Of the 337 episodes of TPE, I have watched at least 180 episodes completely. But this ep has left me confused; I don't know whether I liked it or not (despite anticipating it since the guest reveal)
after the 1st half, I was pretty disappointed at Talat Hussain for prioritizing Army's collective wisdom over the masses. His acquiescence with Asim Munir winding 'Project Imran' is uncomforting primarily because:
    a) Isn't it selective amnesia to believe Army's role in politics started from 2010 onwards. What about Nawaz; he too was birthed in the nursery of establishment. why not wind 'Project Nawaz'? Just because it happened pre 2000s?
    b) Acquiescing this winding project legitimizes establishment's role in politics. I do agree 9th may was a disaster and project 'Imran' is, indeed, a wrong project which has only destabilized Pakistan but wouldn't it be better to leave it here and let time run its course (assuming establishment has acknowledged it misadventure)
I stand with what I wrote above yet I like Talat Hussain sb, even more so now, for his honesty and clarity in what he believes. We can agree to disagree on this one.
In the process of writing this comment, I am no longer confused. I loved the podcast and I can say that the last 100min of my life were an investment and not a waste.
His insight into ToshaKhana and educated guesses were a treat. I learnt a lot and thanks Shahzad for the tough questions and more so for maintaining the smile and humble tone despite the zealous tone by Talat sb
PS: I never knew a proper journalist has to be so skilled and meticulous. Massive respect for Talat sb for not accepting a single trip in his 34 year career.
PPS: I regularly watch Talat sb's channel and my scrutiny of him comes out of a place of respect. If you (Talat sb) read this comment, consider this the honest reporting a journalist ought to do of establishment, which they may not like at the moment, but respect in the long term (for the honesty and principled stance)

Don’t have to agree with everything the guest says, important to get his POV, I disagree with the army’s role in politics too but I feel I now better understand Talat’s take on what is happening, must say he was good here.

The whole podcast is about Ik or IK v/s establishment. Why don't you talk about your employer ,Mr Aleem khan, his vision and his politics. Why don't you discuss your Masters vision and his family. Why only Ik
In ur v recent vlog, Mr Talat Hussain, you discussed that PTI is not that famous as it is claim to be.If that is the case in point than why you are only discussing IK here.
You have so deep down grudges against IK that u have gone to the extent of saying that he cheated in cricket how shameful and disgraceful.

Ah, I know him well and his stature too. In Karachi he once came to address the students in 2005. Once asked why he and his channel AAj TV raise their voice against the violent politics of MQM in those days. He said look we are a business and our aim is to keep our business secure. We are not concerned with right or wrong or morality.thats not our issue and don't expect us to act otherwise. I am a personal witness to his outbursts then.

    To the People of Pakistan,
It's time for us to reflect on the future of our beloved nation. Regardless of our political affiliations, we must prioritize the well-being of Pakistan above all else. Our young generation holds the potential to shape a brighter tomorrow, but we must recognize the responsibility that comes with it.
Let us not allow political divides to hinder our progress. Instead, let's focus on what unites us as Pakistanis: our shared aspirations for a prosperous and harmonious society.
We urge our leaders to govern with integrity and foresight, always mindful of the long-term consequences of their actions. We must hold them accountable for their decisions and demand transparency in governance.
We are not bound by party allegiances but by our commitment to the betterment of our nation. Together, let's work towards building a Pakistan that we can be proud of-a Pakistan that thrives in unity, peace, and progress

I have a love-hate relationship with you Shehyad and you don't even know about it.... Love your stance on Palestine, hate your ideological bent, and how you sometimes throw full toses at anti-PTI political voices. But I loved this episode because it showed what you could be. Absolutely unbiased and holding people to facts without being disrespectful. To me Talat Hussain's resentment and bias however warranted became clear in this episode and therefore makes him an unreliable voice.

@@ThePakistanExperience Recent example when Bilawal was announcing his obviously unworkable social welfare programs under our current economy.I think you did push him on how he plans to fund it all but i personally think you let him off the hook with his unsatisfactory answer of cutting elite subsidies. Woh elite ka hissa hai, the one province he does run is run on a system of patronage. He can't cut elite subsidies overnight even if he wants to..... that in my eyes was at least an intentional misfield on your part. But then again, I'm biased against him. I don't discount the fact that I could be wrong and you pushed as much as you could.

One thing was very clear, Talat sahab has a hatred bias against Imran Khan on a very high degree in comparison to the rest of political leaders like Nawaz, zardari, or the rest. He is an excellent analyst and journalist until the time Imrans' topic is not discussed. Whenever he talks about Imran, his hatred takes over his journalistic mindset. I hope he finds a balance with time, just like Shahzad has found one over time over Imran Khan. :)

The dude's a joke defending forced disappearances because sometimes the West cut corners in their justice system as well. I wondered what kind of people defend missing persons from Balochistan, he is clearly exabit A, a psychopath who doesn't have a shred of empathy. America’s dogs, who are proud of being picked by the Master race.
Anyway, the prices paid by people who play cricket with Bajwa are really different from the prices paid by the average people. 100s dead in this crusade by the establishment and we don’t even see a mention from anybody’s mouth.
Defending the absolute absence of civil libraries, on emotional whims. Defending jailing of sole earners of the family being tortured in an in marked jail, and the dependents struggling to eat.
