I have a 2004 Solara SLE, excellent car even with ~230,000 miles. Quiet, comfortable, reliable. A shame no one really wants cruisers like these anymore.
@@SentientOrang Neither. Bought a Murano and kept both for a bit. Gave the Solara to my niece as a graduation/bday gift and she totaled it in 2 months 😔🤦🏾♂️
My very first car-- Im in the market for another car, but I cant seem to find anything close to the Toyota Solara... I love them so much and dont want to let go lol... so many great qualities (IMO). The next one will be a convertible..
I had a 2006 2.4L model. It was the smoothest thing I have ever driven. It got totaled by a deer. I miss that car every day. Would buy another one in a heartbeat.
I picked up a 2004 Solara V6 SLE with just a little over 20,000 miles for $6,000! The owner had to move to Hawaii and didn't want to pay to ship it along with his wife's car. It's essentially a new car! I can put another 40K miles on it and sell it for what I paid for it. It's an underrated car.
Just scored a really clean one, 125k miles old couple owned always dealer maintenanced. Xmas came early for me. Even had the timing belt done. It’s sporty enough for me and I’m more into cruising with option to go fast at leisure. Outside my 69 Mustang Fastback that isn’t even finished yet (restomod) this is my favorite cat I’ve ever owned.
Just bought an 04 V6 SLE coupe in absolutely red. 114k miles, mint inside. Such a smooth, quiet ride compared to my 04 accord. Only downside is the sluggish transmission really limits the 230 hp this thing has.
I'd really like to find Solara Conv at some point. They're insanely good cars, especially with the V6 since you don't have to worry about the 2AZ oil issues. The 1MZ and 3MZ are some of the best engines ever made.
Have this v6 engine swapped in my 1991 Toyota mr2. Just checking this video to see what RPM the engine is at during highway cruising. It looks to be about 2100RPM. My mr2 still has the 5spd manual transmission from the old 5s-fe 4cyl engine, geared really short. So 60mph is 3000RPM for my mr2. Top speed is 115mph due to the short gearing. Sometimes I wonder if I'm doing the engine any harm revving at 3000rpm on the highway.
I have a 2007 Solara Convertiable SLE in gray. currently at 140k miles and running smooth. The only downside though is I get 16.5mpg avg on the car. it is the 3.3l v6 model. Honestly its a really fun car to drive. I am a really big car guy and as my first car, I wanted something I could have fun with but also be extremely reliable. I have used every power this engine has to offer and its still holding up so sweet. I pull in the car a lot and I got to say, the 220ft of torque feels a lot more when you do it right.
I drove Camry Solara Convertible 2007 when I was in NY, sound of engine and understeer of handling I would like to recommend…. kind of part of LFA if I can say..
Nice car! I have the same engine issues in my 2004 Lexus ES 330 with 169, 900 miles. I bought it two weeks ago. It has slow acceleration and shifting issues from 2nd to 3rd and downshifting from 4th to 3rd. I am thinking I need to up the octane to 91. What octane level are you putting in your Solara?
I WISH I COULD HAVE ONE OF THESE, I’ll look through face book but they are either too expensive and high mileage, or to cheap but they have something wrong with it, and are also to far from me, if only I could Time travel and get me one of these

I know, I think im gonna get this as my first car
Great cars, just So. Damn. Ugly.
06 sle v6 bought used at 120k miles. Best car I've driven, quiet on roads, luxurious, etc.
I had a 2004 Solara for 6 years and it was hands down my favorite car. Even to this day. I miss it :(
dam... Did it break down or you had to sell it?

Since it is no longer made, Toyota needs to make a Camry Coupe. I don't want to spend money for a 86 or Supra for a Toyota Coupe.
Or you could get a used Scion fr-s
86 isn't that expensive

The second gen actually looked like it was designed by a Japanese designer, unlike most Japanese cars. Love it!
