The way you describe the path to Hatred's Soul/Heart really makes me realise what the Hero of Kvatch went through, having to close all those portals, almost all the time by themselves. The dragonborn may be strong, and the nerevarine may be immortal, but the Hero of Kvatch has got to be the bravest, to delve into Oblivion itself over and over
Dragonborn: I slayed Alduin the World eater, Killed Miraak the first Dragonborn, and Killed an ancient falmer vampire, and I can destroy anything you throw at me by just yelling at you. Nerevarine: I destroyed the Sharmat Dagoth Ur and saved the land from the corprus disease, I also fulfilled the bloodmoon prophecy and killed the Tribunal Almelexia fulfilling the Nerevarine prophecy, there is no disease, or poison that can kill me and I am immortal. Hero of Kvatch: I am literally just a normal dude who stopped the gaping jaws of oblivion from destroying Cyrodiil, became the second coming of the divine crusader stopping another Aylied dynasty as well as killing Umaril the unfeathered permanently, then I mantled the mad god Sheogorath, stopping the daedric prince Jyggalag and the Greymarch. I think we can all agree that while two here have done many things and saved the world, one really carried the whole of mundus and oblivion on their back.
The way the Hero of Kvatch acted doesn't exactly fit the idea of bravery. They had Lucien Lachance (based on the people he previously picked it takes more than just murder to get his attention) actively keeping an eye on them as a candidate for the Dark Brotherhood after escaping from a very long prison sentence (although Valen Dreth might not be a trustworthy source of information about the length of the hero's sentence), they were oddly familiar with laws about necrophilia AND graverobbing (it comes up in dialogue with an alchemist in Skingrad and in the journal durring a side quest in the Imperial City), they became a stand-in to continue the legacy of the exceptionally violent mentally unstable legendary warrior known as Pelinal Whitestrake (who had unusual anatomy, uncanny knowledge of future events, went on crazed rampages, and made references to knowledge not usually known to the sane), then there's the fact that the hero willingly entered the madhouse that is the Shivering Isles, and most telling of all is the fact that Lord Sheogorath happily accepted the hero. (Also the hero is unaffected by magical fear from demoralizing spells/effects, but that's for gameplay reasons) Bravery wouldn't get someone into the Shivering Isles... Things like delusions of invincibility and macabre or dangerous obssessions might be enough though Depending on circumstances, going into Mehrunes Dagon's realm to fight could be considered brave or selfless by the standards of various cultures of Tamriel but going into Shegorath's would not be. There's multiple cautionary tales across Tamriel about the consequences of having anything to do with Sheogorath and even a few about the risks one takes in underestimating someone he favors. It's a widely held notion that for the sake of sanity and one's continued health, Sheogorath and those touched by him should be treated with caution or avoided. Even in the Shivering Isles, the phrase "they dance a little too close to Lord Sheogorath" is a way of calling someone foolish or irrational. That context could show why the Hero of Kvatch's decisions and thought processes might have been consistently irrational enough for them to be able to mantle Sheogorath. Funnily enough this likely annoyed Meridia and Mehrunes Dagon since it means Sheogorath (now having been the Hero of Kvatch) can now truthfully talk about personally defeating their minions and during Skyrim mentions directly witnessing the Oblivion Crisis when talking to the Dragonborn.
@@__jonbud______________________ personally I think going into Sheogorath's realm is brave in itself. It's entirely possible that THoK entered with the intention of closing it like they had closed other oblivion gates, as this is a gate to yet another oblivion realm. Ultimately the reason behind it remains to the player, as does the knowledge of necrophilia, if they're a murderer or not, etc. Personally the only things I consider main characters in elder scrolls games to have canonically done are the main quests of the base game and DLCs. As to why THoK became Sheogorath, without a God the realm would have been destroyed, causing a massive imbalance among the Gods, he keeps a lot of them in check with his shenanigans. THoK could also have been going crazy at the time as simply being in the realm too long causes madness, but ultimately I think their intentions were always good. They were a normal, probably Imperial, person, who had done wrong in the past. The Emporer gives them a second chance, and they turn a new leaf as they get pulled into the plot to save the world. Camel I love your storytelling. So many people just vomit out top ten lists without actually caring about the content but you put in so much love and it shows.
