Just beat the game for the first time yesterday, and I'm running through the DLCs now. Great game!! One thing I would say is to be careful with heavy armor. I went quite a ways into heavy armor until realizing how much it slows you down. Eventually, the armor won't slow you down when running if you reach a high enough skill, but I would highly recommend either dedicating some time to quick leveling it up, or just switch to light armor. The game has an 85 armor cap, and you can't go beyond that. By taking some time and playing until you get perk level 100, you will find that you should have no problem reaching that 85 cap regardless of the type of armor. While light armor degrades faster, you'll be weighed down for much longer going the heavy route.
When you do the imperial city market quest involving Thoronir, in the same room you loot Debaser, behind one of the statues, you will find Calibens Grim Retort, a mace that has many enchantments, one of which is absorb blunt. Its a beast against groups since it stacks with each target
I kinda wish Skyrim kept the Passive perk gain at each Skill Mastery Level while also having perks that can be earned at each level. That way when you get Level 25, 50, 75, or 100 it feels like an actual achievement.
Probably one of the biggest things I miss from Oblivion. Hitting 100 skill in Skyrim basically means nothing unless you have actually put perks into it.
@@JCDenton2000 Passive Perk Rank Rewards will be something I will always miss. As for things I’d like to be included, one thing I’d like to have altered a bit would be spells. With Spells, one thing that would be cool to balance them is to have a chance they can rebound against the user if the spell is above their current rank (while I believe a Novice shouldn’t be able to cast an Expert spell if they Drank 6 +100 Fortify Magicka, I don’t think they should be excluded from obtaining the spell until that point either). For example, let’s say a Novice has a lot of Magic or drank a lot of potions….enough to summon an Expert Summon. Because that spell is too advanced for them, there is a good chance that the creature they summon turns against them…or the weapon they conjure explodes and you take damage for trying to cast an Expert spell when you are a Novice. As you level up, the rebound % chance decreases until you reach the needed rank and at that point you have full control. Based on that, Masters will have a lock where only a Master can truly utilize the Master Spells while with a Novice they will always fail, an Apprentice will most likely fail (75%), an Adept will fail about half the amount of times (50%) and an expert will fail sometimes (25%). What about you? Are there things (skills, passive ranks, items, way quests are done, etc) you (or anyone who sees this comment) would like to see altered to balance it out better? This was an idea I literally just thought of off the top of my head and wanted to share it before I forgot it.
Yup I forgot about that, and now I m playing Oblivion again, I didn't even know you gain ability to roll like that at level 50 acrobatics. It is very cool.
you can gain 5 free levels of hand to hand by watching the arena aspirants training for a minute (I think there might be another skill you can do something similar like this but can't remember off the top of my head) to make enemies a little easier (and probably screw yourself over a bit lol) set your major skills as ones you're not likely to use unless you plan on maxing everything out it will keep your level and therefore the enemy's levels down, it will take you longer to max your favorite skills but it can balance out in the end and chameleon is better than invisibility because it doesn't break the second you have to scratch your ass lol
Just wanted to add, for players who have Infamy and can't restore attributes at a shrine, there are potions and spells that restore damaged attributes as well. :-) Thanks for the awesome vid!
Thanks so much for these oblivion tips! Im playing oblivion in 2024 and I am a newb player, i didn't know anything about oblivion until I watched this video! It's great!
1. The weight of potions depends on the ingredient(s) used when _first_ making one of that strength (always with new equipment; sometimes on increasing alchemy skill). For restore health (very useful during combat), boar meat + venison -> 2, while aloe vera + mugwort (for example) -> 0.1. 2. The Lewawiin Fighters Guild has 2 silver longswords, available to members foc. These are the best non-enchanted weapons you can get below about L6. 3. Join the Mages Guild and do the quests asap. Then, enchant several pieces of armour with Shield. 3x petty soul gems will give +18 armour for 1800GP; well worth having if you're in steel with rating 22. 4. Break the game by closing 4 Oblivion Gates at L13-16, and collect 4x Sigil Stones with 25% chameleon. Nothing will be able to hit you with weapons or spells, except by back-biting (e.g. clannfear and elemental atronachs). I usually choose to enchant the wristbands from the practice dungeon, a pair of leather trousers and 2 items of jewellery, so as to minimise weight and to show off my physique. 5. While in shadow (see #4), wale away at enemies with the rusty weapons you saved from the practice dungeon (which do minimal damage) for this purpose to improve your weapon skills at a phenomenal rate. When you're getting tired, use Absorb Fatigue for rapid increases in restoration. Likewise, if you're being back-bitten by a clannfear or the like, use Absorb Health.
