    Thanks for putting this together and nice job getting it finished so quick - I've been meaning to do one for almost a year now and still haven't got it finished.

    One of the few videos on the 2P. Thank you also for making it comprehensive. Knowing so many details really helps the decisions of fellow camping ethisiasts.

    This is a perfect and informative video! The rest of UA-cam could take a lesson!
    Also, thanks for the tip on the floor bungies, I had no idea what to do with those. And they really help!

    Thanks for putting up the video. I would’ve liked to see you highlight exactly how many stakes you actually inserted into the ground and how many you used and where they were used besides the four primary corners. Also, it would’ve been great to see a circular tour of the tent showing just the fly pitched, doors open and another tour showing just the inner mesh pitched without the fly. Sorry if that’s expecting too much, but I think users will find these scenarios helpful. Thank you.

    • @hipbone01
      @hipbone01  4 роки тому +3

      I used 6 stakes total: 4 stakes on the corner, 1 stake at each door. I should have taken a few shots without the inner. There is SO much room if you use this as a tarp only without the inner! You could probably fit 5 people under it to wait out a rain storm

    Great job on the video! I just received my X-mid 2p yesterday - a few days after I got your awesome stove kit (ps thanks! everything looks great!). I had ordered the 1p but when Drop dropped the 2p drop (sorry, couldn't resist...), I snagged one of the extra 2p's and canceled the 1p. I hope it isn't overkill for the times I'm solo. It was great working with Drop; they were responsive even in all this craziness. Keep us posted if you are thinking about, or, do any mods to the tent - I saw somewhere (?) that someone had rigged a 'closure' at the base of the vestibule zippers so they wouln't pull apart. I'm also trying to decide if I really want to add a footprint or not, so, we'll see. Anyways, thanks again!

    Hey, Hipbone! Was thinking about the stove setup I got from you while backpacking the Bartram Trail using an X-Mid 1 last weekend. The alky stove setup did awesome! The X-Mid held its own through some wake-you-up storms. Duly noted, both X-Mids do take up a good amount of groundspace. It would be of benefit to become familiar with the amount of level space required before hitting the trail with this tent (which applies to all tents, but ya know.....). The X-Mid 1 needs the same ground space as campground bound 2 person tent.

    • @hipbone01
      @hipbone01  4 роки тому

      The X-mids do take up some space, but that also means it gives you a good amount of space inside! Thanks for trying out a stove, I'm glad its working out for you :)

    Nice video on the 2p XMID Hip bone. I noticed your new yellow palante grid hoodie. Nice. I got one the same colour and it arrived last week. Although I don't love how it fits under my chin, not quite snug enough. But still overall good. How do you find it? Blue Boy

      I am 5 ft 7 in and pretty small build and I got a medium. It's a lot more of an athletic fit than my Melly, it fits more like a capilene 4 hoody. I like the fit.

    How stable are the poles when it's pitched? If there are strong winds and someone in the tents accidentally bumps them are there any chance they might tip over and the tent collapses? Also, will basically any kind of Hiking poles work with this?

    wow - thanks for posting. I ordered mine two days ago and can't wait to get it. It'll be my first trekking pole tent. I bought BD poles that I believe are the same as yours in the video. Is it easy to get them into the grommets?

    • @hipbone01
      @hipbone01  4 роки тому

      It was pretty easy. You can insert the poles through the vents or you can unzip the door and insert the tips into the grommet through the door. It's easier for me to unzip the door to get a better look at where the grommet is.

    • @hipbone01

      @@alexbillotte6328 we don't use tip protectors, but you would have to take them off to get the tips in the grommet. I'm pretty sure you can also do a handle up configuration.

    • @hipbone01
      @hipbone01  4 роки тому

      I haven't had a chance to use it yet. This is the first time I've set it up. It is double wall with vents at the top so I think it'll handle condensation as good as any tent though.