I love all three 3D Elder Scrolls games, but for different reasons. Morrowind has crazy lore, otherworldly cultures and deep roleplay mechanics. Oblivion has this incredibly charming high fantasy setting with so many memorable characters and moments. Skyrim has this vast landscape that is super fun to explore.
I've got fond memories of the Mace of Doom. I brought it with me to the Defense of Bruma quest where you open the great gate. A single swing killed Martin and the entire platoon I'd brought with me.
Try playing morrowind on repeat constantly with mormon parents who wouldn't allow you access to the internet. Yeah I learned alot on my own in that game. Granted I went to the library a lot to learn exploits when I was younger but still haha
I use to pay the fucking library 3$ for an hour of internet just to learn exploits haha. They literally charged you just to get on to the internet so I would cut lawns just to access the internet haha
I'm guessing that Calliban's Grim Retort had frost damage and absorbed strength/blunt skills because a grim retort such as his would likely be quite the cold and blunt response.
Honorable mention to the Hill of Suicides unmarked quest, that was so much fun for me to discover when I first played it, and the reward is really cool
Please don't ever stop making your two hour long Elder Scrolls videos - I love them. It's also interesting how much of this stuff you'd never find just by virtue of risk/reward. Like the chest in the arena - most containers just sitting around in the Imperial City aren't going to have much in them. They give a pretty low yield. So you'd NEVER think it was worth it to go for a really difficult theft when you don't think there's going to be anything of value in there. Probably just an iron sword or shield, as far as you know.
The serpents mouth chests drove me absolutely nuts, and when i FINALLY got the reward... well, i nearly threw it away right then and there. I only kept it because im a hoarder and couldn't justify tossing it after sooo many hours lost finding the P.O.S
Probably more likely is it drains their speed to 0. Any creature that has 0 speed is calmed and won't move or attack until it wears off. As undead are pretty slow anyway, I'd bet that's why the 30 speed drain is enough.
Why can't we get an oblivion anniversary edition? I'm honestly shocked Bethesda hasn't done this since oblivion was the game for them that went massive. Instead they makes skyrim 7 times...
@@C21H30O2Fr, I looked at a little snippet of Skyblivion not long ago and seeing Imperial City with Skyrim graphics almost made me shed a tear. That’s the dream.
Oblivion has been one of my most favorite games of all time and I had logged over a thousand hours of gameplay in it during high school. I only knew of and collected 5 of your 10 items (or sets thereof) on display in your video here. What a trip through memory lane this video was, especially with your masterful literary guidance.
My first play through of oblivion when I was a kid, I was a very exploratory child and actually found fin gleam on my first play through. A few days ago I actually found the circlet of omnipotence by pure accident. The rest on this list are good to know about, and I’ll definitely have to check it out.
Oblivion was on of my first games that I just fell in love with when I was like 8 when it came out. I really appreciate the time and effort you put into these. I recently started another play through after a while and so many good memories are coming back. I still can remember where chest are or where to go even after years
I love oblivion. I remember spending hours in this game. I knew id never find every secret but to know I missed out on these items makes me even more satisfied at the world the devs built. They meticulously crafted a vast world for us to explore
10 year old me couldn't understand why my dad didn't like this game. I played it a bunch. I wasn't very good at it and didn't get a bunch done, but it was my favorite game at the time.
By Isthmir's Beard, my newly-begun playthrough will be more epic than any before! You are a poet. "Pyroclastic flows lapping at our very toes..." It flows. Well done.
The first time I played oblivion was at my friend's house when I was a kid around when it first came out. The first thing he made me do was go to dive rock to get the bow and have that as a house, then get umbra lmao. And we would ALWAAAAYS bring the adoring fan over there to launch him off the cliff lmao
