It's the more the consistency of your Daystate than the pellet weight that does the spreading. Climbing pellets and two left two right but almost in same hole. Compare the air pressure in the tube between the good and and bad groups. Common problem with PCP's, even with the regulated ones. Way to many moving parts that can be cause of that....Your best groups i'm able to shoot with my HW springers and i have never put a pellet on a scale. My unregulated AirArms S410 has a "sweet spot" and i almost put pellet on pellet within that pressure range and i only look if a pellet is damaged. The air volume and pressure of a springer air rifle will be always the same, and if you know how to shoot a quality springer they are as accurate and i even dare to say even more accurate than a lot of PCP's on the market. Last week i nailed 9 of 10 .22lr rimfire shells on 30 yards with my little HW30 springer with a 2-7X32 Airmax scope mounted, i could even decide if i hit them high or low. I absolutely don't need a PCP to do that, but it's way more easy to do it with a PCP but no challenge for me and in my opinion boring. On close range (up to 15 meters with flat heads) i do even outperform my S410 with my Diana mod.75 and FWB300S match springers from the eighties or any other quality pneumatic air rifle. Long range shooting ,50+ meters the PCP is absolutely in advance, at least if you're in a country that has no power restrictions. Cheers mate!
Hello Marno. I use Bicycleman on the GTA Forum. I enjoyed your demonstration. I have been using JSB pellets for about 10 years and find the accuracy satisfactory for hunting Squirrels in their natural habitat. I do sort my pellets by weight; and I also remove any damaged pellets I find. So it seems we agree that sorting is a benefit to accuracy. Thank you for a good video. -- Mike --
Good day sir long time no speak. Yes pellet sorting I believe is super important also with great results you will have much more confidence down range. After doing this test i must say i dont think i will use the pellets that gave me poor results even for hunting. I feel that it may lead to very poor shot placement. Really nice to hear from you have a great day
Great video I just picked up a used revere love the gun but it’s only putting out 23-24 fpe and the regulator is set at 150 bar What reg pressure is yours set at
Thanks Marno....Great informative video!!! I will never be in any competitions, but it will help in my understanding of accuracy. I wish you luck in your next event.
Great video Mr. Denner but I do not see any links to products, like the scope, in the description. Still really really helpful information. Please keep up the good work. Cheers from the desert SW USA!
HEADSIZE is likely the problem. For example, my .177 barrel likes 4.51mm head size , but if I shoot 4.53mm, my group at 25 yards opens up by about 1/2 inch. Remove all variables that you can if you want to shoot consistent groups that are very tight
Thank you for sharing. I think without a lead sled or rifle rest your results can be compromised. If your going to test for accuracy to the level you’re dealing with you really need to remove the possibility of human error a bit more. Overall I enjoy your work.
Great review, very interesting, I have used FX pellets for the last 3 years in my FX DreamTac and Daystate Mk4is, always had superb shot placement compared to other brands I have tried. 👍
I always find after cleaning my barrel that it can take 20+ shots to lead in. Also sweet spot pays a big part. For instance with my hft500 i fill to 170 and shoot 10 sighters, then move onto my card. And i get 250s and around 20x at 25yrds. But as you say each riffle is different (even the same make of rifle) other guys at my club using hft500 are filling to 180 / 190 and getting as good results as myself. I also found temperature can play a big part, a few weeks back it was red hot here in the UK and i shot at 18.00 hours indoors, and my shots were all over the place, even using my trusted go to pellet. once the temperature cooled down 2 weeks later i was back on form. Its all about learning your rifle sweet spot and what pellets it likes, before worrying about weighing pellets
Nice setup. Respectfully if you break form between shots your groups will always vary because your cheek pressure and position is constantly changing. When shooting a group only the loading hand should move. This will tighten up your already awesome groups.
Thank you yes to one degree I fully agree with you but i sure that will we part of a parallax error if the side focus is not spot on. But thanks for your comment I appreciate i also think that a scope cam can have an influence on groups but that can be a subject for another day
I went threw a bunch of pcp`s and still have a few, but my cheap skate Artemis P15 - Think the factory installed the wrong barrel, because after increasing the stock regulator pressure to 130, opening the transfer port and installing a power plenum, my groups are as your smallest group at 50 metres with unsorted 18gr jsb`s at 980fps.
Your first shot after cleaning (or traveling) with a gun is the cold bore shot, in some of my rifles it is always outside of the expected grouping. Then after things settled and the barrel is foweled with copper or lead, they group perfectly. Not much of an issue if you can take a few practice shots, more of something to be aware off if you are counting on that first shot while hunting
Good video. Also, your scope rings are about 1/2"-3/4" too high. Also, i wouldn't touch my mouth after handling lead. Heavy metal poisoning is a serious thing.
Are PCP’s inherently less accurate than Rimfire? I have 3 high end benchrest Rimfires, all my 5 shots groups are one hole, or a jagged hole, but always touching making 1 hole. I’ve binge watched literally over 500 pcp clips in the last month, I’m yet to see anyone shoot a decent Rimfire level group or score. I just bought the Skout Epoch, have tuned it, so can’t judge it yet, but it’s not shooting Rimfire groups
I have the Daystate Midas and Huntsman Buckmaster all limited editions oh I love them, super accurate.

I have the same carrying thingy on my airgun, recently I discovered that if you look into the small round end, you can use it to aim the rifle! 😊

Very nice. Thanks for showing the practical reality of these simple principles.
Thank you for watching I appreciate it

I bet you can get the JSB 18's to shoot one hole if you adjust your reg pressure. More than likely it needs to be bumped up just a touch.
Great video , much appreciated 👍🏻👍🏻
Interesante video. Me ha gustado mucho lo que has usado para medir la agrupacion. Donde se puede conseguir?. Gracias y saludos
Thank you im sure you can get it on the Daystate website
nice, se vir my daai pcp is dit regulated? en ek het die sele scope goeie warde vir sy prys....👌
Nice video. What is the name of your scope cam?
Thanks its the one from scopemate
Great review, very interesting, I have used FX pellets for the last 3 years in my FX DreamTac and Daystate Mk4is, always had superb shot placement compared to other brands I have tried. 👍
Thank you well to be honest this is my first time experimenting with the two brands and I always shot JSB. Thanks for watching

Weihrauch hw100kt for me all day mate, pellet on pellet, so accurate

Hi Marno Shawn here....Damn that Daystates more accurate than my old wolverine i used to have
Hi Shawn yeah i must say im very much impressed with this Huntsman Revere light weight and super accurate

Thanks for your comment please keep in mind this is an air rifle cold bore is not applicable to air rifles as the barrel will always be cold
@@AirGunnerSA cold bore has little or nothing to do with temperature, it is related to the first use after cleaning or disassembling the gun
Where you get that keychain?
Excelente video 👍👍👏👏👌👌🧉🇦🇷 saludos
Thank you
what about the variation in size (diameter) ? in my experience, it affect accuracy more than variation in weight 🤔
Me too
What brand of pellet rifle are you using
It's a Daystate Revere Huma regulated side lever
Bore scope is also beneficial, and DRY nonpetroleum lube.
What do you think of Revere safari
Same gun just a different stock its extremely beautiful
Good video. Also, your scope rings are about 1/2"-3/4" too high. Also, i wouldn't touch my mouth after handling lead. Heavy metal poisoning is a serious thing.

Mooi man.
Because the 17 are smaller they make smaller holes so will be tighter group
Longtime no see..
Buy a RCBS manual scale not digital.
i like ths
Thank you
@@AirGunnerSA Do you think the slug can be consistent for benchrest?
Controled environment ok
OsM 😘💕👍👍