You sir know this game well. However I don’t recommend breaking the game with chameleon, It defeats the challenge. I usually play this game at high difficulty 4/5 on the slider.
@@SseriousGgamer3 You can also get 100% chameleon from the Mages Guild if you've got 10k GP to spare. Yes it breaks the game, and destroys all fun; but it's proof of concept, following from the observation that partial chameleon isn't worth having. I dislike the way Bethesda implemented the difficulty slider, and keep it at 3. I didn't mention the other game-breaker, which works best at high difficulty and also ruins the game - recruit an immortal or two (eg Martin and Jauffre) and never complete their quest(s).
If you plan on using magic(which should literally be always) alteration, restoration, and mysticism are there to help you. Do not suffer by ignoring them. Use them, understand them, WORSHIP them! Your experience will be a thousand times better for doing so.
Did you play it? I avoided it for years due to lack of interest, especially after I played through Skyrim (because Skyrim is newer/better), but I recently got into Oblivion and am enjoying it. It's not nearly as good as Skyrim, IMO, but it is good and there are some things that are better. I found that some mods are essential to enjoy the game, such as choosing one that changes the leveling system so you can focus on playing rather than grinding skill levels.
@@samtnu6778 It's been a while since I've played so it's hard for me to answer that now. I'll look through my list and see what stands out for me. First, the unofficial patches are the obvious ones. After that: Real Retroactive Health Formula, Immersive Leveling, Balanced Creature Stats - Fixed Level Scaling, Auto Update Leveled Items And Spells, Soulgem Magic, Area Harvest - Gather Nearby Plant Clusters, Improved Athletics Leveling. Most others I have are just visual enhancements. The most beautiful housing mod I ever found is Fiddlers Green, if you'd like to look that up.
I noticed at 13:29 that you enchanted the mace incorrectly. Because of the games coding, it activates the enchantments from the top down. Weakness to an element will never affect the damage done by any elemental magic in the same cast of the spell, or same attack of a weapon. That is to say, you can't make a spell or weapon that combines weakness to fire and fire damage (for instance) and cast it once and get extra damage out of it. However, weakness to an element (if the duration is long enough) will affect the damage done in the NEXT cast of a spell or weapon, so if you make a spell that combines weakness to fire and fire damage and cast it twice in a row, the weakness will increase the fire damage on the SECOND cast. BUT. If weakness is first on the list, the second hit will NOT apply the bonus to fire damage, because you're overwriting the weakness with another stack of weakness, therefore you will never be doing the extra damage.
I really like the way they made the skills level up. It’s really easy to just grind out most of the magic skills. The main skill that’s hardest to level up seems to be sneak and marksman.
Sneak's not so bad; I just found an area with 2-3 bandits that don't really have a patrol route. Faced a wall, set autowalk on, then went to get a drink and a snack.
I had forgotten that Welkynd's recharge everything! Those Sigil stones are also a good way to increase the value of sale items which helps early on. I hit up the farms allot early to make restoration potions for early sale. Really helps for non/late thief builds. Thanks.
A few things that make enchanted weapons much better overall. When you enchant your weapon, do so by starting of with 2 seconds of soul trap. If you're also adding damage over time enchantments, make sure the soul trap time length is at least 2 seconds longer. This way, you never have to worry about soul trap separately, every strike will apply that first, before any other damage is done. The same applies when making spells. Lead off with soul trap. Once you get Azura's Star, you'll basically never run out of charges on your weapons. A very useful spell I used a lot was what I called Traveling. Apply as much fortify strength and feather as you can on self for 1 second, while still making the spell within your magicka limits. As soon as you cast, enter the menu to fast travel and head to your house, or a good shop. The effect timers pause when you enter a menu, so the bonus to your carrying capacity will still be there in the menu, and you'll be able to fast travel. You can get a few hundred extra carrying capacity long enough to fast travel. This was incredibly useful when dungeon clearing, as you can get all the loot back to your house or a shop in a few trips. I used the shop in Anvil as my shop, because he had a reasonable amount of gold, and it was fairly close to the town entrance.
