetone is made to remove acrylic nails, so that just shows how potent it is! 😉
Wow, I have been growing my nails for about 2 months, and following your instructions. :) Today was the big day, and real paid for manicure. Guess what I do a better job at home :) :) . I came home refiled my nails, and applied 2 more coats of top coat. You have trained me well.
Who knows! I can't write with my toes, both sides in cursive, yet I can't paint my right hand without getting it everywhere! I am so bad I used to blame my niece 😕
Dehydrater... Hmm, now that's a new one on me it sounds like that's where I've been going wrong. Just added it to my list! Thanks again you are really informative and I'm so happy to have met you! Have a good day! 💅 💕
+Christine Cherniski hey Christine, a lot of people say it does the same thing, so you can definitely give it a try! I haven't done it myself though so I can't be sure :)
Awesome video Kelli I just wanted to let you know I think it's so awesome that you reply to mostly all the people that comment on your videos keep up the good work 😀😀😀😀😀😀
Have you ever used anything like "Out the door" top coat? It's a quick dry top coat and it works great! I use all the steps you've mentioned and then put the Out the door polish last. My nails with last almost 2 weeks:)
Thank you so much for these tips, I'll be definetely using them the next time I paint my nails! I didn't knew the dehydrator was such an important thing, my mani always seems to peel off a few days later, I hate that! ❤💁💅
I know this had been years, but I just saw this. I just love your videos. I am growing my nails for the first time in years. I just want neat short nails. My nails are very soft, bend and tear. I have been using hardening and strengthening treatments. so where does the base and top coats come in ? base coast then hardener, color color, then strengthener, and top coat ? then hardener one day and the next top coat ??? Or am I over thinking this. I have made my nail color last 10 days using your tips :) :)
Hey Ann, I’d suggest using a nail strengthener as a base coat. My favorite is Duri Rejuvacote. Apply that over your bare nail, then your nail color, and then if you want you can use the strengthener as a top coat as well but I don’t find that to be very effective - I’d just put some top coat over that!
I know you like the Cuccio brand, have you ever tried the Super 7 Second Reactive Top Coat? Do you have any other fave products? btw... love your channel
Like I say you always make it look so easy...you should see me doing my nails...it's an ordeal and I do them once a week every week...my nail polish last 7 days🙈🙈🙈🙈I never have bare nails.
hi!!! new sub💖 I love these tutorials!!! just wondering, are there some colors that you find yourself needing to prime with white polish before you apply?
+Megan Biron hey Megan! Welcome to my channel :) the polishes I use generally don't need a white polish base - but I do use white polish underneath gradient nail art to make the colors pop! I don't really love using the type of neons that need a white base because I don't have a steady hand and I always see white bits in the corner haha.
Is the dehydrator basically rubbing alcohol? I usually wipe my nails with rubbing alcohol before painting to make sure my nails r super clean. Nice video!
Hi Kelli, I'm a novice at nail painting and I think I'm doing something wrong... After my base and color coats all looks fine. When I apply my top coat bubbles appear as it dries. I don't shake the top coat bottle and I tried several brands but get the same result every time. So my guess is I'm doing something wrong. Any advice? Many thanks!!!
+summerfrost85 hey, so the bubbling could be one of two reasons that I know of - either your top coat is too thick/goopy, in which case you'll need to add remover, or you're not in a temperature controlled environment when you're painting/drying your nails! I notice my polish bubbles a lot in the summer because I don't have central air conditioning and it gets really warm.
Kelli Marissa Thanks! I hadn't realized temperature is a factor but it makes sense. Weather is warm and humid and I don't have AC. And also explains why a thicker coat only makes it worse. Thanks for the help (and all the great videos!)

so i take these extra strength nail hair and skin pills.. my nails hardly crack .. it's happened twice since June.. so do you think I should still do the dehydrator? .. also I never cut or use cuticle remover.. do you think that is a necessary step.. or could I get away with it.. I hear cutting your cuticles is bad for your nails.. is this solution killing the cuticle?.. as for the cuticle oil.. I do use nail lotion but my nail bed still get Purdy dry.. was going to start coconut oil tonight.. or do you think I should get the oil.. you're really good at how you take care of your nails.. I still see myself as new.. thanks for any info
Hey! So the dehydrator is to help the nail polish stick to your nails - if you have trouble with that, I’d suggest using it for sure. I don’t remove my cuticles very frequently, only if they are looking pretty dry/dead, this solution helps me get them off without cutting them.
you should do a video on how to paint your non-dominate hand because people always ask me how I do it and I don't know how to explain it to them. Thanks love you so much
I think that's a great idea Allison :) thank you for the suggestion!!
I did all of your steps and this is the best manicure I've ever done! Thank you!
+Lyndsay Dewey I'm so happy to hear that Lyndsay!!
My problem is I'm so impaitent and I CANT wait for my nails to dry
Joy Watson same
Joy Watson me too
quick dry top coat + dunk your nails in ice-cold water for 10 seconds. it's nail magic.
Shea Pierson that doesn't dry all the layers of your nail polish, so it's actually not very ideal.

