I could make it successfully! I broke the bezel while replacing the broken LCD, of course I broke the bezel on the new one! I wanted to try first on the old screen, and I could remove the old (and good) bezel from the old screen. I used hot air, and my shim kit since it is the thinnest but the sturdiest tool I had. It took roughly 15 minutes to remove, but I feel super happy!
I used a q-tip to try and get dust out of the hinge area, and now theres a few cracks in the bevel. Just ordered one now, thanks for the video when I attempt the replacement. For everyone else, just know the screen is INSANELY DELICATE, so please take your time, follow every step exactly, and never use excess force. Lets hope I don't break my screen.
How did it go?
@@mrtoasticles7144 Very nerve racking when I pulled off the broken cover as it broke into many pieces but with the help of a blow dryer it wasn't too bad. Took a little time to put on the new cover correctly but it all worked out in the end.
Your channel is great and deserves alot more views. Cheers
Edit: I tried this, I’d recommend to not try it yourself. There is a connector in the middle that is really really fragile and you need something extremely thin (I was already using something you’d call thin in a normal household).
Result: get a new screen assembly because the connectors are broken.
Do this very carefully. Only insert a few mm into the top edge of the bezel. Then use micro electronic tweezers and grab the top. Apply gentle pressure as you heat and it will gradually come off. If it it too hot you will see the LCD develop a black blob. Remove the heat and it will recover. Do not force it that is how you will break your screen. Also so do not insert anything more then a few mm deep into the top of the bezel. I definitely would not use a xacto knife like he is doing. It is only glued on top so once the exacto penetrates this it will slide right into the deep part breaking the connectors. I used one of the those plastic pics for iphone screen removal to get it started. Then I gripped it with fine curved electronics tweezer. Applied heat and with gentle pressure the glue slowly released. Took about twenty minutes and some patientce. Also note where the connectors are in this video when he removes the beze laround 2:20. Those are the parts you have to be very careful. If you break that then you break your screen.
Yep
@itouch @amani Hello! May I ask where you’re both located? I would like to inquire if you can replace my MacBook Pro 16” bezel, exactly like this. Thank you.
DO NOT DO THIS! JUST FUCKING BROKE MY WHOLE SCREEN
Hi, thanks for the video! Is it also possible to place the new bezel on top of the old one? Or will it stick out too much?
Hi, there is a space between the lcd and the bottom case and that space is calculated.
So I think that it’s better to not place it on top of the old one because then it could crack the lcd panel that underneath the bezel and the you have lines on your LCD.
But then you need to check I am not 100% sure.
What temperature you use and how much air?? Thanks
Okay. Mines not cracked but when I touch I feel like there’s a tumour there (if that’s the way to explain it lol), but looking at it it looks fine and brand new. I don’t know why but I’m good at picking up little things that usually do not matter and want everything to be perfect as I have OCD and Autism.
thanks so much for this but the music is unnecessarily loud. i wish i could send my macbook to you to fix!!
Nice one, these can be a massive pain to get off in one piece. Could I ask what tools you are using in the video?
Hi, the tools are:
Hot air station
A piece of a stiff plastic

Excellently done! Perfect!
Hi could I replace a A2289 bezel?
Thank you
How much cost it would be ? I mean just to replace only the bezel in MacBooks?
how much temperature do you use?
Great channel.
Where can I get this replacement bezel? Some are sold on Amazon, but the reviews are less than desirable.
Great video! Approximately how hot do you have the air station set to minimize damage to the screen/computer?
Thank you, each hot air station is different, so you need to experiment with yours.
But I can tell you that you need the temperature to be low so you don’t damage the backlight also.
Hello, how much do you charge for fixing this. I have the same issue and want mine to be replaced. Or where can I buy a new bezel to do it myself.
Hi, please contact me on Facebook so we can discuss the pricing.
Link in the description.
Great video! I have a Similar crack on mine, where can i find the replacement bezel tho? I would really appreciate it if you can tell me. Thanks for the video anyway.

Can we also replace te rubber guards same way ??
What is the name of that prying tool you are using? Can't find anything similar online
Hi, does this bezel compatible with A2338 M1, 2020 bezel?
I don’t know, you need to google it and see if it matches
donde se compra eso??
what kind of spatula was that? where to get one? thanks.
Does Apple does this in their official service centres??
don't know, don't care.
it's sooooooo cheaper to do it yourself.
they will tell you to replace the whole LCD for this panel
What is the bezel made of? -- a glass or vinyl?
I think kind of plastic glass
hi, there's small hairline crack, so I used black electrical duct tape on that cracked part to avoid it from dust. Do you think this will work ?
Hello, it should work.
The only reason for replacing this panel is cosmetic repair.
@@iTouch-repair thanks, I don’t need cosmetic repair, lmao, m saving money for iPad right now. Thanks for replying. I just covered it with tape as I heard it will save it from dust.
Hiya do you think it would look okay if I just placed a new bezel on top of the old one to avoid any damage
I need to know to :)
Try it I cut my ribbons
what could possibly happened if I don't replace that? I have a crack on right bottom side.
Absolutely nothing will happen
@@iTouch-repair thanks god, I accidentally dropped tooth pick and didn't notice lol 😂
Hello. I can't find a place in my city where it can be replaced. Can I send you my computer so you can replace it?
HEY! If you're too squeamish think about simply sticking the new bezel onto top of the old one. I did. I think you can get away with it once.
Hi, Thanks for the advice.
will try to do that next time.
hi, I'm having the same issue and I think I will not be able to replace the piece without damaging the screen, so I would like to stick the new one onto the old one like yours. Do you think it was a good idea? Did it block it to close or anything like that? Would mean a lot if you could reply, thank u
@@yasbenz5599 Hi, I've had absolutely no problems since I've done it and have actually forgotten there's a damaged bezel underneath. It's worth a go - you can always peel it back off if you don't like it

Can you please share the part number for this item -- I need to replace one on my A1990 15,3 MBPro. If anyone is curious, you should be able to warm it up and use dental floss if you have it, you just need to slide slowly.
I don't know why, but everytime I use the heat gun, the screen would turn greenish in the spot where im blowing it close to, anyone have a solution, like putting tin foil or smth???
Hi, use lower temperature 😅
Also you need to keep moving your hand so you don’t overheat the screen
@@iTouch-repair Also, even with a pry tool, i was not able to remove the bezel?!?!
Dont use a knife, you will damage delicate ribbon cables behind the bezel. He just got lucky this time...
how much was ittttt plzzzz
Hi, can you please share a reliable store that ships India to purchase the bezel?

bro what happened? did you replace it?
Why are loads of people having this problem, macs are a joke never getting one again lol
Because people don’t take care of their products
Apple told me they had to replace the whole screen assembly...
Typical from Apple 🤦🏻♂️
Who changes it in Delhi
Did you find the answer
Pata chala Delhi mai kon thek karta hai
If you get the answer , let me know
Dont try it, this will damage your screen
Well, if you are not a professional then yes you will damage it
Thanks for the great video!
I have almost the same crack which I believe is a crack because of thermal elongation. Went to the apple store and they told me it wouldn't be covered in the warranty because it must have happened because I would have stood on the MacBook... total nonsense there.
Anyways they wanted almost 800 Euros and told me it wouldn't be possible to just change the plastic bezel they would have to change the whole screen which is still perfectly fine....
Do you know if this video also applies to my MacBook Pro 16 inch?
Hi, yeah that seems about right from Apple 😅🤦🏻♂️.
And yes I assume that it’s the same for the new MacBooks 16”.