With the sigil stones, you get more out of enchanting for fortify strength instead of feather points. Fortifying strength not only gives you a higher amount of increased carrying capacity. It also let you hit harder with weapons..
THIS is what I've been looking for! Other videos felt like they were giving more information than I wanted. This one feels mor like "I'm gonna just show you the ropes so you can have your own fun". Subscribing now.
Dont worry too much about "the levelling problem". Once you hit level 22 you will start getting game changing gear in random loot that will give you a massive edge in combat. Special mention to the mundane ring which halfs magic damage you take and reflects 35% of all melee damage back. The necklace of swords/amulet of axes and ring of the iron fist that all boost blade/blunt/hand to hand respectively by 25 points and each reflect 33% of all melee damage back. You can wear two rings in this game unlike skyrim which means you can combine any of the two necklaces amulets with a ring of the iron fist and mundance ring for total immunity from melee and half all magic damage. Bretons have a natural 50% magic resist which makes them totally immune from magic with this set Ring of perfection boosts every attribute by 10, which is a massive boost for any build, boosting carry weight, stamina, health, magicka, movement speed and skill effectiveness If you have the spell tome add on the tome "touch of death" will appear in necromancer loot chests at level 17, this spell is the best destruction spell in the game against high level enemies, draining health by 250 points for 3 seconds. Any enemies with less than 250 health will be instantly killed. This can be taken further with the weakness to magic spell, which combined with touch of death can boost the drain effectively to up to 500 health drain. More than enough to kill any enemy from full health other than minotaur lords in the end game, but you can just knock them around a bit before use touch of death
I remember the first time I played Oblivion I stayed up all night long wandering the wilds. 12 hours later my roommate comes home, I'm still playing, and he ask me why I don't just look at my map? I didn't know there was a map.
I've been watching MATN do an Oblivion playthrough and debating a run after my current Syrim play, thanks to BadCompanySarge getting me in again lol. He's struggled with some things you've explained nicely like the restoration training tip.
16:43 Also if you decide to make a weapon like this with weakness, don't do it like in the video, do it in reverse order ( elemental damage, elemental weakness and only then weakness to magick). Order of enchantments and effects in the spell matter, they apply from top to bottom. You may think that putting weaknesses in the beginning is the right choice, but that will only make your weapon/spell refresh the effects with each strike/cast. Doing it in the order I described will allow the weaknesses to stack exponentially to imsane numbers. But keep in mind that enchantment or spell like that will be very costly
JUST STARTED TO PLAY THIS GAME(Has been a game for a long time i wanted to get into, but for 1 or 2 reasons never done so until just this day) 1st problem was dropping stuf(ofcourse i could drag n drop, thats ok w 1 thing, but the shift n left mouse was much faster w alot of stuff) So the leveling up i didnt know at all+a few other things. Been thinking about modding this games graphics(found a pre modded game online, but didnt work,so next prob is steam version n mods+updates n other things, usually i always get recomended to use the GOG version of all games if i want to mod them for a reason or another i really dont know(mayb y due to the rdm free games mayby?) So great video for us older people that want to play games that once was new during my younger years, but never got into it due to 1 or the other thing(alot of that being no time, recently had alot of time due to sickness since the 1st covid that came n put me out for almost 1 year...aaargh n nasty Crap the covid...nothing i even would wish on my enemies(if i had any that is ofcourse) Thanks 4 video(so mayby next time will be little easier,or atleast i hope so)
I have a ritual I've been doing since 2000 , I play legend of draoon Halloween night and when im done usually a week later, I start a new oblivion playthrough that is done around December 20 , Christmas eve I start my annual fable lost chapters playthrough and that is how I spend my holiday season 😂
i dont know how everyone likes the LOCKPICKING but ive started playthrough not long ago and noticed that when lockpick hits the thing if it goes FAST you will fail if it goes up SLOW it will stick in place so keep an eye on it and you will be master of lockpicking. Auto-lock fails at Very Easy while im opening Very Hard locks without breaking any lockpick (most of the time) the principal is to see that how Slower and Faster lock thing moves and then youll get that to do better each time.
