    I love your videos....Thank you for all that you do for the fishing community. Just wanted to add something I've noticed when I'm fishing..Fish are kinda dumb... I've found they don't really care about what's looks natural, they kinda just bite at what's moving. They get spooked, yes, that is true. My dad's friend, who had major fishing lure sponsors, tied on a paper matchbook on his line and told my dad, "watch this" had a strike on it from a monster bass... The guy told my dad...."When they're hungry, they bite everything". Just saying, if they can see it, they'll probably try to eat it....

      Thank you for this comment! It's funny you say that because recently I've come to a similar conclusion...some fish are smarter than others but ultimately they're all kind of dumb haha. I think the fishing industry tries to complicate things and market the next best thing for sales but when it comes down to it, finding the fish is the most important thing and if they are hungry they're going to most likely eat what you throw in front of them.

    Great info! On the last rig I would probably get rid of the snap/swivel combo and just use a snap and tie directly to that since it will have a swivel attached below it anyway. The less hardware the better.

    • @NickeeGee
      @NickeeGee  2 роки тому +1

      That's a good suggestion! I actually started just trying a loop knot on the end of my rigs and just snapping to that!

    . learn how to tie a simple knot like the improved fisherman knot and lose the snap swivel, takes 10 seconds to tie the knot and eliminates the chance of failure from the snap swivel, along with the added chance of getting hung up on the bottom

    • @NickeeGee
      @NickeeGee  Рік тому +1

      This is just really to expedite the time to the fish as much as possible, 10 seconds isn't a long time but in the heat of the moment it could make a big difference. Also much more likely for the weight to get snagged on the bottom and not the snap swivel. Lastly, haven't had a snap swivel fail yet. Most of the time the line is getting broke off below the snap swivel.

    Can you do a video on how you store your premade rigs so they don’t get all tangled up?

      One simple trick I use for that is after I make the rigs I run them thru a straw and then tie a rubber band around the straw to hold the tail ends of the rigs. Super cheap and it works great. Try it and let me know how I'm you like it. Tight Lines! 👍🏼🐟🦐

    It's a lot cheaper to rig your own!! I usually keep about a half dozen pre-made using 100 lb. mono .....I'm also using 80 lb. mono on the reel and I skip the snap swivel.....9 days to go if this howlin' wind ever lets up!!

    • @NickeeGee
      @NickeeGee  3 роки тому

      Yes it is! And honestly the ones you buy in the store aren't good for the fishery either, typically they have the weights fixed and if you get broke off you end up with a weight hanging out of the groupers mouth! We are pre fishing tomorrow trying to see where they're at we will let you know! It sure has been a windy year

    why not just making a loop knot or surgeon loop you don't need a snap swivel.

    • @NickeeGee
      @NickeeGee  2 роки тому +1

      Not sure I quite understand what you mean? I actually did a video not too long ago explaining how I know do a loop only on my pre made rigs to save a swivel not sure if that's what you mean? If you do a loop only on the end of your main line you would still need to tie a knot to it from your pre made rigs. Let me know if I'm misunderstanding you! Thanks for watching and leaning the comment I appreciate it!!!

      I believe that hvuu1628 meant to make you hook and leader rig without the swivel used below the snap. That’s what I was thinking. Just make the terminal part rig with a loop, save a swivel.

  • @Florida_Man_Robb
    @Florida_Man_Robb 2 роки тому +1

    So #2 and #3 are functioning EXACTLY the same way, yet you say that you use #2 the least often, and #3 has a snap swivel in there for absolutely no reason. You can just tie a bunch of premade leader/hooks with a loop knot and just loop those through the barrel swivel on #2. #2 looks clean, #3 looks like a bunch of unnatural jewelry that’s just going to hang up.

    • @NickeeGee
      @NickeeGee  2 роки тому

      I actually made an updated video where I just have a snap swivel on the end of my main line and use the loop knots to attach to the snap swivel. Way easier/faster. I feel like looping the entire rig through the barrel swivel could be a little cumbersome, but I'll have to give it a try. Thanks for your feedback!

    I watched another interesting video well done.
    The last assembly what is the difference with the carolina rig.
    Is it more efficient? What is the difference between taking fish?
    For the knocker rig assembly on do not put a stop on the line on just put a sinker and a hook?
    And finally you don't put pearls on the line?
    thank you sir🙂👍🙏

    • @NickeeGee
      @NickeeGee  2 роки тому +1

      So the last assembly the only difference is I put a snap swivel in place of a regular barrel swivel. This allows me to change out rigs very quickly compared to having to retie knots to the regular barrel swivel. I haven't noticed any difference in fish catching whatsoever.
      As far as knocked rig I don't use a stop on the line, just a weight and a hook. I don't feel the extra hardware on the line is necessary and don't really think the hook knocking the knot affects it's strengths.
      And lastly, no pearls on the line. I'm a keep it simple kind of guy and don't really think the fish care that much !

Fishing is one of those sports where you can have a great day, or a day with no fish at all, but as long as you learn every time you go out that's what it's all about!
