What I learned in this episode:
    1) Joey gets triggered over okonomiyaki.
    2) Garnt doesn't like sauces.
    3) Connor gets triggered over hamburgers.
    4) They all love tsukemen.

I mean, there's no actual point to not just kill them quickly right before you cook them rather than torture it to death while cooking it. it doesn't make it better.

I get "triggered" by the word "triggered". It's a derogatory word that's used as a way of dismissing everything. Like nobody should ever have a strong view, care or be concerned about anything, otherwise you're "triggered".

I just wanted to express how refreshing and entertaining this podcast is. When I need a break from life this podcast takes me away. There's something about the synergy of conversations with an injection of true expression between friends that makes me step back and feel that good-hearted social interaction I lack. Its so nice to hear more "light-hearted" (not saying they don't talk seriously about certain topics) discussions that really let me unwind from my own life. Not to look obsessively dependent on these videos, but these guys give that positive push when I get hopeless and depressed with my inadequate self. Im and older teen and I feel bleak af with no aim and at times I cannot find the emotions to do anything. This podcast has given me so much in terms of unwinding down support. This might sound pathetic, but watching this podcast lets me find enjoyment and with that gift of enjoyment I keep living. Their podcast is not the only thing that helps me, but they do contribute a good portion. This podcast is a little refreshment with attitude that really hits different. I hope everybody will find more little things they can think deeply or feel deeply about to make a more balanced life. Thank you for your time if you've read through my jumbled mess of a comment and I hope your day goes well.

I don't think the hambargu are being done justice, it's similar to a Salisbury steak, it's not just a hamburger patty, it has onions and garlic and sometimes carrots minced and mixed in to make the meat taste slightly caramelised and sweeter as well as releasing natural umami from the meat.
Edit: The sweet french inspired Demi glace sauce also is the key to a great hambargu

So I recently looked this up.
Eggs in the US are cleaned with bleach. This makes each egg look more uniform and clean. However, bleaching eggs thins the shell and makes it easier to contaminate. That's why American eggs need refrigerated.
In the UK, Europe and Asia, chicken eggs aren't cleaned the same say. The shell is thicker and can be left out at room temperature. Chickens are also immunised against laying eggs with salmonella. Immunisation doesn't happen in the US.
All of these practices are set by food health and safety laws.
I found this super interesting because by law, UK eggs can't be sold in America and American eggs can't be sold anywhere else.

Also, as a german: there are things that you can not do with chicken or beef. There are many german dishes that only really work with pork like your typical white sausage (Weißwurst) or the classical Frikadelle (a Hamburger Steak that does not suck) or Mett or many german sausages. Many typical rosted meat (Braten) dishes use pork, for example Kassler needs to be pork.

The Hawaiian dish you were looking for is called spam musubi. :) It's basically a spam nigiri. You can get it everywhere in the islands! And one of the regional McDonald's breakfasts is spam, eggs & rice. There's also a spam themed festival. Basically, Hawaii has a love affair with spam and has adopted it as a local food - though technically most foods people think of as Hawaiian are actually from other places. Macadamia nuts are Australian, pineapples are South American, etc. Since Hawaii is pretty far out into the ocean, there aren't a lot of truly native plants. Most plants got transported in from elsewhere.

I've noticed from when you guys and Chris talking about prices of eating out in Japan, it's way more affordable than in the US for instance, eating out here is like 2x the cost of cooking at home, even cooking stuff that's pretty good quality.
Like a pack of 4x 10oz steaks at the grocery store is $25-$45 depending on the cut of meat, a giant bag of broccoli is like $2/pound and a giant sack of potatoes is like $1-2/pound and at a restaurant a steak dinner with the sides is going to be $20-40 for one person and then you have to tip 15-20% of the bill on top.
Even eating out at a fast food restaurant for a meal here is going to cost you like $7-12/person depending on where you go and how much you eat and for the most part they're not that great. For a midtier restaurant meal it's going to be $15-20/person, that's SO expensive when you can cook a great meal for your whole family for $20.

If I’m just having a slab of steak the focus is on the meat. So if that meat is shit quality (or if it’s cooked improperly) then it’s just shit. Though, I do have to agree with Joey. Steak is mid.

You don't boil the cow alive. Garnt mentioned the lobster being killed with a swift knife to the spine... Versus being set, alive, on the grill, to burn.

@@aperture0 ofc it matters, unnecessary suffering is always bad. So, are you saying that you dont mind if he animals you eat were tortured (in front of you to say the least). Besides you can eat meat, and kill the animals in a more humane way than to cook them alive in my opinion. Animals are alive as well you know, a little empathy is always good