I did not realize they have facail animations for the persuasion wheel. I just thought it was a matter of guess and check to find the most optimal options
Also keep in mind that structurally this game is different than some other familiar ones. If you don't want to be constantly poor in this game, then constantly dungeon dive. When I first played the game I remember thinking how insane it was that the cheapest house completely furnished was 5000 gold. Later, I did a run where I dungeon dived constantly, and within a few days I had bought every house in the game and completely furnished them. There's a stupid amount of gold to be made if you play the game properly
If you're into efficient leveling and min-maxing, be aware that you can increase your base attributes past the 100 cap by using felldew withdrawal effects and the Oghma Infinium.
A warning to anyone who uses the feeldew exploit, ffs duplicate the felldew or open the membrane at the tree before eating it and running off. The elytra doesnt respawn at later levels
Yesterday I could play Oblivion for hours and it was the first time in years. The main problem is that I use Oblivion XP Update and it tends to break Oblivion if coupled with a UI mod, since I'm playing with the vanilla UI things are stable so far.
Could someone please tell me what to do about the creepiness of these dungeons, caves and ayleid ruins? How to make them look less uncanny/sinister and more comfortable to roam on? Is there some kind of mod that will not prevent me from playing this masterpiece?
In case you’re still looking, I like to have torches on a hotkey. They weigh 0, cost 0, can be found pretty much anywhere and require no investment into magic. Of course, light gear is good, but torches have been my best friend. I feel like they’re less needed in Skyrim but I still make use of them. Perhaps I’m one of the minority who does.
Is there also a Morrowind Edition? I wish I would've known I can make multiple Summon Creature spells to have multiple instances of the same creature. Right now I am having a good time playing as a Summoner to send my army of Daedra against my adversaries 😂
Warning to anyone who is going to be playing Oblivion on pc. The physics of the game are based on your frame rate. If you have high frames everything in the game runs faster and can skip dialogue. If your monitor has a refresh rate of 60 then Vsync with fix this. If you have a higher refresh rate you can find other ways to cap your frames. Or if you don’t care have fun playing the game in ultra speed
I believe the major majority of unique quest rewards are leveled unless you modded the game. Which means, they have stats based on your level when you receive them which makes them useless later.
@dra6o0n This applies exclusively to those relics. Nothing else in the game works that way unless you fix the issue with mods. Otherwise, all spells and almost all items you receive will come with stats based on the level you had at the time.
Get into the mages guild as quick as possible and learn invisibility spell. Get some decent soul gems and u can make a whole outfit where ur 100 percent invisible. Its basically a cheat code
Duplication glitch and it works on console. Make sure whatever you want to duplicate is at 1 in inventory (drop any additional) However many Scrolls you have,ex. 15 Chameleon Scrolls, in your inventory will be However many you will duplicate of the item. You double click the scroll Then go over to what you want duplicated and push the command to drop. Then 15 of that item will drop. Rinse and repeat.
Better Menu Controls might be something worth looking into: www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/48144 Searching 'control' on Nexus yielded lots of results too, if it's not.