I always explore in the Oblivion gates lol some of the best loot I’ve ever gotten I found there. Also, there’s a unique-looking “Blood Potion” just laying on the ground in one of the Oblivion maps. It doesn’t do anything but it does have a pretty cool appearance
Waits a month gets a 2 hour video... I love you camel!!! As you've done a little oblivion content maybe you would consider doing some oblivion detective? Your video about Hackdirts the best!!
I also find Calliben’s Grim Retort to be a retort back at Agarmir. Agarmir gathers a bunch of rather mundane things for Thoronir, meanwhile Calliben has the “last word” by hiding something sooo valuable right under his nose. It’s almost like Calliben was rooting for the player - and I’m sure he dreamed that the player would use his weapon to kill Agarmir!
I'm not familiar with Bloodmoon, I'm assuming they do something to keep people like me from putting on their constant levitating boots and walking up there?
"Dude, I've sunk thousands of hours into ES 3&4, there's nothing you can't tell me that I don't already AAAAAAAAAHHHHHH" (trips and falls down the bottomless pit that is Elder Scrolls lore)
I remember the first character I played was a Kajhit who had both detect life and night vision as permanent enchantments. Or he was a vampire who can cast detect life. Either way, the combination is VERY useful!
One that was left out of the video is the Yellow team's arena raiment. If you collect enough paintbrushes (and I mean a lot) you can bet on a match, use your paint brushes to get over the invisible barrier where you view the fight from and you can actually get down to the arena floor and loot or kill the yellow team combatant to get their raiment. But you will need enough paintbrushes to make your way back up top as you can't fast travel out. I used to do this on Xbox and it was so neat having an item like that.
I know this is late but damn that is cool, I didn’t know that. I also remembered you could beat the main storyline within 40 minutes if you go straight to imperial city to get as many paintbrushes as you can, then go to a certain building in imperial city (I forgot I was a kid) and climb your way up to the roof and phase thru the roof to see a door that leads you to the final cutscene where Muhrune Dagon is defeated. It was neat to do that. I swear glitches in Elder Scrolls make the game more enjoyable most of the time.
@@Ziiphyr Man I remember watching someone do that on youtube, it was one of the first youtube videos I ever watched, good times. I remember watching a video about someone who had a mod installed with flaming armor and as a dumb kid I thought it was actually in the game so I searched up and down for it lmao. I definitely agree though, glitches like that give a game soul.
Heyy look at that its almost like hes giving his opinion on a discovering and evaluating series one that promotes his personal experience for a game that inspires role play fantasy
@@ryueldragonborn4145 nah, he does this everywhere and it's understandable because if he didn't do it, the clips would be much much shorter and many of them would be completely unviable because of that
This is why I, to this very day, always say “oblivion is the game that really taught me how to play an RPG/Game!!” It wasn’t until my third restart from scratch that I created a character I was extremely proud of(Khajiit) and had learned enough about the game to be able to go through and keep all my stats under check at all times as well as be able to find and loot everything!! I mean, there was a few things in this video that I missed but, when I played this game in 2009 I have to say that I got most of them!! I’m still trying to see if there is a “soul tomato“ in Skyrim also? Haven’t found it if there is? Love Oblivion!!!
@@turismofoegaming8806 hey I see your comment is rather new so I’ll answer your question. As of now yes there are soul tomatoes in Skyrim. They were added by the mod (which is now given out with the game for free as added content) Saints and Seducers. It’s a blast to play too. The soul tomatoes are found on an alter in one of their camps IIRC. Also, the final battle is in the solitude sewers and is modeled to look *exactly* like shivering isles. The creator knocked it out of the park.
From my own testing, the hoe weapon seems unable to do anything at base, other than the contracting ticklebritch effect, i could never get any disease on enemies despite the fact that it should have a 100 percent chance to do this The only way i was able to fix this is through adding the enchantment (something along the lines of dl9enlosthoe) to the weapon dl9losthoe weapon in the construction set, after this the weapon obtained a unique effect that has 20000 charges, but was also rechargeable, prior to this change the weapon had no effect, even in the construction set
