Weighted jig is also a killer for Yellowtails also. Always have all 4 rigged on my boat when snapper fishing. That all work great. Heavy chumming is a must to catch snapper. Great video Sir.
Hey Josh.. Thanks for the info on the weighted hook, hadn't heard that before.. Always good to see you and I learn alot from you and Chris.. God bless you both and your families.. Still waiting for a fishing challenge just to see Chris get nailed..lol. Always your friend, fan, and subscriber..
Really appreciate the video. I’m new to Saltwater fishing and new to the TB area. This rigging video was helpful. Let me know if you ever need to fill an empty seat:)
🌴. Those are all great rigs ,free lining you are presenting the bait in it’s natural form , anything that doesn’t look natural will send them away , but my friend you left one out and I used it today I used a slide bobber on a light set up , the reason I used it there was turtle grass on the bottom that bottom rigs we’re getting hung up on ,knowing how deep the water was I could set the depth of the bobber to keep the bait just above the grass , unfortunately the snapper were all small , ya ya I know now I’m starting to sound like Chris 😂
Hey Josh, thanks for sharing, this is good stuff. Really appreciate the time you put in to your channel. Inshore snapper is my favorite target because they are so good to eat. Agree with the freeline, that’s the way to go. Can you share your favorite snapper bait? I like smaller white bait. Small pinfish if I can’t find whitebait. Sometimes they only hit live bait and sometimes they prefer cut, thoughts on that? Shrimp seem to attract smaller snapper for me so a lot more sorting. One more question, do you make your own chum?
@@jayzhou104 I have many spots that I can wade to and catch snapper. I also have spots on sea walls that hold keeper snapper. You don't need a boat or a pier. 👍
Disagree..i catch mangroves all the time..perhaps your trying to "set" the hook like a j hook..dont do that..just lift the rod..and they will set themself..
Hmmm, my 1. O circle hook catches mutton snapper, barracuda, and two giants that I fought for 15 minutes until my 15 lb test broke after 98 % of spool empty. All on frozen squid. God only knows what the monsters were, probably shark or more barracuda 🎣
"When you chum....they get dumb." Classic!

What was the first outfit rod called?
At 2:51 what pound line do you use for your blue rod
When you say 15lb power pro, is it the diameter or the test strength? I do 8lb but it has 30lb strength.
15b breaking strength
2024 who here
What rod is that at 3:10?
Okuma SRT
what about for folks who don't have a boat......how would "they" target these mangrove snapper? not many of us is able to "chum" them...
I've caught limits of snapper for decades chumming them from shore. Not sure what you mean???

Absurd! Circle hooks are great for snapper. Learn how to use them. Crank don't yank