Toggle Item Prompt, or something very similar in name, is perhaps my favorite mod. When holding a hotkey, you can quick sell/move/drop items without having to specify how many and confirm. It’s actually linked in the description of this video. If you need help installing, download the package, unzip it, put all the files into your “Data” folder in the oblivion directory. It’s been awhile but I think I changed my location for it, but the path for me is games/steam/steamapps/common/oblivion

1. what I like to do now is start as a Nord. (Yes I know Bretons are the best choice. But this is a god damn RPG and I already have 20 game completions as a Breton and I’m tired of it.” 2.To mitigate the nords lack of magic, I perma enchant him early with +100 mágika. (Only time I cheat, i don’t like cheating, no duplication, no 100% chameleon.) 3. I play the game on hard (I call it hard because it’s 4/5 on the difficulty slider. I feel this is the best feel for a good challenge. 4. Exist the sewers and immediately head to skingrad and join the mages guild. Do the quest and sell all the alchemy tools in the guild for gold. 5. When I was a casul i used to play with longsword and shield. But now I use a war hammer because it has the longest reach and knock back power. Secondly I don’t need a shield because I focus on not getting hit anyway. 6. conjuration will spawn an ally that will serve as a tank and distraction while you wale your heavy ass war hammer on enemies from the side. 7. Make sure to use feather spells to run faster 8. Enchant your amor with shield, it’s really strong
@@akunformalitas make the skills you don't use your major skills. eg blunt, heavy, block, sneak, marksman, hand & security. That way you have more control of when you level 😅
Ultra settings of course! I recorded these on my 1440p display and rendered as such to prevent major compression on UA-cam. The mods in the description might've helped a bit too.
@@6StimuL84 Well that could be the problem because I'm mostly focused on mayors skills. I actually did get +4 once when I was leveling restoration and illusion. Currently focused on getting restoration to 100 so I could craft buffing spells.
thing is that if you want to min max your character leveling, you need to take primary skills that are easily to control to level up. so if you are focusing on restoration. dont get it above 10 points per level before you level up two different corresponding attribute skills 10 times@@ivanvoloder8114 so restrain yourself from using restoration that much until you get two non primary skills to level up 10 points. thats what trainers are here for
A tip i wish i woulda known is that the martin guy can die before you see him and therefore end the main game it seems cuz i dont have a save from before that couldve happened. N so i have no main quests i can do and i cant further that one and im not spending half my real day finding only side quests thatll take 5 minutes to do
He is marked as essential I believe, feel free to correct me though. This means he shouldn’t be able to die. If you’re on PC and have done anything with console commands it’s possible you removed his essential status, or it could be that before the quest he is simply not essential. Either way, it’s unfortunate to lose a file! I’d recommend guild quests as they’re (for me) enjoyable and take longer than random quests you find.
You must be insane to sell out Varla Stone. Only enchanted weapons can deal any proper damage on higher levels of difficulty. For easy money just do Arena, or hunt down ayleid statues quest it's around 10K or more depending on your factions.
One of the first tips I give players is that you shouldn't use the vanilla leveling system, that you should use a mod like Oblivion XP, as it solves so many issues with the game, and that if you insist on using using it, at least use a mod like All +5 Attributes to make it a little less tedious. Also, one other MUST HAVE mod for me is: Sigil Stone Selector. It lets you just select the stone you want, so you don't have to play the save/reload game, that you're going to play anyway.
because enemies scale with your level. and items you find are also scaled at your level you will never deal lots of damage. you will maybe find some bad ass weapon at one level, but once you level up you dont encounter goblins anymore but minotaurs and the weapon you found previous level is suddenly crap you can however gradually reduce difficulty when enemies become damage sponges.
An alternative to what the previous person’s comment said, efficient leveling is quite helpful. Tedious, perhaps, but leveling that way generally nullifies the need to reduce the difficulty. There are mods that make it easier, I don’t use them so I can’t recommend any, unfortunately. Oblivion’s scaling is somewhat notorious for being poorly designed, but I still find a lot of enjoyment in all aspects of the game, including leveling. It is a grind though.
Useless information, get any two scrolls press on them in your inventory, then press left shift to drop items let's say on the Namira's ring, then you have two Namira's rings, equip one of them then again press on two scrolls and press on unequiped Namira's ring and you get the ststs permanent, *works with rings mostly Beat the mages guild get the enchanting table, enchant ring, and repeat same action, you are godlike while you are level 1
I really don’t like the progression mechanics. It’s one of the reasons i only played it for 20 hours when it came out and then abandoned it until now. (The other reason was Oblivion Gates ughh.) MOD TIME
Just started getting into the older TES games, and this really helped me out. If you wanted to do one for Morrowind I would be thrilled, Caedo.