That is one filthy slutty disease-spreading hoe. That hoe dosn't cost much, but the second you lay your hands on it, you know that hoe is gonna be nasty.
You should have included on how to acquire the Boots of Springheel Jak permanently! Normally they get destroyed near the end of the final thieves guild quest line. Most items in your list are junk/trash not worth time and effort, however having a +50 bonus to acrobats for the rest of the game is insanely good. The only problem is that you wont be able to drop them.
This game..wow. Dad kept trying to convince me (as a 8 year old) we should try it. Kept getting CoD and eventually in 2010 we got the game and fell in love with the series. Made alot of awesome memories with my father playing this game.
Ya know...I think the Hoe is the only way, in just about any game, to actually USE diseases against enemies...and I really wish that was an option more often in this series
I’m replaying Oblivion right now so of course I came to your channel to look for guides, secrets, unique items, and Easter eggs! Not to my surprise, you had exactly what I was looking for and more!! You rock!!
I love the Blackwater Blade. At high levels, it's as good as damaging as Umbra, the design is cool, and the drain endurance effect can floor enemies before they are killed.
Nice to see the Mace of Doom made it into the list. I always felt like I had found something forbidden when I'd found it. Good thing to note, is that the Sigil Keep that he was in has a Sigil Stone that you activate and gives you an enormous amount of them all at once. So I suggest you activate it and drop down and activate the door asap to stop the effect (or have TONS of potions of feather) and then leave. Trust me. You'll get over-encumbered faster than you can say "oh shit" As for Andreas Draconis, I always preferred walking up to him, telling him that his mother bled like a pig, and watching him lose his mind and attack, only for the nearby Legion solider to see this as an attack at me and kill him. Ah. I do love making people do my dirty work for me.
He has the Character Overhaul V2 installed. I can tell cause I use it too. It's amazing. Only thing is, it turns Adoring Fan into a fuckboi rather than the yellow dorito. But there's a mod exclusively to fix that, if it bothers you.
I randomly found the ebony warrior very early in my first playthrough ever when the game launched. I scummed the shit out of that save and pulled all my tricks to kill that lady and take that gear, i couldnt believe i got that set of armor and sword. It was the coolest shit ever and i said hell no clavicus, im keeping this blade.
I was waiting for the Ayleid weapons to appear on this list. I was able to obtain them on one of my playthroughs. A weapon you're not intended to obtain through usual means is a nice treasure indeed.
First time I played I raw-dogged the "old key to a key" thing and found the Circlet of Omnipotence without any help. Bua ha ha. Also, continuing with the Dark Brotherhood questline eventually sends you back to Applewatch Farm so it's actually likely that most players will find the gravestones & Celia's sword.
I found the first secret items when I was about 11, I didn’t realize the mission to do all the oblivion gates was optional so I started it, I had always been a explorative person (this was my first Elder scrolls game btw) and I remember turning around and seeing the tower and wanting to find a way inside, so when I found the path leading away into the lava I simple just walked aimlessly till I accidentally came upon the door, I remember dying like 7 times to the 2 dremora (I didn’t know how to change difficulty at the time) before finally killing them, I also remember vividly using the Mace extensively to the point to where it broke and I couldn’t repair it and dropping the bow and arrows bc they weighed to much
I'm sitting here relaxing, putting models together, and listening to stuff I missed. Can't believe I played this game for so many damn years and didn't find even half of this. Wild.
The items were interesting but your script and detailed description of the locations, and the adventures you detail to reach the actual items are really what I like most about this video.
The time and effort you put in your videos keeps impressing me. I Always learn something new and it's fun to watch. No doubt a great example / inspiration for other creators too.
Camel I've been watching you for a while now and I never get bored of watching these videos. Perhaps I'm a nerd and love me my Elder Scrolls but the way you present this videos is incredible. Definitely one of my favorite UA-cam channels

