Out of entire PMLN, KHAGAN ABASI is the only person I respect.
It's unfortunate men like Khaqan Abbas are now allowed to rise through the ranks of our political parties.

It helps if you have a proper education.
They all seem so sensible in interviews but when they're in power, it's a different matter.
He tells half truths and half lies.
He says he doesn't support PMLN politics of grabbing power by any means.
But then he says he is not ready to oppose it in public or criticise them.
Then what is the benefit of all this?
Please take him. He can manage your life as he managed things being in politics of Pakistan. We are offering him to you free of cost.

Pretty reasonable and gentlemanly politician. It’s a shame that the top leaders in Pakistan are all mired in corruption while decent and competent folks like Abbasi and Miftah Ismail are left out or when in, treated like minions.
PMLN is making a mistake by Ignoring him. He should be filed as a candidate for CM Punjab, and report directly to NS.
This is one of the best guests and interviews of 2023.
When I learnt the word "friend-zoned", I realised what was happening with my life and eventually corrected course. Later when I learnt the word "populism", I realised the IK phenomena. Populism is not just a Pakistan specific issue. It is a global thing now, specially since the mass availability of social media. The antidote to establishment ( which manifests its self in many countries ) is not populism. It is good hearted people in power, of which Mr Khaqan is a prime example. He seems light years away from sizzling narratives, controversy, soundbites, mis-information and other populism infested phenomenas. He seems a genuine person who wants betterment for my country. Kudos to him and TPE team for this wonderful episode. 😄

@@wheeliestoppie i know shahid sir for a very long time now, and he has been such a wonderful person to meet with always, i do have many issues with their party even though i dont even support their political party, but shahid sir as a person is very great and humble man, first i thought that he is the ex pm of pakistan and owner and exacutive of air blue so he would be no less then ambani, but he is very genuine person and very attractive personality to talk with and learn from.
He is not honest.

@@MAzeeshan-po2nu One of his achievements is his role of destruction in PIA. He was chairman of PIA between 1997 to 1999. He benefited from PIA experience & launched Air Blue in 2003. As a chairman he didn't try to fight open-skies policy (which destroyed PIA) and he is still supporting privatization initiatives which have already ruined Pakistan's economy.
No matter what, our greatest PM Modi will never agree to have press conference or answer uncomfortable questions....Kudos to this guy!!!

Off course Pakistan is governed by establishments, people do not question that anymore. Pakistan is an open Garrison for the Pakistani Army, they say a country has its own army, but in terms of Pakistan, an army has a whole country.

I have started following your channel about 1 and a half year ago and was so happy to see you cross 100k and over few months not only your reach is increasing but the guest list as well. Really regretted not being able to attend your black hole interaction in person.

It was all fun & games until Shehzad asked him about Thosha Khana. And our ex-PM blatantly and without any regret said that the gifts were given to me. They don't even see what's wrong with their mentality.
Every politician has the same mentality, so I guess it’s our national thing 🤷🏻♂️
Unless the army goes back to the barracks, there is rarely any hope for Pakistan. If there is a good army chief now then probably he might go with this collective plan but once another man comes probably he might not tow the same line.
Now, if the army wants its share of GDP by showing the India as monster that’s also fine but keep them in the barracks. In some years, the politicians and people will pave a way forward.
But don't you think if we create a system of collaboration it will be tough for new ones to confront it and eventually they will have to collaborate with each other as well

Thank u for letting us hear about those demons whom we consider the real fault lines of our Country. So from his words, we need cultural as well as social shift from where we are right now. Blaming predecessors won;t work. We need to clean our mess through dialogue between all the stake holders.

I live somewhere sheikhupra. I was against him while being hijacked by propaganda of our sold media and I used to think he is a thief for example his LNG deal process. But slowly slowly after listening him since last 5-6 years I think he is some of the finest politicians ever produced by Pakistan..I used to think him as an establishment puppet but he is a true gentleman.

@@ibnebadr367 i did listen to the podcast. he basically said that the law was there and I took advantage of it, change the law if you have a problem. a guy who owns a airline , his sons bought iphones from toshakhana at much lower cost, greedy as fuck. the prices of these gifts are undervalued by the govt itself and the pm then pays 20% of that amount.

After winning the election Mr. Shahid joined the IJI,which was newly founded in September 1988 by then Director-General of Inter-Services Intelligence to counter the PPP.

Khaqqan Abbasi is speaking from both ends.
He is telling us 6-7 people out of 240 millions people decide what to do it.
His arguments totally against constitution and democracy. Parliament should decide.
Host is absolutely right that elected people in parliament to build the consensus and direction for the country.
I used to respect him but today he is speaking the language of establishment and unelected people.
Please ask Shahid Abbasi saheb the following:
" Presently there are around 5 airlines that have been doing a roaring business from UK alone on the basis of air traffic to Pakistan. If there was a half decent PIA service, most of these passengers would prefer to fly direct ( huge difference in flying direct vs indirect). European and North American markets are separate. So, if the over employment and bad debts for PIA are taken care of, why is it not a good business model to operate a Pakistan International Airlines?

Mr. Abbasi was talking about building Political consensuses. All parties and CJP or COAS (who are supposed to be non political, and aught to be out of politics in or out of politics), needs to come up with "Action Plan", and agree that when it will be brought to parliament we will all vote for these basic structural and constitutional changes .

You people don't understand that every army chief has his own view and appoint his own preferred generals in key positions and they make decisions as per their needs and what they can get from USA as monetary benefits.
What Yahaya khan or Zia ul haq used to do is not the same what asim munir is doing.
If asim munir, imran khan and other parties sit down and create a system, Tomorrow another general will come and would violate that system because they consider them the authority in this country.
So you will again have instability and again political chaos.
The solution is NOT sitting with army chief and accepting his demands.
The solution is changing the dynamics of power with deep reforms in the powers of armed forces, judiciary and Parliament.

But I have my differences from PTI as well as PMLN
We all can have difference of opinion but the hate there is now in politics has ruined the country.