Im going to write down my list of what i do in morrowind to get pretty OP in the start of the game
1 get the key from behind the imperial guy to who you give your papers (will require some sneak) or steal it open your inventory really fast, drop the key, get arrested and pick it up later, you can use this in the character making to get the limeware platter which is valued at 650 gold
2 use the key on the seyda neen legion store house to get imperial gear, skooma, moon sugar and other loot, sell to arile after giving the healing key to fargoth or whatshiname i dont remember( you can get the ring, gold and a better lockpick by talking to a guy upstairs of arriles tradehouse and doing his quest) the skooma and moon sugar can be sold to Rarr in balmora, who can be killed for only a bounty of 40 which is good because he has weapons that can summon daedric weapons, a spear, a long sword and two daggers
3 find the tax collector and falling wizard north of seyda neen, you can google it, i also recommend getting the mentors ring google it too its easy to get
4 clear out the dungeon to the left of seyda neen its a small cave with 3 enemies and slaves that you can free, theres some moon sugar and skooma there that you can sell
5 Join the mages and fighters guild and use the mages guild to travel to other guilds fighter and mages guilds ( theyre always close to each other) and take the potions from the supply chests and sell the ones you dont need
6 In caldera ( there isnt a fighters guild there) you can take armor and weapons from guard towers and sell them to creeper who is located in a house full of orks if you search around you will find its across the street from the guard towers closet to balmora, creeper has a lot of gold and buys all armor and weapons, upstairs in the house where creeper is an ork is standing next to a box with orcish pauldorns, greaves and chestplate, orcish is a pretty good armor set you can take without getting a bounty so good, theres a guy in full orcish set in a shrine in the severs of the vivec city idk which sector
5 in the ald-ruhn temple there is a closet with spears that have an underwater breathing enchantment and an ebony shield of protection (very good)
Meanwhile I'm struggling through daggerfall

For example, let’s say a Novice has a lot of Magic or drank a lot of potions….enough to summon an Expert Summon. That’s what the way better perk system is for
Nah L take
Just restarted after almost a decade. This was a huge help! Thank you, sir!
you can gain 5 free levels of hand to hand by watching the arena aspirants training for a minute (I think there might be another skill you can do something similar like this but can't remember off the top of my head) to make enemies a little easier (and probably screw yourself over a bit lol) set your major skills as ones you're not likely to use unless you plan on maxing everything out it will keep your level and therefore the enemy's levels down, it will take you longer to max your favorite skills but it can balance out in the end
and chameleon is better than invisibility because it doesn't break the second you have to scratch your ass lol
You can also watch the Blades training
Just wanted to add, for players who have Infamy and can't restore attributes at a shrine, there are potions and spells that restore damaged attributes as well. :-) Thanks for the awesome vid!
Also shrines are still usable if you Fame is greater than Infamy. Knights of the Nine has a repeatable (but lengthy) quest to remove your Infamy.
Thanks so much for these oblivion tips! Im playing oblivion in 2024 and I am a newb player, i didn't know anything about oblivion until I watched this video! It's great!
I completed "The Collector," thanks to your video. Whew!
Some of the Ayleid ruins were not on Umbacano's list. So glad you provided the complete list.
I have been playing Oblivion for YEARS, but did not know everything you presented. So, thank you. I wish I had read this a long time ago. ;-]
@@mikesummers-smith4091what is GP sir?

If you plan on using magic(which should literally be always) alteration, restoration, and mysticism are there to help you.
Do not suffer by ignoring them. Use them, understand them, WORSHIP them! Your experience will be a thousand times better for doing so.
but mys is garbage?
Legit started my third attempt at actually finishing a playthrough in this game. Perfect timing!

Oblivion It's my favourite game ever. Every time I play I found new things.. still in 2024.. its fucking crazy!!!
I’ve actually been contemplating finally playing TES:IV that I bought for my PC! Thanks Caedo! We love your content!
@@ClassicalPancould you drop the essential mods' names? I hate grindy games I'm just here to have fun.
The varla stones can also fully recharge the enchanted weapon you're holding
I really like the way they made the skills level up. It’s really easy to just grind out most of the magic skills. The main skill that’s hardest to level up seems to be sneak and marksman.
Sneak's not so bad;
I just found an area with 2-3 bandits that don't really have a patrol route.
Faced a wall, set autowalk on, then went to get a drink and a snack.