Hanan Muse yes
Yesssss dehydration! Such an important step. I just use isopropyl and that works the same :).
That's a great idea!
I use isopropyl alcohol too or acetone. 😁
I have a Gel Cuticle remover that I use to remove the over-grown Cuticle
Loved this tutorial❤️ Definitely going to try this❤️💅🏻 Your the person I watch for nail tutorials and nail advice🙈 Love You❤️
That means so much to me!! Thank you Leslie ❤️
Kelli! I use the same brush to clean up as you. I find it works so much better than anything else I have ever tried!
+Heather Brown oh yes it's my favorite! I never use any other haha!
I loved this tutorial and I think you have an amazing voice :)
Started bing watching your videos since i started doing my nails with regular polish after getting a gel alergie)): I am happy I can still have my nails done and beautiful!!
I love the ELF brush idea with the acetone! I always struggle with cleaning up around the nail because I use a Qtip. Thank you! 😁
It makes a big difference to use a brush! :)
So helpful! Thank you.
I am currently transitioning from salon dips to doing my own nails at home, and your videos have been a huge help! 🖤
Oh I'm so happy to hear that Jessica! It's definitely a fun process to learn and you'll end up saving money too 😄
Also, fellow Slytherin here!!! 💚🐍💚🐍
Definitely gonna try these tips! Your nails look A-MAZ-ING!!!! Thanks for the video!❤️💅
how long does it take for the first coat to dry? pls answer thank you!
Jasmine Norman i would probably wait about 15 minutes

I’m so happy you found it helpful Michelle!!
Love this! Great video! I have the opi dehydrator but have never used it! 😂 maybe I should start! The colour is gorgeous!
Yes you definitely should! You'll be surprised how much longer your mani lasts :)
+Kelli Marissa I got Instagram today and I added a photo of a nail art I done! I tried to tag but I'm not sure if I got it right 😂
Thanks I needed this because sometimes I have streaks in my nail polish very helpful
:) happy to help! Thanks for watching!

I agree! I do love to use acetone to clean up around my skin, but I NEVER use it to remove my manicures! I prefer strengthening nail polish remover :)
Kelli, what other base coats have you tried? Have you done a comparison - Sally Hansen, Seche Vite, OPI, others? Thanks!
Wow, I have been growing my nails for about 2 months, and following your instructions. :) Today was the big day, and real paid for manicure. Guess what I do a better job at home :) :) . I came home refiled my nails, and applied 2 more coats of top coat. You have trained me well.
Haha doing it yourself is definitely better than going to the salon! :) You’re beyond salon manis now!!!
this video helped me so much!!! thanks ❤️
I'm so happy to hear that, Sophia!
I've been using the elf brush since i discovered it a few hrs back & it's fabulous and inexpensive!

But HOW am I supposed to do this on my right hand?
Naemi Welter ikr the struggle is real.
it's a matter of practice!i am getting better every day but when i started...boy it was a mess!
Magically become a left handed!
Naemi Welter yes you r right it's too difficult
Who knows! I can't write with my toes, both sides in cursive, yet I can't paint my right hand without getting it everywhere! I am so bad I used to blame my niece 😕
I love this tutorial. Wouldn't the dehydrator REALLY dry out your nails?
+LoveYouNavyBlue no it just takes out any moisture or oils :) not as drying as pure acetone!
I love you! The best nail videos on UA-cam. THANK YOU SO MUCH
+Goddess Valentina Of Radiant Shimmering Light I’m so happy you enjoy them! :)
You make short nails look beautiful. I just can’t seem to get mine to stay long for any length of time
This video REALLY helped me, so thanks!!!😀👍
+Clare Mitchell I'm so happy to hear that Clare!
Dehydrater... Hmm, now that's a new one on me it sounds like that's where I've been going wrong. Just added it to my list! Thanks again you are really informative and I'm so happy to have met you! Have a good day! 💅 💕
It'll make a huge difference if you find your manicures peeling or chipping off too quickly!
It does look professional! Love your videos :))
Thank you so much
When you recommend a dehydrator for nails before polish will isopropyl alcohol do the same job?
+Christine Cherniski hey Christine, a lot of people say it does the same thing, so you can definitely give it a try! I haven't done it myself though so I can't be sure :)
Tysm. It's great to have cheaper alternatives. I love your make up in this tutorial btw.
can you also use polish remover / acetone as a dehydrator?
This is really helpful !
+Rainbow Nails I'm happy to hear that :) thanks for watching!
Kelli what can I use as a substitute if I don't have a dehydrator for my nails
Awesome video Kelli I just wanted to let you know I think it's so awesome that you reply to mostly all the people that comment on your videos keep up the good work 😀😀😀😀😀😀

