    I like using the bead, it helps protect the knot and keeps the sinker from gettin stuck on the knot.... Great vid, thanks for sharing!!

      Use a slip with a plastic sleeve in the hole. The bead may be an attractant OR it may be a caution sign to the snaps.

    Bank rigs work good when using live bait or dead.live bait can move around better using a 3way swivel main line connects to the first eye 2nd line is crimmped to the bank weight. leader is connected to the last eye with a hook instead of the bait being vertical its horizontal so the bait can move easier.now this is just what im imaging in my head..i do use a carolina rig with a circle hook so i can set one rod down in the holder while i work the other.

    I also like to add a split weight just above the knot. Just clamp it to the main line and it protects the knot and it makes more sound with the metal on metal sound.

    Good info. Thanks. Probably good for big fresh water cats as well. Maybe?

    I feel that the plastic bead between the lead and the knot helps prevent the lead front wearing into the knot. It just seems logical, I really can't say as I don't do much bottom fishing but I've seen some pretty ragged edges on egg sinkers "eyes". Gonna have to do some experimenting with this concept.

    Haha ya we tried going light a few weeks ago but kept getting broke off kept uping our leader till we put on 200 lb test and found out it was greater amberjacks that we kept hooking an some of them exceeded 30± lb

    Do you use a swivel to attach the rig to the main line or you tie an Albright knot?

  • @TridentDriver

    Wonder if anyone does this for sheepshead. Seems more sensitive than a carolina rig.

    You didn’t mention how you tie the leader to the braid. Do you use a swivel there, or do you tie it Universal to Universal knot?

    I get alot of weird looks when I fish, and I pretty much only use a knocker rig(sometimes on outgoing tides I will use a popping cork), but then they all look surprised when I out fish them. I am thinking maybe to put those beads on my knocker rigs also, would that help attract them any more, with the sound, or are they solely to keep the egg weight off the knot?

      Yeah they keep telling me my weight is too close to the hook thinking I’m clueless

    The downside of knocker rig is when you catch a fish and set the hook. Once you set the hook, the sinker swings back and hits the hook. The impact will push the hook back out of the fish mouth. Prefer Carolina rig.

      myshowvids if you use a circle hook you won’t have to set the hook

    • @seanfinney2750
      @seanfinney2750 3 роки тому

      You dont need to set the hook with a circle hook, let them take off with it and keep that pressure

    Can you just go ahead and go with the 40 to 50 pound leader even if the fish are small? Just to be safe ?

    What size circle hook do you recommend?

    • @seanfinney2750
      @seanfinney2750 3 роки тому +2

      I think it just depends on the bait(size of bait), and the species you are trying to target. My opinion the smaller the better. I have held onto slot reds with 1/0 circle hooks myself.

    Everyone has a How to rig , but how to actually fish the rig…..? Drop it 😂down, hits bottom, immediately close the bail/set the convention reel? Free line the line out? Leave bail open? Bounce on bottom , don’t bounce on bottom ? When anchored or drifting techniques? No one really goes into how to fish it. Cheers.

    Can you do this method without Leader just on main line

    • @30mofishing
      @30mofishing  5 років тому

      yes... in that case, the smaller the main line, the smaller the weight tho.

    • @308sir

      @@30mofishing I have 50 pound braided

    • @30mofishing
      @30mofishing  5 років тому

      if water is dirty then u can go straight braid. if clean then use a 50lb leader with knocker... knocker will work better on mono floro leader.

    That big weight will also knock the hook out the fish mouth