Sneak & archery are my favorite skills😊 so gratifying
For sneak just go into a 2 story hotel with people in, hide and go into sneak mode and hold down the movement button
I get water walking and skip over the lava to get to the main tower in Oblivion gates
Bretons have a natural 50% magic resist which makes them totally immune from magic with this set
Ring of perfection boosts every attribute by 10, which is a massive boost for any build, boosting carry weight, stamina, health, magicka, movement speed and skill effectiveness
If you have the spell tome add on the tome "touch of death" will appear in necromancer loot chests at level 17, this spell is the best destruction spell in the game against high level enemies, draining health by 250 points for 3 seconds.
So, hold block while casting or sneaking. INTERESTING
Just went back to Oblivion playing with the Heartland modpack. Thanks for the tips!
From Fallout NV to Oblivion. Cadeo Genesis I freaking love you
I've been playing for a week and wondering why I'm not leveling up🙄🙄🙄... didnt know I had to sleep🥴🥴
You can tell when you can level up from an icon next to your compass.
I remember the first time I played Oblivion I stayed up all night long wandering the wilds. 12 hours later my roommate comes home, I'm still playing, and he ask me why I don't just look at my map? I didn't know there was a map.
@@KaptainTorres 😂 I’m sure that we’ve all done things like that, in games that we weren’t yet familiar with…..
I tried to but kept getting interrupted by some cloaked Imperial. Ohhh, "there's a man who wronged the Night Mother" no one cares, orphan.

I have a ritual I've been doing since 2000 , I play legend of draoon Halloween night and when im done usually a week later, I start a new oblivion playthrough that is done around December 20 , Christmas eve I start my annual fable lost chapters playthrough and that is how I spend my holiday season 😂
Good to know there are only 60 Oblivion gates that show up, I was going to just run through them. Save exploit for the win.
Been 10 years for me played skyrim ad new vegas and fallout 4 now I'm fully equipped to replay it correctly lol
1:40 seeing only 57 Endurance at level 16 gave me slight anxiety. Don‘t you get one hit killed by everything at that point?
It's why mid-maxing at level 3 is important as mobs and bosses will mirror or double your stats against you.
Oblivion is the Ultimate Dungeon Synth game. Very fun
i dont know how everyone likes the LOCKPICKING but ive started playthrough not long ago and noticed that when lockpick hits the thing if it goes FAST you will fail if it goes up SLOW it will stick in place so keep an eye on it and you will be master of lockpicking. Auto-lock fails at Very Easy while im opening Very Hard locks without breaking any lockpick (most of the time) the principal is to see that how Slower and Faster lock thing moves and then youll get that to do better each time.
Duplicate lock picks and then keep pressing auto pick while picking the lock
That's the way. Free skill points too @@sweetjones8509
Or get the Skelton Key at lvl 5
Great mod on the nexus for making silver items you find as clutter in house actually have move value so it’s really cool for thief role play.
I did not realize they have facail animations for the persuasion wheel. I just thought it was a matter of guess and check to find the most optimal options
Silver weapons are great against ghost and so on.
Encumbrance stopping you dead rather than just slowing you down is a big one.
Considering healing diseases: the easiest way is to just eat raw mandragora, since it will have the same effect as a potion, but much easier to find.
I miss alot of the oblivion features like armor encumbrance effecting spells, weapon and armor condition and spell crafting.
But only athletics and acrobatics benefit from past 100
Yesterday I could play Oblivion for hours and it was the first time in years. The main problem is that I use Oblivion XP Update and it tends to break Oblivion if coupled with a UI mod, since I'm playing with the vanilla UI things are stable so far.
Could someone please tell me what to do about the creepiness of these dungeons, caves and ayleid ruins? How to make them look less uncanny/sinister and more comfortable to roam on? Is there some kind of mod that will not prevent me from playing this masterpiece?
Mods? you can cast "light" spells like "candle light", or wear armor with light enchantments; nighteye also defeats darkness... take care 🙏
I used to feel that way too, but now I appreciate the way the dungeons are for some reason.
Knights of the nine added auto leveling if you store those relics in a stand ... Repairs, refills, and levels to ur lv.
