- In this video I give a simple and effective bottom fishing rig called the knocker rig. Using a simple Albright knot to tie the the main line to the leader and an improved clinch knot to tie the leader to the hook. I hope you guys are enjoying the content.

Hey Chris! Good job explaining how to tie the rig and how it works. Always good to learn new methods for fishing. I grew up only ever being taught the Texas and Carolina rigs since we primarily fished for bass where my family is from. Now that I live down on the Gulf coast and I have saltwater fishing available to me whenever, I have a lot to learn. Good content because even though it may seem simple, somebody out there may not know it yet (like myself in this case). Thanks for the video man!

Nope haven’t even fished with live bait yet other than minnows in fresh water lol. I’ll get out there one of these days and put this to use. Too busy with family/work to go right now.
Didn't know it was called a knocker rig but I've been using this for years...it works great in moving tidal flows! Caught everything from sharks to spottails and what kind of fish doesn't like a good set of knockers!🤪

I love your explanation of the way to set up lines and how simple you make it to understand but I didn't like when you got upset about the guy watching you after he stopped mowing because that's why you film the videos surely... For people to watch and learn new things and skills you should have asked him to come over for a closer look like a 1 on 1 if I was him that would have made my year. An act of pure kindness and selflessness that's so rare and unexpected in any situation that it makes you realise it's never as bad as it seems

Ya I know ,I was looking at some of your old videos, ( I was bored ) and saw this and just had to say I always set up a "couple " of rods with knocker rigs as usually when bottom fishing you'll get snagged and this way you can chuck another bait out quick if the bite is on , and yes fishermen always enjoy a good set of knockers 😳👍🏼.

Honestly both work great! It all comes down to personal preference. Knocker rig if the tide is moving hard.

Chris, MAYBE, they stop mowing because they want to be a good neighbor and not make too much noise??? And a bonus is they get to watch you film. Just a thought. You still should use a bead Sometimes the sinkers can be sharp
when weight is moving freely, isn't there more chances to get ur hook on rocks, would be a bit confusing of the fish bites too right 🤔 ?
You can’t really hear the mowing. But can hear you perfectly
Put a bead between the hook and sinker and itll keep the knot from sticking in the sinker
Good advice Austin! I try and keep the tackle at minimal, you can’t also try a bobber stopper depending on your leader size!
@@CaptChrisCanning heck yeah I fish for catfish and use this rig with a bobber stop above my sinker so I can keep it close to my hook for heavy cover

I bought a motorhome to live in 6 hours from home and broke down at midnight still 4 hours away with no bedding food water and a 25ft long van I also had my 4 year old who was meant to be back at his mum's yesterday. I found a travel lodge and limped there abandoning my van across half the tiny car park and headed inside no one around so was going to sit in the reception untill I could book online and get a room but an angel arrived and told me they are full And there isn't many other places to try at that time so off she went and then came back through the main door with 2 duvets and covers 2 sheets and 2 pillows for us both to camp in the van with a s I still use them 7 months later. Unlimited trips inside for whatever we needed, unlimited water and then some breakfast boxes with a pastry cereal milk and a spoon oh and fruit
If you snell the hook there is no knot for the sliding sinker to wear down.

Preference! In the video I mentioned how I like to use less tackle, but sometimes will put a bead on there.

I live waaay out in the country 3 neighbors within 1/4 mile. Out of those 3, mowers run all day long 6 days out of the week. WHY WHY do you want to mow all day long. You retired so you can mow more yard. Then when you get too old to mow all this yourself you have your children tag team it. Cows and other livestock used to keep it mowed. Lot quieter at mowing.
So I should buy my neighbors some livestock?!