You always do that...
Yeah you can really tell you are stretching the content to get to 10 minutes

By the Nine! This IS the Amulet of Kings! Who are you? How did you get this? What do you know of the Emperor's death?

As unlikely as your story sounds, I believe you. Only the strange destiny of Uriel Septim could have brought you to me carrying the amulet of kings

I think that you'll find that there are a few weaponized hos in Anvil. Hang out in the bar and you'll find them.
Great reference.
Just ask Gogan. He knows all about them hoes.
*CITY BOOIIIII !! CITY BOIIII !*
The screams of people and Daedra coming from the gates that lead to the Hatred’s weapons is just terrifying. Still creeps me out to this day.
The serpents mouth chests drove me absolutely nuts, and when i FINALLY got the reward... well, i nearly threw it away right then and there. I only kept it because im a hoarder and couldn't justify tossing it after sooo many hours lost finding the P.O.S
You are not alone
I don't know how anyone found them without using online guide maps. Even then it wasn't easy.
Hatreds Heart also seems to have a hidden enchantment. It calms undead of any level as long as it has charge
thats pog
Probably more likely is it drains their speed to 0. Any creature that has 0 speed is calmed and won't move or attack until it wears off. As undead are pretty slow anyway, I'd bet that's why the 30 speed drain is enough.
Why can't we get an oblivion anniversary edition? I'm honestly shocked Bethesda hasn't done this since oblivion was the game for them that went massive. Instead they makes skyrim 7 times...
They will just wait for skyblivion. Let the fans do their work.

Very minor correction: the Oblivion gates for the other cities in allies for Bruma already open before you start the quest.

In respect to Dive Rock, it is a fantastic place to launch The Adoring Fan from with an appropriately placed arrow.
The one time in Oblivion when you would like to be the Dragonborn
But i always found an uppercut with a greathammer to be the most satisfying way to launch him
The first time I played oblivion was at my friend's house when I was a kid around when it first came out.

Sorcerer's Ring and Mundane Ring are 2 of the most powerful rings in the game. Even combined with spell drinker amulet (highest leveled amulet).

No shame in it. The fact you've played so much and still discovered new things just means they did a good job.

It wasn’t until my third restart from scratch that I created a character I was extremely proud of(Khajiit) and had learned enough about the game to be able to go through and keep all my stats under check at all times as well as be able to find and loot everything!!
From my own testing, the hoe weapon seems unable to do anything at base, other than the contracting ticklebritch effect, i could never get any disease on enemies despite the fact that it should have a 100 percent chance to do this
The only way i was able to fix this is through adding the enchantment (something along the lines of dl9enlosthoe) to the weapon dl9losthoe weapon in the construction set, after this the weapon obtained a unique effect that has 20000 charges, but was also rechargeable, prior to this change the weapon had no effect, even in the construction set
Could you make a mod for that and upload it to the nexus?
That is one filthy slutty disease-spreading hoe. That hoe dosn't cost much, but the second you lay your hands on it, you know that hoe is gonna be nasty.
I seen this uploaded hours ago but I was working but I'm on my break now and I have a cup of tea. I am ready

Pro tip if you know how to utilize the duplication glitch you can have as many hatreds soul arrows as you want.
You should have included on how to acquire the Boots of Springheel Jak permanently! Normally they get destroyed near the end of the final thieves guild quest line. Most items in your list are junk/trash not worth time and effort, however having a +50 bonus to acrobats for the rest of the game is insanely good. I love the Blackwater Blade. At high levels, it's as good as damaging as Umbra, the design is cool, and the drain endurance effect can floor enemies before they are killed.
2 hours of oblivion backround music? I‘m in
Holy shit I actually found the first one back in the day! I‘m impressed with my younger self.
Trust me. You'll get over-encumbered faster than you can say "oh shit"
As for Andreas Draconis, I always preferred walking up to him, telling him that his mother bled like a pig, and watching him lose his mind and attack, only for the nearby Legion solider to see this as an attack at me and kill him. Ah. I do love making people do my dirty work for me.
My favorite method of killing as well! Well, other than an arrow.