@dra6o0n This applies exclusively to those relics. Nothing else in the game works that way unless you fix the issue with mods. Otherwise, all spells and almost all items you receive will come with stats based on the level you had at the time.

-Auto Haggle
-Sigil Stone Selector
-Ultimate Leveling
Get into the mages guild as quick as possible and learn invisibility spell. Get some decent soul gems and u can make a whole outfit where ur 100 percent invisible. Its basically a cheat code
Duplication glitch is the best. It's never detracted from the games fun, and yes it works on console too
Duplication glitch and it works on console. Make sure whatever you want to duplicate is at 1 in inventory (drop any additional)
However many Scrolls you have,ex. 15 Chameleon Scrolls, in your inventory will be However many you will duplicate of the item.
You double click the scroll
Then go over to what you want duplicated and push the command to drop.
Then 15 of that item will drop.
Rinse and repeat.
For skills pick the ones you use the most as minor skills and the ones you use the least as major
Better yet choose ones that are easy to control manually for major skills, and choose one for each attribute

Gosh I LOVED this game.
Is there any mods to minimize button clicks in Oblivion? I'm a keyboard person and tend to avoid mouse clicks on everything except for combats only.
Better Menu Controls might be something worth looking into: www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/48144
Searching 'control' on Nexus yielded lots of results too, if it's not.

But this is a god damn RPG and I already have 20 game completions as a Breton and I’m tired of it.”
2.To mitigate the nords lack of magic, I perma enchant him early with +100 mágika. (Only time I cheat, i don’t like cheating, no duplication, no 100% chameleon.)

Ultra settings of course! I recorded these on my 1440p display and rendered as such to prevent major compression on UA-cam. The mods in the description might've helped a bit too.
Enemy HP scaling is nuts btw...
Lv15 has strong enemies around 150-250 hp.
And it gets worse at 30?
Every time I leveled up I never got +5. In my case it was allways +2 and +3.
Need to work more minor skills to ten then.....
@@6StimuL84 Well that could be the problem because I'm mostly focused on mayors skills. I actually did get +4 once when I was leveling restoration and illusion. Currently focused on getting restoration to 100 so I could craft buffing spells.
thing is that if you want to min max your character leveling, you need to take primary skills that are easily to control to level up.
so if you are focusing on restoration. dont get it above 10 points per level before you level up two different corresponding attribute skills 10 times@@ivanvoloder8114
so restrain yourself from using restoration that much until you get two non primary skills to level up 10 points.

Thanks bro

I got a XP mod but it absolutely broke early game pacing due to a skill pts reauirement. Vanilla gets easier lv ups.
You must be insane to sell out Varla Stone. Only enchanted weapons can deal any proper damage on higher levels of difficulty. For easy money just do Arena, or hunt down ayleid statues quest it's around 10K or more depending on your factions.
Now I know how to use my skillpoints😂
A cato my little yellow friend
One of the first tips I give players is that you shouldn't use the vanilla leveling system, that you should use a mod like Oblivion XP, as it solves so many issues with the game, and that if you insist on using using it, at least use a mod like All +5 Attributes to make it a little less tedious. Also, one other MUST HAVE mod for me is: Sigil Stone Selector. It lets you just select the stone you want, so you don't have to play the save/reload game, that you're going to play anyway.
I tried to play this game and dropped after 30 minutes, maybe i will try again
Stick with it, the game is amazing
Try out Dark Brotherhood quest.
dupe glitch is your friend, don't be scare of using it
Can anyone tell me where can I find the dungeon shown here in which we can find gems
You yield by pressing E!? I thought it was just blocking at people!
hey how do i increase my dmg in oblivion i am currently lvl 9 and somehow i am not dealing much dmg. why is that??
because enemies scale with your level. and items you find are also scaled at your level
you will never deal lots of damage. you will maybe find some bad ass weapon at one level, but once you level up you dont encounter goblins anymore but minotaurs and the weapon you found previous level is suddenly crap
you can however gradually reduce difficulty when enemies become damage sponges.
If you are stat maxing, increase endurance +5 at every level first and foremost. Health increases at level up based on your endurance stat
