@@annaairahala9462 Depends on the game for me. Skyrim? I skip every dialogue because the story is shit and my choices don't matter. New Vegas or VTMB on the other hand have such amazing dialogue and voice acting which ties into the game and story that I HAVE to experience it.
I only recently started VNs so I have no idea if this is something common or just in fsn but I don't like how the it's written like a huge monologue.

@@kartxlol8023 the simplest way is to watch in order of airing (not counting recap movies). You can technically skip the very first one Fate/Stay Night from Studio Deen, because they smashed all the routes in one 26-episode anime not knowing if it'll get popular enough for other seasons, so it was really bad and confusing near the end.
The magic of Fate series is that every /franchise is it's very own universe, and you can skip some if you don't like the story. Examples of Fate/:
/stay night (original 3 routes)
/Zero (prequel, one war before /stay night)
/kaleid liner Prisma Illya (magical girl anime, which gets better with every season)
/Apocrypha (7 servants vs 7 servants in another timeline)
/Extra (there's no magic on the Earth left, so we're gonna hack super-computer)
/Grand Order (restore the history of humanity by going and fighting Demon Pillars in different past historical events)

When he started talking about the really bad hentai games on Newgrounds and stuff, I got hit by a tsunami of nostalgia.
I remember this one arcde game from when I was in Japan that was this dungeon delving game, and when you got loot drops it actually spat out trading cards. You also had a level able player card. Then each time you come back you use your character and item cards as like a deck that you load into the machine when you start. I wish I remembered the name. I loved that game.

I feel Gigguk really hard on that weird fear of wasting your time. I developed it around like three or four years ago. Even when I'm going somewhere I'll have to be in a waiting room for a while I feel like I HAVE to be doing something I enjoy. I hate the idea of just doing nothing enjoyable during my free time. If I'm going to be waiting in a waiting room I take my laptop and read visual novels or do something, and a lot of the time I get anxious about getting into a new visual novel or anime or manga because I'm worried I'm going to get really far into it hoping it gets better and just hating it, and feeling like I just wasted all that time on a series I didn't like, so it's like now any time before I buy a visual novel, video game, start a new anime, etc. it's like I'll research the shit out of it for little while. I'll even look it up on TV Tropes and spoil a few things for myself because I want to try to be as certain as I possibly can that it's going to be something that I'm going to like.

32:00 I'm someone who's never finished reading a book, and I've never played a game that would be anything like a visual novel. But I tried one for the first time 6 days ago and since then the only things I've been doing is playing visual novels, working and sleeping, idk why or how, but I got addicted. Garnt's katawa shoujo recommendation got me into this, katawa shoujo has definitely easily become one of my fav games of all time

Ok, so I wanted to see if age was a factor in Connor being bewildered. For some reason I was really shocked to find out that Gigguk is 6 years older than Joey and 7 older than Connor. Dude looks way younger to me for some reason. I thought Connor was the oldest and Joey and Gigguk were the same age till now.

@@liminamoto312 Yeah I grew up on Nintendo as well and am not fond of PvP modes or games where you can only do PvP. That said I still have gone through PvP game phases, like playing a moba, but I wasn't enjoying it a whole lot. Maybe there's something to that theory because of Nintendo's late online services compared to other consoles?

@@DengueBurger for the most part, what Connor has access to when he was 13-16 was vastly different to when Joey and Garnt was 13-16, even if Connor is only 2 years younger than Joey, during that time period when Connor became a teenaged was when a lot of internet stuff started to blow up like Google, UA-cam and other discrete websites that ppl use a lot now. Also Garnt and Joey has more appreciation for books and stories is because when they were younger, they had less access to adrenaline rush computer games and well, having Asian parents meant I'm sure they're "convinced" to read more books when they were in their elementaries as you can see Joey once admitted that one of his "weird" hobbies when he was young was just to grab the Kanji dictionary and start reading it.

VN's & novels in general are splendid. It is unfortunate that a huge percentage of people don't read anything at all but it really can't be forced... I wonder if this dislike of reading comes from not being introduced to reading as a child or from being forced to read awful textbooks in school. And of course, I know some people just cannot focus while reading but surely there is something that can help people focus more.