Omg I so needed this! 😒quarantine... Hey🙋🏽
Haha happy to help!!
Love the cuticle oil bottle I want it. Where can I get it in Australia?
I use rubbing alcohol to dehydrate my nails. Would there be any advantage to using a product specifically designed for nail dehydration?
+Shea Pierson hey Shea, as far as I know, it has the same effect!
Kelli Marissa okay, thank you! 😊
Love your videos, learn a lot!!! Thank you 👍😘
yeah that's great please do a video because I found it difficult to do te sides of your nails
Love your channel and tips Kelli.
:) thank you!
Kelli Marissa which cuccio top coat do you recommend more: super 7 second reactive top coat or high gloss top coat?
Thank you so much for these tips, I'll be definetely using them the next time I paint my nails! I didn't knew the dehydrator was such an important thing, my mani always seems to peel off a few days later, I hate that! ❤💁💅
You can use isopropyl alcohol or acetone to dehydrate the nail as well. 😊
I loved this! Great video Kelli😘😍

Happy to help :)
Kelli Marissa 😄💖💖
thank you for all your advise.
+Anna Tabano glad you found it helpful Anna!
Could you do a video with tips on how to help your polish dry faster? Or is it just about patience?
+Annie Dykstra I actually do have a video with tips on drying coming soon! Hopefully in the next week :)
Awesome, I can't wait :) I literally just went on Amazon and bought 4 of the products I've seen in your videos.
Nice job I loved this how much are each one
+Felicia Lopez the products? They're very inexpensive, but it depends on where you purchase them :)
hi!!! new sub💖 I love these tutorials!!! just wondering, are there some colors that you find yourself needing to prime with white polish before you apply?
+Megan Biron hey Megan! Welcome to my channel :) the polishes I use generally don't need a white polish base - but I do use white polish underneath gradient nail art to make the colors pop! I don't really love using the type of neons that need a white base because I don't have a steady hand and I always see white bits in the corner haha.
Can you use Rubbing Alcohol as a nail dehydrator?
+Bubblelicious2206 that should work fine :)
Is the dehydrator basically rubbing alcohol? I usually wipe my nails with rubbing alcohol before painting to make sure my nails r super clean. Nice video!
I'm actually not sure what it's made of, but I'm sure rubbing alcohol has the same effect since it should dry out your nails :)
Love The Nails😍😘 Love You So Much Kelli😘❤️
Thank you so much Zainab
I love it it's very helpful
Glad you enjoyed, Sara!
This was so helpful!!!😃
Love it ...thanks
Maybe that’s what I’m doing wrong. I just bought the dehydrator solution. Thanks for the link below
i love this tutorial. thank you so much beautiful 💕 don't forget how gorgeous you are.
Great Video! Your hands and nails look beautiful! I am going to try my hardest to get great looking hands and nails! Any advice? Thanks
+BGmamaJwife thank you so much! I would say that using lotion frequently is very important :) and always use base coat to protect your nails!
I can't stop watching your videos. LOL
+keila Gonçalves haha thanks so much Keila!
This was super helpful!
+Pascale Simmons happy to help Pascale!
This is really help full
+Norma Berrios I'm glad you enjoyed it Norma!
How do you make the curves so perfect on the nail
Kelli can u please give me a link to the dehydrator because i couldn't find it on the website? Thanks!
It doesn't seem to be on the website - I'll take a look!
So glad someone else has mentioned how much the camera gets in the way while filming! lol
I'm surprised how thick you paint your polish on! I've always read thin coats prevent the peeling ?
+LouLou haha it seems like thick coats because it's such a close shot, but really the coats I paint on are thinner than they look!
Is there a way to make your nails grow longer or any products that can speed up the process that you would recommend/
+CarolsVideos hey Carol! I actually recently did a video on this, it's in my Nail Polish 101 playlist!!
Is it absolutely necessary to wait for each coat to completely dry? Greetings from Bolivia.
You want it to be mostly dry, otherwise your full manicure won’t dry once it’s complete!
very good and helpful video. 💐
+GRACE Jones thanks so much :)
Wondering why to apply lotion and then dehydrater? Is this to moisten cuticles?
+Christine Cherniski yes! Honestly now I do it after the manicure is finished though!
Love this it helped alot 😄
+nailea gaucin So glad it helped :)

is nail dehydrator same as nail cleaner
+Marta Polić-Strinić not exactly!
can you use acetone as your nail dehydrator?
+Laura Sommerstorfer you can! It's supposed to not be great for your nails but it's never harmed mine before.
Has Cuccio changed their dehydrator?
I actually haven't repurchased it in a while so I can't say for sure!
